Made a lace wig for me that didnt stay on my head. For some odd reason they put coloring on it (did not ask for coloring)hat messed up my clothes when I washed the wig. The lace was showing on my forehead.

I recently used this salon as a first timer. I originally had an appointment at a certain time but then it was changed to a different time (no problem). I was running a bit behind schedule so I decided to call and let someone know I was going to be a little late (that went well). Soon after that call ended, I received a call back advising me that my stylist would be tardy too (first problem). My fiance and I sat in the parking lot for quite some time waiting for someone to open the shop (second problem). Finally two women appeared and I was in.My stylist was surprisingly gentle with my head during every process. The only problem I had was she left a small piece of my lace closure lifted underneath on the left side. When it was time to pay (the website states $185) for a sew with a lace or silk closure. Even though my security deposit of ($25) was applied ($10 extra was still trying to be charged (realistically I owed ($160) so that was taken. When I was told that my remaining balance was ($315), I was shocked and felt ripped off.On the site it does say extensions not included; however does not reflect any additional pricing except for theres an increase after the third bundle. My mistake was not inquiring about the extensions but this was the most unprofessional part of my service. This is ashame because I really wanted to make this place my hair salon. I can not afford to take this risk again. For the most part I like my hair (it just wasnt worth it). The saying goes Beauty is Pain Ive walked away more satisfied (paying less money).

The staff here are so nice and professional and always do a good job on my natural hair and wigs. I have the autonmy to get my hair done at anytime and I love it...!!!

Listened on 97.9The Box and discovered this salon. They stated they would be giving away FREE styles for the next day for Tyler Perrys Sistahs Promo. When I discovered the location was nearly and hr away from me I decided to call to see the details on the FREE style. A woman answered and explained yes they were doing the event and FREE styles as calls poured in she became overwhelmed repeatedly placing me on hold multiple times. Any other instance I would simply hang up but they hyped the salon so much on the radio I assumed the services were legit. She suggested a consultation to determine the best option- she could give me a gift certificate to take advantage of the promo and confirmed start time at 8am.I drove all the way to this shop--they were still setting up. I was told to put my email on a card and the gift would go to email but that never happened. After several attempts to reach bk out I finally spoke to the original lady. I suppose business boomed and she wasnt feeling customer friendly--not having a good day at all-- poor communication on thier behalf after apologizing for not recieving a call back she began to explain how BET gave her a certain amount.. fine how much? Tells me a discount of $50 on services.. wow ok thats not what you originally said but what services do you have in that $range? Her response-- Natural styles and silk press.. wow .. seems like she got upset about me referring to her gift as little.. she says oh lets just not do it-- more like ill just end this now..They claim to be 24hrs.. well if Tyler helped with a Promo do it right and make offers CLEAR to give clients. Start at 12am end at 12am.. She had already gave poor customer service originally over the phone and in person so I expected nonsense. A waste of time and gas.. NEVER AGAIN!!

Worst to experience. I made an appointment for my daughter and I and paid the deposit only to find out on the day our appointment our appointment was never created. We asked to leave, and come backan hour later. Someone start Ed on my daughters hair, bit I sat for an an hour and a half, and no one touch Ed my hair. We will be getting my daughters hair, and we will be going to a more establish ment.

I found this salon on Instagram. I called at 1:30a.m. and was greeted professionally over the phone. The receptionist scheduled my appointment for later that morning. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly and professional staff. There was no delay in receiving my hair service and I was thoroughly pleased by the results. The most unethical customer service ever experienced. My Fiancee, a frequent customer of this establishment, received services today and was treated very rudely by the staff in such a way that compelled me to write this review. How dare anyone of any professional business condemn a child for being on their phone or laptop. I don’t know if this staff member has some sick, demented phobia or just honestly hates children but her temperament, conduct and/or personal convictions need to be contained and kept within the confines of her own and left out of what is supposed to be a professional setting.Also, in what and on what planet can one sustain a cosmetology license taking I know over 7 hours styling one client; not braiding but styling a single customer. That in my opinion is in and of itself highly unprofessional and says a lot about that establishment and what they condone on their premises. 7 hours under the care of a “so called” stylist is ridiculous and also reveals a lack of skill and inconsideration for my Fiancée, the value of her time and money. There is no excuse for the lack of professionalism associated with this company. I would NEVER recommend this company nor their services to anyone I associate my name with because unethical conduct toward a child and the time waisted on unprofessional subpar work is not and will never be anything I’d knowingly partake.

