Looking for new brakes, I searched for local options. I have used Firestone before but not this location. They were efficient, courteous, and offered times for an estimate of repairs. I waited for the inspection- which happened 30 minutes earlier than expected. We agreed on the fees and service and they did the work.In and out in a reasonable 3 hours without an appointment and a busy store. Wifi, coffee, and a cool car battery set up with a variety of phone chargers.
Ivan and Danny were beyond helpful, going out of their way to explain everything to me. Really great guys, highly recommend!
They don’t answer there phones. I called at 7:00 pm and it constantly rung for 20 rangs. Twice I called with no answer.Finally an automative system answered after the 21st rang and said ‘sorry no one can answer your call’. And that was it! No option to leave a message. Losy first impression so they must have losy service also.
Usually It In And Out Great Service, But Now All Services Center Are Short Staff And Extensive Now $69.31 For A Oil Change And This Is With Recommended Oil For My Truck, This Is More Than What The Dealer Charge On A 07 Tahoe LT.

Took my car here for general maintenance. I had appointment for noon and a man named Ruffino took care of me. Very nice guy. After I told him how my car has been misbehaving he said one of the mechanics would inspect the car. Told me it would take probably at least an hour. Mechanic took the car for a drive. Immediate repairs were not necessary. Told me my car runs fine but that I will need new tires soon. Also some other maintenance work was recommended but not at this moment. Seems like a very honest business and Rufino was great. Gave me a report on my car with recommendations for maintenance that car will need in the future. Bottom line is I was very impressed by the personnel especially Rufino. He was very polite, professional, and seemed to know so much about vehicles and the maintenance they require. Because of his professional manner as well as his honesty, I will definitely return to this Firestone. Not only is near where I live but, more importantly, I appreciate when a business treats customers the way Rufino treated me. I believe this place will be my car doctor for the foreseeable future. Recently change break pads, rotors and flush break oil for all four tires. Good people and good places to fix your car. price wise they are pretty expensive.

If you care about the safety of your family, go elsewhere.My sister visited this location to get 4 new tires prior to moving across country, as well as an alignment check. The next day, 2 of her tires went completely flat leaving her on the side of the road! When the car was towed back, Firestone said that the valves had blown. They replaced the valves and 1 of the 4 new tires that was damaged. After leaving the location, all her warning lights came on and the car started shaking violently. Again, she brought the car back to the location. This time a different mechanic stated that the issue was that she had two different size tires on the car. Finally, the truth came out that Firestone had originally installed 4 wrong size tires. When they went flat, instead of acknowledging the mistake, the mechanic replaced only the 1 damaged tire with the correct size, leaving the other 3, which caused the cars warning lights to come on.This is either gross incompetence or complete indifference to the safety of their customers. Even though this mistake could have caused a fatal accident, we never received a requested call from a Firestone manager, let alone any apology from Firestone. Please put your safety first and find another company to do business with.

My vehicle was stuck on the expressway and I had it towed here--Im glad I did! The service was professional, thorough, and honest. I worked with Ivan and I cant recommend his care and service with highest praise. They hooked me up with appropriate discounts, answered my questions, and provided timely communication. If I lived in the area, theyd be my mechanic of choice!

I went to this shop because it was closer from work for a second opinion because when I took car car for an alignment check from the Arlington heights store they said the right rear toe was misaligned and the manager does not know if the tech even tried to align it. It was +12. This shop took my car and was able to do what the other shop can not. Danny was very informative and explained everything to me.

Quite possibly the rudest experience I have ever had with regard to the front desk (Ivan, who was barking at everyone else who happened the be there that day). I will not be back. Also - be wary of getting tires from here as they will go flat every couple of months. Quality workmanship is shoddy and my dashboard is saying my oil is at 0% because they never reset it in the car computer system after they performed the oil change. Im not sure what has happened since I used to go here all the time several years ago, but I wont be back and have told everyone else I know in the area to steer clear.

Went there on Sunday afternoon without appointment to check my car battery and I was told to leave car for a couple hours, honestly I didn’t like that so I talked to Daniel Q and he told me he is going to do it right away. 30 minutes after I got new car battery installed in my car and I was told it was covered under warranty so I didn’t pay anything.It was professional service provided from Daniel Q.Thanks a lot Daniel.
I have gone to this location for many years and 3 different cars, getting every service from tires to oil changes. I have always been treated fairly and never felt like they were trying to take advantage of my lack of mechanical expertise! It can get busy, but they are very good at estimating the time to completion, and it is also possible to walk to several restaurants nearby while waiting for your car.
I waited over an hour for a new tire. Thats unacceptable!

