If you think mechanics are like lawyers, greasy with not a good one in the bunch, this place proves itself to be the exception. Ive been coming here for ages for everything from oil changes to engine repairs and Gary and his guys have never provided anything less than top-notch service. In fact, Im planning on trading my current vehicle in soon but not until Ive brought the new one to them to make sure it passes muster. If youre looking for an honest, respectful and clean shop to entrust your vehicle to, look no further. Neighborhood Automotive is it.

I am selfishly a bit reluctant to write this review, as I dont want this place to change. But, Neighborhood Auto is hands down the best auto shop I have been to. Gary is always professional and respectful and will explain what, why and if anything actually needs to be repaired.I no longer dread having something go wrong with my vehicles as I know I will be taken care of.These guys will treat you right!

This will be my go to auto shop, I came across this place because I am very close to the location and I had a horrible screeching noise coming out of my car. Took it here to get checked out and was serviced at a fair price and got my vehicle the next day. Yesterday my husbands truck had an issue and we were able to have it towed here and we got his truck back today! I love how quickly and professionally they service our cars and I feel like they are fairly priced! I would recommend this small shop to anyone! I’ve had 2 good experiences here and am satisfied with their work.

Neighborhood auto was hands down one of the best shops ive gone too. I was too busy to complete a project myself and they came through with a fair price, quick quality work and great communication. I would recommend them to anyone.

Shop owner is a fraud, beware! If you have a nice expensive car he will bump up the cost and take forever on repairing your car and then not even good either. He wears a friendly smile but he does not care much as long as you agree to his cost. These reviews seem really odd be mindful companies also put up fake reviews never again will I believe star ratings.

Gary and his team are very knowledgeable and have always treated me well. They offer great service and complete their work in a timely manner. Also their quotes are more than fair. Would recommend to friends and family.

Wow this place is great. Service and prices are outstanding. It has been a rough month as far as car troubles go. Gary and his team have been nothing but amazing and the issues the problems I had. (blown tire and brakes on a different vehicle) were all taken care of immediately and prices were way better then fair. I am so glad I stumbled onto Neighborhood Automotive. I would highly recommend them to anyone. 5+ Stars!!!

After finding out this new guy who no one seems to like in town because of so many reasons I rather not mention on here, now works here I refuse to have my car serviced here and the word will get around slowly but surely.

I can not say enough good things about this establishment, owner and employees! Traveling on I90 Friday of Memorial Day weekend when check engine light comes on. Turn off and find a place to pull a code. Find out one of the cylinders in not firing. Ask the employee at the parts place if they could recommend someone to help us out. Pointed us to a big repair/tire place but they couldnt help us. They sent us to Neighborhood Automotive and the owner there was extremely helpful and accommodating! They got us back on the highway and back to our vacation plans within a couple of hours! THANK YOU for all your help! Our vacation was fabulous and it would not have happened without you and your employees!

We moved to sioux falls about a year and a half ago from NC. one of the hardest things is finding a mechanic that you like and can trust. we feel very fortunate to find this place. We actually had an emergency and Neighborhood automotive was the closest place to us and they got us in right away. Now, after 3 more fun vehicle problems, they have helped us right away every time we needed them. I am very pleased and feel lucky we found them. The owner goes above what needs to be done and does it in a timely manner. Will not go anywhere else.

Terrible engine work . I had a engine replacement done amd they charged me $2000 and the engine never worked . Stay away .

A few years back, during one of our coldest days, my Avalanche transmission line blew open, drained completely out, and destroyed my transmission. I had no idea about any repair shops in Sioux Falls being from Brookings. The tow truck driver suggested to use Neighborhood Automotive. We parked my truck there, and I left the keys inside. I had a friend come pick me up and take me back to Brookings. I called the next day and spoke to the owner. He found a used transmission for me and had it installed within a few days. I feel it was very reasonable for the repair and service. A day or two later, I had an exhaust leak that I never had before. I called Neighborhood Automotive about this and the owner had me come back. They fixed the exhaust leak at no extra charge. You can not beat such good service as that in my opinion.

As my wife was sitting at Culvers a few blocks away from Neighborhood Auto in our new $500 full bumper-to-bumper tail-light guaranteed minivan wed bought 2 days earlier, the radiator hose blew off, spaying water all over making it looking like Old Faithful had erupted under the hood. As she and others were admiring the show, a fellow came up and offered her a tow. She took him up on it, having it towed to Neighborhood Auto, at the Culvers managers suggestion. The tow truck driver refused any payment, burned rubber and was gone.The owner had the hose reattached the hose, replaced the cooling fan fuse that had blown, filled the system with fluid, and he too refused any payment.She thanked him and drove the 100 miles home without further incident.You simply cant say enough about folks such as these.Thanks again.
