We found 7 inches of water in the basement and Brian was there within 30 minutes to fix the leak! Great work and speedy response time. Highly recommend.

We have been customers for over 5 years, using HB for our oil & propane budget plans. There have been a few times that we have had to call after hours (nights, weekends and even a holiday) regarding water issues, and they have been incredibly prompt. The most recent incident was a flooded basement. The on-call tech was able to talk me through finding the problem, shutting off the valve to the broken pipe, and saving me a boat load of money. He could have simply come out that night and charged me far more, than patching the issue and coming out on a regular business day. Thank you Brian!

We originally switched to HB from L&G for our propane, because L&G provided such poor customer service. When our furnace started to fail and we received the same poor customer service from Gary Jackson Heating Service for that, we decided to reach out to HB to help with that as well. The team at HB has been phenomenal! Every person weve interacted with there is friendly, professional, and helpful. They truly care about their customers, and we highly recommend them!

After 5-years of procrastination, we finally decided to have HB install the Heat Pump Mini-split System for AC and lower temperature heating for our downstairs and upstairs. We found the AC mode worked remarkably well this past summer for cooling during the high temperature days. Recently, we switched them to the heating mode, as the temperatures dropped into the 40s and 30s. We have been equally impressed with their performance. Very Happy heat pump owners.

1/15/01Brian came out on short notice to service my pellet stove when it was not working. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, responsive and Covid-safe. I would highly recommend HB Energy Solutions!

Do your homework before using them for a service call, get everything in writing so they can’t tack charges you didn’t know existed.I had HB Energy install a mini split a few years ago and I was very happy with the service, their technicians were great and I was pleased with their work.However..... I called them to do an annual cleaning I was given an appointment time and quoted a rate. I asked if there were additional charges and I was informed that if it took the Tech longer than expected we would be charged for the additional time.Apparently I didn’t ask if they were going to charge me travel time. This wasn’t an off-hours call (and it wasn’t mentioned at the time, but I was told that had I asked about it they would have told me) so I didn’t expect this.When I received the bill they charged me 1.75 hrs labor (first hour plus addl .75) even though the tech was here about 45 min. I was told they would only charge addl if the job went longer than an hour, I guess they forgot to mention I would be on the hook for addl time if they stopped at McDonald’s because of the drive time.They also charged me extra because they used a backpack sprayer to clean the mini-split, the owner of the company tried to explain that specialized equipment cost a lot and they need to pay for it..... it’s a backpack sprayer, I shouldn’t be charged $19 for tools you use to do your job..... that’s built into the cost of the service and it was never disclosed when I called for a quote.I called to question the bill and they admitted they over charged me by 15 minutes on the labor charge (oopsie... but we are sticking to our trip charge we never disclosed). I also got various explanations on the pressure washer charge, again it was power backpack sprayer I can buy for $160 but apparently they are charging all their customers $19 to use it to do the job I am already paying forLastly the owner called me back to let me know I made one of his employees cry and that he was done with me, he didn’t really seem to care about his accounting practices or lack of disclosures.I will close saying they have good techs but get in writing what any service calls charges are because apparently you have to ask about specific items that you may not know existed in order to get full disclosure

Over the past several years my wife and I have had several excellent experiences with HB. From plumbing and electrical work that helped us sell our first home to more plumbing and electrical we didn’t know we would need when we bought our second home. In stressful situations the team at HB Energy have always come through with flying colors. They deliver our oil (on our annoyingly steep and icy road) they service our furnace, clean our wood stove, pump the septic, install our hot water tanks, trouble shoot utilities that I don’t even know how to describe and are always responsive and professional. They do it all and do it all well. We can’t thank them or recommend them enough to friends and family.

Christmas Day Flooding event in Springfield, Vermont: I want to thank HB Energy for saving my life last night. Brian came over and pumped my basement, put hydraulic cement on cracks where the water was coming in at the foundation and then returned with cement blocks and put my washer up on them. All day long I used my shop vac to suck up the water, pour it into the washer and spin it out until it was coming in faster than I could keep up with it and I couldn’t lift the shop vac any longer. I was panicked when our heat stopped functioning facing a freezing cold night. I called HBs answering service and Brian called back with 10 min. He was professional, friendly and patient and best of all he walked me through some steps over the phone to help me figure out the problem to avoid what would have likely been an expensive after hours call. I have heard stories of some other places not being very responsive or reliable and of course we all worry about being overcharged but Brian from HB put my concerns at ease. I would have no problem calling HB again!

Brian, a technician from HB came to my house Saturday evening in response to a no heat call. He then called to explain that he would need to replace one of the parts of our furnace. Although the next day was Sunday, he called his supplier at home & was able to order the part whicharrived on Monday morning. He then came back to my house, fixed our furnace & saved me from losing the renters that were staying at my house. I am extremely impressed with his knowledge & willingness to go out of his way to do this repair.

