Would give them 6 stars if I could! Progressive handled a very complex data recovery issue (RAID with multiple drive failures) for a reasonable price, with excellent communication at every stage, and very quickly. We got a full recovery of our server, and we couldnt be happier. Thanks!

Very friendly service and very responsive with updates. They have certainly earned all five stars from me. They worked with me through each of the steps and were very understanding of my worries. 10/10 would use their services again.

They charged me well over $700 to essentially replace a hard drive and some ram. First, they diagnosed my PC and replaced my hard drive. They said they backed up my hard drive but all the files were corrupt and none of my programs worked- I wouldnt have paid extra to back up my hard drive if I knew it was a waste of time. My PC stopped working shortly after I brought it home so I brought it back. They determined the real issue was actually my ram so I had to pay even more. Not only did they misdiagnose my PC, they also made me pay for all of it. I ended up factory resetting my PC and losing all my files anyway. What a horrid waste of money. If you have PC troubles, buy a new PC, dont waste your money here.

I left a laptop there but my son wanted me to get it back and he would take care of it they were very nice about it

I would rate them 10 stars if I could. The WiFi adapter on my laptop failed several months ago. Was afraid to to try to get it fixed because I couldnt afford to part with it for multiple days (used ethernet cord to router as backstop). Finally went to Progressive because I had to travel and had to have WiF.I took a bit of a risk and went - without an appointment - at spur of the moment, right when they opened. The gentlemen who answered the door offered, after a little explanation of the situation, to take a quick look to see if he could determine the problem and advise what was needed. Within five minutes the computer was returned completely fixed. He declined compensation, but fortunately I had some cash and was allowed to contribute to the pizza fund.Five stars isnt enough in my opinion

Data recovery is not something you should ever have to experience. This was the case for one of my clients with tax data he needed quickly. Richard and team at Progressive Tech not only were able to quickly diagnose two completely different projects; one with RAID and the other with a damaged drive but did it in under a week. Brought my computer to be fixed. Charged $75. They couldnt source the parts, so basically, they charged me to tell me that they couldnt get the parts needed to fix my computer. Sad. Funny part it is a relatively new HP product. Wont be going here ever again.

I took my computer here to be repaired on recommendation of my prior to repair place that only works with enterprise clients now. I expected it to take a while, and it did, but they were able to repair the computer without my having to reconfigure everything, which is a real boon, and Im thrilled beyond belief!

I dropped off my iMac and they had it for about a week, which given the oddness of my issue (infrequent kernel panics and a corrupted file) seemed pretty normal, especially with the whole COVID thing going on. During that time they were very good with keeping me updated with the progress and asking me specific questions. I now have my computer back and it is fully functional again. I recommend them highly.

Rip off & LIARS!!! Their reply is completely DISHONEST!!! They overcharged me for simple diagnostic work and REFUSED to allow me to supply my own parts. They will charge you twice as much for parts. My computer needed diagnostic work then replacement parts and I had no problem paying for parts and labor. I discussed what parts I wanted and they told me they would charge 2x the amount that I could purchase them off of Amazon, that they make money by charging twice the amount for parts and Eric said you cant get something for free. When I offered to order and drop off the parts and have them install them (of course paying for labor), Eric repeatedly replied your computer is ready for pick up and refused to help me any further. He refused to ask a technician if they were even willing to do that. I picked up my computer and I was able to rebuild it and saved a bunch of money and time.

I gave 2 stars out of compassion. The guy said you need to schedule online. I went online there is no schedule app. He is an IT right???! Anyways I requested to get my time at 12:00 for next day, no response. I arranged time with my family to take my computer to the shop expecting to be just fine. Well, once I got there I called and the guy said : nope! He game options for later, I said I could just drop the computer by the door and I can call at the later appointment, after all Covid -19 era right. The individual said no and no and no! Wow. I said, good luck with your business body.Ps I called a place nearby, ubreakifix and they said you can drop your computer any time and we will diagnose for free in about 3 days, yeah🤩🤩

