Never take your pet here. My 3 year old great dane was hit by a car near our house and we took him here for an emergency and they cared more about money than my dogs well being.

I took my cat in on Sunday and they released him saying he was fine and it was probably just emotional stress. They said to keep an eye on him for 24 hours. I took him to Vet Med for a 2nd opinion and he had late stage heart and kidney disease. He passed away on Tuesday. I wish Blue Pearl wouldve done a more thorough check. The cat was not okay, he barely had the strength to walk. I will miss him dearly.

I needed after hours care for my dog and BluePearl had a much shorter wait than other centers in the area. I decided the extra drive would be worth it. We arrived and were checked in within a few minutes. We settled in for an estimated 2 hour wait, but got a call within 30 minutes from the vet with a diagnosis and treatment plan. Medications were filled and we were out of there within 90 minutes of arriving. The vet and staff were professional and pleasant. A great experience.

BluePearl Animal Hospital was Fabulous place. Back in March my dog got attacked by a coyote and Blue pearl were so kind and would let me know how my do was doing and once we brought her home they called us to let us know how my dog was doing. They are amazing I would recommend them to anyone I know. Thank you so much for all thank you did for my dog.

I had the best experience! Both the nurse and veterinarian were extremely professional! They didn’t talk about money at all they talked about the well-being of my dog. You cannot put a price on your pet. I am glad they are taking good care of my puppy!!!! Thank you, to the Vet. & staff.. You can’t put a price on making your animal better. THAT is priceless. Thank you guys for doing the job you’re doing and saving my little puppy! Regards, Lisa, Blu’s owner

Just moved to AZ, brought my Rottweiler in for a large gash in her leg. BluePearl was professional, friendly, and informative. Checked in around 6pm, she was getting stitches around 8pm, and home around midnight. Couldnt imagine a better experience. Highly recommend.

We are so happy!!🐶🐕🐾❤💖 Thanks so much to Dr. Sara Ford and the staff members at the Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ Dr. Sara Ford is the best, we came all the way from San Diego to see her because we just cant find a real specialist for our dear Brandy (doggie) who is diabetic with some complications due to it. The trip was well worth it we leave with a new treatment, very happy and even Brandy seemed to be happier and very calm when she left the hospital. When we say that Dr. Sara Ford is the best, is because she really, truly is, her Specialties: Diabetes Management, Endocrinology, Feline Medicine, Immunology, Medical Oncology..... weve seen 4 or 5 different vets in San Diego and Brandy was only getting worse. She even stopped walking and last evening Brandy started to walk!!! and shes moving almost like her normal self again. Thanks so much Dr. Ford and thank GOD because we also prayed so much the whole time Brandy was in her appointment.🥰🐶🐕🐾

The stars say it all... I waited 4 hours in the parking lot for my dog never to be seen by the vet. I was even placed on hold for several minutes to even get the status if my dog had been evaluated. I finally told them I no longer want their services and to bring my dog to me. I was told this was an emergency hospital and there were dogs in critical condition... But I went for what I believed was an emergency?... I paid for a toxicology screen and wasn’t even provided with the results. Overall just a horrible experience and a lack of empathy for my situation. I would definitely advise you to go to another hospital as this one won’t treat your pet if it’s in “stable” condition.

I am a little confused at all the negative comments. Most don’t even mention what the issue with their pet was just that false hope was given. I just want to quickly mention that veterinarians have to give you options even if one of those routes has VERY little positive outcome. I wasn’t there so idk the discussions that occurred and I’m not trying to say you weren’t told something but offering a low prognosis treatment isn’t false hope, it’s their job. They would much rather save every pet that walks through the door if they could.I was referred here by the emergency vet on Gilbert and Juniper because as a former vet tech I knew I needed an ultrasound for my dog Guster and they told me this was the place to go. It was Saturday night on 05/01 and I was told it would be a 4-5 hour wait to be seen which was much better than the 6-8 hours at Gilbert. And cheaper exam fee.We get there and they were pretty quick to bring him back. Guster has been slowly declining his food more and more over the past couple of weeks and looked pale from what I thought was his shallow breathing. His abdomen was also descended and looked be getting worse. A staff member (Samantha) came back stating he was in critical condition and was requiring a deposit to do tests which we of course did. Maybe 30 mins or less later Dr. furhman (sorry if spelling is incorrect) called and already had results. Guster had been bleeding into his abdomen from having masses all over his spleen. (Found by ultrasound) I immediately started crying because I knew what that meant. Cancer. No real hope. Of course she offered the surgery (it’s her job, remember) and we chose the other route. They all were very kind about everything. I had a couple of out of the ordinary requests and they did their absolute best to make it happen.(thanks Sam) The Dr. was very kind and compassionate. I could tell she felt our pain.We picked him up today and even the front staff who didn’t know us was empathetic to the situation. The only down fall to our entire experience was the wait time between telling the vet tech we were ready and the dr coming in. It didn’t look busy on the outside but I heard at least 3 different dogs howling from the room we were in so who knows how many were actually back there. We could visibly see him declining as we were waiting and were concerned he was in pain was the only issue.

