My daughter just moved in one week ago, and her experience has been terrible. On the first day, wifi was not working. The security is too lax and even non existent. There have been homeless people in the lobby and the trash room very often. The manager only asked my daughter to call the police. The did not take any action or try to fix the problems. At night there is stranger wanting to break into my daughter’s studio. This is outrageous and dangerous!

Management team never respond to requestsAs a residence in Nora, the only time the management team will notice you is during the renew season. My payment account was mistakenly closed by their accounting department and my security deposit has gone without any notice. I found out this when I tried to move out and the management team were making numerous excuses and avoiding the responsibilities. It is just so hard for the management team to respond and I don’t know if I can get my money back. The gift cards they offered when you signed the contract never reach either. There are a lot of other apartments with better management team in the u district.(1st Update 08/12/2021)Haha, finally they reply to me(below this review). I guess it has to happen to where everybody can see. It has been a week since I told them the situation, and nothing has been processed yet. I will update simultaneously to see if I can actually get my money back. Any potential residents can also use my experience as reference to understand how HELPFUL AND EFFICIENT the Nora management team are.

Move in without the refrigerator, wifi, and cable working. Gave no instruction on how to set up wifi and cable. I had to personally navigate through the problem. Still no do not have cable and a working refrigerator. Extremely unprofessional experience here. The washer is broke too. For a person extremely familiar with the leasing process and finding an apartment, this is the worst place to ever consider. Do not recommend! Too many inconvenience and consistent problems.

On day of move-in and the time leading up to me signing my lease I found the staff to be very engaging with me and making sure I was taken care of, looking back I think thats only because I was in the process of signing with them and my dad was there. Ive seen homeless people in the garbage room and looking through packages in the lobby, no out-of-office numbers to call if you have an emergency with the building or an incident is occurring, expected to call the police for everything, if there are concerns within the community those usually dont get addressed past one message, calling the office is very hit or miss no matter time of day I have found. There are times the staff are very helpful and other times where Im speechless with what is going on. P.S. dont live in either or the NORA buildings for 2021-2022, there is construction directly across from Nora west that wont be done until 2022 and they start at 6am.

AVOID THIS APARTMENT!!! I paid an application fee of $35 and also they required me to pay $100 a bed fee with the application. And then after I have submitted my application. I have emailed them and A staff member replied to a couple of my questions. After that I emailed her again to answer more questions because I don’t want to sign something straight away without knowing what I have to do and what I have to pay upon moving in. Apparently, she didn’t like answering questions a lot even after me paying an application fee and a bed fee and actually interested in leasing with them!!!So I went to the website later and found out that the apartment THAT I HAVE APPLIED FOR and PAID MONEY FOR was up again for rent in the website without answering my emails!!!!! After seeing this I have sent her an email saying that I’m not interested anymore because of what happened and also of the negative reviews on Google maps and I need My refund of $100 bed fee, because I haven’t even signed the The lease. I will probably never get a reply back or even my money!!In short, they basically ripped me off!!!By far the worst management ever!!!!

I was very disappointed by management at this apartment. When I first moved in the apartment was not cleaned at all and there were belongings left behind from the previous tenant. I also had to wait weeks to get anything fixed, which was especially inconvenient when they were appliances. It took weeks to get my washer/dryer fixed. The lock on my door broke numerous times, and the staff was not apologetic about it, even when I told them I had not felt safe sleeping at my apartment without a lock (considering the building has been broken into in the past). I was without a screen door for 10 months while living there, and constantly woke up with bug bites or had to sleep in a super hot apartment. I had called numerous times about it and the manager was very unapologetic and rude. I had to stay with friends multiple times due to the lock not working and when it was too hot to sleep without the window open. I had told this to the manager as well and said it was not fair to pay rent for an apartment that I could not stay at, yet nothing was done. The apartment itself is okay, although I feel like you could get a lot more for your money, especially when they really push the rooftop communal space even though the tv and fireplace on the rooftop was working and the garbage is rarely emptied and made the roof unbearably smelly. They also incentivize good reviews with gift cards and other items, making the rating skewed.

(Inquiry review only)I was looking into getting a unit at NORA and although I ultimately chose somewhere closer to my job, Sarah at the leasing office was beyond helpful and incredibly kind - she called me even though her shift was ending just to discuss options, send pictures and forms over, as well as help me understand the application process. Awesome gal that I seriously appreciate!

I was looking into studios as housing and came upon Nora apartments. I went into their office and the employees were very welcoming. One of the workers gave me a tour and he was super informative and very nice. The experience was memorable and I would definitely choose to live here except it isn’t in my budget. I highly recommend living in Nora apartments though.

I lived here for two years with excellent experience. 10 min to my lab in UW campus and many restaurants in 3 min. My room is quiet in 7th floor and on the roof you have a great view of Seattle downtown. With all necessary furnitures inside, its convenient and peace of mind for students who dont want to treat with furnitures things. The management staffs are also kind and easy to communicate with.

Dont live here. You can find a better place and location with a better price than this one. Also, if you shop online, theres a 50% chance that your package will be stolen, and theres nothing you can do about it.

I will be a new resident this Fall at Nora. The staff has been extremely helpful with guiding me throughout the leasing process. My interactions with Alexandra have always been great. I can really tell that the staff really cares about their residents, and I am extremely happy to be part of this community.