This Firestone was one of the most helpful tire businesses in skokie. I ran into a small at the most inconvenient time as most of us usually do. The staff and crew at this location was attentive to my needs and took care of my flat tire. The crew replace my flat tire with the spare and showed me different alternatives for replacement tires for my budget. I had spoken with both Ivan as well as Danny who were the most helpful members of the Firestone community. They had taken care of my vehicle in a timely manner and assured me that I was traveling safe on the roads thereafter... Thank you Skokie fire stone for a job well done.

After manager Tim left the location on the corner of Skokie Blvd. and Dempster, the place has never been the same. They used to let us drop our car off at any time to get things done like oil changes, brakes, tires, etc. Weve spent a lot of money there. Now, you have to call to make an appointment. So thats what we do now - call ahead of time. When I recently called to ask if I could drop off my car the next day, the guy on the phone (Alex) would not give me an appointment. He told me to call early in the morning to see, because they might be booked up. I asked, So you dont know exactly what the schedule looks like tomorrow? And in a condescending tone, he said Thats not what I said maam. What I said was... I said Okay, thanks and hung up the phone. He needs to work on his customer service skills ASAP. If you cant tell me what your schedule looks like, but you expect people to call first to find out if they CAN bring their car in, something about your process needs to change. And, be more respectful towards your customers. Ditch the condescension.
A long overdue review but it starts out....About a year ago I noticed some issues with my car. Was told by a mechanic I needed a new battery. Asked how much. Was told it would be $480 but the good news was it included a warranty. Waited almost 4 hours even though when I called prior I was told it would be a 45 minute job, all while hoping my babysitter wouldnt get upset. Paid for it even though I felt I was being ripped off. While checking out, I inquired about having my AC checked..Just to check it AND DO NOTHING MORE....$175.IF THEY REFILLED MY COOLANT IT WOULD BE $280.Needless to say, I wont ever go back.

I go to this specific shop for all my car care needs. Its pricey but you get what you pay for. Usually out the same day with no issues and they dont push on their frilly care packages too hard. Clean environment. Most importantly they keep my vehicle clean when doing work on it
ONE STAR is TOO MUCH BECAUSE THEY DESERVE NONE!!IF THERE IS AN AWARD FOR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM! THEN THESE GUYS AT THIS LOCATION ARE DEFINITELY THE WINNERS!!!I wanted to purchase 4 tires + installation and the website was showing that this location carry them. The price on the website was shown $313+ taxes out of the door! I called them to check the price for the tires, on the phone the guy confirmed the prices with me so I decided to go there even though I live in Chicago, when I got there the guy was so damn rude and he said that the ones that I need they don’t have them in stock anymore and no other location carry them! I mentioned to the rude guy that I already called literally two hours ago and talked to him and asked if you guys have them you said yes, and now you don’t??!!! I ended up paying a higher price for different tires “that they had now in stock”, moreover, the rude guy said that it will take max one hour to finish everything and they will call me once the job is done. I left the car there and three hours and half later still the job is not done yet. I went back to check on my car and it was hanging there no one worked on it since I dropped it off.The guy left me waiting and he went “Helping” other person even though I was there first, waited for him for 15 min he came back then I asked him why no one is working on my car he got confused and didn’t know what to answer the other rude guy who was chilling on his chair said that “it’s almost done, maybe 15 more min”. The other guy went to check on my car and after waiting another 15 min I ended up getting new tires with a mess of White Glue all over them, a professional mechanic would never do such a thing!! But I guess they rushed the job because it looks like they forgot about it completely!! Almost 4 hours to change old tires with new ones!! Not to mention that they also tried to upsale me with Unnecessary stuff for my car.If you want to fix your car don’t bring it to this place!! These guys are the greatest example of the worst customer service ever!!Advise to the business owner to train his employees because obviously they are lacking a lot of professionalism (they have none) and basic communication skills!!
Came in for a repair on my tire, made appt for next day. The mechanics found more problems with other tires which is critical for the upcoming snow. What Im saying is trust them!! Even if the job wasnt perfect, they are committed to sticking by their work which is fleeting these days. Great work

