I have lived in Springfield my whole life and have never been to Ricks. They were awesome! I felt comfortable with the first phone call. I have been struggling with the Fiat dealership and every time I go there the work isnt completed or it isnt correct and I have to return and return. I got the work done correctly and the first time at Ricks! If you havent been here for car work, I highly recommend! I will be returning! 😃

Unfortunately I had a less than satisfactory experience when getting an oil change and getting an inspection on my vehicle. I had an appointment at 8 am and I assumed that my vehicle was getting worked on at this time. After waiting 2 hours, with no interaction with any employee, I checked in with a front desk worker who explained that my vehicle hadn’t been looked at because they were running behind. I waited another hour and they still were not finished with my vehicle nor provided me with any updates. I then went back to the front desk to get an update. They then told me that my vehicle was currently being worked on. After another hour I, again, went back up to the front desk and said that I need to leave to get to work. After 30 minutes, I finally got my vehicle. I didn’t leave there until 1 pm. All that said, there were 2 different individuals that were checked out before me who had come in WITHOUT an appointment and 2 others who had the same 8 am appointment as myself. Personally I believe that discrimination played a role in all of this; however, this is merely a speculation. I will not be returning to Ricks and will let everyone know about my experience because this is the second time they’ve take over 2 hours to complete an oil change and inspection during a scheduled visit with extremely poor customer service. The only bright spot in my experience was interacting with a front desk worker by the name of Michael who was extremely helpful and understanding. I am very displeased and disappointed with my experience overall

I was traveling through Springfield on a Thursday night & had to get a tow. I picked the first shop available showing in AAA’s recommendation’s & could not have landed at a better repair facility. Terry Farrow was extremely helpful & understood my needs to continue my trip to get home in Illinois & got me going first thing Friday. Rick’s was the most professional independent repair shop I have experienced & they provided a free transportation service to & from my hotel.Great job & thank you!

I thought Id try Ricks. What a surprise whenI saved over $350 from two estimates given by other repair shops. So, I went back for another repair suggested by another repair shop (one they could not / would not do) only to find out from Ricks that I really didnt need it after all. Another savings of about $200. Refreshing honesty from a repair shop. AWESOME! Needless to say, Ive scheduled work on another vehicle next week. Im only sorry I didnt try Ricks earlier. Thanks Guys!

My first experience at Ricks was fantastic 👏. However I just recently purchased an old 98 Marquis and called to see about getting it serviced and back to its best life. The car had been kept in great condition as is. They transferred me three times before turning me away. They said they do not work on older vehicles. If you have an older vehicle might want to seek out a different shop. They were nice and professional about it but crazy that I couldnt even get my oil or brakes changed due to the year of my vehicle. Or pay them to do a once over to even tell me where to start getting things fixed on it if needed.

I will never go to any other automotive shop. My family has been using Ricks Automotive for years and Ive taken my car there since I moved back to Springfield about 4 years ago. Their prices are reasonable, they dont try to sell you things you dont need. The staff is always kind. The lobby is always clean and comfortable, so if you decide to wait for your cat, you dont have to worry about being uncomfortable. They also have a shuttle service, where the cars are clean and the drivers are courteous and professional.

I had an incident with my car where I had to swerve to avoid another driver who ran a red light and almost hit me, causing me to run up on the curb and do some damage to the drivers side suspension on my car. The impact was also hard enough to crack the windshield. Since I work as a delivery driver using my own vehicle, this was a potential disaster, although fortunately my girlfriend was willing to let me use her car while mine was in the shop. Unfortunately, though, that car did not have working ac, and with the recent weather, doing deliveries was extremely unpleasant.I took my car to another local provider I had worked with before, who held onto my vehicle for over a month, attempting to add unnecessary parts and repairs to the bill which would have pushed it over $4,000, risking the insurance company declaring my car a total. They dragged their feet at every step, including in filing estimates with my insurance, apparently trying to avoid an insurance assessor looking at the car, and gave me every excuse (and occasional outright untruth) in the book. Essentially, it seems they tried to commit insurance fraud, and make me an accessory to it.After it became clear that my efforts with them were going nowhere, I took the car to Ricks. My experience there was like night and day. Eric, who supervised my repair, was especially excellent, explaining in detail everything that needed to be done, without either talking down to me or using so much jargon that I couldnt follow his explanations. He worked on my behalf to find the best parts at the lowest cost, and adhered to his promised time frames, despite parts delays, and even when some of his colleagues were unable to work due to issues with covid-19 vaccination reactions.He worked hand in hand with my insurance assessor, and was transparent with both sides, also acting as an advocate for me to make sure the insurance covered everything that needed to be done, without additional cost to me. At the end of the day, the final total was less than half of what it would have been at the other service provider, and my car now drives better than it did before the accident. Erics professional pride and personal kindness were obvious, as he went above and beyond to make up for the bad experience I had elsewhere.As I say, Eric was great, but everyone at Ricks was friendly, courteous, professional, and supportive. I cannot recommend Ricks highly enough. Not only will I send all my business their way, and suggest my friends and family do the same, but I strongly recommend that anyone reading this review use this outstanding business for their automotive needs. I came here because I heard a lot of good things about them. The first few times I came everything was great except for the seats and door handles are always left greasy. I just cleaned it, no big deal. On my last service I was really disappointed. First of all, I dropped my truck off and asked for a ride home and had to wait 45 minutes and they never told the guy I was waiting. I had to wait several days longer than they said for my parts. I searched the price of it and they charged me more than double. The rep assigned to me didnt keep me well updated, didnt return my calls. Once it was done, the seats and door handles were very greasy and I couldnt remove it all. Quality should include keeping peoples cars clean. I have referred several people to this company but now am not sure I will be going back. Very disappointed.

