Great experience at the ranch. Had a wonderful time with the horses and other animals. Met the staff full knowledgeable and kind people ready to assist or provide that extra bit of information. Met Amy and Eva and they are magnificent people.

We had an incredible experience here as first time riders. The cowboys here were funny, calming and we felt completely safe with them the whole time. The nicest people youve ever met! We rode through the desert at sunset. The weather was perfect. We also saw some coyotes along the way. Thank you MacDonalds Ranch! We will be back.

Just went for the First time Horseback riding and I cant think of any other place to have this experience.What to expect ? Just nice people all around. From the time that you make your payment witch is not cheap but totally worth it ( 2 adults and 2 kids) $270 plus tips till the end of the tour. We had the 6 30pm ride and the sunset was just out of this world. MIKE our cowboy (tour guy) was exceptional, stories after stories from plants, animals to what the locals did in the erea and still doing it. Awesome ....Please make sure you tip them, card when you buy the tour or cash at the end. We did both this whole experience was that good.

We had a great time on the moonlight nighttime trail ride! It was a small group - only 3 riders - and the horses were amiable. The ranch itself is pretty large for sitting just outside of town! We got to see some wildlife before the sun went down. Overall, very enjoyable experience! Would definitely go back for a daytime ride.

I used to ride at the Ranch when I was just a kid. Now 30 years later I go visit a couple of times a year and bring family and friends to experience this amazing place with me. You make memories that last a lifetime. The views you see along your ride are amazing and the people that run the Ranch are so kind and knowledgeable.... I assure you that you will have a wonderful time and you will probably learn a thing or two while you are there. The wranglers that guide the trail rides talk about the Ranch, the livestock there, the wildlife, the plants and so much more.

Such a magical pumpkin patch with fair style food options and plenty of picture opportunities and a variety of kid driven activities. The petting zoo is amazing too. My granddaughter loved it. Great staff, friendly, and plenty of sanitizing stations. I recommend this place highly.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on a trail ride with my daughter and mother in law. My 6 year old had never been on a horse and the guides were patient and kind when she got scared. The trail was easy but not boring and the guides gave just enough local trivia and anecdotes while letting us enjoy the ride. We will come back for sure!

We needed a little outing for Saturday and this was a perfect stop! Its all open air, and there is no charge to enter. You can take a horse ride where only tip is requested but not mandatory, BUT DO TIP! We had a great kid who was a volunteer walk my daughter around on a horse and was so nice and conversational. (He was from Buckeye I forgot his name but he volunteered during winter break and I thought he was great!)They are offering longer horse rides you can pay for but otherwise walking around you see horses everywhere and there is a petting zoo. The petting zoo is goats mostly but one just had two babies! (Pictured) Come support this great place in the off season, and if you havent gone for the pumpkin patch, make it a plan for October!

THis was the first time we have been here, our daughter wanted all of us to get together and do this Halloween ghost town. It was fun for our grandson and we enjoyed walking around watching him play the games and go through their maze and petting zoo. If you have small kids this is a great time to have with them.

If youre looking for a petting zoo and guided horse rides - folded into a stage set of the old west, its a must see. The goats and horses alone make it worthwhile. And.... Theres usually art exhibits right next door to boot.

MacDonald’s Ranch is a place to build memories. They care about what they do, their animals and their guests, provide a tremendous value for the experience and they make you and your family (especially little kids) feel safe and welcome. We’ve been to aquariums, zoos, safaris, museums and so much more but I’m pretty sure this place will be top of our list next time we’re in Scottsdale! Thank you for the memories!

We have been going here for years! The pony rides before the kids turn 6 then the longer rides once they are 6. They love it! Free petting zoo is great too! The people are super friendly... everyone! Bryan was super helpful on our rides, offering to snap some pics for us... he captured some fun memories. Highly recommend this place.

My six year old daughter had so much fun!!!!! Some things were closed due to covid, but we still spent four hours here! Really friendly staff too!!

This was by far the best ride I’ve been on! The horses were very well behaved and well taken care of. They seems really really healthy. Additionally, Kevin was the best wrangler because he was so friendly and kind! He made the experience that much better! It was so much fun I would definitely go again!!