I didnt personally use the service but made an appt there to surprise my wife for her birthday. I explained my wifes hair texture & style and I was put in touch with a stylist that could serve her needs. My wife loved how her hair came out & said the stylist was on time.

Lately my experiences here have been unacceptably unprofessional. As a customer my time has not been valued. With my last few appointment made visits, a job that should’ve taken 2 hours literally took up to 8. I was not satisfied at all with my hair and it is an inconvenience to have to return on a later date for corrections to be made ONLY to wait an excessive amount of time again. No one seems to move with neither a sense of urgency or care. I will not be returning, for my most recent visit was the last straw for me.For constructive criticism purposes only, I would highly recommend you guys place value on your client’s time especially if their has been an appointment set. I’m looking for a new loctician... when I arrived the receptionist was on the phone. So I waited for a few moments thinking she would acknowledge me but never did!! As she was about to end the call she walked away and began sweeping the floor in the salon area. I stuck my head in the salon hoping to be acknowledged.... no such luck! Hair Tyme was a life saver. I had previously booked with another braider & put a deposit for Faux Locs, however she canceled on me the day before (less than 24 hours). My husband referred me to Hair Tyme & Joyce was extremely helpful to get me in the next day with a stylist that specialized in Faux Locs. They even provided the hair 🤗. I was super pleased with the climate & professionalism that I experienced while at Hair Tyme. My Faux Locs turned out beautiful & lasted over 6 weeks.Thank you Hair Tyme! I’ll be back ☺️

I have had nothing but great experience since I started seeing Joyce in 2013. Now this is the only person me and my daughter want to do our natural hair. The quality and outcome is always on point.

I had an appointment at 9am and the stylist named Joyce arrived 30min late with no apology. Not to mention she was extremely rude and spoke to me in a demeaning way. She was all over the place answering phone calls and dealing with employees which caused her to take multiple breaks while braiding my hair. The braids came out fine but she gave me more braids then I requested which may have increased the total price. Lastly she is very dishonest because I accidentally over paid for my braids which I take responsibility for but she still took advantage of my mistake and kept all the money. Looking back I definitely should have gone to a different hair salon.

The whole feeling of the salon was chill and welcoming, some of the hairstylist were very friendly and communicative, the owner was very nice and friendly too and it’s a great sight seeing black women do their thang, my stylist was personally very welcoming and really open asked me questions about my hair and all the type of things I’ve done to it and it was just a good experience so far. She left me with a bomb hair silk press on my natural hurr and a nice trim and haircut that was much needed.

Went for silk press and trim. Hair was not trimmed. Had to go to another shop the next day, and paid $25 for a trim. I paid HairTyme $109 for shampoo, conditioner, trim and press on my own hair. This place is overly priced.

I hardly had to say what I wanted to get a great service. A little on the high end but great quality none the less. Thank you Joyce.

I would like to compliment Ashley Johnson who put crochete locs in my hair. My hair is permed but it gets tangled and knotted up very bad. I am so not patience in the process of detangling. However, Mrs. Johnson is the 1st hair stylist who showed patience with detangling my hair and loving it the way it should. I have been to several braiding stylists and 100% of time my hair was pulled out because the stylist was not patient or loving to my hair. This is the 1st place that have given me great hair tips if I use any form of weave or extension. May God bless your business with favor!!

I went to Joyce once before and she did an excellent job. I moved an hour and a half away and went somewhere else that was local and they did a HORRIBLE job! I decided to make that drive back home to Joyce and it was well worth the drive. I have gotten so many compliments on her work and plan to keep going to her from now on. Dont think twice and dont waste your time at other shops, just go to her shop shes the BEST!

