The white guy that cut my hair was very rude! Just because I had a credit card and not cash with me, he started cursing out and saying trash. His cut wasn’t even that good. Waste of $35. I won’t recommend this place to my enemy. One less customer they have to deal with. I just moved to Reno and I know I won’t be going there even if it’s only option I have.

Trust me, this place is the real deal🥇(considering Im black). After so many disappointing haircuts from barbers for a year in Reno, I decided to check Top Notch Barber Shop, Sparks (friend recommendation/shes white... just to say the barbers are just excellent, no matter the type of hair you got). I like the fact that I just have to show(picture)/say what I want and Charles (the barber I always visit there) will have it done (precisely). Leaving the barbershop with a big smile, more importantly with nice clean cut 🙋🏿‍♂️!

By far I believe this to be the hands down best barbers in the city. However the lines and appointments have never been easy to decipher. You come in and arent greeted by anyone to often and if your really trying to get information a straight answer may not be in the near future. As they say you do wait for the things you desire though. So just sit around. Theyre fair enough. And remember always make eye contact with the barber your after at least 3 times. Enjoy the Maybach Music and yes theres an ATM present.Ps they only take cash.

I walked in with a mop on my head, grew it out for 8 months and Derek(one of the barbers) gave me the best fade I’ve ever gotten in my life. Great environment too with the NBA game on .Great place if you want to look sharp.

I recently moved to Fallon NV for a job. After a few weeks of searching for a barber, one of my coworkers suggested Top Notch in Reno( hr drive) Ive been there a few times with no issues except for the wait time. They do an AMAZING JOB with a good price.

I went into the Top Notch barber shop on a whim because my wife was going to Core Obsession next door. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to see an upbeat atmosphere and several barbers so my wait was not long even though they were very busy. In awhile, they had me in the barber chair and on my way to a great hair cut!! Charles helped me and I understood through our conversation he was the owner and had been in business many years (I think he said 12?). Anyway, I will be going back. I enjoyed my visit and the cut was supreme!By the way... Charles, Jackie Smallwood says Hi.. he says you grew up together!

I moved to Reno 6 months ago and Top Notch has been the only place I went to since I moved here. This will be the only place I come to for haircut. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. And I plan on making a special appearance tomorrow to bet the best haircut by people who really care.

Ive worn a beard for a couple of years now. Ive never had the same person cut it twice because every time I have someone cut it, they do something terribly wrong. I saw Derrek today as a walk-in, my first time in Top Notch. I told Derrek about the problems Ive had with other barbers. He listened, took his time, and edged my beard up nicely. I will certainly be back.

It was cool for a community business but a bit pricey.

They did a poor job cutting my hair. I didnt even ask for my hairline to be cut, and when I got home I realized they did a poor job aligning it too. Also my side hair was also longer than my top hair even though I asked for a fade. I dont mind the messy environment or the loud, hostile conversations, but if youre going to charge $30, at least do a good job! I had to go to another barber the next day to fix the mess because I work with clients on a daily basis and need to at least look somewhat professional. Avoid this place at all costs, there are better and more cheaper barbers in Reno and Sparks.

This place gave me the first really good haircut Ive had since moving to Nv. It was the owner I got the cut from, he straight kept it 💈Barber💈which is a rare thing now a days. I would suggest tryin him out his name was Charles I think. If you know what its like to go to a real barber youll know ole boy is the real deal as soon as you sit down!

Long story short my daughter in law wanted my sweet little grandson to get a Mohawk in his 1st birthday. FYI he is the cutest little white boy you will ever see and he doesn’t have lotsa hair yet! Ty was absolutely amazing handling 5 grandparents and an auntie with phones and FaceTime and a less than cooperative baby! Surprisingly he managed to get our little guys hair trimmed and to top things off he is a Raiders fan🏈🏈🏈🏈 Looking forward to the next time!!!!