Hired HB Energy for total Off Grid Project! Highly recommend HB for this type of project. In 2019, I purchased a not so completed kit cabin up on a mountainside with 60 acres and a tough driveway (aka class IV road). I hired HB Energy because they provided all the services I would need under one company. Smart business plan Tom! HB provided extensive electrical and plumbing work. They installed two Rinnai propane heaters, a Rinnai on-demand tankless water heater, a large solar array, washer and dryer, cooktop and a Generac generator. There were a lot of moving parts, but the employees at HB were great to work with and all became good friends. I am planning on constructing another off the grid project nearby and will definitely use HB Energy again! Thank you Tom, Alicia, Eric, Jim and Matt. You guys rock!

HB Energy recently installed a mini-split system for us. From our first contact with Brian to post-completion of the project we have been impressed by Brian’s patience with our many and oft-repeated questions, his expertise on the subject of mini-split heat pumps, his willingness to work with our aesthetic concerns (including “thinking outside the box”), his meticulous attention to detail, and his supervision of his team throughout the process. Everyone on the team was pleasant to have around and did a fine job of “leaving no trace behind” when wrapping up the project.

I can highly recommend! Brian went above and beyond when I needed help with my wood pellet stove. Once it was repaired he took the time to run through a quick lesson on how to operate it. Folks in the office were extremely helpful and friendly with questions, setting appointments and billing.

We had an issue this winter with Frozen Pipes, we called HB and were delighted with the service we received. When ever I need a trades person there are 4 things I look for, 1. High Quality Work, 2. Trustworthy, 3. Punctual, 4. Fair price. HB ticked all of these boxes, also worth noting they were super friendly! Brian was great!

Please take the time to think about choosing this company for your heating and plumbing needs. Especially if you have children to keep warm during the colder seasons. We only had 3 service calls with our new home we purchased in 2020. ( The previous owners started service with them in 2016!) Well, it ended with the owner cancelling our account without them notifying us or giving us a reason as to why. (I am typing this as our house sits at 50 degrees with two babies in our home.) With this surprising news, we have no choice but to start the whole process over with another company, we have to do credit checks, applications and a tank inspection so we are now forced to wait a week+ and an ungodly expensive mini- self fuel runs to help us get through until the new company can come out. This is the situation HB Solutions had left us in. Blind-sided and cold!My husband and I were beyond ourselves! I decided to take a moment to breath and called back. I asked to speak with the actual owner himself. I let him talk for a good 4 minutes, He was nice, I can hear it in his voice that he was the man in the middle of this entire situation. Meanwhile my husband was looking in a panic for other companies, while I tried to figure this out. We would have much rather give our money to local small business. The owner proceeded to tell me that he has 3 employees who told him they were abused by us. That he has no other choice..he gave me a 3 minute talk about abuse. I told him what really happened. That it was 1 isolated situation and that we are not abusers. That we are good paying customers, never late on any bills and that he is losing customer(s) because 2 associates who were in the wrong defended each others wrongful actions and the other woman who blindsided us with the news jumped on their bandwagon of false claims that we are “abusive customers”. I honestly am glad that the owner, took the time to listen to his employees and support them. (You don’t often see that these days.) But in this case, his employees were in the wrong, not once. Not twice, not 3 times, but 4 times! They had continuously refused us oil and accused us of not paying an invoice that didn’t exist. ( per their own discount), they accused us of being abusive, they penalized us and made our account “COD” and laughed at us. - A more detailed version of this experience will be on Facebook and the BBB website. They have a limit on here. So please take the time to read it...Maybe it will save you from a situation like the one we are in now...If you are a current customer, be warned. Do-not-ask-for-any-discounts!! Its like getting blood from a stone and they ultimately make you pay for it in the end. Follow a more in depth review of HB on Amanda Colemans fb page. I think that George does a great job making sure they provide good pellets and Brian on the service side does a great job keeping my home warm. I shopped around simply to get my new house up and running and I either didn’t get a call back or was directed to go online and figure it out myself..not HB Energy! I had a meeting on May 21 with Brian Hernon from HB Energy Solutions concerning A/C upgrades at my business. Brian did an inspection of the building and indicated that he would be in touch in 2-3 days by email with an estimate and a couple of working ideas for solutions for my shop.I hadn’t received any information by May 27th, so I gave him a call to see where we were in the process knowing that Memorial Day weekend could have slowed things down. There was a bad connection so I asked Brian to give me a call back. He said he would that afternoon. I never heard from him.On Thursday, May 28th, I called again with no answer and left a message and received no call back.On Friday, May 29th I called Brian again and he indicated that he was on the road but he had some information worked up and would send it to me via email. I received no information.On Tuesday, June 2nd I still had heard nothing so I called Brian again, again he indicated that he would email me the estimates that afternoon and follow up with a phone call to discuss options. No email came. No phone call came.On Wed, June 3rd I called Brian once more and left a message asking if he could please call me and give me some sort of indication of the estimate, or if not let me know that it would be better to look elsewhere. I received no call back so I called the HB Energy Solutions office and explained the events up to that point and asked if someone could find out if there was an issue or get me the estimate information. I cannot remember the name of the individual I spoke with, but she said that she would check into it and get right back to me. I received no call and no email.On Thursday, June 4th I called Brian once more and left a message indicating that I no longer wanted their estimates and that I didn’t wish for them to contact me any further.Today, Friday, June 5th, Brian called my shop to speak to me (I wasn’t in) and asked for my email to send the info. It’s 9:25pm, I still haven’t received the info.The monumental lack of communication and lack of professionalism displayed by this company makes me wonder how they continue to stay in business. Certainly businesses become busy and follow-ups can fall through the cracks, but for a potential customer to have to maintain that level of persistence to even get an email or phone estimate is astounding, particularly when I STILL haven’t received anything. I recommend looking elsewhere for your HVAC needs.

