Carolina Sun was able to get out to my home the next week to replace a new A/C and gas furnace package unit. Rain delayed the install a bit but they were able to come out the same day to install the unit within 3-4 hours. Mike (owner) was very easy to work with and was very professional and VERY responsive. Great company.
Everyone from that company did a great job; from the lady answering the phone to the crew that came out and replaced the old ac/heating system.They all responded in a timely manner and were professional.
Great company. We have used their services twice. Once in 2019 for our AC and today for our heat. Both times they diagnosed and completed the needed repairs quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable price. We will definitely use them for any and all future HVAC needs. 03/08/20. I requested service from Carolina Sun Heating & Air. My outer unit(heat Pump) stop working( not cooling). When Technician and helper came to my house, I explained the matter and they conducted the require inspections on the unit. Technician, Jim, checked the outer init and installed a CAPACITOR to later proceed to do more testing on my unit. He said that the electric breaker kept tripping. After 30 min he walked inside the house and told me bald news, compressor is bad. Later, he said You may be better off with a new system, my boss is going to give you an estimate tomorrow He just charged me the service call $89 dollars.Same day I called another Technician to check my unit. the guy check the unit and told me my unit only needed a capacitor, which I told him that the other guy(Jim) swapped it. But apparently he took it back and left compressor unplug. New guy fixed my unit. That was the only problem with my 17 years old unit( CAPACITOR) and JIM wanted to push a sale. Besides needing a capacitor, He disconnected the compressor and left several wires unplug. Now, my unit woks better than ever! NO thanks to Carolina Sun Heating & Air.05.08.20. I received a call from Carolina Sun Heating & Air boss. Mike, he told me that his technician evaluated my system and that I needed a new A/C system. He said $4300 for the unit. I told him what happened and that his technician didnt wan to fix my unit but only push a sale. He told me Whoo, Jim? I said, Yes!. He said hold on one min I am going to talk to him and call you back. ..... Never called.Be AWARE of these people. DO NOT CALL THEM.

My home was in desperate need of new ductwork. It was a mess underneath my house and I did a lot of shopping before deciding to go with Carolina Sun. I had seen their work in the restaurant Dashi, and knew they could do a clean job. I waited top get the job done a few months after my estimate and consultation, but when I called them back up, they were quick to very the job done. They got the whole project done in one day amass the price wad more than fair. The house feels lunge it can breathe againand it feels like a new home all together. 10/10 Michael Anna hots crew are an honest group that does the job right

Had this company come to my home in West Ashley a couple of months ago on a Sunday and there were 2 men that came 1 was the owner Mike Platt and I didnt get the other mans name but the owner sat and had the other man do all the work and he was a very nice gentleman and very professional but the owner made me feel very uncomfortable by flirting with me the entire time he was there and had it not been for the other man explaining things to me I would not have known nothing. My unit needed a part and I was told they could get it but after they realized it may be under warranty. Well after several days I had not heard a word from them and so I gave up and didnt want that company back there because of the advances the owner made to me and even asked me out and called me a couple of times doing the same. Had it not been for the owner I would have them back but under the circumstances I wont use them again. All I heard that day was how single that guy was. Very unprofessional. So ladies beware if you live alone.
I had purchased a unit from them, after having 4 contractors come out to install the unit Mr Platt himself came out with a crew to finally finish the installation. I had nothing but issues from the unit after they replaced the reversing valve about 6 months after installation of the unit. Since its under a 10 year warranty I am forced to use the company for warranty work and maintenance. As Im told or the warranty will be void. This summer the unit froze up again. They came and cleaned the unit and actually cleaned the inside coil as well. I was told that if I purchase the annual maintenance program it would be cleaned twice a year once in the summer and once in the fall. So I did after paying the service call and the maintenance fee and set up my fall service cleaning I had to call them to get them to come out and service my unit a month and a half late. When the technician came out he only checked the contacts, wires, and the gas that was in the unit. I explained to the technician that it was for a cleaning as well. He told me that it was an extra charge and left. Mr. Platt was supposed to call me several times over the miss representation and issues Ive had over this unit. The lady at the office is very rude if you start to question the service or start to explain issues about the technicians. I still have a warranty with my unit but since they cant provide customer service or resolve any issues I wont use them any more and recommend you dont either.
I would highly recommend Carolina Sun Heating and Air. My AC stopped working Monday, I called Carolina Sun, their technician, Jim, came out late Monday afternoon, he checked our HVAC, diagnosed the problem and said he would have to pick up the part to fix it and he would be back Tuesday morning. Sure enough, Tuesday morning Jim showed up fixes our HVAC and within an hour we are getting cool air again. JIm was punctual, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Kudos to Carolina Sun Heating and Air for having such a great team member and taking care of us. Im very impressed with every interaction we had and the work that was done.
Approximately three months ago (SC August) my 88 year old father lost his central air unit. Platt’s, the company that had installed the unit was no longer in business so I called their new company Carolina Sun. This was on a weekend but the lady I spoke with told me that she should be able to get someone out within a few hours. Needless to say, I was very pleased. When the Technician showed up I was a little surprised to see his wife was also with him. Turned out, she writes serial numbers and what not down for him. After an hour or so of working on the unit and not being able to get it started, the Technician came up with the diagnosis and it was decided that either the compressor or the entire unit would have to be replaced. I spoke with my dad about it and he agreed to foot the bill for the $1800.00 compressor which was still under warranty. He had to have some relief from the heat. The Technician made some calls and said he should be able to have the new compressor on the following Monday.Monday afternoon we had not heard anything so I gave them a call. Turned out the compressor they got in had been damaged or something but should be able to have another on Tuesday. Tuesday they called and said that the one they got in was the wrong one they’ll have it on Thursday. Thursday afternoon the Technician did come out and removed the old compressor and left. Friday, he and his wife returned with the new compressor and started the installation which is a pretty lengthy process. After a few hours the new compressor was in and ready to go. When he powered up the unit, it did the exact same thing it was doing in the beginning, the compressor and fan would try to start but then it would shut back down. The Technician swapped out capacitors a number of times and was starting to get a little frustrated when the unit continued to do the same thing. He and I both agreed that it sounded like the compressor just wasn’t getting the needed voltage to start so he started looking at the electronics part of the unit. After some poking around, he came across the contacts (or breaker) in the unit that had obviously been arching or something for some time because they had quite a bit of carbon build up on them. He tapped on them with a screwdriver and then attempted to start the unit again. Bingo! The compressor and fan came on like they were supposed to. After replacing the contacts with a new set, the unit ran like a charm. Nothing against Carolina Sun Heating and Air however, I watched the work performed, and I personally know that the Technician simply made a bad diagnosis on the unit. My father was charged $1800.00 for a compressor that was still under warranty when the problem was nothing more than $100 set of contacts. If I would have only held on to the defected part once the Technician handed it to me, I could have proven a case, but instead, I handed it back to him without ever giving it a thought.I would not recommend using Carolina Sun Heating and Air.
