I joined this gym/box 6 months ago and it has truly changed my life. I have lost weight and more importantly I am happy to be back working out after a long hiatus. In addition, the customer service is phenomenal. The coaches are great motivators and make you want to keep coming back. Any and all questions are answered quickly whether you ask in person, through text, or by email. I can’t wait to see where I’m at after 6 more months!

This place has really given me a new sense of confidence. Not because of more reps and sets that I can do, but because of the constant support system. From the coaches to the members and everyone in between, this cultivates a community in which everyone becomes a better person overall. They make their objectives very clear from the start. Their objectives are perfect form, great friends, and new family.

This place has changed my life for my health and exercise regimen. I was at a nearby gym facility before, thinking what I was doing on my own was good but that was not the case. My time spent with my kids and family now after starting here has been so much better since I am moving without aches and pains and feel confident in myself to participate in local activities with friends. I wish I would have started a long time ago with them but am just happy I found them. I want to encourage anyone else who thinks how I used to about crossfit to give them a try and see for yourself

I love this box!!! Have been coming here for just over a year and its not an overstatement to say its changed my life. Lost a ton of weight, built a decent amount of muscle, fixed my diabetes, but most importantly, Amanda, her team and the whole Doulos gang changed the way I thought about getting and staying in shape. Rather than it being a pain in the neck, I seriously look forward to each class. You can probably join a million different gyms in Houston, but the coaches at Doulos really, really care about customizing and scaling each workout- making sure you have the right form so a) you get the most out of it and b) you dont injure yourself. The exercises are constantly changing so you dont get stuck in a rut. Each class has a size limit so you get a lot of individual attention. And the best part is that it really is a family- everyone, the coaches, the athletes- everyone is super helpful and friendly and I felt like I fit right in.After hearing me go on and on about how much I loved the place, my wife and son are part of the Doulos family too and theyre just as hooked as I am. If you are like me and want to make a serious and lasting change, come take a class at Doulos!

I recently attended the Mother’s day free week they were offering for moms and I was very timid to walk in and try it. I am so glad I walked in their doors and attended that first class. The trainers introduced themselves to me as soon as I opened the door and made me feel welcome (which I really appreciated since I was so new and nervous). I had 0 experience with crossfit or weights and they worked with me through the entire day’s plan (step by step— and I wasn’t even a paying client).The gym was VERY clean and organized and the bathrooms were very clean as well. It also had AC (which is something that most crossfit gyms do not have as I was told) so that would definitely be another plus. It was good energy as soon as I walked in and that relieved a lot of anxiousness for me. They had a nice sitting area for us to charge our phones and sit to watch and relax. They also have a very neat front desk and TV set up at the front entrance.I really enjoyed the classes and noticed an immediate difference in energy levels from them. I can only imagine a month or two of consistent participation. You can tell the trainers are very educated and credible in what they do and how they train you. Very respectable. You can tell they care about your progress and that is what’s making me want to go back. I am excited to see the results come. CrossFit Doulos has great trainers who helped me lose 27.3 lbs in 6 weeks, also trained me on right ways of doing effective workouts. Beside losing weight I feel much better in my daily activities. CrossFit was a blessing for me at this time of my life.

I absolutely love this place!!!Here are my TOP reasons why/PROS:-Safe and easy parking (even at busy times): My old gym did not have this so I really appreciate feeling safe when its dark out and never having to worry about my car being broken into OR even finding a parking space!-A very well trained staff: the coaches (and they have a dietician there) are all incredibly informed and passionate about making sure youre progressing and on track to accomplishing what you initially came in for(and they even meet with you to do goal setting so youre always focused on improving something). You can tell they truly care for each person and that they WANT them to succeed. Ive had a few (unfortunate) experiences at other boxes where the coaches are coaching simply because they want to train/compete and NOT because their passion is helping others become more healthy. The coaches here (especially the female trainers in my opinion, but they all are really great) are incredible leaders and are always building people up and are positive towards you. They also live out what they teach us (check their muscles) and I personally believe thats a true testament to someones credibility in any profession-Incredibly clean gym and AMAZING front desk area: OK, so most crossfit gyms do not have AC or nice restrooms (or even more than one restroom)... This one does!!! And a shower! Very well taken care of and clean every time I have come in.CONS:-To be fair, the only con or negative thing would be the size of the space itself. I was spoiled with a really big gym before, so this was an adjustment for me BUT they have a cap size for their classes to ensure theres always plenty of space and equipment for members and that the coaches are always able to give you individual attention and not just throw you in there like a lot of other gyms. I dont think this is a negative thing because they have a structure to it... I think gyms with large classes lack the attention to detail for their members. I would much rather have a class under 20 people or even 15 so I know Im getting coached well (since that is why Im there)

I had the pleasure of joining a six weeks challenge at CrossFit Doulos Gym in Sugar land; it was challenging, but very well worth it. This is my first time doing CrossFit and they made me love it. The coaches were great, friendly and very supportive. They worked together to challenge me and helped overcome my limitations such as procrastination, going to the gym for a week then stop, excuses of no time, not able to lose any significant weight. Group activities were awesome, small group hence the coach can see everyone. Each visit, they gave me an extra push in my weekly exercise regimen sessions with focusing on the total body. The total body exercise regimen allowed me to notice the different body parts that I will continue to work on after the challenge. I have learned many different techniques. The eating chart was simple and easy to follow. I lost a total of 29 lbs. within my 6 weeks and is now eager to go to the gym and work out those kinks. I would surely challenge a family member and or friend to this program. My husband and I are proud of my new look. He is planning to pay a visit to the Gym as well. More updates to come...

