Very nice experience. This is a high end spin/indoor cycling workout; it costs the part but you get a really nice experience too.As someone who has taken up cycling to replace walking as a greater excercise its difficult for me to want to do Cyclebar in any significant amounts. The outdoors and all its treasures beckons. Theres nothing like seeing animals as they dont recognize your bike sound and dont run unlike walking through the forest. Theres nothing like the performance and handling of a bicycle, feeling the power transfer and rotating your bike around curves. Then again on a bike you dont push yourself as much because you always need a reserve. You dont want to overdo a hill because some climbs are over a mile long. Your ride could be quite long and no matter what shape youre in, how much you excercise and what kind of triatholon Greek statue God youve become, when youre out there in the elements regardless of your sport you always need to leave a little bit on performance on the table to have enough endurance left to get home. No sense in cramping yourself out on the water or in the forest, thats dangerous. Add in having to moderate speed for less than ideal conditions, sand, curvey roads, bumps or dangerous downhills you get the point. At Cyclebar, the only thing to make you cry Uncle is your own endurance so its something you can push much harder instead. With Cycle bar its nice because the instructor encourages you. I had Jenna and she was really nice. They tell you how fast to pedal and how much resistance to use but you can do whatever you want so in a way this is a very engaging way to skirt the anaerobic threshold and expand on your limits. The music is nice, intense enough to pump you up but generally not obnoxious or obscene, no grating hard core rap or satanic death-metal. The instructors are really nice, encouraging, polite and professional giving you tips. The clientele is also clean cut and mostly in good shape. Its obvious different people are at different levels of their training but the attitude is all the same, everyone wants to work on taking good care of themselves to feel and live better.I dont think I will go very often to Cyclebar. Id rather be outdoors doing the real thing and have many hobbies that cater to that. If youre already involved in stuff like that the draw to a gym like this is far less but not zero. Cycle bar is branded to people who have a hard time going out there and need the encouragement. On the other hand I could definitely see using it every once in a while and the money indoor exercise equipment (YUK) costs pays for a lot of visits here. For sure if you need some help getting started to a better you, this is an outstanding place to start or go. If youre already doing good things for your body, its something different to get into as an adjunct to your training. Not as good as the real thing, but it has its perks. I highly recommend trying out their free package to start.
I stop in for a free trial, I have tried Cycling at LA Fitness before 2-3 times. I was super impressed how Friendly everyone was I got a free water bottle and locked and I was off cycling. Much better music and bikes here Vs LA fitness I like how you can race people at certain points which makes it like a game. After the cycle you get nice towels to cool you off and even banana’s and fruit. I have to say everything is top notch! I burned about 650 Cals and was soaked in sweat just what I was looking for. The instructors have all been very nice and motivating which brings you back for more! Give this place a try!
First ride back in a while and it didnt disappoint!! Stefans performance ride was so awesome! Super challenging and good music!
I had an amazing time at my first spin class! It was definitely a challenge but I was able to push through thanks to the incredible instructor and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Love love love this place!! Just wish they were a liiiiiiittle bit cheaper but incredibly friendly staff & killer workout!
Love the energy here!! Great place to workout, it’s clean and always smells so good. The instructors are awesome and so friendly. Great addition to the Smithfield community.
I love CycleBar Smithfield! Great team, great energy, great workout. 45 min rides so youre in and out in less than an hour. There are so many great stores within the plaza. I would recommend trying it out if you havent. First ride is FREE!
My first time at this spin place. I told the woman at the front and she was very helpful with my shoes and getting me a locker. Then when my friend and I went into the room for class the instructor showed us how to adjust our seats and clip our shows in and then walked away. She gave no explanation on how class goes or what the monitor on the bikes mean or anything. My friend has NEVER taken a spin class ever and was kind of left in the dark. I’ve never done the positions or arm movements before and was caught in the dark.
The riders here are having the time of their lives, every class has a challenge! Its an amazing place to set goals, the support system is great, everyone is here to help you and to challenge you!
Go to Providence. The instructors here are not ready to teach classes. Let me put it this way - Gianna was the best of the absolute worst. I hope this studio wasn’t added to a franchise - good luck if so, this will either turn into a money suck or a flop. The assistant or general manager Claire has a poor attitude. Let’s not forget to mention that the workouts provided at this establishment are lame. Instruction is poor, instructor speech and verbiage is worse, and you will leave feeling dissatisfied.
I drive 45 minutes from Newport for spin because the experience at Cyclebar Smithfield is that good. 5 Stars! The instructors have turned into great friends. They are so motivating and full of energy and I always feel SO happy after class, no ifs ands or buts! Also love enjoying a shake just up to road right after class. Cyclebar Smithfield is a must try!!!
