Such an amazing experience with Svetlana, she worked a freaking miracle when she altered my wedding dress I got on consignment that was about 2 sizes too big. It was really tricky lace, but she brought it in, up, and kept all the special details that I loved about my dress. Her pricing was incredibly fair and her service was fantastic. The best! Svetlana has been doing alterations for decades and can do any job of any complexity. It always comes out beautifully. She saved me so many times because off the rack clothes often dont fit me and I have to get them altered.

Svetlana is a genius! She is so delightful, thorough and her work is meticulous. I have had many dresses hemmed, skirts taken in, cashmere sweaters patched. All have been terrifically executed. She is also very fair. I have brought in about a half dozen dresses over the years I thought needed to be altered, but she is very honest and will tell me, “I can do it, but it already fits perfectly, don’t waste your money”. That is how you know she really is putting the customer first! Every time is a pleasant experience. I highly, highly recommend!

Svetlana & her team regularly work WONDERS on my manly workwear (hemming multiple pairs of my Filson Oil Tin Pants ((VERY thick material & Svetlana made it look perfect, like it came out of a factory!)) installing suspender buttons on some double-thick duck canvas pants), and she even fixed the breast pocket on my favorite leather jacket. American Freestyle Alterations is my all-time favorite tailor & I will never hesitate to bring them anything that I need hemmed, altered, or anything at all! Yassin did an amazing job letting out a dress for me that was just a bit too small. Although there wasn’t a lot of extra fabric to work with, she was able to make it fit much more comfortably. She also worked really well with my time constraints. I needed the dress to be completed within two days, and she was more than happy to work with that time. Her and the other seamstress at American Freestyle Alterations are so sweet, and I will definitely be coming back here if anymore alterations ever pop up!

High quality workmanship and customer service. I know little to nothing about alteration or about a good fit for mens suit. Svetlana and Yassin made the entire experience really easy and enjoyable. They understand and care about their customers needs. I brought in my wedding suit with two week timeframe and despite the extensive work it required Yassin finished the job on time and to perfection. Yassin was thorough with her explanation and she was attentive to how I felt about the changes that were being made to my suit throughout the process. American Freestyle did an amazing job of altering the used wedding dress that my daughter fell in love with. It was a simple all silk dress, but it was way to big and the Edges had a lot more wear than we had noticed before purchasing. They did a fabulous job and essentially remade the dress, refinishing all the edges with a lovely finish that was better than the original. She looked stunning and the dress fit like a glove!

I needed a pair of pants hemmed overnight. They were very accommodating and got it done. However, one month after having it done the hem has completely come undone. I now have to have it redone. So, I cant exactly praise their quality of workmanship. If you cant handle a simple hem, how can you handle more complex tailoring jobs?

Ive never actually gotten anything done here, but I brought in a suit I wanted altered for a wedding once. They took one look at it and told me that it would be much cheaper for me to go buy a new better fitting suit than to pay them to make the changes I needed.It speaks a lot to how they treat their customers if theyre willing to turn you away for better options elsewhere.

I brought my wedding dress and a reception dress to be altered for my wedding. Maybe Id have a better experience with Svetlana I dont know, but I had a terrible experience with Anna. Firstly Anna couldnt finish the alterations in time, and pushed back the pick up date twice to ONE DAY before I was supposed to fly out for my wedding. I remember reading a review on Yelp about how Anna lost a bridesmaid dress a day before the customer had to attend a wedding so I really didnt want to risk the same situation happening a day before Im set to leave. I was supposed to have 3 things done to my wedding dress 1) take the bust in 2) bring up the waist 3) shorten the dress hem, and 2) was very time-consuming according to Anna and she hadnt started on either of the 3 things on the original day I was supposed to pick up the dress. In order to get the altered dress ASAP, I told Anna to just finish 1) and 3) and Ill hide the waist portion myself with a belt.Secondly, the reception dress did not fit. She just took in the waist and left the armholes way too big. Also, you can tell very clearly that one of bust dart was taken in hurriedly and the alteration stuck out like a sore thumb. There goes my elegant look.Future brides, please beware. You really dont need extra stress added to your big day.

Sadly had a terrible experience here. The store I bought my wedding dress from had recommend this location. It was hot, crowded and chaos inside. Once my dress was put on, the owner didnt know how to lace it in the back properly even though I was trying to guide her. Finally she figured it out but missed a loop causing the dress to be completely lopsided. She told me my dress was ruined and that Id need to reorder a new one. I literally walked away crying. I went back to my bridal shop and they found she had missed a loop and nothing was wrong at all. Her lack of detail is concerning for any bride to bring their dress there. This place might be good for day-to-day hems and alterations but I would 100% not recommend for wedding or anything that is important to you. Not impressed at all.

Svetlana at America Freestyle Alterations is nothing short of magical! I came to this establishment needing an emergency fix on a bridesmaid gown I was scheduled to be in the very NEXT DAY! My dress wouldnt zip up in the back, my preggo belly grew much faster than I had predicted, so even though I ordered my dress 3 sizes bigger, it didnt fit. I came in right away and she kindly and calmly reassured me everything was going to be okay. She had to add 8 INCHES to the back! She cleverly made the back of my dress into a corset in a span of 6 hours and it was absolutely beautiful! She is so sweet, professional, and knows her stuff! Thank you so much Svetlana, you literally SAVED ME! Definitely recommend this place!