I am a former customer who at one time gave the shop high marks for honesty and efficiency. However in the past year there has been a dramatic decline in their ethics. Some of their employees have left and the new team take another approach in solving your problems. They use to have a brief conversation with you about the pc and if it wasnt serious they would tell you how to fix it without cost. Now this time I get a clerk with an accent whotells me it could be repaired in a week or if I pay double in 48 hrs it would be FIXED!. Since I had such good service in years prior I believed him but after being charged almost $135.00 I went in two days later and was told that they need at least another $400.00 to do the repair and no guarantees. I was in shock and told the new man ( manager ) that I was told it would be repaired and he said nothing about the fee pertaining to a mere diagnosis. The manager giggled and said that it was a misunderstanding, so he closed out the bill which of course was already paid. gave me the computer and sent me on my way. What bothered me the most was how cavalier he was about taking my money and doing nothing to address the issue of being coned. The worker did come out to see what was going on and rather than have a discussion about the misunderstanding, he tells the manager, Do you want me to just close it out? Yes, Was his reply when he saw me hesitate about forking out another $400.00. I took the computer and left.

They take exposed computers outside in the rain to blow out the dust.

I can only highly recommend this place. They helped me out as quick as can be. Yesterday evening, shortly before their shop closing hour, I called them to ask about my mac book pro, which I urgently need for work, not any more booting and one of their team members even offered to come to the store one hour before the opening hours the next morning to ensure that the issue could get fixed as fast as possible. I stopped by early in the morning and handed over my laptop and after less than an hour, I had an email from them telling me that only one cable needed to be replaced if I agree to it and the laptop boots again. What a relief, so thanks to them again!!

My laptop died and would not boot back up. After some googling, it seemed like the issue might be the motherboard, but I called to see if they could take a look anyway. Fearing the worst, I brought it in and they diagnosed the problem (bad RAM) and fixed it quickly and didnt even charge me. Probably saved me at least several hours and definitely saved me money. Quick, helpful, and professional. Cant ask for more. Thanks guys.

These folks know what they are doing with Macs. Our office was having some systems issues with our 4 year old iMacs. They gave us great advice and ramped up the computers to lightening fast speeds. The price was fair and reasonable and they did the work over a weekend so we had zero down time.

Absolute terrible experienced, even after seeing the reviews I thought Id give them a chance. They gave me a false RAM failing diagnosis (I repair computers for a living) and instead of offering to buy new ram they told me I needed to buy a whole new machine. Underhanded a-holes, they also put a damn sticker on my laptop which I cant really wash off!! I hate progressive tech, these guys are awful.

Incredible service; great people, very fast, and really knowledgeable! It only took a couple of days for me to get my screen replaced (without the priority service) and I had a really great chat with the guy Id had most of my interactions with when I was picking it up. He also was spot-on in the estimate he gave me for what it would cost to do the repairs. It was pretty out of my way to come here, but worth every second of the extra drive, and Ill definitely be coming back for anything I might need in the future.

These guys are not honest, do not bother giving money to them. I was charged $375 for a 500gb SSD install, which included data transfer. I guess around $300 should be expected, but the issue I have is they charged $60 for what the guy said was a “rush fee”. I never asked for the job to be rushed, and nobody mentioned anything to me about it, or about the extra $60 fee. I’ll make sure not to come back to this place.

Highly recommend Progressive Tech! Today, after having been told by another shop that my MacBook Air needed a $650-to-$950 upgrade to address my almost-full storage, I went to Progressive Tech for another opinion. I was helped within two minutes, my issue was identified and resolved in about a minute, turned out my storage was being used up by a needless Photos duplication. No charge. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, I now know where Ill go whenever I have a question or problem with my MacBook.

There are times you turn to specialized professional services for issues that require great care. In our case, our Mac crashed completely and all of our lifes photos were seemingly unrecoverable. I called a number of places that were suggested to me by Apple. While many of these places promised me state of the art facilities, they were all incredibly expensive. After much research, one of the places that Apple recommended to me suggested I call Progressive Tech. They told me that they often refer business to Progressive Tech and trust them implicitly. Given that I stood to lose thousands of extremely important photographs, I did not hesitate to call. Progressive Tech was incredibly flexible and very responsive to my request. While it took a couple of tries to get it right, these guys stood behind their promise of quality product and satisfaction. Fraiser and Laurence took the time to make sure that we walked away happy. It is amazing to meet people who can make miracles happen. While it seems corny, you would feel the same way if thousands of your most precious photos (documenting your familys most important moments) were not within your reach. Thank you Progressive Tech. You come highly recommended.

