My son has been at the facility for a little less than a year and his mother and I are very happy with our experience. This is our second ABA therapy facility so we knew a good bit about what to expect. This place has far exceeded our expectations in several ways. My son has had a consistent BCBA who really seems to care and follow through when we ask her for information. She treats our son like she would her own and she makes us feel like his care is one of her top priorities. My wife also knows and loves his direct RBT therapists and says they are the most professional and competent therapists he has worked with. We never have problems with staffing, therapist call outs, or meeting with our sons BCBA like we did at our previous facility. The quality of care that our family receives is definitely a step above and we are very happy to recommend them to other families.
I have worked at Scottsdale PBS well over a year and I just wanted to let people know this is a really good company with good people working for it. They have continued to make improvements for the employees with more training, PTO, bringing in more BCBAs, and bonuses for the RBTs. I have seen some reviews from disgruntled employees that did not really match my experience with the company at all. I have had mostly positive experiences with all of the employees here. I think this company is better than any other I have worked at before and it seems like the owner wants to keep making it better. I would definitely recommend bringing your kids here or working here if you want to be around good people.
Fantastic place to work! I’ve been with SPBS for almost three years and happy to say that this is not my job, it’s my career and my passion! Dr. Jacob is constantly providing me with new opportunities to increase my knowledge and stay on the up and up of ever changing billing and coding requirements. My hard work is always appreciated and a mutual trust has been built between myself and the company. Dr. Jacob is always looking for new and better ways to run the company ensuring the highest standards are exceeded for his patients. This may appear to some as a high turnover, when in reality it shows that Dr Jacob expects the highest quality of care in his practice. On a personal note, I have a daughter on the spectrum and he’s always been helpful and quick to answer any questions I have and give advice to help my child (who is not a patient) be successful...because that’s how much he cares. Kudos to a great company providing a GREAT service!
I’m the former, Director of Speech Therapy at this facility. I started the speech therapy program, thinking behavioral services and speech could mesh. This is my third clinic experience and BY FAR the least professional, ethical, and fair of them all. You will be promised the world and then tossed to the side because; your thoughts are different than ABA, you’re standing up for something/someone, you called out due to health or family issues. Of his 60 employees, only 10 earns PTO. The turn over rate is out of hand, including doctors. There is absolutely no HR team, and everything is handled by two arrogant men, who neither performs therapy directly, or moves from the admin building. They do not allow others to accompany you into a meeting and will strategically separate the two of you and meet 1:1 with each. They have two cameras in the speech room that they will not give you access to, even for parent/student learning purposes. But he will let it be known the cameras can zoom in close enough to read your text messages on your phone. When I started billing, it was the first time the coder had ever seen SLP codes yet alone bill them correctly. My bonus criteria changed every single time I achieved it. You could say that was just a hook and sinker to get someone to take the job. When I requested for materials in order to treat all domains speech therapy encompasses. I was consistently remind how expensive I was to the company, how much room I took up- in every.single.meeting. In addition to the never ending negativity- the tension is felt across the entire company. It’s a brutal place to work for several reasons. There is zero buy in for speech therapy- except for the behavior technicians who would attend sessions. However, the techs are then FIRED upon using SLP strategies to do echoics, feeding, etc. rather than listening to the BCBA supervisor pushing ABA therapy. The reasoning is black and white on the termination paper. When I spoke out about disagreeing with their reasoning to terminate, I was aggressively alerted to come to the administrative building with all my technology. Mind you- I have a SLP student with me through the beginning of this week- who felt so much tension against speech in the three days she was there, and witnessed myself being told if I didn’t come to their office to be formally terminated, that they would have the police contacted and have me forcibly removed!! While I was packing up thousands of dollars of my own personal materials that I had been using..Also- This is my THIRD time posting this review as he keeps paying to delete it. Also please notice that Kaitlin Woodward was paid to come on here and give a positive review. Just like all the other positive reviews are FAKE. She doesnt step foot in the office- and the turnover rate is because the place is horribly ran, and the CEO will hire and move people across the country just to target them, and fire them within weeks. Absolutely worst company to work for! Save your sanity!
