My roommate and I brought in our bag of clothes that we had intended for the longest while to get tailored. Mine included five pairs of womens dress pants (including some more alternative styles) and a jumpsuit. We went in without an appointment towards the end of the day, and the tailor, Jody, took the time to ensure each of us was satisfied with the suggested alterations. Our clothes were ready within 1.5 weeks. Everything fit PERFECTLY. I could not believe the difference. While the pricing was a little hard for me to swallow ($35 per pants pair to adjust the seat), the quality cannot be overstated. I will absolutely return for future alterations.

I was in a panic after three tailoring businesses all told me they wouldn’t/couldn’t take in my bridesmaid dress. I called Jody and asked to show her, and when I arrived, she worked miracles! I had pinned it just where I thought it needed to be taken in, and she had me try it on in her shop so she could re-pin it professionally (hallelujah) and got it done within two weeks! She was kind, knowledgeable, and so professional. When I called in to pick up the dress, she had me try on the altered garment to make sure it was satisfactory. I thought it was PERFECT! Thank you, Jody!

Paid over $100 just to shorten a dress. It was a week late, and I never got notified that it was ready. When I asked for certain things to avoid additional cost, I was turned down and told that I needed to pay the extra fee. When the dress arrived, it was completely shredded at the hem. By the time it was “ready”, it was too late for me to go somewhere else to fix it in time for the event. The worst part of all, and the reason that I write this review, is that when I took the dress out of the bag to find the shredded hem, I called Blue Tulip and left a voicemail - never got a response or an apology. Please do not waste your time or money.

Jody is amazing, kind, and professional. She responded within minutes after I emailed her with questions about a zipper replacement for my purse. I also brought in my jacket for a zipper replacement the day I dropped off my purse, and, all I can say is that Im so happy with both my purse and jacket that Im gonna be taking everything to her from now on. Thanks again, Jody! :)

Jody is amazing! She relined a leather purse for me that I have been trying to get done for years as there are not many in Seattle who work with leather! Her work is spotless and I love how it came out! Her prices are super reasonable and shes very attentive to detail. I would definitely recommend her!

The owner went the extra mile to finish patching my fishermans sweater for the third winter in a row. Im a dog walker and wear this sweater daily during winter months, so theres a lot of wear and tear at the end of the season. Shes always been able to reinforce all frayed edges on the cuffs, bottom and neck, plus mend the holes in quick turn-around time. I highly recommend this business for all my tailoring needs.

Just wanted to share that I was a potential customer with about 20 garments to alter. After reading these extensive negative reviews, I decided to take my business elsewhere in the neighborhood. Customer service is important and makes a difference in where people decide to do business!

A number of years ago I bought a new coat which I loved but which needed to be taken in. The tailoring was somewhat tricky, but Dianes did a lovely job on the coat and I am still enjoying wearing it. When I saw that Dianes was moving I was bummed, but glad it was still not far away. I ventured out to find the new location when my next need for a repair occurred. After one visit it now feels pretty easy to park for free and walk half a block to get there. Dianes did the work in a timely manner and I am very happy with the job and the price.

Im so happy to find Dianes Alterations. I bought 3 pair of jeans which needed a tuck here and there. I also needed them hemmed. They did a great job and fast turn around time. The staff was super friendly. I like the location there is easy and free parking I will be coming back soon.

My most recent experience with Dianes made me inspired to write a review, because the customer service was awful. Ive been to Dianes twice before, due to the convenience of the location. Both times the attitude of the staff has been cold and rude. This last time, I purchased a shirt from University Village for a wedding, and I needed some darts put in, so I called Dianes to see if they would be able to do that in the next 5 days (a not altogether unreasonable request for darts, but I was still expecting them to say no due to the tight timeline). Instead, the person on the phone responded I dont know. I explained that I was flying out of town and that I needed it by a specific date, so if they werent able to do it, I just need to know. And she said I cant answer that question for you. I guess it just depends on how many people bring in their clothes before you. This was after I explained that I could be there in 5 minutes.I called another place in town and they are happy to help me out. I hope Dianes staff can learn some manners, or even some basic customer service skills.