Ive had several occasions to leave my laptop here for repairs and am always happy with the results. Even better, when its apparent to them that repairs arent called for because all thats malfunctioning is my level of computer literacy, they dont take advantage of this. Great guys, great shop, cant speak highly enough of them.

Nice guys. They do what they say. But you will PAY FOR IT. The $60 diagnosis/evaluation charge is not applicable toward whatever work is done. I spent $536 bucks for diagnosis, replace my hard drive, install windows 10, an anti-virus/malware program and, of course, tax. The highest price I could find for the new hard drive was $109 on line. Progressive Tech charged me $180 for the hard drive and $150 to install it. They even dinged me a $20 installation charge on a security package for the new hard drive, on top of the $80 I already paid for those features. Rent and wages must be very high in Roosevelt. I should have bought a new computer. Never again. UPDATE ON 2 STAR REVIEW....Received a call from Progressive Tech partner Martin day after my review. He was genuinely concerned about my dis-satisfaction and was MORE THAN REASONABLE to make things right. This type of consideration and interest in the customer is indeed rare these days and Progressive Tech is to be commended for how theyve chosen to conduct business. I will be a repeat customer should the need arise. Thanks Martin.

Nothing but positive things to say about these guys. Had a hard drive just poof disappear, no longer recognized as a drive by my computer, and they were able to get my data back. From start to finish, great service, and they explained my options and costs clearly and were always very up-front. Pricing is very reasonable, at least for what I needed done. Start here first, they will probably also be the last place you go.

Love these guys! Went to the Apple Store and they said my iMac was one year older than they would work on. They offered to recycle it for me. Then one employee there recommended Progressive Tech. I brought it in and they replaced the power supply and did it even faster than promised. They told me all the prices up front. They even asked me if I was interested in getting a quote for upgrades. I could have said no and they would have just fixed the power supply. I opted to hear about the upgrades and they let me know that they could bump up the macs RAM and my machine would run better than ever. Yes! I wanted this. So, they fixed my computer and increased the performance. Sorry Apple, no recycling needed! Thanks Progressive Tech!

These guys are crooks and dont know the first thing about data recovery. Or they do know about data recovery and they are just crooks. I took a hard drive in that was missing 4,000 files. They were more than happy to take our $600 after they promised to have found 4,000 files on our hard drive that we sent in for recovery. The problem was, these 4,000 files were already accessible on the hard drive, so they did not actually successfully recover any files. It seemed like they just copied some files that were already there and then claimed they were recovered. So you may be thinking, OK, well the 4,000 files you were looking for must not have been able to be recovered. WRONG. I spent a few hours online and days of hard work, and sure enough, I was able to recover 3,500/4,000 files on the hard drive. So that means that not only did they lie to us, they did not do a thorough enough job of scanning the hard drive. Not only that, the files were sequentially ordered in the hard drive (its not like they were fragmented or anything). I was able to figure out my data recovery problem, so thats good, but I definitely feel like the $600 I paid to these experts was just money down the drain. In fact, I am considering to start my own hard drive recovery business because I found out just how easy it is to get money from desperate people. $600 is a lot of money, and these guys supposedly know what they are doing, so I consider them to be just scam artists that do the easiest thing, get no results, and then are more than happy to collect your money.

I havent had any repairs done here but my experience over the phone and in person with the folks who work here was enough to convince me to come back in the future. They were professional, helpful, organised, and willing to offer sound, reasonable advice about issues with my laptop screen. They were not at all pushy, and didnt try to convince me to get anything done that wasnt in my best interests. They also were kind enough to tolerate the barrage of questions from my partner, providing information that was very useful. So they get 5 stars for helping us out when they really didnt have to.