As someone new to CrossFit, I really appreciate Crossfit Doulos. The owner and trainer, Amanda, is very encouraging to new-comers and goes out of her way to make sure that you dont exacerbate any pre-existing injuries. The environment is friendly and relaxed but you still get a great workout. I am looking forward to many more sessions at this Crossfit Doulos.

LOVE LOVE LOVE CF DOULOS. I came here after 4 years at a huge CF gym (MBS in Colorado) owned by 6-time games athlete Pat Burke, so I was really spoiled... I checked out a few other CF gyms in the area, but I could not have made a better choice. Amanda knows how to program, coach and create a community! Best CF gym in the Sugar Land - Missouri City area, IMO.

I wanted to share my experience with the 6 week challenge program that I recently completed at this facility. The coaches and trainers are without a doubt some of the most talented and educated trainers I have experienced (I played collegiate football so have had quite a bit of experience with strength and conditioning by incredible trainers). The trainers here are THAT good. I think some people write that off because it’s a “crossfit” gym, but they’re educated and know the science behind it. Whether you’re doing personal training and/or group classes, you will learn how to move well (with safety in mind).The 6 week challenge I participated in worked miracles. I lost more than my goal of 6% BF (was pretty easy— just followed their meal plan and worked out under their structured plans) and have noticed a major difference in energy, mood and over-all happiness. I actually look forward to WORKING OUT now (something that was hard to do post-sports) and that has been one of the biggest changes for me… Not only are they teaching me how to move better; they’re teaching me how to grocery shop, read labels, food prep (recipe books you get in the challenge) AND how to make it work in a busy lifestyle. We’re all busy, right? This team of trainers has set us all up for success. They wanted us to succeed from day 1 and you could tell that by how well they treat EVERYONE. It has been refreshing to walk into a place where it’s diverse AND welcoming. They have treated people with open arms, from all backgrounds and lifestyles and ensure that they feel comfortable being themselves (this really made a statement to me). This is something that really showcases professionalism (in my opinion). I can’t say enough about the trainers at this facility.Do yourself a favor and invest in yourself by signing up for their next challenge. If you want change and you need some guidance and structure… this is for you. Trust the process and let them work with you— they know what they’re doing, trust me.

I started my CrossFit (CF) journey last Sept 30th 2017 with CrossFit Doulos without knowing much about the program. I became curious when my friend from NZ visited me in Houston and started talking about CrossFit. So, I looked around the “boxes” in the area and saw around 6 places, so I decided to check it out. My first stop was CrossFit Doulos (CFD) and had a chance to talk to Amanda Walter. The Saturday (Sept 30th) of that week they have CFD Beginners Class which Amanda told me to try out. I still did check the other boxes and I found out that CFD box is roomier and have good amount of quality equipment. I did then decide to try the CFD Beginners Class and the rest is history. I started with 3 times per week plan then I became hooked to the program which led me changing it to unlimited plan. At my age, approaching 50, I’m already taking 2 medications. After 4 months of CF plus proper diet, my doctor told me to stop both medications. 8 months after, I noticed a big improvement in my physique and all my friends and family compliment the big change. I lost significant weight, my waist line reduced by 3 inches and my BMI index fits within the range of my height and weight. Looking back to my experience doing CF, I would like to give a big credit to the CFD community from the coaches and members who inspire and motivated me to do better. I would recommend joining CFD because of its fun atmosphere and very positive vibe. I am so impressed with CrossFit Doulos, Amanda and her staff!As someone who has not made my health and fitness a priority in my life since the birth of my child, I was intimidated to begin this journey. I doubted my ability to succeed, yet Amanda and every single coach I have encountered has challenged those thoughts and that mindset!If like me you thought you have to walk in there already in optimal shape in order to even participate in CrossFit ...you’re WRONG!Wherever you are physically, COME!Come ready to see yourself grow!I’m so glad I didn’t let fear become my excuse.Not only do you get knowledgeable one on one training and trainers that actually genuinely care about your progress and your growth, but you get the most incredible community of people/members all with the heart to encourage and challenge each other. This is a place that everyone cheers each other on!I initially challenged myself to complete the 6 week challenge and can’t stop now after how much progress and growth I see myself personally making. I am down 21 lbs following Amanda’s diet plan and training 3x a week. I’m addicted! What I just planned to be a weight loss jumpstart for me has now become a lifestyle that I crave. I just officially joined as a member and I am so excited to continue this journey with CrossFit Doulos.

