Great 1st experience at Porters Barber Shop

My son has hair that seems to be difficult to cut and Blaine did an amazing job. There are no visible lines and he gave exactly the cut my son had asked for. The vibe of the place is great and everyone was so friendly, but we will definitely go back just for the quality of the cut!

Love this place! Take my two year old son here to get his hair cut. Always a wonderful job. Joel, you are like magic with him. We have been going here for months. Love the staff and clients, always so kind and welcoming. Never leave there without laughing. Go check them out in the wonderful Garland district in Spokane.

10/10 would recommend coming here. They dont accept card be warned. The environment of the shop is like a super cool hipster place. The people are super chill tho. Definitely clear your schedule for the cut tho. If you want a quality cut, you dont want to rush your barber. If youre worried about time? Id say mine was about 45min-1hr, but that was for a sick fade and hair cut. Also comes with a complimentary hair wash and styling. Well idk if its complimentary, but I got mine without asking. Price? Im pretty sure it was $25. If you have a crew of people to join you or just for moral support, they have a nice couch and a cooler full of drinks. Ill definitely be coming back here again. Im a transfer college student so I was looking for a dependable place to go to and I struck gold finding this place. You wont be disappointed with this place.

Ive been going to these guys for over a year and a half, and every cut is perfect. I now spend more of my time out of Spokane, but make the 4 hour drive back here when its time, theyre worth it. Atmosphere is also pretty laid back, makes this place pretty unique. I did have to make my first appointment ahead of time, they stay pretty busy, but I never regretted it.

I started going to Porters about a year ago after I was tired of receiving low-quality haircuts at a local salon. I live over an hour out of Spokane but it is totally worth it. When I know I am coming up I give them a call. Blaine is great and a real master! I have had my hair cut at least 8 times here and have never been disappointed. Some may complain about the appointments not walk-ins but it allows the barbers to focus on you and give you their undivided attention and not rush through. It is totally worth it. Superb haircut, straight razor shave, shampoo, and hot towels!! I have never had a hot shave here but kinda want to before heading leaving the PNW this summer. Conversation is great! I plan on growing my hair out down to chin length just for a change of pace and asked Blaine if he cuts long hair too and he said yes. These barbers are great. While Ive been there I have seen anyone from older guys getting their flattop spruced up to teenagers getting a trim. Give them a try!!

Blaine has been cutting my hair since I moved to Spokane 5 years ago and Ive never had a bad experience. The shampoo & rinse at the end of the cut is a nice extra touch that you wont find at most other Barber shops. By appointment only, so call ahead.

Just had my hair cut here from Blaine, the owner. His attention to detail is impeccable and you can tell he really cares about his craft. The haircut was great, the prices reasonable, and I could not recommend this place more. This place is everything a barbershop should be.

I have had my hair cut by Blaine twice now. Love the chill environment. Hot towels. They clean up your lines with a blade leaving you sharp. Well worth it in my opinion.

Ive been coming here for years. Blaine, the owner, is an absolute beast with the clippers, ready and willing to do everything possible to give you the best cut. So long as youre punctual - time is money, especially in this business - he will bend over backwards to make your hair dream a reality. Look up Ceneca Crane from the Hunger Games movies... He gave me that beard cut for Halloween several years ago. Truly, a phenomenal place, and a phenomenal experience, even after all these years.

Ive been going to Chris for several years. I like having an appointment because there is no wait time. I always schedule my next appointment at the time of my haircut and that way I always get in when it works for me. Chris does an excellent job and the shop is clean and friendly.

Gotta say - never got my haircut there. I traveled 45 min in the snow and through bad traffic based on a recommendation to try these guys out. I arrived a few minutes after the appointment time after trying to find a parking space (extremely difficult) only to get yelled at when I walked in.Some guy (I think it was the owner, not sure) who was just sitting there decided he would curse me out rather than try to fit me in or offer to reschedule. I understand they are appointment only and thing happen, but their reaction was truly deplorable.And from reading another review where the owner (purposely?) botched some guys haircut because he was late, Im glad I didnt try to reschedule.WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL TELL EVERYONE TO NOT GO THERE

I am a 63 year old guy who avoided barbers for most of his entire life. When my wife told me that she was through cutting my hair, I panicked a little. After researching small independent barbers in the area, I tried Porters and I was amused, entertained and pleased during my first visit.... yes, most of the employess have tats or facial hair. But their clients generally don’t. The decor consists of garage find art. It is refreshing and a fun and cheerful place to visit.After about three years I decided that I needed to write a review. Blaine has always been friendly and capable, and I greatly enjoy talking with him. Having to make an appointment is not a problem for me. I have to shake my head at the negative reviews concerning “no walk-ins” - this long standing policy is prominent on the door and on the website. It should be no shock when a customer is refused service. Downrating a business for unsuccessfully trying to violate their business policy is petty and mean spirited.The other side of the coin is that if you make an appointment, you should try to arrive a few minutes early, so that your barber does not have to wait, and so that his other customers arriving after you are not affected by your tardiness.You out-of-towners are just out of luck, there are plenty of walk-in shops for you to try.Cash only. Im a pilot and I tend to get my hair cut on overnights. Porters Barbershop is the kind of place I look for, and sadly, these kinds of places are few and far between.These guys are no joke. Why the hell would you frequent a pandering sports-themed chain man salon and have your hair cut by a giggling beautician when you can visit a MANS barber shop like Porters? (Ok, other than the fact that there are chicks at the man salon)Blaine, the owner, and a very cool dude, cut my hair today, and he was courteous, friendly, meticulous, and he genuinely wanted to give me the haircut I wanted. No rush at all. PBR in the fridge. Hot rod magazines. Professionals who take pride in and enjoy their craft. Check it out.

Porters is overrated. The haircut was not at all great. It was so uneven, looks like a work of an amateur. The fact that walk-ins are not welcome is laughable, and if you become late for a few minutes they wont let you proceed even if there is nobody waiting. I will never come here again.

Mini Cooper driver advertising this shop sets a bad impression with extremely rude driving practices. Remember: when advertising a business its important to show your good side first! I would never do business here based on the fisrt impression I was afforded.

My son has been a loyal customer of Blaines for over a year. Due to unforeseen traffic, even with leaving the house an hour before his appointment my son ended up being 5 mins late. Although my son apologized profusely for it Blaine took it to an unprofessional level by basically bitching my son out and making him feel even worse than he was already feeling. But the kick to the face was when Blaine took his anger out on the haircut itself, it is the worst haircut I have seen and paid for--literally what you would expect to see from a new barber at Smoov Cuts. And to make matters even worse this haircut was supposed to be for his senior pictures. So now, we try to renew our sons low esteem due to the terrible haircut he received, reschedule the Senior Photos and wait for the grow out, and find a new barber. Haircuts are walking advertisements so we will gladly tell people where my son got this cut and it will NOT be a positive review either. We will never return to Porters nor refer anybody here ever again based on Blaines unprofessional behavior. Catch Blaine on a good day and youve got a decent cut, dont be 5 mins late or hell Edward Scissorhands you 👎🏽

I walked in and asked for a hair cut. The guy laughed and said were appointment only buddy. Seems to think very highly of himself and his business. Hope that works well for them long term. Many many other places in our area to choose from.