Scheduled an appointment a week ahead of time for 930am came in on the scheduled day at 9 and still a no show, also watch the kids haircut old barbers dont really put precision into children fades

Ive taken my son here a few times. Out of all the times Ive gone their only once did he come out with a decent fade. Last time he went there we waited for almost two hours for a cut despite him being told he would be next. The person that did his hair mustve been annoyed because when my son came out he looked like he was sporting a fade that was already growing out. So disappointing...

I’m stationed in Fallon and got recommended to come here. Derek cut my hair and it was so sloppy. He push my hairline back with his razor. I asked for a simple line up and neck taper and he starts cutting my fro. My line up was also sloppy. It looked like I never went in and got a cut. There was no definition on the line up. Looked like his clippers were dull. My hairline is bumped up also. This was a first for me because this never happens. Dirty clippers I guess. It was by far the worse haircut I’ve got. Tried to second chance it and let another person try and fix it and they told me to go back to the same barber. Why would I go back to the guy who pushed my hairline back and messed up a simple line up?? What a waste of $25, yeh because he still charged me.

Shout out to Derek.. Hes always taking care of me.. Any hair problems, he solves it, gives me great advice, the shop is real, family oriented && my wife and kids love to come with me when I get faded.

Worst barber shop I have ever been too. It cost $40 for a razor fade. I thought they were joking when they told me the price and then I saw that it was was written on the price menu at $40. I have been getting high razor fades (Marine Corp) for 12 years now and have never paid more then $25. I pay $12 at the shops outside the base, $15 in the city and $25 at places that dont do them very often. Granted, the $12 places do them all day long and thats why it is so cheap but I have paid $25 quite a few times while traveling for a good high razor fade and there is no issue with that. But when it jumps up to $40 that is when things are getting a little crazy. Are you supposed to tip like I always do when youre paying $40? This is crazy. Not only is $40 unacceptably high, but the young guy who did it only gave me a Medium razor, not high; and said that it would take another 30 minutes to redo it an inch higher. I appreciated that the young barbers in this shop think of it as an art, but at the same time, it must have a reasonable time constraint and a reasonable cost. Thats great if the barber thinks it is art and takes 55 minutes like mine did but thats why they think they can charge $40. This place is no good for anyone that likes to get their hair cut 3/4 times a month. I found a new place and the razor fades are $15 and I tip another $5. So its $80 a month for my 4 razor fades. At top notch it would be $160 haha. I think Id rather go lease a cheap car. Even if they cut their prices by 25% it wouldnt be enough. Sorry guys, but Top Notch is no good. Thanks.

Barber left a patch of long hairs in the back of my head. Got home to brush my hair because I have waves and seen it. Every time I go there something goes wrong. I should have known better. And if you book a appointment just dont have anything planned after because it wont be on time and will be delayed.

I brought my son in for a frohawk/blended fade pretty simple. I will say Worst worst worst place I ever been. They put some older guy who tried but still need training in my son head. He cut up my son head with those dull blades. His lineup and fade was horrible and his frohawk was not a frohawk. I will never come visit here again horrible work.

This is by far the worst place to get a haircut in Reno. Im fairly new to the area and was searching around a few places to get my hair cut permanently. Unfortunately this was one of the places I thought to check out. I had made an appointment a few days prior(2:30p.m.) with AJ. The moment I walk in (2:15p.m.), I wasnt greeted in any shape or form. I look towards the guy who I set up the oppontment with and see hes with another guy, which I dont mind waiting that wasnt the problem. A whole hour goes by, I started to get a little annoyed but decided if I waited this long to get a haircut might as well wait the rest. An hour and thirty mins go by so I finally decide to leave. As soon as they saw me get up and leave I could hear all of them laughing, as if they had did it on purpose. I dont mind waiting that long at places that dont set up appointments, the fact is I set an appointment because I had a place to be. Im not usually one to write bad reviews either. Out of all the barbershops in Reno, I highly suggest Maxwells Barbor shop (its usually 45mins to an hour) but well worth it!

Please let me know when yall are opening back up. I cant wait to get a sick @$$ fade from your pros.