The head trainer, Amanda, is one of the rudest and belligerent people Ive ever had the displeasure of speaking to and dealing with. She doesnt have a full understanding of herself, her profession, or the happenings around her. Ive dealt with crossfit locations throughout the South, and the incompetence she has shown truly reflects on her as a coach. I recommend trying another location and avoiding this place altogether. I hope if you are reading this you take the time to read to the bottom. I walked into Crossfit Doulos having NO idea I was walking into a crossfit program - I watch the crossfit games:)I am a mother of 5 children and I am proud to say that I am 55 years old. I was scared! When I drove up and saw the word crossfit I did not even want to go in. Well I did and it was the BEST thing I EVER did! Amanda could instantly tell my apprehension and talked me though the entire process. I smile every time I think about that day - which was 7 weeks ago today.I signed up for a challenge that I saw on facebook - thinking it was a bootcamp or another fitness program. I have admired crossfit and people who do it but never thought I could do it.I joined the 6 week challenge because I love challenges and I wanted to get my healthy life style back on track - didnt really care about getting money back - I wanted my life back. The food plan I received was awesome and so easy to follow, which is what I needed, I followed it for the entire 6 weeks and have lost 15 pounds to date, there are some people that have lost over 40 pounds in my challenge group and it is tailored to your personal needs. I will continue to follow this plan.What I havent said is that one knee is straight up bone on bone,Amanda and her staff have taken so much time helping me get my strength back and are helping with my range of motion. It hasnt felt this good in years. The members at Crossfit Doulos are like family, everyone of them will come up to you to help and support youMy 6 week challenge is up and I am happy to say I joined Crossfit Doulos and would recommend it to ANYONE!!! NEVER let your FEAR keep you from being someone that you want to be! This place, coaches and members are the absolute BEST -If I could give them a millions stars I would. CFD is an awesome gym! Members of all different athletic backgrounds are welcome & catered to. I personally have had 4 knee surgeries (3 ACLs) and all trainers actively work with me to make me better while making sure that I am moving properly with the right form. I never thought I would be able to be active again after my surgeries, and CFD has provided a way for me to stay healthy and enjoy exercise again.In response to the reviews with less than 5 stars.. im pretty sure “Warren G” is fake (Warren G..feel free to reply to me proving you’re not a troll 🤨). And I’d like to respectfully disagree with Betsy’s review. In my experience the 6 week challenge that CFD runs is clear (I’ve participated in it)- if you lose a certain weight or body fat % goal, you get your money back after the 6 weeks are up. You get results but all is determined by how much you actually put into the program (did you follow the diet plan? Did you attend your work outs? Etc). You get far more than what Betsy is claiming; an actual meal plan that gives you how much to eat of what you’re ALLOWED to have (referencing the columns of proteins, fats and carbs) + all the recipe books and accountability groups. No scams, that’s the deal. If you don’t feel comfortable paying for it up front, then don’t do it. Am I missing something?All in all, CFD has professional staff who care and push each and every member to be better. I would recommend this gym to absolutely anyone!!

The best Crossfit gym in my experience thus far. After four years in the military my back and knees were a bit worse for wear and thanks to the Head coachs extensive knowledge with joint mobility or lack thereof in coaching the various movements and lifts I was able to strengthen my back and knees well enough so to no longer have pain or limited mobility. Amanda will work with you on flexibility and strength issues and at no point are lifts unsupervised, class may be full but there is always someone watching your weight and form and you will be stopped and told to go down in weight if your form suffers or you are straining to achieve a proper lift. There is no ego lifting permitted and even with varying levels of strength all gym members start at low weight so that the coach can observe your form, and only once she is satisfied with your form is weight added incrementally. The programming is various and doesnt allow you to plateau, nor overwork one specific muscle group for that week as i had experienced in previous gyms. The gym atmosphere is that of a lighthearted fun family but still serious and professional as weightlifting is risky. This gym has all of the equipment you would ever need to accomplish Crossfit, Olympic, and related conditioning. The gym is very sanitary and extremely well kept, the restrooms and showers, and floors are cleaned regularly. Gym members wipe down all equipment they used, and the floor if they got chalk or sweat on with disinfecting wipes after every class.

Crossfit Doulos is an amazing place where trainers focus on FORM above all. It is a well balanced box that hits all areas of fitness - cardio, strength, mobility, and conditioning. This friendly and inviting group of Crossfitters welcome any level from beginner to advanced.Amanda Walter, the owner, adds diversity to the box with a variety of events. For example, I recently attended a hip hop class by Groovin and Grindin, coffee grindin that is! Furthermore, there are Olympic Weight Lifting classes, nutrition classes, and member competitions. Amanda sells protein powders, supplements, and pre and post workout drinks; in doing so, she ensures the best quality products for her members. The other trainers, Todd Crosswhite, Noe Farias, and Josh Perkins take pride in the coaching they provide and keep the class interesting.Dr. Zach Benson from Hogan Chiropractic can aide your crossfit experience by offering an assessment to determine functional mobility.You definitely owe it to yourself to check out Crossfit Doulos if you’re searching for a new box or a drop in.