My daughter was given her grandfathers car. Lately she has had a series of unfortunate events. Her car over heated and she needed it for work. During this crazy time everyone is booked solid for over two weeks. Keith remembered her car and told her to have it towed and they would get to it. In three days they had her car fixed and back to her. They have all been very kind and thoughtful . It makes my husband and I feel much better knowing there is a place that will take care of her car and keep her safe on the road.

Very professional facility, super clean, and very friendly. They explained all problems with my vehicle and what solutions were available. They did not try to pressure me into a sale to fix the problem. I would definitely recommend in you need a repair.

Ricks is my new auto shop, They did an amazing job! Mike, the service manager responsible for over seeing my vehicle repairs, was knowledgeable and explained everything in its entirety. He explained why he thought we needed to do something, and any options we may have. I have an old truck and it needed some things done. I felt like my old vehicle was taken seriously and handled professionally. Ricks, and Mike came in right under my quote, and even manage to fix a couple little things that made my day better, just because it was easy, and right there. Took our 2008 Ford Escape to Ricks for issues with not starting. They got that problem fixed; but I noticed that my service engine light was lit up. It wasnt lit up when I dropped it off to them. You can imagine that I was pretty aggravated & mad. I ended up getting to speak with Tim Fess & Travis Comfort about the problem. If I would have been able to talk to them the previous Friday when I picked up my car. I would have been still angry about the whole situation. I had thought about it!! It was not really anybodys fault, just an unfortunate situation that happened while they were replacing something else. It happens!! What matters is how the problem is resolved. We had a wonderful conversation about the issue & in the end came up with a fair resolution to the problem. What I thought was going to be a horror story from hell became an enjoyable & rewarding experience. They treated us good!! Thank you!!

Complete check over of my 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid at 95,000 miles and then we took a nearly 5,000 miles trip with no problems.

I had Ricks Automotive Replace my timing belt and water pump (preventative maintenance) on my 2015 Honda Pilot. They were able to complete this service for half the price of the Honda dealership down the road from them. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing quality work at an affordable price

I’ve been going to Rick’s Automotive for a good 10 years now and with at least 5 different cars, between me and my wife (2 Toyota Corollas, a Lexus sc400, a BMW 325xi and a VW Passat, which I only list for the sake of context). They’ve always been honest with me and have happily explained issues my car is facing.The best part is, on several occasions, they have suggested not getting things fixed when they weren’t a big deal (and they never have turned out to be) and have been more than happy to refer me to another shop if they knew I could get it fixed for cheaper somewhere else.Oh, and when they do fix it themselves (which is the majority of cases) they do a fantastic job! They take me back home and pick me up if I request it, they keep me updated (and sometimes send pictures via text if words aren’t enough). And in the ten years I’ve been going there, I’ve never had a repair go wrong.This, plus several other small things here and there, are the proof that Rick’s tries it’s utmost to put the customer first. It’s not just talk, it’s the real deal.Big shout out to Keith and Mike, both of whom have helped me out on more than one occasion and have been more than happy to help me out with the odd issues my cars tend to have.Great repairs at an honest price, folks! I recently had this shop do a pre purchase inspection on a vehicle. They found something that needed to be addressed. They made a recommendation and expressed a concern. They walked me through every detail clearly and easy to understand. I have decided to keep the vehicle. The issue brought to my attention is being addressed via warranty but it has to be done at a specific shop. Bottom line is this was my first experience with Ricks and they definitely hit the mark. Looking forward to using them in the future.

Had to make a stop here after coming out of a store to see we had a flat tire. They were the closest place for us to get to. We pulled in about 45 minutes before closing time. We felt bad for showing up as theyre work day was ending but they were nothing but kind, friendly, and helpful! GREAT customer service!