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HERE!Hi everyone. Im a previous therapist from SPBS. Im just wanting to post this to prove just how terrible, unprofessional, and unethical this place is to all the parents possibly even considering sending their kids here! DONT! Since Ive built rapport with all clients/parents there- their kids stuck with me with speech therapy. Im not even employed by them and they continue to attempt to purposefully interfere with the therapy i provide to their kids. This is solely speaking of the BCBA Melissa, in addition to Dr. Jacob and Ryan. I actually pity every single child there, and parents, who are being blindly being convinced that their kid is cared about, and getting the services they need.Knowing that this is because of how my employment ended here- I know this is singling me out, doing a disservice for our shared kiddos, and just being PETTY. But beyond that, they are being UNETHICAL it is NOT their job to determine if kids will get services on site or not. Below youll see pictures of me, after a month of dealing with no shows, or a child showing up 15 minutes late done with his lunch when its a feeding therapy session. Here are the correspondences which are just out of this world ridiculous.Honestly such a disgrace to the therapy world. They are not in it for the right reasons. They are unethical, unprofessional, and unqualified to be in positions they are in. Highly recommended home school, or no school, over going there.
Such a great school, they care so much about the students and the staff is always very responsive.
This facility has been such a blessing. My son is truly thriving here. The best part is that he absolutely LOVES going. He’s so happy to work with the techs and teachers and in just a short few months his progress is unbelievable. I am beyond thankful for this place. ❤️
This place has certainly been such a blessing. My child had horrible social anxiety and would not participate in anything that did not include my husband or myself. In just a few short months he is an entirely different child. He has flourished and exceeded my expectations for any child at this age; let alone a child with social anxiety. My child can now read, write and spell. He has become a social butterfly and asked to come back or stay longer. This facility is beautiful! It has incredible, well thought-out and intentional bonuses. The glass walls and one-way glass pieces within the rooms add a transparent and bright energy. Dr. Boney and his team of three other Doctors have been the best support system; offering up their expertise, time and attention to not only my child but my husband and myself. The staff genuinely seems so happy, and you can tell that they have all been thoroughly trained. I am so grateful that I was referred here!
I worked at SPBS for a little less than a year. During my time there, I saw many problems and was disgusted with the way management handled things. The techs at SPBS are friendly and good at their jobs, however, most kids regress because the BCBAs do not exceed at their job. There was no HR when I was working there, so when I had concerns about a hostile workplace, there was no procedure or policy they had to follow. Instead, following my report of a hostile workplace to the CEO, I was then put under intense observation and was no longer taken seriously, even though before my report, I was highly involved in programming of my clients. At one point while working at SPBS, the receptionists were told to write down how often and for how long techs were taking bathroom breaks. When management was asked about this invasion of privacy and blatant disrespect to the techs, management simply blamed the receptionists and claimed there was a miscommunication, but the receptionists were told to continue to take down times when we went to the restroom. When speaking to my male supervisor, he asked me to ride in his car with him to a clients house, I had to tell him four times that I was not comfortable riding with him. I had to eventually tell a different supervisor that I was uncomfortable with how many times he asked me to drive with him.The kids at SPBS do not get the attention they need or deserve from the BCBAs. All of the BCBAs have an office that is in a different building than the clinic. This means that if there are problem behaviors happening, the clinician is not on site to advise or oversee. They have to be contacted and walk across the parking lot to get to the clinic building. The clients do not get the attention from a BCBA because the BCBAs do not spend time with the students. The client program books are never updated, in fact, at one point it had been almost a year since one of my clients at SPBS had their program book updated. Programs that the clients are not improving on, get put on hold and never returned to. Clients are missing the basic skills to learn programs and the BCBAs are not fulfilling their job as to put the client first and to make sure that the programs are being ran and ran correctly.
SCI & SPBS have been wonderful for both of my children’s growth & development over the past 18 months. I wanted to ensure they would have the opportunity to grow and develop in preparation for kindergarten in a nurturing & professional environment with well-trained, caring teachers & therapists.I was surprised to see one bad review of SCI but upon further investigation it appears that person leaves only 1-Star scores of all places she reviews online. Our experience has been immensely positive, with the owner, directors & staff always very responsive to questions or concerns. While one of my children will be leaving the school to attend kindergarten this August, he will continue with therapy & my other son will continue at SCI/SPBS for preschool & therapy
This place is a joke. Unfortunately, my experience was horrible. Dr. Jacob was very unprofessional and rude. Didnt care about my childs best interest and has no experience in communication. The amount of money being paid here does not make a difference in the quality of service you would recieve from DDD.
Great place for you kids....
