I am very pleased with Renovate Construction. To begin with, every person that I interacted with was professional, but more than that, they were nice to be around! That is so important when a crew is working in and around your home for weeks on end. Our project ended up being bigger than I had initially planned, for several reasons, but the team stayed on time, on budget and in good contact with me throughout the process. I loved their ideas and their work; I would definitely work with Renovate Construction on another project.

Mike Thomas and his team seemed professional at first but then they kept asking for money once I told them they needed to finish they left and never came back.The initial bid was $36000 Ive given them 50k and this is what im left with.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - SCAMI am currently talking to lawyers about suing this guy.

We had a unique idea for our basement that involved adding an outside door, moving a closet, and rebuilding a staircase. We also wanted to finish out our basement with a new bedroom, bathroom, rec room, and storage. From the very beginning of the design process through construction, we got excellent information about what it would take. We decided to take a phased approach for budget reasons, and completed Phase 1 in the fall of 2020.Any renovation project will most likely take longer and cost more than you expect, but what I appreciated most about Renovate was that they were excellent communicators. I felt like we always knew what was happening and what to expect, and when we were surprised, everything was explained in detail. For example, they found asbestos in some floor tiles we wanted to remove, and Derek took us aside to explain everything that would need to happen to get rid of it. At another point, because it was covid times, the company had a virus-scare, and I got a call from Amanda outlining the safety precautions they were going to take. And our foreman Jesse checked in with us every day he was there and emailed every week with updates and checklists.The whole team was just lovely!

I recently had Renovate do a significant remodel of a 50 year old duplex. They built me 2 brand new bathrooms, a new kitchen, an interior wall, and they also strengthened my deck. They impressed me every step of the way with their professionalism, craftsmanship, and problem-solving. I highly recommend them for any project you’re considering; as far as I’m concerned I’ve found a contractor for life.If you’d like more detail, I’ve included some of the highlights of my experience belowProfessionalism: From the moment you meet RD, the lead carpenter, you’ll know you’re in good hands. He gave me a detailed, reasonable estimate for the work (and when I say detailed, I mean detailed). The crew was on-site every single day until the work was done. I paid exactly what we discussed on the estimate, except for the surprises (more on that later)Craftsmanship: I was really impressed by the attention to detail in their work. They moved the plumbing in the bathroom to the exact requirements and changed the supporting valves and fixtures I’d missed without asking. The tiles in my shower were laid beautifully, straight, and level. RD even noticed a chipped tile and it so offended his standards that he had it ripped out and replaced.Problem-solving: It’s a old house in the Northwest, so naturally we found water damage in one of the bathroom, from a 50-year old window. It had rotted part of the outer wall and even some structural beams. I was ready to have a heart attack, but they nonchalantly made it good as new, window and all. They charged me time and materials, and their rates are very fair for the top quality work they do. I also managed to mismeasure the kitchen layout somehow, and they heroically moved a beam 4 inches to accommodate the cabinets. That was my mistake and I deserved to pay for it. I’m just glad I had an honest contractor.

Renovate Construction was fair with their cost, giving us three different options to chose from in terms of cost and options for our porch remodel-and they did not push any particular option or try to upsell. Once we decided on an option, they were quick to schedule, and diligent in their work, even returning on the weekend when there was a hiccup with materials. I would definitely recommend Renovate Construction, and will be contacting them for our projects in the future!

Renovate Construction, under RDs watch: replaced broken abesto siding, added flashings to all windows, built a new deck AND waterproofed and insulated a water leak issue from the exterior wall (even added a gutter to make sure we’re intact before snowmageddon hit and this was not even in our original quote but absolutely the right thing to do!). RD and his crew went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure end services were completely satisfied with a follow-up call. After the project ended, we discovered an issue and gave RD a ring, he immediately came by the next morning to help take a look. It’s rare to find contractors that don’t just disappear as soon as they’re done with a job. I respect and really appreciate working with RD who was always willing to educate and explain the approach to the project which gave us a higher level of confidence on the quality of the work. Additionally, clear timelines were communicated and progress was consistently photographed and shared! Would definitely work with RD / Renovate again.