I was at my wits end with mechanics when I decided to give Ricks Automotive a try..... and I am so glad I did. I received so many different opinions from several other mechanic shops I wont name that I had absolutely no idea what was going on with my truck and was afraid the transmission or head gasket was going to blow at any second. I dont know a lot about vehicles so usually I end up getting taken advantage of by mechanic shops.When I called to make an appointment, I called within 5 minutes of closing time and the receptionist was nothing but friendly and polite and got me in the very next day. They came and got my truck from work for free and called me with the results.Micah was extremely informative, super professional but talked to me in a way I understood and not once did I feel like I was being taken advantage of or being pushed towards things I didnt need, etc. He laid out everything that they found, what they thought could be the problem and gave me different options to solve the problems. They even gave me advice if I wanted to take care of the problems at home. Micah was absolutely wonderful.Extremely reasonable price for all the tests they did. They dropped my truck back off at work for free as well. Overall a smooth deal and I will definitely be calling Ricks Automotive for all my vehicular needs!

I am new to Missouri and took my Lexus to a local dealership for maintenance. I was told I needed new tires and brakes and quoted almost $1500.I took my car to Rick’s for a second opinion and was shown that my brakes have almost half their lifespan left before needing replacement, and was quoted a tire replacement of almost $300 less than the dealership. The team was professional, efficient, and the service was superior. Their honesty and integrity has earned my business for life, and I will tell everyone I know to go to Ricks!

I bought a 2004 Sprinter van online. I wanted to have a professional inspect the van prior to making the 8 hour drive to purchase it. I spoke with the folks at Ricks Automotive and they assured me they do a complete pre-purchase inspection. So I paid the $138.00 inspection fee. They advised me the drive belts were showing signs of wear, the battery should be replaced and the tires were dry rotted and should be replaced. That was it. When I asked questions about common Sprinter issues such as black death (leaking injectors) and rumble strip noise they said no such issues and it was a well running van.I made the purchase.I drove the van 8 hours home.In the approximately 1 month I have owned the van I have had to:Replace the exhause manifold gasket - $1500.00Replace the drive shaft - $1174.00Replace a tie rod end - 297.00Perform a 4 wheel alignment - $179.00Replace the EGR Valve - $798.00 and counting. I say and counting because the van is still at the repair shop and I am not sure what the total will be.There is rumble stip noise.There are 2 injectors leaking and will need to be replaced.Aaaaaaand the thing that really rubs some salt in the wound is after spending an another $3948 and counting..... the van will be in the shop until Monday at the earilest.Which means I will not be taking the vacation I have planned for over 9 months.I would most definately NOT recomend Ricks Automotove to do much more than empty the ash trays.If I could go less than 1 star I would

They keep fantastic records and always remember me when I go in! Always fantastic and quick service. Ive tried a few mechanics in Springfield but by far have felt taken care of when I pull out of their drive! They have a shuttle service and worked me in same day once for a screw in my tire!

Unfortunately I have had two cars towed to Rick’s for completely different reasons on separate occasions. Both times the repairs would have been well over the worth of the car. Not having a place to store my vehicle either time, I was kind of between a rock and a hard place. I was embarrassed that this happened to me TWICE. They were never rude. I had my cars in their parking lot for a very long time and I am very grateful that they were so patient with me. Sorry guys! Bad customer...good review.

Please come here if you want your car fixed the right way. Note that this isn’t the cheapest place, but you are absolutely paying for quality. And they have an outstanding financing program to get your car fixed. I was at a loss when my car died and replaced the battery myself. No dice, my car died and I didn’t know what to do. I called Ricks, and not only did the call a tow truck for me, BUT even diagnosed my car and ordered the part needed in the same day without an appointment. Best shop around, hands down!

We stopped at Rick’s Automotive in Springfield at almost closing time with our fan belt shredding. A young man named Nat was already off of work but changed it for us anyway on his own time so we wouldn’t be stranded 2 & 1/2 hours from home. All in all very professional and seems like a good shop. I was only here one time for a diagnostic. They actually did an in depth one and ran tests for 130 bucks unlike some shops that just run codes. They told me the actual problems but unfortunately were wrong about what to fix to solve them. They said I had a vacuum leak from the brake booster which was correct but I told them I had just replaced it. They said it must be faulty. They were wrong, turns out it was the seal between the master cylinder and the booster was missing. Overall they are still better than a lot of other shops.