Cutest Ranch in North Valley. They also take your photo and try to sell it to you for $10. I said I didnt want it but they gave it to me for free anyway! We brought my UK coworker here for a fun little giddy up and he had a blast on a horse for the first time! Lots of other wildlife as well. Saw a couple coyotes. Tour guides were knowledgeable and dressed the part!👍🏿

My husband and I scheduled a private ride this morning and we had an absolute blast. Our guide, Bryan, was probably the best guide weve ever had for a guided horse ride to date. He was not only patient and understanding of our levels of comfort on horseback, but extremely knowledgeable about the fauna and flora we rode through - telling us about desert lavender, Creosote, and more. I highly recommend a visit to Macdonalds Ranch, especially if you love animals. They took obvious wonderful care of their animals and Ill definitely go back when I visit Scottsdale. I can only hope to score a ride with Bryan at the helm again, he was a hoot!!

We met some folks that worked at the ranch at dinner one night during our trip. They invited us to come out and ride at the ranch. We met up with them for a sunset ride through the desert on a private tour. It was spectacular, peaceful, and informative. We left there feeling like we made friends for life. My husband and I had a fantastic time riding Lil’ Bit and Lil’ Sis through the trails with Jared. Jared was so accommodating, helpful and friendly since it was our first time on a horse. He has grown up on the ranch so he educated us on the ranch, the animals and also the city of Scottsdale/Phoenix. I highly recommend this activity! They even had an adorable petting zoo where we saw goats and baby pigs. Thank you Macdonald’s Ranch! We had an unforgettable time!

Kevin/Pevin was such a great guide on the ride. He was so funny and just so kind. 10/10 would recommend going to this ranch. There’s also a petting zoo there. It was pretty cool. The staff was so nice and very helpful. The horses were very well taken care of and were very well behaved.

This was such a fun activity to do while visiting Scottsdale/Phoenix. Jared was our guide and he was wonderful - friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. The ranch was a near experience and the horses were beautiful.

Awesome place for kids! The staff here are so good with kids, and the animals are very docile. The horses and goats are great, and they have a great toy area for the kids to play in. I would definitely recommend to everyone that loves animals, or has kids that love animals 🐎

This place was amazing, my family of 4 had a wonderful time. My kids are ages 6 and 9 and begging to go back. The horses were all calm and well trained and our guides Eva and Brian were great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

We had a fantastic time on a semi-private ride through the desert. We saw all sorts of cacti, desert animals, and other flora. Our guide was very nice and expertly trained in managing horses.

My family has f 4 came here for horseback riding and it did not disappoint. The scenery was beautiful, horses were calm and friendly. My 6 year old and 12 year old couldn’t stop talking about it.

One of my families favorite places to visit almost anywhere out west. These guys know what they were are doing and it makes sense.We went on an amazing hour trail ride for my sons 5th birthday (free ride on bday). My 6yr old son, 5 yr old son and my beautiful wife. I got to ride Big John who seemed a bit frisky lol. I always seem to get that horse on these trail rides. What a lovely scene to walk through the Sonora desert on horseback..Horses were well trained and gentle. The boys rode ponys.. this was all of their first ride in the desert.Trail tourguys (cowboys/girls) knew what they were doing and were not afraid to assert some pressure if and when needed. They really make you feel safe..O.. I have to note.. I called them at 250 and asked if they had something for 4... they said we will leave at 4night you get here by 330. Thankyou so much for making room for our family it was a very relaxing ride.Next day we came back for the free petting zoo. Checkin on the goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks. Mini horses, sheep.. they also have a neat little western walk through, allowing you to try your turn roping a steer. Great place super friendly people. Hidden gem!!

One of the last places in Scottsdale for a nice horseback ride or western experience. Great desert trails that are not cluttered with developement.

Really cool farm your kids can ride a pony for a donation since everyone is a volunteer there. They have horses you can ride in a trail for 6yrs and older you have to call them for times. They have a petting zoo with mini horse, sheep, goats and pigs. I recommend this farm I will definitely take my kids there again.

The cleanliness is overwhelming. The staff is very pleasant and courteous. The outside lighting is bright at night. The parking is open. The front door is easy access. They have clean restrooms. Would definitely recommend this to everyone. Sometimes they have great specials.Clean and safe.

We attended the annual pumpkin patch/fall festival at MacDonalds Ranch and loved it! My kids really enjoyed the hay ride that takes you to the pumpkin patch and of course the guided horse rides. They had lots of free games and activities (mostly geared towards the younger kids) and some that had to be paid for but everything was pretty affordable. Definitely wear closed toed shoes!