This place is the best. The people who work there are thorough and helpful. The first time I came here they told me I could fix my problem by updating Windows instead of paying them to fix it. Ive been going back ever since and every time Ive been happy. They explain the problems to me, give me good advice, and ultimately let me make the decision.

I came in tonight because my Mac no longer starts up, and its so old that Apple doesnt support it anymore. With an older machine, I had resigned myself to the fact that I need to purchase a new laptop. However, I still needed to get the data off of my dead laptop. I searched online, and found that Progressive Tech would support older Macs. Lawrence was extremely helpful in explaining options, fees for services, and helping me determine next steps. He was able to remove the hard drive from my old laptop, and it still had all of my files! I am extremely thankful for the high quality service I received and definitely recommend Progressive Tech for any computer needs.

I contacted Progressive Tech about possibly helping me out with a brand new computer build I had just ordered parts for. They said they would be happy to help me out. I decided to get started on my own when the parts arrived, but when I put the Power Supply in after setting up multiple other components, I decided the best course of action for finishing up the last parts of it efficiently was to bring it in to them. They gave me a really fair price and were up front about the amount of work they currently had, which saved me some money by not paying an extra fee to get it to the start of the line. I brought my computer in and Lawrence checked it in (who is the person I originally spoke to on the phone). The work was done in two days, and after another employee worked on the build, Lawrence went in and improved the cable management to ensure my new PC was in as good of a condition as possible. Its been running great for a couple weeks now and Im totally happy I made the decision to bring it in.

In this barren age of chains and malls its very unusual to find a place that is competent and you can trust. Its like the car repair shop youve been going to for 20 years or the small Italian Restaurant that never fails. If you want to keep your computer and simply fix it Progressive is the place theyre all talking about.

My computer froze and then would not restart fully after I turned it off. I was completely panicked because some of my important documents were not backed up. I took it to Progressive Tech; they found it had a faulty motherboard and were able to turn my hard drive into a new, functioning external drive. My important documents were recovered! They completed the work at a reasonable price as well. Im forever grateful for their services.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This is an utter rip off. They charged me $110 for a WRONG DIAGNOSIS and tried to SCAM me as well. My windows was not starting and I brought my laptop here. They charged 60$ for diagnosis and then 50$ additional for urgent services. After one day they told me that my hard drive had crashed and that it would cost $250 for a new one plus another $300 for my data. I couldnt believe that the diagnosis was correct so I decided to get a second opinion from an IT student at UW. He checked my laptop and fixed it in 3 hours with all my data intact. Regret having wasted my money with these guys. Im typing this review on a fully functional hard drive that they diagnosed as crashed.updated 24/06/2020When I spoke to you over the phone there was no mention of a refund. My main issue was that a UW student backed up all my data and gave it to me at no cost within hours. I spent over a $100 and got nothing worth while from you. In any case, ill be happy to take down the review if you refund my money as it is not my intention to hurt your business.

I cant recommend Progressive Tech enough! Ive been using them for years. I dont have a good computer vocabulary, but they are always patient with me and dont treat me like Im an idiot! They are honest about what needs to be done and the cost. Their work is consistently of a high quality and is done in a timely manner. They have an integrity not often seen these days. Recently I spilled coffee on my laptop and it died. Progressive Tech was able to save my data and put it into my new laptop with no worries to me, in a very short time. I feel so fortunate to have them.

My two grandchildren each spilled water on their respective Mac Book Airs.Apple quoted $750 per computer to repair for a total of $1500.Progressive charged $539 to fix both, saving me $961 from the Apple quote. Worked with them recently to get a laptop back up and running after some...laymans repairs (aka I messed things up and didnt know how to fix it). Their friendly staff got me all checked in, kept me in the loop on status of the project, and made prudent recommendations for how to handle the fix (as example, they told me that theyd be happy to do a data backup and reinstall my OS, but that it would likely be more economical for me to do it myself).In summary, these folks are friendly, knowledgeable and fair in their work, and Id recommend them highly to anyone needing an IT solution.