Took our car here for tires, they called us left a voicemail saying hours later hey, your brakes were bad so we changed them. they changed the brakes without permission and charged us 600$ for it, but the brakes needed changing a month later again... Really bad customer service. Guy Ismael told me that I can walk in for wheel alignment after 4 30. Reached there on time. He said he cannot take my car because its busy now. Come Friday at 6. I went there again, without checking my car for alignment he said, my car needs both side new lower control arm. I told him to show me. Guy Eln parked my car without showing me and hand over my keys to leave. These guys ripped off customers by giving deals for life time wheel alignment but when you go there. They really dont want to do it unless you pay them.. really rude people..
I did wheel alignment here for my VW car.The wheels were aligned before and now looks misaligned after their work. I need to turn the steering more than before :(My car stopped running after they drove it out from their garage. Not very familiar with electric controlled hand break system. I am an engineer, and I said that its not because of engine check light on. But they are in their strong belief that its due to engine light on. They were asking for diagnostic charge but I towed my car to the dealer. And dealer found that a fuse went off. Dont bring your car here if its new models.They were trying to start my car using the push button 10 times. May be they are good with old mechanical cars, those had less electrical assisted start up system. Dont kill your new car here.
I brought in my car for new front brakes. They offered a complete vehicle inspection. When they called me with the results of the inspection, I was told that the front brakes and rotors need to be replaced (which I knew) and that I have an oil leak which they could determine with a dye test. In order to get the dye test, I was told (by the Firestone adviser) that an oil change would be necessary. I agree to the brakes, rotors, oil change, and dye test. After this dye was added to the oil, I would need to return in 4-5 days to have the source of the leak located. I was charged for the dye test and the oil change. The oil change, I found out for the tech; didnt occur since he didnt see it on the ticket. The adviser agreed to take that charge off my bill and refund the money via my credit card since I already paid. Later, I realized that the refund was cash tender. This was later refunded when I return for my oil leak inspection.After the follow up inspect, I was told that the leak was coming from the timing chain cover which they are unable to investigate/fix. That was unexpected since they claim to be Firestone Complete Auto Care. I accepted this but was emailed a survey to complete (after my last service). When I left the review I complained about being disappointed that they couldnt fix the leak. I figured Firestones upper management would realize that their name was misleading.I ended up getting a call from a disgruntled adviser after I submitted the review. His bosses were scolding him for my review even though he felt he explained why they couldnt repair the issue.I didnt leave the review to have the adviser or tech reprimanded. I was just leaving an honest survey response about Firestones disappointing limits. Firestone should not scold the local advisers for something they are responsible for. Now, I have to go to the dealership to have this repaired. They will charge again for the dye test and it will cost more for that and the repair itself.I dont know if I feel comfortable using Firestone again since they treat their service staff so harshly. This may affect the way customers are treated. Also, I dont know what Firestone can actually repair/service.
Once Tim the previous store manager left this place hasn’t been the same. The customer service has gone down the drain. They give you misleading information and flat out lie to you. I have multiple vehicles and have spent a lot of money here. Unfortunately, after my last experience I have decided to take my business elsewhere.
Poor and unprofessional customer service. Took my car there for wheel alignment. They called me back asking for another $ 900 to replace ball joints which I refused. I ended up paying $ 22 for alignment check (same alignment I knew was bad). Wish I was informed upfront I may be charged fees without any work being done on my car...

Lied about a hole in my tire so they can charge for a patch job. Brought it to where I had the original tires to get it patched and they looked at me like I was bonkers. Thanks for the embarrassment. Also didn’t do the fluid inspection, so I can only assume they didn’t do the tire rotation either.
The service seemed fine but they charged me twice for an alignment. I dont know if that was on purpose but it felt shady.Once I talked to the manager, he was good about wanting to fix it but they couldnt do it over the phone so we had to drive back out to get it done.All in all, the place is ok but I will probably go elsewhere in the future.

I called ahead to make sure they had the tires I want but sold them before I arrived. They order them . I came back . They sold them again . They ordered them again they sold them again before I arrived. I should have know better but they said they could get them quickly. I waited they held me hostage for over 8hrs. To install tires..... Only because I like the tires I came back 5 years later looking for a new set only to be met with rudness, and to have them blame me for what happened to the tires . DO NOT SHOP HERE
The person that did the actual install on the set of 4 tires that I bought was not a good person. The guy who sold me the tires had to ask him to wash the blue color from the white writing on the sidewall. He did it reluctantly and thought that is was funny somehow. There was still white grease left on the outside of one of the tires when I drove away. To make matters worse he accidentally used my car to knock over the tall, hard plastic cones while backing out of the garage. Sorry he said insincerely, while walking away. Kind of like that idiot kid who didnt feel good about himself, so made everyone around him suffer...that kid from the 6th grade. No respect at all for the customer. Would not go here again. The people who manage this place have to find a way to hire staff that is not snotty and disrespectful to their customers. When youre an adult aged person, like myself, these kind of annoyances just make the day all the longer.
Incredibly unprofessional. Three poor experiences here. Haven’t been back in a while but saw the showroom was redone and needed a quick fix. Thought I’d give it another go. Called earlier in the day to schedule a flat fix where I would bring in just the wheel and it fell through on their end. The “manager” needs some customer conflict training and maybe a nap as well.Everyone I’ve interacted with at this location has always been very helpful and a pleasure to work with... EXCEPT the managers. Very defensive and would not own up to the fact that their guys made a mistake.
I had the pleasure(not) of meeting 2 guys behind the counter today, they actually work at this location. I had an outside source set up a tire rotation and paid them, apparently they signed up with this company, however they wouldn’t do it because they said the tread was too low. This was after waiting 35 mins. After I said that doesn’t sound right, they started with the laws and that was way over my head cuz I’m far from a person that has studied the laws for a tire rotation. I left and went down the street and had my tires rotated. I told the story to the guy there, he said I’ll call and thank them for throwing me out. $$ I did wonder why someone that went to school to become an attorney would be selling tires at firestone? Oh well hope this helps someone from going through what I did.

