I really do appreciate Sparklight. I tried everything I could and plus a couple who are suppose to know about computers......we got nowhere fast and I had plenty of frustration. The guy, in-person, for the office found the modem was NOT working. Then he said maybe, just maybe we can get a guy out by 7pm. Randy arrived and ended up using a ladder to go up a pole- to check a connection BINGO BINGO- now everything is a-go. I am very grateful to Randy- very nice, smart, very capable and enjoys diet cokes-- he got 2 from me.. Sparklight is a very great provider and the workers are super....now off to email-land!! They talked to my wife about how we wanted the cable installed to our house when we decided to change to them. After agreeing to the plan when they came to do the job they decided to do it in a different manner because the way we discussed was too hard. They started when we were not home so it was not approved by us. They partially dislodged railroad ties that were used for a low retaining wall, the line itself is barely under the grass and they completely destroyed a patch of grass near our house to which they just tried to stomp the turf back in. They also cored through our sidewalk but did not seal it properly and still have not come back to fix it. If left like this ice/thaw this winter will raise up my sidewalk. What is orst of all their digital service is awful. I am mad enough I may rip it all out myself and leave it on the doorstep of their business!!! Avoid them at all costs!!!

The technician Randy was very knowledgeable and friendly. When I had the wrong modem, he gave me advice on what I needed and where to get it. If I could give him 6 stars I would, he was quick and cleaned up after he finished.

My internet and phone service completely drop at least once a week anymore. You will be in the middle of an important conversation and suddenly no service. Just try calling the company and try to get some answers....NO, DONT....youre wasting your time. Their customer service is a ROBOT and you go around and around in circles with it. So frustrating.Cableone aka Sparklight USED TO BE the TOP DOG of internet service providers in Siouxland for YEARS! How do I know? Ive been with them for 30 plus years. If this is still TOP DOG, I hate to see how BAD the others are. And the FROSTING ON THE CAKE? You pay more and more!WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR GREAT SERVICE CABLEONE/SPARKLIGHT? I MISS YOU! I am truly finished with Sparklight! Ive had this same service for over 7 years. I never had any disruption issues while it was Cable One. Just a reset needed every once and awhile. Im losing service almost daily from any where to 5 minutes to 2 hours. I lost it for 10 hours before! People with way cheaper service are happier than I am. Truly disgusted.

Connectivity is fine but the down speed is less than half of what it is supposed to be. Have ran several tests and all had lower down speed. At hook up down speed was what it was supposed to be for what we are paying for.

I put in a order to transfer service to my newly purchased home on July 8 they will not be able to transfer my servuce until July 29. Thats 3 weeks without internet services. They dont care about fast service and they will not give me a reason as to why it will take so long. Ive beem a customer for 10 years with a perfect payment history. They need to improve on this.

We love our Sparkling service! We’ve had service thru other local companies and none are as good as Sparklight. We recently had another local service and it wasn’t cutting it what so ever! We were getting less then 1 mb per second speed!! We couldn’t do anything using that service! We’re so glad we switched to Sparklight we will ever use another service!

Have had non stop issues with modem (had five replacements), the technical support doesnt have answers for the majority of my questions (didnt even know the conversion for download speed to bandwidth), when techs show up they dont even know why they were sent (dont wear masks or gloves and have virtually no respect for a persons home), hitron modems are junk, some techs dont even know how to troubleshoot issues and have to call technical support, tech supervisor didnt show up when he was supposed to because he had a meeting(knew days in advance), falsely put charges for service call on bill, limiting bandwidth and telling me Im using more than I have available even though I use less than 100Gb (50GB or less) of data ea month and am aware of reducing bandwidth when streaming, billing manager even tried to take away credit and promo that was given due to previous issues a few months prior, seemingly constant packet loss, automated tech is seriously flawed, tech installed new coax poorly on home (way to high, not straight, and holes not sealed in walls), constant issues with receiving bill on time or at all, left without working service because they had another service call (didnt finish my service call and expected me to wait for an undetermined amount of time hrs/days for my service to be fixed because they came unprepared), modem updates not being done correctly and had to be forced after resetting modem, 5G light blinks constantly and randomly even when nothing is connected (the instructions even say that the modem is malfunctioning when this happens but they tried saying its normal cause their modem does the same thing). I have had extremely better service using my smartphones mobile hotspot.

We had Century Link before this and that was faster then this is. The reason for changing to Sparklight was to get something fast. Already thinking of cancelling Sparklight and going back to Century Link.

I got randomly charged for an extra 2 months and for two routers, and after months of trying to get ahold of them because they are never open and i cant afford a $500 internet bill, they just apologize and act like it was my fault. This company is a joke! Whenever there is a problem with the internet it is impossible to get someone on the phone. They dont offer anything when their service doesnt work and they are over priced. I tried to talk to them and spent 42 minutes on hold and still didnt get to speak to anyone.