Progressive Tech worked magic by restoring the information on my 6-1/2 year old hard drive from a Dell desktop after it crashed and the discovery that my backup was not effective. They went way beyond their technical competency by extending extraordinary customer service including guidance on how to best utilize a piece of hardware that they furnished as part of the transaction. I could not be more pleased with the outcome.

Outstanding work and terrific customer service, there isnt much more you can ask of a business.I first met them when my MacBook Pro had died, and rather then take my business, they double checked and sent me to Apple, because it was under warranty.Now that my MacBook is no longer under warranty and I wanted an upgrade I went back to them to see about getting the work done. They were courteous through the entire process, explaining everything to me anytime I had a question. They did great work, getting me back my computer right on schedule. We actually hit a speed bump when one of the sticks of RAM they replaced actually went bad, but they were amazing about it. They took my computer right back as soon as I walked in, diagnosed the issue, got it running again and replaced the bad RAM at no charge. They even cleaned up a bit of a malware issue I was having, again, at no cost.Theyre great as far as a business goes, but as a tech business, they are head and shoulders above the rest. Theres no place else I will bring my computer to while Im on the West Coast.

Excellent customer service!The apple store referred me to a data recovery specialist because they were afraid my hard drive had crashed and I had not backed up my computer. Progressive Tech was unbelievably friendly from the beginning and explained each step of the process for me. We talked on the phone several times and they were extremely patient (I know very little about computers). When I came to pick my fixed computer up, they spent an extra 15 minutes walking me through everything - it was exceptional.

My experience with Progressive Tech has been superlative. The prices are quite fair (and when Ive come to Progressive Tech for help with small things, they havent even charged me). They are people-centric - someone answers the phone, you talk directly with a technician, etc, - with incredible technical skill. I came to them with a problem which made me think that I might need a new computer; however, within a very short period of time, they solved the problem completely. Bottom-line: Progressive Tech sets the standard.

I had a portable hard drive fail that had about 2 years worth of projects on it. Progressive Tech was able to recover the data and save it onto a healthy drive. They were extremely professional and courteous and the price was very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone with a data recovery problem. Dont stress! Just bring the drive to Progressive Tech.

My 2011 MacBook Pro was running at a snails pace, and running hot. Took it in to these guys based on strong reviews here and on Puget Sound Consumers Checkbook, and was immediately convinced that they were trustworthy and knowledgeable. They diagnosed it and clearly communicated to me my options (new solid state hard drive + doubled RAM, or a new machine) and I opted to have them do the work. They did it quickly and well, and my machine is really humming along. Couldnt recommend them more highly.

The staff here is great! They were very thorough in explaining all of my options and broke it down in a way that the not so tech savvy could completely grasp. Plus their services are priced well and they work fast. I would highly recommend these guys when looking to get work done on devices!!

I was a customer a while back, needed a diagnostic for my tower for some problems I was having. Turned out my power supply was the issue and I required a special one because of the case I had. I got busy and sort of let things lie since my problem sort of went away till recently but by then I had moved to NC. I called them hoping to work some sort of deal in order to avoid another diagnostic cost but Megan was very happy just to give me the part information since I was no longer the area. Above and beyond I say, well deserving of its stellar reputation!

Progressive Tech did outstanding work on my Macbook Air. They were able to give me sound advice over the phone, take it in right before closing, and get to work on it first thing the next morning. Within hours they called, letting us know what could be salvaged (we were expecting it to be a total loss, it was a coffee spill across the the keyboard), and they were able to quickly do a full cleaning and save the laptop enough to where it can plugged in to an external monitor. All of this was included in a completely reasonable flat fee, and done lightning fast! The employees were awesome to deal with, and the experience, which could have really sucked, was actually pleasant considering my computers fate. I highly recommend them for all of your computer needs!

Too bad I cant give them 10 stars. Simply the best service I have received for any tech stuff. People are honest, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. Their work is super fast and detailed. They basically wiped out all my bad impression on tech repairing service I have received.

Progressive Tech rescued all of our files off of a dying hard drive in just a couple of days. They were very up front about available options, pricing, and chances of success, and they did exactly what they said they would do, with clear communication every step of the way. Now the baby pictures are safe. And, they are open on Sunday and until 7 during the week, allowing us to solve our home computer problem on a full time work schedule We hope we dont need them again anytime soon, but they will be our first call for computer support and repair.