Had a screw in center tread of tire and losing air quickly. When I pulled into Just Tires and asked the gentleman at the counter if he could help me and patch the tire, he said sorry there is five cars in front of you and that I would need to leave the car there for about four hours. No one was waiting in the lobby and the bays were full, so I take it everyone has to leave their car here. Well after heading back out to my vehicle and taking a chance to limp to Skokie, I stopped at a well known auto repair shop with great service called Firestone . There bays were also full and they had people in the lobby waiting for their vehicles. After talking with the gentleman behind the counter, I showed him the issue and within five minutes he had my vehicle in the bay and said it would be about an hour for completion. In actuality it only was about 45 minutes and it was completed. Firestone has never let me down. Thank you !
I went in on Wednesday for a tire repair.The man sitting at the desk was on the phone.I was standing there for about 15 minutes.Does not even acknowledge Im there.Finally another man shows up and asks me what I needed.I told about the tire and possible rear bearing. He says fine but it will take about 2 hours or so.I asked if I can make an appointment for tomorrow he said that would be fine.He takes my information draws up the paperwork and has me sign.I was to drop off the car at 7 am. and would be ready about 3pm.I went in this morning to drop the keys at the desk a lady had just walked in and was talking to the same guy that was on the the previous day. Again I stood there for about 15 minutes completely ignored. I said excuse me can I just drop off the keys. He says no I have take your information and you have to sign you have to wait. I said I was in yesterday the other man took all my information and I signed.He says sorry you have to wait.i said sorry too and took off.

I will never go back to this place againFirst I had my oil changed and when they do a oil change they just assume you want the most expensive oil change without asking. Then they are supposed to reset the car indacator to 100% which as my wife drove the car the other day everyime whe started the car up it said it need a oil change and it was at 5% and was never done. I then brought the car in because I kept hearing a noise in the front of the car they told me it was the struts that job for the front struts was about $ 960 and the struts were bad and were leaking and I had to go back and have them do the struts again I had 80000 miles on the car and the noise was still there. Took it to another garage and the told me it was the stabilizer bars and they were what was the real problem they cost me $150 and the noise was gone. So if you want to save yourself a lot of time money and a headache do not go to the Firestone garage in Scokie on Cicero and Dempster.

Only to get a call that the battery they were planning to installing wasnt in-stock so they had to up-charge me for a bigger battery. Then they tried to sell me tires on top of it. Then when I mentioned the wait time I was told that it was my fault for not getting the car in early enough. Oops. Not coming back here!

This place is a joke. I bring my Avis rental for a oil change at 11:10 AM on wensday October 5th which is 20 to 30 minutes but Mr Erick at the front desk said 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours to be covered. Because we were in vacation I told them we will go for a coffee not far from the firestone place. We come back at 1:03 PM and they did not touch the van and Mr Erick said it will be done in 30 minutes. Waiting for the van to be done I watch a black guy which play on his phone more than work on the van. They finally finish the job, give me the key and invoice and not even say sorry for lying to me, and I have to wait 2.5 hours because their incompetence. Bad people and never again to this place. 1 star is too much.
The employees are friendly, and professional. You can just walk to McDonalds for a bite to eat while you wait. We waited for a couple of hours. We will bring our cards next time.

These guys are a joke when it comes to work, if i could give them a 0 for a rating i would. Ive been a customer since 2003 and their service keeps getting worse and worse.About a month ago i brought the car in for an aligment. They automatically assumed that i needed new control arms so they did not even attempt to give me an aligment service. Instead they offered me quotes on new controls arms and bushings. So i took it to a competitors shop and got the car aligment done and was told my control arms were fine.In the most recent incident, i brought the car in for a quick patch due to running over a nail. I have wheel spacers on the car and noticed they forgot to put back on my front spacer in which they over torqued the extended bolts into my hub literally making it impossible to remove these bolts. I will not be surprised if they acctually cracked my hub wheel due to overtighting these extended bolts but that is yet TBD.It is christmas day, but due to there technicians inabilities of torquring to spec, and not realizing and possibly losing my spacers leaves me with no choice other than to leave this bad review.