I entered this shop in order to get a suit altered for a wedding I was attending. Not sure if this affected anything, but it was after work, and it was terrible. What came immediately to mind was that it was like a sweat shop. Clothing was strewn across the entire place. It was also a very tiny little shop. The line was very long and there were only 2 people. I waited more than an hour before leaving..Also, Im not sure what the cult of Svetlana is about (there seems to be a lot of reviews about her). She certainly puts on a good face. But when I asked a store rep from Brooks Brothers if I should get alterations done from American Freestyle Alterations, they told me theyve only heard bad things about the place.. Glad I didnt get my alterations done here.

Svetlana helped me out in a nightmare situation where my wedding dress that was ordered fit differently than the one in the store. Although working with difficult fabric and complex patterns she did an AMAZING job and for a reasonable price. She also helped me with how to communicate with the team that sold me the dress to get a resolution and helped me take photos to show what the problems were. She is an expert and everything she has worked on has been top quality.

Anna Lee has to be one of the best tailors in town!! If not the best! I had my wedding suit made in another local popular shop, but it had a few problems fitting on me comfortably. After a couple of recommended adjustments by the shop, the suit still didnt feel quite right so I took it to another shop to be altered but the problem persisted. Anna Lee took one remeasurement of the the suit on me, completed the alteration, and fitted me early the following day. I went to my wedding in the suit, perfectly fitting on my body!!

Svetlana did a great job fitting my dress for me! My dress needed to be altered in several areas, and I couldnt be happier with the final result. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! She was also very professional and listened to me when I had questions. She added a bustle to my dress so I could pull up the train, and it looked really nice. My dress was lace, and I couldnt even tell where the alternations had been made afterwards, they were done so well.

The SO went to get a dress altered. It came back almost destroyed. No refund offered and we had to go elsewhere to get it done. So basically we were robbed. The stitching on the dress was horrendous. As if they hired a cat to do it. Im not even sure if it was a practical joke. Could not trust them to do anything more. Would not trust them to patch a tear on a cotton t-shirt at this rate. Not even certain how so many people gave them such a high rating. Has the ownership or people working there changed recently? Not sure. Dont go here, not worth the time.

I bought a pair of stunner 40s silk pants that were too long. i was nervous to have them altered due to the material and age, but AFA did an incredible job, and were quick! also, svetlana is an absolute dream human and youll find yourself looking for more things to have altered just so you can visit her :)

I am very impressed by their great service! The zipper on my leather jacket broke (whilst on a cross country motorcycle trip). Apparently this is a tough job to fix since multiple tailors in town didnt dare to touch it. The one guy that did said it would be done in two weeks, which wasnt an option since I was on a motorcycle trip.When I entered this store the personnel was very helpful and made some calls to ensure my jacket would get fixed within 2 days! They even used a different zipper than the one I bought since it looked nicer. I got my jacket back in mint condition and I could continue my trip!Needless to say I was very pleased with their service and would recommend this tailor to anyone.

Svetlana is amazing!! Im rather butch and had a ton of anxiety over having to wear a dress for my sisters wedding, dreading having to go through the alteration process most of all. But Svetlana was so ridiculously friendly and kind to both my girlfriend and I, we ended up not wanting to leave! And on top of her great personality, she was also very quick and professional. I very much recommend her, especially to LGBT+ folks, or anyone who is stressed out by dresses and alterations in general.

My husband and I used American Freestyle Alterations in Seattle for our alterations on our wedding attire. I had my dress done (extensive changes, more info below) and my husband had his suit pants hemmed. I will start off by saying that Svetlana is the sweetest person Ive ever met in my life. She is so insanely kind, and makes you feel so comfortable and right at home. I had actual nightmares about getting my dress alterations done, yet as soon as I walked in I felt completely at ease.I am very short so my dress required a significant amount of changes. My first appointment went really quickly considering the extent of the changes we needed. It has a long train and four layers - and the top layer has appliques that had to be worked around, so this was no easy feat. First, I had it cut shorter and hemmed (which turned out absolutely beautifully). We added 3 bustles: a French bustle on the bottom layer, a French bustle that tied the two middle layers together, and a 6 point American bustle on the top layer. It looked absolutely beautiful, you could definitely tell I had a bustle but it didnt stick out and I felt that it was extremely flattering and easy to move around in. I also had the straps shortened, the clip in the back fixed, cups added so I wouldnt have to wear a bra, and I think a couple of other smaller things that I cant remember off the top of my head. The cost of this at other alterations places was so high but Svetlana worked completely within my budget and I was so grateful for that.When I went to try it on the first time after alterations, it fit like a glove and I didnt need any changes at all. At this time, we also brought my husbands suit pants in, and they did a similarly fantastic job on those as well. We were both 100% happy with how they fit and looked awesome in our wedding getups.Any time I need alterations I plan to return to this shop because they are absolutely awesome in value, service, and quality!!

Everything was sown on loosely. Its all falling apart. For example the buttons on the waist has falling off. The hemming on my pant leg has fallen off. I had 4 suits altered and they all have something wrong. I paid a lot of money for this and now I have to go waste more of my time for them to fix what they should have done the first time.

Svetlnana did an amazing job on my complicated wedding dress - I would give 7 stars if I could. I went to two other recommenced seamstresses before finding Sveltlana. The others would of hacked the dress and broken the design of the applicas i was almost in tears and sick to my stomach till I found her. Sveltlana did an amazing job and the alterations the right way not the easy way.Getting the bridesmaids dresses done with her as well.
