Absolutely fantastic to deal with the lovely crew here.Jim/Jeffrey (so sorry Im blanking on his name) absolutely took care of me and was more than realistic with pricing to install a aftermarket wideband O2 sensor in my aftermarket stainless headers so I can properly tune the vehicle later on.Told me 2 weeks but got me in before then and looked over my 90 miata and pointed out some things I never even knew about exhausts.I will always bring my vehicles here for exhaust work and repairs from now on. Fantastic crew and extremely pleasant to deal with.FYI the owners have changed the hours to 830-430 (see earlier picture) so the owners can take care of themselves medically. Much love

Great father and son team. I just needed a small sleeve expanded. They were honest that it may not work as the pipe could crack. Lucky for me it worked out. They didn’t charge me anything but if I ever need some major work done I’ll be going to them.

My experience at Monterey Muffler Discount Center was absolutely fabulous. I called Jimmy about my muffler; not only was he able to squeeze me in for an appointment the same day, when I arrived he immediately took my car back to the garage. This shop is really cool and Jim is super friendly and very considerate. He was booked the day I cled him but offered to squeeze me in. Jim is amazing, I thought I had an exhaust issue with my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. After spending 20 minutes on the lift checking everything out, he handed me my keys and told me “no issues, no charge”. I highly recommend this family owned business.

Being new to the area I wasnt sure where to take my Ford Explorer 4.6L V8 for a loose tailpipe. The Ford dealer said they dont do that type of work anymore and that I would have to find a muffler shop. I wasnt keen on the chain muffler shops but wanted to find a local and honest family run business.Well, Monterey Muffler fit the bill. The owners are father and son, Jim (aka Senior) and Jim, last name, wait for it, Costanza (like on Seinfeld), I thought that was awesome since I am a Seinfeld fan.Back to business.... Senior and Jim inspected my entire exhaust system, pointed out areas that may need attention and identified that the typical rubber exhaust hanger had stretched which was why the tail pipe was so loose. Jim welded a motor mount type exhaust hanger to my frame (which was better than the original factory design) and the tail pipe is secure and doesnt budge.Thanks Senior and Jim! I appreciate your honesty and skill in doing a job which looked, better and functionally was better than OEM. I highly recommend Monterey Muffler for any exhaust-related job big or small; they specialize in restoring the exhaust systems for classic cars as well.

I was told my Buick needed the exhaust system replaced due to rust, costing $ 350 to $ 400. I was referred to Monterey Muffter by two different. It was so worth the drive to Stuart. Jim was a down to earth honest guy. He called me the next morning to let me know there was a section around the flange that was rusted out and it cost $ 109 to cut out and replace. 🤗

I called for an appt. Tuesday to get an early AM appt. on Wednesday. Jimmy told me he was generally there by 745a so thats when I pulled in, expecting to drop the car and go. Instead, he brought the car right in, got it up, checked it out and repaired it in less than 15m. To top it all off, he wouldnt take any $$ from me.This is not the first time hes done this for me. About a year ago, I brought another car in because I thought there were some issues w/the exhaust system. He quickly put the car on the rack, diagnosed it was not an exhaust system issue and identified it as an issue w/some suspension parts. (This was confirmed by another repair shop who handled that matter.) Again, he wouldnt take a dime from me.This is the definition of an honorable, honest mechanic and I can tell you this- Ill be back and will highly recommend him for exhaust work! Thank you, Jimmy!

This is my second time coming here but this time I brought in my 2018 focus ST and wanted nice exhaust tips and a not so super loud noise and Jim set it up perfectly. Called a couple of times, no answer just a machine. Decided to stop by. Sign says they close at 5:00 PM it was 3:30 and the door was locked. Dont think I would trust leaving my vehicle with them if they ever appear.

What a joke!!! I called two weeks ago and spoke to the owners father followed by the owner himself. I told them I need 1.5 diameter Stainless steel pipes with a 90* bend. They told me no problem come on in we can get it done very quickly! Awesome. Asked them what time they were open until and they said were here till 5 or 530. So I get there 11 minutes before 5pm and they are closed. Call and call and no one answers. Great.So now, today, I have someone go out of their way to get this for me. He shows up and they advise they dont carry stainless and cant even bend the pipes!!!! What a crock. You lied to me over the phone and wasted two trips to your establishment for nothing. I dont ever go out of my way to leave a bad review or to take food off of someones plate, but this is ridiculous. Youre costing me time and money!!!Dont lie to the people who call you. Its that simple!!!I would never ever recommend ANYONE to go to this business!

This review is a long time in the making. December 2015 I brought my E63 to get my resonator delete and they did a awesome job. They put the right size pipe so theres no problem with back pressure and the cut was super clean. I will be bring my CLS63 to get done in a week and will be leaving feedback on that as well.