I am extremely late to writing a review for this wonderful salon. I received a full head sew in the middle of September before moving to Boston, this being the first time Ive allowed anyone to touch my hair on almost ten years and I must say.....Im very glad that I did!! First off, Joyce (I believe thats her name) was very nice and pleasant to be around, second....she was extremely gentle with my hair during the braiding process, no pain at all! Third.....my sew in came out beautifully, I received so many compliments and last but not least.....the hair!! Chile when I say its the best....I mean it!! The hair never tangled or shed and I was flowing fabulously in the wind LOL, now mind you I did not remove my install until after the new year and I washed it every two weeks in the shower, oh and I even dyed it....still the same beautiful hair as the day it was installed. I recommend this place 1000% and even if you dont go there for service, purchase the hair....either way, you will not be disappointed! You are the only ones I will allow to touch my hair and Im looking forward to my next sew in upon my return to Houston. Thank you!!!

First time to visit Hair Tyme and the owner of the company was very knowledgeable. The stylist did a good job on my hair. Please know that Hair Tyme is very expensive $120 for Satin Press, be prepared for that.

I was in need of getting my hair done for the first day of classes and I had been searching for somewhere to go and found this salon right on Google! Before I get into this review, I would just like to say how bad and much I really wanted to like and make Hair Tyme my permanent hair salon. I have heard lots of great things from a friend and saw good posts on instagram.However, I have received bad service a few times and the last time I went there was the final straw.I had a sew in done and it was pretty good, the only thing I didnt like was how the closure was placed. I came back to get my closure redone and the hair stylist told me that my weave needed to be taken out, but I didnt plan for that at all. I told her I would come back in a few weeks to get it removed because I did not have the time or money. I told her just to fix my closure. I thought she understood me, but the next thing I know all of my sew in had been taken out. I didnt want to make a scene, but I panicked inside and was wondering what quick style can I get done because I was heading back to school and had a sorority initiation the next week. I told her I would get a silk press. The worst silk press I have ever had! My hair is damaged now from heat and when I went home I noticed that she didnt even flat iron the back, so it was a poofy. The lady that did my hair wasnt very friendly either. I just paid her and went on with my day, but then hours after I left she tells me that she made a mistake and didnt charge me everything. I spent $120 for something I didnt want and what upsets is how this led to so much frustration for me.

I loved it! She transformed my hair into something not even I could have in my wildest dreams. Everyone who saw me was smiling and I even managed to make someone cry just upon seeing my hair. My hair stylist is Bonita and she always takes good care of my hair, she is soo polite and nice and very professional. She helps me style my hair which I am transitioning from relaxed to natural. I will definitely be retaining her as my stylist because she has been great so far.

Very slow service. I brought a picture in and didnt get the color or style I desired. I would never go back or recommend this place. The day I went the AC stopped working and you, the owner who did my hair was more concerned with the summer event planned for the children. The main reason it took twice as long to do my color. These ladies can do all hair types! I am a white woman with very fine hair. I wasn’t sure if they specialized in all types of hair, but THEY DO! Joyce took care of me today and I LOVE MY NEW HAIR! This was my first experience with Hair Tyme (Joy) and I will not be going anywhere else to get my dreads maintained. First off the wash that I received was Amazing. She detoxed my hair and let me know what I was previously doing wrong. Then she Scrubbed my scalp and proceeded to wash my hair. My scalp hadnt felt that good since I started growing my hair! The style came out perfect! I was amazed at how healthy it looked after one visit. Im eager to see what my hair will look like months down the line after a few more visits. Id recommend them to anyone wanting theyre stylish to take their time and get it done right!

I walked in their salon ready to give up my natural hair and just get a relaxer. i am EXTREMELY grateful that i was talked out of it and got a thermal treatment instead. they worked on my (what i think is very difficult) natural hair with ease and patience. it did take awhile to do but i did go in late so i can’t blame them. i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going to them if you feel like your hair is so difficult to manage bc they make it seem so easy and it turns out beautiful! 10/10

I would highly recommend this lounge. They were very professional and welcoming. The place was very clean and quiet. I work all the time and barely have time for self. This lounge is open 24 hours per day/7 days per week. So far what is there not to love. My hair! I love it! They were gentle and patient. When I showed them what I waned, I got it. Very pleased. I had an appointment scheduled at 10am for a sew-in but unfortunately the hair I was meant to use didn’t show up in time, so I had to reschedule my appointment twice in one day, but the ladies at Hair Tyme were so accommodating and rescheduled me without issue. They also did a fantastic job with my sew-in! I absolutely RECOMMEND Hair Tyme, if you want the best in quality and professionalism.