Switched to HB about 5 years ago and have never had an issue. I use them for both oil and propane and they have never failed to meet their commitments and have always been a pleasure to deal with on the phone. Once I ran out of propane (not their fault I wasnt keeping track and wasnt on a scheduled delivery service) I called in a bit of a panic and they came right away and made sure I had hot water again. I had this happen once before with another local supplier and ended up waiting 8 days before I cold get a fill. 8 days with no hot water and 3 kids is a nightmare HB has saved me from. I cant recommend them enough.

I would give 0 stars if I could since these guys especially Tom are crooks. They will take your money without a second thought and are very immoral people. Dont trust them!

Just want to give a shout out to my Mitsubishi split pump. We put it in the salon last year and this is our second winter with it. Best investment I ever made. The building is brick and it was very difficult to keep warm in the winter and to keep cool in the summer. This unit does both. I would recommend getting one if you have difficulties warming or cooling your home or business. Very little change in my electric bill, and I very rarely use the gas anymore. A little something about installation, Brian came in early before we opened so there was no lag in closing the shop. Anytime I needed to ask a question he was right there to help. If you’re thinking of getting one, get one !!

I have been a long-time customer of HB Energy Solutions. They have provided a variety of services to my family over the years. I have always had extremely positive experiences, from talking with the office staff to dealing with the technicians who come to my home. Everyone is courteous, friendly, and helpful. The two most recent engagements with HB involved the installation of a bathroom vanity and a discussion regarding alternative energy options. First, the plumbers who came to install the vanity were very clean and conscientious in their work. They set up a second vanity in our bathroom. They carefully removed the old piece and installed the new one without any damage to the walls or mess left behind. Secondly, I have been speaking with the manager of the alternative energy division about some different options for our house. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions about pellet stoves and also how solar power could help us save money on our energy bills. We plan to use HB Energy for these upcoming projects and others in our future.The HB Energy staff truly know how to provide customers with excellent service.

We have a home in Andover Vermont and after 35 years decided to do a major renovation. We shopped for a heating and air conditioning company to upgrade our system along with a new generator. Brian from H&B came out and provided us with a generator and a Mitsubishi system for heating & air conditioning. Have to say the service and workmanship was outstanding. Brian was always available to answer any questions and just a great guy to deal with. Service and a company providing exactly what they say they will was really nice to have. My mother was looking for help with a frozen water pipe and after the second day of no assistance from HB. the female individual who answered the phone when she called again said to go to home depot, buy some heaters and put them there. This is down right unacceptable for any individual taking phone calls at a company let alone an appropriate way to treat a customer.I highly suggest using any other heating or plumbing company, that way you atleast get the help you need and the respect deserving of customer.PS: My mother called 3 other heating and plumbing companies all of which were significantly more polite and helpful.

I have used a variety of HB’s services over the last five years, from oil delivery to tank replacement to pellet stove service and repair. HB provides great service, and their technicians are always extremely polite and helpful. Please, think twice about using this company. We contracted this company to do an oil tank inspection report at our home we were under contract to sell. When the oil tank inspection was done, my husband, a licensed HVAC with over 25+ years of experience, scanned copies of this document to send to our realtor. Ten days later, a person at HB Fuels (I will not mention his name here), that had NEVER seen the tank, altered the oil tank report, based on statements and pictures he claims he received from the buyers agent. The sad thing is, we have never even been shown said pictures, so we are not even sure the pictures are of our oil tank. Sadly, due to the unethical alterations we lost the sale on our home. I would highly suggest using another company so that your reports dont suddenly change too! We are now out the sale of the home, because of their alterations. Please, go elsewhere.

Absolutely the most dishonest company you could do business with loaded my basement with fuel oil never checked the fill line before for filling also serviced an operable burner after the service it never worked again after several attempts advertise the lowest prices but every other company in is either the same or lower charged me with all failed services and never attempted to remedy stay away there several other honest companies