Bad experience. Dropped off my wife’s sweater which was in need of a repair, received a ticket and was told I’d receive a call with approximate pricing before they would begin to do the work. Left very satisfied and waited for call. A few weeks later and two days prior to the date on the ticket (when it was supposed to be ready) I called and couldn’t get anyone to answer. Called again later in day and spoke with someone who knew nothing of the sweater status and she suggested that I call back later when Diane was around. I simply asked that she leave her a message with my number instead which seemed to frustrate the person I spoke with. Later that night Diane called me and asked what I needed help with. After explaining that I had a garment ticket, described the sweater and that it was due 2 days from being “due” for pickup she said she didn’t recall anything about the sweater or our conversation about her calling me with a price first. She initially couldn’t even locate the sweater and when I expressed concern on the phone about this entire process she became angry and told me she was no longer interested in repairing it because I was being “nasty” - which those who know me might laugh at because I rarely am nasty about anything. I was just expressing frustration that she knew nothing of our sweater, I never received a call and that it was due in 2 days. Once she located it she essentially “fired me” as a customer and said it would be waiting for me and that she had no intention of working on it because she “didn’t like how this was going”. I won’t be going back to Diane’s which seems to be in their best interest too because I am so “nasty” by asking about my garment status when they didn’t call me- which was THEIR suggested next step - not mine. Proceed with caution! We all have bad days but this was hard to understand?

I have had many, many different tailors in Seattle, but I have used the same person now for the last 3 years. I can tell you from experience, both on a skill level and price level, not to mention the onerous attitude of Diane, that this place doesnt cut it. Well, the work is fair, Ill give it that. But, the prices are very high and I believe Diane sets the tone for the attitude of her staff. Such a shame, would love to have this as my back-up tailor shop.

I called & asked for a rough estimate for a simple hem to slim down the sleeves on a jacket but the lady on the phone was incredibly rude about it & made repeat it about 3 times because she still didnt know what I want(ed) done. After reading all these similar reviews of the whole staff acting like this & their ridiculous prices, I will be taking my money somewhere else.

Never actually been to this establishment, but I did call over the phone to get a rough price estimate on a garment alteration, the estimate seemed outlandishly expensive for such a job and the lady on the phone was very dismissive and rude. She raised her voice at me when I elaborated more on what I wanted done on the garment, so....decide for yourself if you want to give deal with a business where employees are so rude and unhelpful. A lot of other google reviews state this place is overpriced and does mediocre work and I believe that fully.

I was visiting a friend of mine at the Univ of Washington when my pants split. We did a quick google search and found Dianes Alterations nearby. I borrowed a pair of sweats and we ran over. They fixed us right up while we went out and had a burger and a beer. Then it was done! Great job!

Overpriced and the final product was not how we originally had it pinned during fitting. $83 for two pairs of pants to be hemmed to a boot cut and when asked why the top portion of the pants was not also hemmed, as requested, I was told itd be an additional charge. Employees make you feel uncomfortable and awkward for asking questions. Take your business elsewhere..I now have to take my pants to ANOTHER tailor. Goodbye $80

The two most unhappy and rude women I have ever seen in a customer based business. They seem miserable to have to get up and help a customer. A waste of my time, as well as being over priced with the inability to recreate the look desired even with an actual physical example for reference.

I would give it 0 starts if I could. My wife gets quite a few things altered and recommended Dianes, saying she did decent work. I tried an online suit place called indochino. Their policy says before reimbursement for alterations, they need a couple of measurements. This is to see if the company needs to cut a whole new suit or ok the alterations. The directions for the measurements are on the forms super simple I probably could have done it myself. The first lady I spoke with was nice but did not speak the language fluently. This lady then asked for Diane. I am going to refrain from any profanity but WOW was she RUDE. I understand I may not have been the most well dressed because I was running errands but Diane talked to me like every breathe she expended on me somehow drained her soul. Funny thing is my wife who spends quite a chunk of change on alterations will not be going back in there anymore. Also if she paid a little attention she would have noticed the shirt I bought in with it suit is a Zenga, those are my usual suits. Just because I dont believe in conspicuous consumption that is fancy close doe not mean I am trash that is beneath you. I feel kinda sad for you Diane.Instead I went to Judys alterations in freemont. Judy was head and shoulders better then this place.