Theres only about 3 people on the planet I trust with my hair and Joyce is one of them. Shes been a beast behind the chair since I was in college. I decided to give wigs a rest to start the process of trying to restore the health of my hair that is severely damaged.I visited, Joyce made a recommendation, and scheduled my appointment. Between Elexis straightening my hair and Joyce cutting and styling it, I didnt think I would ever feel that confident wearing my hair out. I needed a touch up a little quicker than anticipated and sure enough Joyce and Elexis tag teamed to get me back right.The salon is very welcoming. On each visit I saw the other stylist perform a variety services from natural hair, relaxed, extensions, dread care, you name it and everyone leaves satisfied. I am so excited to be starting the journey to healthier hair with Joyce and have no plans on going anywhere else. I got a sew in last night and from the time Joyce started until the end I was happy....this was a painless experience, like most women out there getting the braids can be painful and cause you to double think the sew in. But Ill tell you now, if youre contemplating going to see Joyce or not...GO!! You wont regret it!!! I dont have a headache lol and I didnt have take any medication on the day! **side note while I worked on my laptop before Joyce started on my hair, I watched her do a color application on natural hair and after that was washed out it looked GREAT!! That may be the next thing on my list!! BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT TODAY!!

I received excellent customer service & my stylist Joyce was very attentive to my hair.. The salon is nice, clean, & easy to find. I will recommend Hair Tyme to anyone looking for excellent hair care.

If its your first time getting a closure or wear them regularly, I would highly recommend Hair Tyme. All the women are professional and know their trade. I got my hair done in December by Latoya, amazing hair stylist, and ran across a problem with my closure shedding that I purchased from them. In January I called and spoke with Joy and she was immediately helped me out and provided me with a new closure and reinstall for free. Im sure if I went anywhere else it wouldnt have been that easy to resolve the issue. Another added bonus, they sale the hair and closures in the salon. I am so so so super pleased with the service I received today!!!!!I was a walk-in because my hairstylist was booked and had to leave the shop early and I did not know what to do... Schools on Monday and she needed her hair dooooone!I called this place from a recommendation about three years ago from a friend. I just so happen to remember and it was in Sugarland from where I picked up my niece...When I called, the person answering the phone, Chelsea, was extremely accommodating and got me an appointment ASAP.She recommended a few things for me to do before I got there and even quoted me a very very reasonable price!When I arrived, I immediately noticed that the place is beautiful on the inside and they had me seated immediately as well. I didnt wait a great deal of time... Granted, I was a walk-in... So I completely understood. She got my niece in the chair and went to work.Thank God my niece is very very well behaved and she didnt cause any problems... They loved her! And my niece most definitely loves them! They were very sweet, laughing, personable, accommodating, and observant.When I tell you that she did her th-A-ng on my nieces hair! It was amazing. My niece looks so wonderful and its a style that looks exactly like the one I showed her in the picture.So super happy I finally had the pleasure of going to hair tyme. You made me a repeat customer and I will continue to take my niece here... Especially since I heard they have growing hands! This was my first time getting my first sew in and the outcome was beautiful and so amazing !!! Joyce assessed my hair the day before i had walked in and told her what i wanted done and she recommended what would be good with my hair, she was with a client at the moment but stopped what she was doing to make sure i was welcomed and my questions were answered ! She was amazing and so friendly i booked my appointment the next day. When i came in she made recommendations as it was my 1st sew in ever and at the end it was AMAZING i was speechless !!! She is very accommodating and wonderful !! for sure would be coming back & recommending all my friends to come here !! The place is very environmental and feels like home the second you walk in ! it’s about to be a month since i’ve done my sew in and it still looks amazing like day one and perfect ! thank you so much Joyce !!!

Joyce is the best at what she does. My hair looks good every time I leave her salon. She is an incredible stylist. Ive been a client for over 3 years, and thats not going to change anytime soon!!!

First I would like to say that Joyce is awesome!!! What I most like about her is she takes her tyme with your hair and makes sure it is all the way right before you get out of her chair. She is a Young Black Woman doing her thang!!! I dont know when she sleeps because she never stops working and that shows true commitment! I have gotten 4 different sew-ins and was satisfied every time and Im very particular about my hair!!! Thank you Joyce and see you soon!!!

The fact that theyre available for your needs 24hrs, plus mobile and sell beautiful quality brand hair there, is a plus on top of a plus !