Very welcoming and nice staff. Also, they have a clean facility. Jared took two of us on an extravagant, beautiful trail ride. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, informative, experienced, helpful, etc. Highly recommend riding the one hour trail ride. Partner was a great horse to ride as well.

We had a great experience. The staff was kind and helpful, their is so much to do on site. My kids love the little petting zoo and games around the farm. We did a little birthday celebration there and it was perfect.

Its a cute place to visit with the family. My daughter and I went with my parents and we had a great time. We visited during October, so they had a pumpkin patch set up. We also panned for gold The only thing is that it is very dusty. I hadnt done any research before our trip, because it was my mothers idea. I heard pumpkin patch and agreed lol. So I wasnt dressed to get dirty. You want to wear tennis shoes and clothes that can get dirty because nearly the entire place is outside and it is a lot of walking on dirt. There is a cute petting zoo area with pigs and goats. It was fun. You should definitely bring some bottle of water, too.

The horseback riding was fun. Im not sure Id pay full price ($96 for two) but if you have a coupon/gift certificate it was worth it.

Took the 1 hour trail ride. First time here with wife. Had a nice ride on a beautiful day. The location was close to our Old Town Scottsdale hotel, and the staff were great. Nice trail with alot of cactus, with our guide answering everyones questions. Cost was worth the ride also. Horses are tame. If you are a beginner, this is a great place for you and the family to try it out.

Such a fun place, did my daughters birthday there and everyone from Kelcie in the office to the wranglers for our trail ride Bryan and Kyle to the gentleman who got our birthday site ready for the next group made us feel welcome, special, and were just so friendly! So much history there and so much fun.

We did the sunset horse ride and it was great.Manageable for beginners and kids 6+.Local guides were informative and the ride was just the right length.Warm clothes are essential in winter.

We just got home from a private ride with Lexi as our guide. She was great, as was the whole staff. We will definitely be back for another ride soon and will be requesting Lexi. She filled us in on all sorts of great desert info along our ride and the kids loved her ranch jokes. The pumpkin patch was super cute, too! Highly recommend! We will be back!

Free to enter, pony rides for tips, free petting area, lots of room for kids to have fun, perfect for ages 3-10. They do have hayrides, trail rides for schedule and fee, we didnt need that though. Seems like a fun venue for an event

We had a great time on the guided tour at MacDonalds ranch. Our tour guide Bryan was really knowledgeable and made it a fun ride! I would recommend anyone in the Scottsdale area to check them out. They are beginner friendly.

Besides the horse rides, they have a playground for kids, animals that you can feed (bring your own vegetales), space to lunch there, restrooms,...Animals you will find: donkeys, chicken, pork, goats,...Our kids loved it.

McDonalds ranch is a wonderful place to go with young kids in cooler weather, but not during a pandemic. We were excited to take our kids outdoors to see the pumpkin patch, but many of the activities are in close quarters. What makes it worse is that more than 70% of guests (and even some staff) dont wear masks because mask wearing is optional. We went because we thought most guests would wear masks or at least social distance from others, but we were wrong and cut our visit short. Would love to come back when its safer, but I wouldnt recommend going at this time. That being said, the cashier was so pleasant and friendly!

I got charged $30 for 2 adults and a 2 year old so that sucks but other than that everyone was very nice. Got to pet some goats and a pony and my kid liked the sand they had. Lots of cute little backgrounds for pictures.

Always a good time, nice staff and fresh air. I have been going there since I was a child and now I take my kids. Lots of activities and seasonal fun too. Keep the last little bit of western in town going, support them and the animals.

For the past two years weve went for the pumpkin patch and absolutely loved it... If you go right when the Sun is setting it is one of the most beautiful sunsets you can see among the cactus and horses and things like that... Definitely an awesome family friendly place.

Pretty nice. The employees were fantastic and our kids loved the pony rides. We were bummed about the stuff that had been cancelled due to covid,but its understandable. We found good pumpkins and will probably go again next year in hopes that face painting and hay rides are safe to do.

Hayride and a bonfire....how relaxing can an evening be....Thanks to what MacDonalds Ranch has to offer, I got to experience it. Walk around the old west scenery, rope a steer, makes want to talk with a southern draw and mosey over to the corral.. taking a hayride through the desert and watching the sun set was beautiful
