We moved here about a year ago and had been looking for an auto shop that we can bring our cars to for whatever we need and we absolutely found it! We went here because our neighbors recommended this business and we’ve had them service our cars three times now and I have nothing but positive things to say. Very straightforward, fair, communicative, and overall have just made our car repairs and state inspections easy. 10/10 would recommend!

European Auto is were I take my Mercedes-Benz in the Alexandria /Springfield area. The costs are fair, service great, good location, the mechanics are clear and honest when talking with you. Ive rarely had to wait even for a last minute emergency visit. William is a stand up guy that I trust with my ride.

Brought my VW here. I had no working heat. I called before I dropped it off to understand what diagnostics would be done to figure out the issue & rough estimate for repair. Right away, I was told the most common issue with no heat was a clogged heater core and given a reasonable estimate to flush the system.William got that done relatively quickly, but noticed the car still didn’t have heat. He called me to let me know that he suspected the thermostat was stuck open and needed to replace that.He still wasn’t happy with the heat my car was producing and wanted to bleed the air out of the line, which required utilizing some outside sources at VW.All in all, I have no doubt that I saved money choosing to come here. The dealership would’ve cost me and arm and a leg on my own. I appreciate the transparency and honesty with pricing. He even gave me money off the original heater core flush - being that it really didn’t solve the problem at first.I appreciate the time and attention my car was given, and the diligence to get my heat back to the working condition it should be. I got my car back ONLY when it was right.William was very accommodating and friendly throughout the process and I will be back for future maintenance and repairs.

Excellent service from start to finish! I came in by myself, a 22 year old woman to see why my check engine light was on. William helped me right away and plugged in the computer. He took the time to explain to me what he would do, and took my car for a test drive with me to see what code would come back on. He wrote down the code for me and sent me to the store to buy the part so he could put it in for me. I got stuck in the parking lot after I went to the store because my starter was stuck! I went back to Williams shop with my father to ask for a number for a tow truck. It was after hours and they appeared to just have closed. Williams partner was still there and he went above and beyond and followed my father and I to the store parking lot. He got my car to start again!!! No tow truck needed! They put the part in quickly for me and made sure my check engine light was off so I can pass my emissions test!! The quality of service is the best I have ever experienced. I highly recommend this place

I was referred here by a colleague, who has been going here for 15 years, and I can certainly see why! My clutch was acting up after a replacement at 130k miles 2 years ago(different mechanic), and I felt that if I did not address this sooner than later, I was in big trouble. Completely anticipating a $1000 clutch replacement, William took a look under the hood, and fixed the issue for less than $100, and in about 10 minutes. Turns out there were some loose bolts on the clutch casing, and if I had driven maybe 30 more miles, my transmission wouldve fallen out of the car. I cannot thank them enough, and will continue to support their business!

Many years ago my wife and I were referred to European Auto, by a friend who was a police officer, of which William has been a managing partner and now sole owner ever since. Hes very honest and Ive never had a doubt about his honesty about what needed repair and what could wait and appreciated it when he suggested I not fix certain things due to cost etc. Hes been in business for a long time and services the Alexandria police department vehicles as far as I know. Bringing your oldish vehicle was always a stressful moment due to trust in the mechanics integrity. But not with William. I have a Mercedes which can be expensive with parts and especially when you you use dishonest mechanics who nickel and dime you. But thats not an issue here!

His team recently changed my oil and referred me to a used tire merchant before discovering threads showing on my wheel before an alignment. I have taken many of my Company vehicles to William, Manager of European Auto.I have never had any complaints of the work performed by him or his employees. I recently brought him a Mercedes that I returned from Colorado in. He found that it had a bent control arm, tie rod and a fried front bearing he was showing this to me and it had actually melted the bearing its a wonder I made it back from Colorado. Went out of their way to try and find the issue with my car even though all I could provide them with was a vague explanation of Uh, the check engine light comes on...sometimes. While there are many good mechanics, William is the most HONEST mechanic you will ever meet. When I asked to change my brakes, he told me that the front were still new and only the rear ones needed to be changed.
