Took my 2021 BMW in to get some exhaust modifications done, they were able to get me into the shop in no time and they did great work. Explained everything they were doing, and the car sounds great! Couldnt be more pleased with the work.

I showed up without appointment. They squeezed me and worked on my car. I highly recommend this place because of their skill level and honesty. The guy did a great job and I watched him work on my car. Great people, great place. Thy did not offer me a water as I was waiting, but charged me a very reasonable price compared to what I anticipated. I guess I can by my own water with the money I saved and Id still give them five stars.

There are lots of places to go in Sioux Falls for automotive service but only one place has Chad Dubac. I highly recommend Automotive Brake & Exhaust because of his incredible skill level and knowledge. Great guy, great place, and it is expanding!

Very unprofessional. I called a week in advance to get exhaust work done and asked when they can get me in. Was told if I can get there tuesday morning when they open he would get it right on the lift and knocked out right away. So I get there this morning and they told me that they have other cars to do and that they couldnt get to it till around noon. I took off work and arranged my schedule to have this done. So to get told that I cant get it done untill later is so unprofessional. Super unsatisfied and annoyed that I took off work for them to waste my time and lie to me. What is the purpose of making an appointment. Im a certified mechanic/technician and I deal with this every day when working on customers units, people have jobs and things to to and thats why we make appointments. Now I have to find another place to do it and take more time off work. So not only did they waste my time but costed me money aswell.

Called on Friday, half an hour before closing. The conversation, after basic hellos, goes like this:AB&E: Were you wanting to make an appointment?Me: Im not sure. I work nights, and I cant come in before 1:00 or so. Do I need an appointment?AB&E: Thats fine, you dont need to make an appointment.Me: Great! I do need to have it by the 21st (Thursday). Is that doable?AB&E: Sure. Bring it in on Monday and well figure it out.Me: Thanks so much! I look forward to seeing you on Monday.Today is Monday. I showed up to find one person in the entire shop, presumably the same one I spoke to. He is watching TV when I arrive. He explains that he doesnt see people before noon. I can leave the car if I want, and hell get to it whenever he has time, after the people who made appointments (this with a meaningful glance). I feel my nostrils flare involuntarily. He will certainly not look at my car or give me any sense whether or not it will be ready when I need it. I am entirely disoriented for a moment. I am not going to wait an hour for my wife if I will have to rent a car anyway, and I am not going to rent a car if my car will be ready before Thursday. The sense of assurance I was given over the phone is entirely gone now. I ask, feeling very foolish doing so, if there is anyone there to give me a ride home. (At least that would justify deferring my rental decision.) Of course there is not. I decide that I must leave with my own car.The man reassures me, in my evident distress, that its okay, because he has plenty of work. The disrespect, the utter disregard for my time and resources is clearly understandable, given that I exist only for his gratification, and neither of us could be concerned with anything other than his being or not being sufficiently *occupied*.Would not recommend.Dave at West Sioux Exhaust, on the other hand, saw me right away (even though he was not there when I called ahead) and had my car fixed *within an hour* of leaving AB&E, for a price that was so low I was *literally startled* by it. GO THERE INSTEAD.

The owner was real nice and polite new what was wrong with my car but checked it out anyway. He is a very honest man told me it is has a recall on it.

I suppose after a person owns a shop for 40 years they can be as shady as they please. I had heard that this shop didnt do good business but I decided to give it a try because they quoted me lower than any other shop. When I brought my car in, the owner refused to honor the original quote which was only $25 less. He tried to change his tune when I told him I would leave a negative review since I specifically went there because of his original quote. By then it was too late. He was just bsing me trying to justify why his 2nd quote was higher. So I drove down the street to The Brake Center. They beat the cost of Mr. Shadys original quote in addition to providing wonderful customer service.

Highly recommend this place. My mechanic had told me I needed a new catalytic converter and oxygen sensors. This place quoted me $700 less for the same work. And then, after dropping off my car, they called and told me they felt like the cat was fine and that I should start with changing the O2 sensors. They could have just done the work it but they were honest and tried to save me a little money. THANK YOU.

I highly recommend this place. Just took my 05 Dodge Magnum in there and they really nice people. The guy let me watched as he looked for my problem....thought I had an 02 sensor problem which it was actually unplugged and he hooked it back up. They do honest work and if anyone need work done, this is the place!!!!!!!