The staff here is fantastic! Im a little nervous to be moving here because Im from out of state, but the new manager already helped me feel right at home. I initially toured here because its so close to campus... I had no idea how nice it is!! Also the rooftop view is unbeatable!! Im so excited and blessed to be moving to a place as beautiful as this.

NORA Apartments is my absolute favorite apartment complex. The staff is so friendly and ALWAYS wants to help and they always go the extra mile to do whatever it is that I, or anyone else, needs. I also love the maintenance crew, they’re so friendly and always fixes anything that needs fixing in my apartment the day I request it or the the day after.

The faculties are welcoming and the apartment is not overpriced compared to the surrounding apartments on the Ave.However, the management after moved in is not so satisfying. Throughout the handbook, there is not even specified instruction indicating the trash room, which led to a huge mess in the lounge area —stacks of kitchen wastes for 4 days. It is unacceptable since there is also faculty living in this building(no one ever seen it before I complain about it?)Also, services don’t care whether you told them to notify their coming to you ahead of time. They basically come into your room without any messages. (And the service is way later than what the office faculty told me to expect)

I recently signed a lease for my daughter at Nora apartments. The leasing office team was incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The apartments are modern and clean with terrific amenities and most importantly, they feel safe.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these apartments to parents looking for a place for their UW students.

My interaction with NORA/NOLAN has been nothing if not amazing. The leasing manager and everyone Ive interacted with has been super polite, low-pressure, and empathetic. Even the few instances wherein I saw them interacting with residents were really polite and positive. As for the units themselves- theyre pretty amazing for whats being asked- theyre bright, spacious, and really modern. Fully furnished apartments that are 1.5-2.0x the size of what HFS is offering at nearly the same price at a stones throw from campus; honestly- amongst the 20 or so competing apartments Ive seen around, if youre looking for no-fuss apartment living similar to the dorms but without actually living within the dorms- go with NORA, you wont regret it.

Ive never write a review before, but Ive decide to write one and give an honest, sincere review for this apartment because I dont think they are treating the people in with respect and privacy. Please, if you have a choice, NEVER choose to sign your contract with this apartment. They conduct regular inspection enter your room without getting your permit and charge you for whatever they think is wrong. I dont feel respected and my personal space had been invaded for couple of times in the past. Ive lost money in the studio they are preying on your private life.

The staff is not friendly enough. I signed a sublease with the previous tenant. I found the place super messed up(patio was a trash yard)and broken furniture I asked the maintenance staff to get it fixed and he promised to fix the furniture within 3 days its been four months nothing has changed no support while the rent is ridiculously high. Moreover, I have few things missing from my apartment mainly 2 expensive watches. I wouldnt be right to totally blame it on the staff but it is still a possibility.Never ever think of living in this apartment.

Where to start:Ive been here for a year, and while it hasnt been total trash, I cant really recommend living here.PROS:1. Theres only one bill! Theres a real archaic website standing between you and paying that bill, but its there, so props to bring convenient.2. Its really close to campus, closer than some of the residence halls. Ten minutes gets you to most major places on campus. Cool!3. Its new...ish, for what thats worth to you, but more on that later.4. It has (almost) everything youll need! Living in a studio, theres a comfy Murphy bed, a TV, a little fridge, microwave, and little hot plate. Youll have to be creative if you want more storage or doing any real cooking, but otherwise youre set. Nice!CONS:1. Price gouging! Whatever youre paying, its too much for the broom closet youll be receiving. Apparently theyre charging $1500 for my room now, $300+ than what Im paying now. They also have a habit for charging randomly for things. Ive been charged $150 for smoking fees, twice, without ever even touching a cigarette, much less in my room. Its like magic! I was told Id get refunded, but Im still waiting. The management also charged a full month when I was only able to occupy my room for 5 days before being charged for the following month. Any other rational leasing agreement would prorate the cost.2. If somethings broken, they wont fix it! There was a period of time when the front lock wasnt locking. Literally anyone could walk in and hang out in the building without a key. A number of homeless people did during the colder months. Luckily, the door was fixed after about 3 or 4 months. There was a similar issue with the elevator, but that only took about one month.3. Its kinda gross! This is more the fault of the community, but lots of people dont seem to like to take the trash out, or take the trash to the trash room. Apparently the best trash room is the hallway, or the elevator, or the stairwell. Food scraps, cigarette butts, boxes, you name it: itll be where it probably shouldnt be.4. It wasnt made very well! While your experience may very, the hasty 11-month construction shows. The misaligned wood tiles, loose sink. Walls are also super thin, so dont expect much privacy. Also, if own a vehicle other than a bike, theres no parking for it, so youll have to find s place for your car on the street or make other arrangements elsewhere.I cant stress the price thing enough. Things everywhere are getting really expensive, but there are significantly cheaper options for a similar, if not better, living experience. Even if money isnt an issue, Im sure youd rather put that money youre saving into the life youre enjoying living anywhere but here.

I have lived here for years. They recently reduced their rent, yet still it is ridiculously expensive. Aside from it, recently an (now a former) assistant property manager executed quarterly inspection and got caught stealing money from residents. After the incident, the rest of management team seems irresponsible to cope with problems that residents have repeating they cannot give further information other than it is an isolated incident.