This is the only place I go because I know they will provide the best services. You guys have done an excellent work on my car. Well, I brought my car for the following services: oil change, replace the car battery, and tire rotation. Well, after that I noticed there was an oil leak. So, I brought the car over. They looked at it and I was told they replaced something....as I recall, an oil filter?! That’s great...knowing the issue have been resolved, until I noticed yet again. So, brought the car the second time with the same issue. I mentioned maybe the cap was loose or had a crack on it, that could cause the oil leak. They looked and worked on it and replaced something, again. Well, let’s hope that this time around that the issue have been resolved. Because if that is the case, I don’t want to go back there the third time with the same issue.All in all, they were accommodated and worked on the car in a timely manner. Thank you.

They ripped the truck bed cover when they hid the old tire inside..why didnt they dispose the old tire?I dont know..they just tried to sneak it in the back and hide it..Very unsatisfied.Sneaky..tried to hide the fact that they ripped the cover.250.00+ to replace it..Did not see a penny.I have pictures of the truck before it was loaded onto the tow truck..cover was fine.Go somewhere else.

We were traveling through Missouri when the a/c unit in our prisoner transport van went out. When we arrived at Green Co jail we were able to drop off our prisoners and did a google search for repair shops I that area. We called several business’s which could not help us. We then called Ricks automotive to see if they could help. We spoke with Micah who told us to bring our van by and he would look at it. We arrived and spoke with Micah about the issue and he told us he would get right on it. Probably about an hour later he cane back and stated we were ready to go. He explained what the issue was that they had to fix and cost was not expensive at all. We were able to get back on the road and quickly deliver our prisoners. I cant imagine any better experience with a mechanic than the many visits to Ricks. Ive lived all over the country and Ricks is what an automotive shop should be. Every service manager Ive spoken with is helpful, willing to explain things, and helps you know whats going. Instead of a half-hearted attempt at a customer waiting room, youll feel more than comfortable if youre waiting, or theyll take you where you need to go. I cant say enough about my trust in this company and appreciation of how theyve made this service what it should be.

Ive always been thrilled with the service that I receive at Ricks. Yesterday was no exception. I have no hesitation taking both of our cars there and recommending Ricks to anyone who asks. The front line staff is always polite and informative. The mechanics are top notch. I went to Ricks a couple of years ago for a second opinion on a major repair. They actually contradicted the first shops opinion and said that I did not need the work done ... then, they didnt even charge me a diagnostic fee for looking at the car. I was amazed and they had me ... Hook, line, and sinker. They are always quick to explain things thoroughly and help me save a buck here and there. Their commercials say its a name you can trust ... I agree.

Scam artests. They wanted $255 to charge my AC and said we will then check it in a month to see if its leaking or needs repairing! I got it done for $50 and guy said if its leaking we will know very soon and just replace the AC unit. Just an easy way to get an extra $200+! Dont go. They will try to get you if you are uncertain or just dont know about something.

First time going here for an oil change, and they are awesome. I got there at 7:30am my car was done at 8:30am. Not a long wait was able to make an appointment ahead of time. And I get a discount for working at the hospital so added bonus. Will be going here again.

I must say as a company they are great. I had a issue with my vehicle and work done, after leaving the general manager their called me and i went back with the issue and he was super professional and listened. That was a first for me. At end of our conversation i feel now that ricks automotive is a superior brand and a great customer service company. Thank you Tim.

So far my experience with them has been great. They diagnosed my car correctly. Did not try any scam bs that I typically get with repair shops. They even suggested I go get another opinion if I want it and I have never come across a repair shop that suggested that. Made me feel like they are an honest and a trustworthy shop.

I decided to try Ricks Automotive because I read a lot of good reviews. My car was leaking break fluid so I decided to bring it in for them to look at. Initially when they called after looking at it they told me they couldn’t find a leak anywhere and although my break pads were not at a dangerous level they recommended me going ahead and getting them changed. I explained that O’Reillys had to put an entire bottle of break fluid into my car so there had to be a leak somewhere. They looked again and called me back saying that they found the leak and it was my break booster. At this point they told me not to worry about my brake pads being replaced because this was a more pressing issue. They gave me an estimate of nearly $1000 (I want to say 970 but I can’t remember the exact number because I was completely mind blown with this price)! They told me it is a hard part to get to and a difficult part to work on (which is true as it turns out). I told them I wanted a second opinion and I picked up my car and took it directly to another mechanic that was recommended by a family member (I should have listened to him in the first place)! With everything, labor and parts I paid $320 at the second place. I would never recommend anyone waste their time with them. They tried to take advantage of me and I am just lucky I had the sense to get my car out of their shop and have it looked at by someone honest.

I started a delivery business in 2005 and the best advice I ever got was to take my pick up trucks to Rick’s Automotive. I’ve never had to miss a single day of work in my 6 day a week job because of truck problems. I’m in awe of all the people who make up this quality business and feel privileged to be a customer!