Not at all happy right now. Lost connection twice today while working from home. The company I work for is in a crunch to get things processed for year end and we cannot afford to lose over half our staff when this happens! When I tried calling (both times) I got a computer that tried talking me through the steps to get reconnected. No notification that the whole city was down! I finally got reconnected and the automated system still couldnt find me! Lol. The only reason I have sparklight is because my only other option is a dish. The only thing worse than sparklight and their overpriced options is service from a dish!

Although your service isnt as fast as the young lady who signed me up said it would be, it seems to meet most of our internet needs. And we very much enjoy streaming TV until everything locks up for no apparent reason. Im not sure whats causing the problem. I use an amazon firestick and when I look into network problems Im told that while there is excellent signal there are connection problems. Whatever that means. Its happening with increasing frequency.

The service tech at my home today was fast and efficient. Checked and repaired all the outside connections. Then, from a safe distance, explained how the damage was done by squirrels chewing the lines. He was so kind and considerate. 2 thumbs up!!

I am not sure what is going on with Sparklight but I have been a customer of Cable One for YEARS & NEVER had ANY issues with our internet service until this past month. I have lost my internet connection multiple times & every time you call them they either dont know what is going on or they are VERY rude about it & treat you like nobody but funny thing is they will definitely charge you a late fee if you dont pay your bill on time. I understand that emergencies come up & that maintenance has to be done but is it too much to ask for a email or text explaining why the internet is down or even giving a courtesy email informing us of the maintenance so people like myself that work from home & work overnight can make other arrangements & not be told when you call that I have to sign up for those notifications which I think is absolutely asinine. Sparklight you need to get it together cuz if this continues to happen I will take my business elsewhere & also you may want to train your employees on how to treat PAYING customers cuz if it wasnt for the customers those employees would not have jobs.

We have had consistent and steady service for the last four years. No interruptions, no outages, no overages. Rental router was new and updated. Speeds were solid using a mid grade plan. Fantastic ability to cancel anytime without being tied into contracts. Would highly recommend.

I called needing a fownl9d speed of at least 50 mbps. They sent me out my router and got set up within 4 days. I have had no service interruption and I am able to work from home. I have referred 4 ppl so far! I hope they are as satisfied as I am. Thank you Sparklight!!

My parents have been Sparklight (Cable One) customers for over twenty years. They have had numerous problems with this company. Our internet is slow and disconnects frequently. The company also has bandwidth limits. If you go over too many times, they will automatically boost you to the next plan which means youre paying extra money for something you didnt request. My parents bill would also go up $10 to $15 per month for no reason. After my father saw that the bill for March was going to be an extra $15 for no extra services, he decided to drop cable and switch to YouTube TV. My mom called the customer service number in order to get a better Internet connection for streaming. They recommended we get another router. When the service guy came to install the extra router, he was condescending and rude towards my mother. Now, our desktop will not connect to the Internet at all, even though its plugged into the router with an Ethernet cord. Avoid this company if possible.

I will preface this review with the statement that I am an IT professional and network engineer and have 25 years in the industry building and running international voice and data networks.Installation of service was very good and the tech was great! Couldnt be happier with that part of the experience.My user experience so far with Sparklight is that service is random with very frequent (two or more times a week) degradation. There are regular (and lengthy) periods where packet loss exceeds 30% and trying to work from home or stream meeting video will not work. In fact, over the past 2 days we had about 20 hours of 45% packet loss. Less frequently there are random outages (albeit usually fairly short) with no notification to the customers. All that being said, when the service is clean and is up and running we have no issues other than our contracted service is supposed to be 300Mbps and we have yet to break 100Mbps even with one device connected and at low traffic times of the night. So expect to pay for what is not delivered.My experience is that service tickets do not get action or any type of response to the customer; no notes in the tickets or any other type of communication or updates or calls or noticeable action to resolve the ticket.Must be nice to have a near monopoly in specific locations where the only options for broadband connectivity during this time of WFH during the pandemic is frequent poor quality internet, slower than contracted speeds, and less than stellar customer service...or getting a blazing 25Mbps from other local fringe providers.If you have other options, you should consider them for your service provider until Sparklight can figure things out.

The service is good. The man who came in and hooked us up was great! My 2 year old son was bothering him the whole time, he wanted to play. The guy even made a little ramp out of the box that the modem came in and showed him how to drive his car on it. He was a delight!

Do not go with this company. I have gotten nothing good to say! I’ve had nothing but problems with the internet service! I’ve tried calling to get things fixed and tried talking to management about it they refuse to talk to customers. I have been trying for months to get things working with them and no calls back from management. No fixing the problem! And absolutely no getting refunds for services that I pay for and am not receiving! They are a bunch of crooks! Obviously in it for the money and not for the service of customers!

I am trying to reconnect my internet because my wife is working from home. Needs Internet to do that! Was hung up 8 times on and never talked to a single person!