I took my touch screen laptop to be repaired. It took over a month to get it back and once received the touch portion did not work. I was told the warranty expired and I would have to pay all over again to get it fixed after paying almost 500. The lady on the phone said they are only responsible for the screen not the touch features. But what I had repaired was a touch screen.Ive had my computers fixed here before but based on this experience I will not go back just based on the lack of accountability and responsibility on their part.Update:I receive a call and they informed me the part was actually malfunctioning intermittently but there was nothing they could do other than order another screen (which I would have to pay for all over again). They also informed me now the operating system no longer worked at all and I would have to pay for a new one. Again this had never been an issue.Lesson learned: next time just buy a new laptop

I came here with a laptop with a screen which didnt work. We verified this by connecting the laptop with the a different display and it worked perfect. The person at progressive tech told us that it will cost us about $125 to get it replaced and asked us to pay $66 which I paid. After 2-3 days, I get a call saying that they have determined that the problem is with the screen and we have to pay additional 100$(for the screen) + 75$(labour). Making it almost worth a new laptop. When I said that the guy who took our laptop didnt explain to us that 66$ is to actually detect the problem, Lorenz(from progressive tech) didnt listen to us and said that his guy clearly explained the procedure which he didnt.Progressive tech should understand that people who come here are really debating whether to bite the bullet and buy a new laptop or get their broken laptop fixed. As responsible business owners you should clearly explain what charges are involved.Update: Martin from Progressive tech called up and said they give 100% satisfaction gauarantee and said he would help me since he doesn’t want to put any more financial burden on us. I called progressive tech when my computer stopped working suddenly and after I was unable to fix or diagnose the problem myself. The gentleman on the phone knew what the problem was immediately and recommended I purchase a new computer. I was able to bring my old computer in for diagnosis and data retrieval, then they loaded the retrieved data onto my new computer for a reasonable cost, then recycled my old computer.The service was prompt. I encountered 4 different techs and they were all knowledgable, efficient, friendly, and super helpful regarding every step of this transition process. There is parking behind the building- wish I had known that earlier, but there is good street parking, too. The hours are convenient, too.I came here based on google reviews and my initial phone encounter. I highly recommend their services to folks out there using The Google.

Went here on a recommendation from Glazer Cameras. I had a corrupted SD card with over 2000 pictures on it. They were able to recover and restore over 99% of the pictures. It only took a couple days and all the employees were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend!

What the Apple store couldnt get done in over a week or under $600,Progressive Tech did OVERNIGHT for $200!!!Super nice customer service, and not pretentious.They spec solid state hard drives for repair at super reasonable prices; which is awesome because it means theyre selling a product designed to last, instead of just insuring youll have to come back over and over to replace the same component.I also picked up a repair for my partner and was glad to know they check to make sure that you are who you say you are, and picking up the correct property.Thanks

Outstanding customer service that is rarely seen any more. All businesses should learn from them.The hard drive on my seven-year old, 17” MacBook Pro died, losing all my data but most importantly, all of my daughter’s baby photos. When I brought it in they walked me through the process of what could be done and were very realistic. Being a layperson I really appreciated not being talked down to. Their turn-around time was always faster than their estimates and their follow-up was exemplary. They called with all updates and explained the situation so I can make the next decision. They emailed confirmations immediately after all phone calls of the agreed-upon next step and cost. Luckily they were able to recovery all my data, baby pics included!Initially I thought my old laptop was dead and intended to buy another Mac, but ended up having them fix my laptop and bring it up to par to a new one, saving me over $1k, which is especially good since Mac doesn’t make 17” MBPs anymore. They did not push this service at all, just gave me my options and let me decide. They’re extremely professional and down to earth. I plan to go to them whenever I need help with my Mac.

These guys are incredible! They handled me with kid gloves. I lost 20,000+ photos…5 years of my life on the line. I was really stressed when I called. They are psychotherapists as much as computer techs. Not only did they recover all my lost data, they also upgraded my Mac. Its a sports car now!