I had been a lifelong Bucks customer, and when they closed, needed to find a new place for muffler service. I could not be more pleased/satisfied. These guys have treated me excellently on each occasion. When I need muffler service, I would not even consider going elsewhere! A few days ago I needed an item removed from my car. The young man came out to my car within a minute or two, took a quick look, returned with a tool and removed it. He would not take any money. This happened a few months ago where I needed something done under my car, and they did it within minutes, and again, no charge. They replaced my muffler and a portion of piping (I believe over a year ago), and I have had no issues. Now, Im thinking when I need brake or alignment work, I will go here *_*

Incredible customer service! Went looking for a catalytic converter estimate. Chad, while helping me, had customers arriving to pick up their vehicles, and incoming customer phone calls. ALL were treated in a timely and professional manner. Turns out my item was in stock, and after about 15 minutes on the lift (to include a visual explanation of the process), I left with a new converter in place, at a great price. Webster’s should have “see Automotive Brake and Exhaust” under the definition of customer service!

I called late in the afternoon hoping to get an appointment that afternoon. They got me right before the end of the day. He was able to diagnose the issue just from my explanation. When I got there they were extremely friendly and got the keys from me and had the car up on the hoist in no time. I was back on the road again within a half hour. I was worried about the price but didnt need to be. It was extremely reasonable. All in all a great experience. Now my old car is whisper quiet like a ninja. Thanks for the great service! I will be recommending you to anyone I can!

They are amazing to work with! I called the owner today and he was very friendly on the phone as opposed to another place we had called. He right away was able to tell me what was wrong with it. He took a look at it and asked if we wanted it fixed right away and of course we said yes! The price was very affordable and service was incredibly quick! We were in and out all within 20 minutes! Stopped in today as there was a rattle coming from under my car. The pulled it right in and was fixed in less than fifteen minutes. Turns out a screw/washer had broken off so they fixed it up at no charge and sent me on my way. They were friendly helpful and informative. Ill definitely be going back for any future needs!

I just got some exhaust work done at Automotive Brake & Exhaust. The 2 guys that work there are very knowledgeable and they made the normal stress of automotive work very tolerable. I was told by several places in Sioux Falls that it would take 4-5 hours to do the exhaust work that they did in 1 1/2 hours. I would recommend Automotive Brake & Exhaust to anyone that needs any exhaust work done. I would have given them more than 5 stars but Google only allows 5. Give Joe & Chad a call next time you need exhaust, tires or brake work done. You wont be disappointed!

Best service ever! Called in and explained my exhaust problem to Joe, he told me to get there as soon as I could . He guessed they would be done in 30 to 45 minutes. I got there at 9:02. They welded in new exhaust pipe brackets etc. I was pulling out of the driveway at 9:30!! Now thats some great service.Great guys too. Awesome job Guys, Thanks!

Great Service and a fair price. The guys are very knowledgeable on what they do best. I felt very comfortable with them from my first phone call to the end of the completed job. Our car was in this morning for broken exhaust manifold bolts and out this afternoon with a new manifold, Ox sensor, gaskets, bolts, etc. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

2-20-20 I stopped in with my sons car(exhaust issue) and no appointment. I was in/out in 20minutes. Very honest and told me was a bad exhaust design from factory and they were able to cut a Piece out and replace it. Otherwise it could have been a $1000, but like i said in and out for $104.00.they for sure got a life long customer & referrals from me. Thanks guys

I couldn’t be more disappointed in my service with Automotive Brake and Exhaust. I had a hole in my catalytic converter. I brought it to them to fix and originally they put an after market part on my vehicle. After two days of having my truck back after the fix, the check engine light came on. I called Automotive Brake and Exhaust to ask if they could help. They stated they didn’t think it was their problem. Due to that comment, I took my truck to two different, separate places to look into the check engine light. It was noted by both places stating it was catalytic emissions due to the after market converter. I then just brought it back to Automotive Brake & Exhaust stating CLEARLY “not sure what the problem is. I’ve had it looked at by a few others and they feel it is because of the after market converter installed by you on my truck. But since you fixed it, please do what you need to fix the check engine light and let me know.” I stated clearly ”I am not saying it’s because of the after market part but since you fixed it, I will let you determine what you feel it is”. I went back after they stated it was done to have them charge me an additional $800 for the OE (original equipment) part. As I asked them for more details, they clearly stated “it could have been the O2 sensor but you told us you thought it was the after market catalytic converter so we replaced it” My challenge is why did they not call me and discuss options. They could have replaced the O2 sensor and seen if that was the fix. Or called me to give me options. And the gentleman at the front desk told me directly, with a bit of challenge in his voice, that they didn’t need to replace the converter, we could have done the O2 sensor. I felt he was a bit challenging due to me asking if it was the after market part, almost like I was accusing them. But again, as a consumer who is not aware of the main operations of a vehicle I wanted to put my trust in them to fix it effectively and efficiently. I walked away with an over $2,000 Bill after two visits. And it doesn’t seem like that needed to be as complicated as it was. And I feel it was because of an almost challenge by them to use the new part and charge me more. My State Farm agent felt it wasn’t handled incorrectly and they definitely charged me too much compared to what State Farm normally sees.

I just recently got my 2016 f150 5.0 done with dual exhaust and a magnaflow muffler and I absolutely love it the staff was great helping me choose what I wanted and the truck came out beautiful

I brought my car in for breaks and was told the car would be done the same day. i need it for my work but they are now closed and i have no car and did not even receive a courtesy call with the status of the car. i am very worried what they have done to my vehicle. i will now lose at least a days work and also an uneasy feeling not knowing what is going on. what business makes a promise to have work done the same day and not only doesnt keep the promise but also keeps the car overnight without even calling that customer. i am affraid with what tomorrow has in store. i am stuck with no car and no update either.

I went to the dealer told to resurface brakes....still squealed...went to a shop down the road told i needed new brakes.....still squealed, talked to these fine dudes and i havent looked back since. Also had them weld on a black exhaust tip, very affordable, will bring my new truck to them from now on.

It was the week of the 4th of July and I needed work done on my exhaust. They were able to get me in the same day I called and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Great service.

Took my car in for what I thought was a converter problem. Joe put it on the lift and 20 min later I had my car back. It could have been a very expensive bill for a converter that I wouldnt have known if it was bad or not. The pipe was off a hanger and a little prying on a heat shield and problem solved. Hard to find honest places like this. AB&E has all of my brake and exhaust business from here on out.

After calling multiple shops and getting a quote for new break pads and rotors in my 2004 Grand Prix Joe was over $100 cheaper than many other shops. If you are looking for a place that values the customer over the American dollar, this place is it. Took our car in today. We werent really sure what was wrong with it. As soon as I drove it in, they knew. They showed me what was wrong with the exhaust. They told me what it would cost, which was way cheaper than I was expecting and they had it fixed in 45 minutes. I would go back for other service should it arise.

Went in with a noise that I self-diagnosed as an exhaust problem (sounded like a nickel in a aluminum folgers can). Being I am not exactly an automechenic I took it in. The old man reminded me of my own grandpa, all business. Guy had no time for any nonsense he was all about fixing mufflers and doing exhaust. I dropped my 2014 F150 off and he called me back in a couple hours. He was able to have his guys repair it and didnt charge me a dime. I do feel that my problem was minimal, however he had it for atleast a couple hours--at any rate-driven place that would have been a minimum of $100 and he charged me $0.If you were reading reviews to figure out where to go, Id say definitely try here first. They definitely arent out to screw anyone or gouge on price.

Wow never been treated so bad at any shop Ive ever done business with. Made me wait for a week to get a look at my car and then said he couldnt do what is a very simple job. Didnt introduce himself. Treated me like I was dirt. Im guessing he doesnt like foreign cars very much. Still no reason to treat a potential customer ( or any customer for that matter) the way he treated me. Even touched the hot exhaust on my car. (You would think a guy with an exhaust shop would know you dont touch a hot exhaust) Total thumbs down to these guys

This shop is the best at what they do. Seems more have something positive to say than a certain VW owner who probably should have gone to his VW dealer in the first place, Besides VWs are kind of a hot mess these days.

Easily my worst experience Ive had at a repair shop. They do not back up any of their work. I would not recommend anyone take their European/German car here. I recently brought in my 2008 VW Golf R32 for a creeking noise in the steering at low speeds. I knew before even going to the shop that this noise was due to worn strut top mounts. The owner ordered the parts and they were installed, the car drove great, everything was good. 3 months and not even 2k miles later the noise returned, only worse. I confronted the owner, he noticed the noise as well. However he did not seem eager to help me out, nor repair my car again. The only thing he could offer was credit on the old parts and I would have to fork out $1000 for genuine VW parts. I asked the owner if he back up any of his work. He did not answer my question, he raised his voice and told me to make another appointment. I walked right out.You really do get what you pay for. This shop does not back up any of their work. Nor give any guarantee on the parts they install. I eventually ended up taking the car to my local VW dealer where the car was fixed properly, and was given a 12 month 12k mile guarantee on all the parts installed. German cars require special parts and special training to be repaired properly. Neither of which this shop seemed to have