The ER doctors and internal medicine specialists at BluePearl are absolutely phenomenal. When my cat started vomiting daily last year and nothing came up on her basic tests or exam, we went to see Dr. Ford at BluePearl. Ultimately, Abby was diagnosed with GI lymphoma and started on treatment, to which she responded amazingly. Two months later, my dog stopped eating and refused to eat anything I put in front of her more than once. After having a gamut of tests run which didnt show any abnormalities, she was ultimately diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. Her healing process hasnt been as smooth, but Dr. Ford, her house officers, and nurses have been behind us all the way, tweaking every little thing possible to try to get her feeling better. Last fall, my boyfriends cat lost a large amount of weight in a short period of time. She was also diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and has responded beautifully to the treatment.A few weeks ago, Abby became anorexic and lethargic. I took her to Dr. Ford, thinking her GI lymphoma was acting up. Unfortunately, Abby had developed pneumonia, anemia, and eventually fluid in her belly and lungs. Dr. Ford, the ER doctors, and all the nurses fought for her for a week to try to get her better. We had to euthanize Abby after a week due to worsening condition, and later we found out she had FIP, a fatal disease of cats. Even though we lost our sweet Abby, Im forever grateful to all the staff for taking the best care of her possible throughout her entire illness.Yes, this is an emergency and specialty hospital. Yes, the cost can be higher than youd want. However, you are paying for a 24/7 facility with specialists and capabilities that a human hospital provides, and youre paying just a fraction of the cost a human would pay and getting it done much quicker. Ill always recommend this hospital and their staff - thank you for all you do.

Excellent emergency care for our 8 month old Great Dane pup. Became lethargic and would not eat or drink. Took her in at midnight. Excellent care and follow through. They kept her overnight for IV fluids and antibiotics. She seems to be mending. Entire staff and the DMVs were excellent. Very pleased.

I was charged $2,600 to be told that I should go to another vet (cardiologist). They knew the problem was with my cats heart, they should have told me this before running thousands of dollars worth of unrelated tests. Not sure why they felt the need to check for so many other things when it was already clear that she is dying.

Yesterday my dachshund got an allergic reaction to her rabies shot at her primary vet. They were closed and Ive never dealt with allergies before and her face was incredibly swollen. I had called a few vets to see if bringing her in was necessary. I was advised to give her a small dose of benadryl and if it gets worse to bring her in to make sure the swelling doesnt block her airways. Yesterday 3 places I called were very busy but I was referred to BluePearl Pet Hospital. The staff was very quick to bring her in and was patient when I had to go home to grab my wallet cause I left the house so fast. I had to wait a tiny bit as a couple critical cases came in before Peggy was discharged. I told them take all the time they need Im just glad my pups okay. I got a call and they explained their treatments on Peggy and that the swelling should go down overnight and to keep giving her benadryl over the next couple days. This morning her face has gone down significantly and shes doing much better. Thank you guys for seeing her. I was probably extra panicky but im also thankful they gave me additional information in case this happens again in the future. They even called this morning to check in to make sure she was still doing okay. I am very pleased with the quality of service at this pet hospital.

If I could give this place a zero I would. NEVER EVER bring your pets to this hospital. Im not the one to write reviews but I cannot sit here and do nothing about it I need people to be AWARE and INFORMED about the fraud of this hospital. This hospital does NOT care about your pet whatsoever all they do is give you hope and rack up the bill. All they care about is money and how much they will charge you. We brought in our puppy on 7/22 and she stayed until 7/24 they conducted several tests on her and they kept advising for her to stay at their hospital another night just to be sure that she was going to be okay, we didnt care about the money so we agreed to leave her another night. Within those two days we called several times to check up on her and we were told every time that she was a healthy puppy, everything was completely fine it was a freak accident of course I am going to believe a professional so it gave us hope that our little puppy was going to be okay. They gave us a packet with information in regards to what tests they conducted on her but not once did they tell us she was a dying puppy that there was no hope for her. When we took her hope they couldnt even provide us with enough medication as stated on those bottles, we had to drive back several times asking for more as they couldnt even do the bare minimum. On 7/27 we took her to another vet because she did not look good when we brought her in the vet was shocked that we still had this puppy and started questioning us in regards to how could Blue Pearl have discharged such a sick puppy back home that there was no hope for this puppy to live a normal life and get better. The vet was curious what was told to us especially when you get charged 1.7k + for all the testing and so called help they did to our poor puppy. We were give false hope the entire time, we were lied to over and over again about the health status of this puppy. Now we have a massive bill to pay for a dog that is no longer with us. If only we could have been told the truth all this could have been avoided but hey money is more important to these people not the well being of animals. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU.

I can see how some of the other people on this thread came to their view points based on my experience but my experience was that they saved our beloved dogs life twice. I was told over two visits it was time to consider my options but Lucky had different plans. Hes still with us today and I soley attribute this to the kind and compassionate doctors and staff at Blue Pearl. We called literally every 3 hours all through the night. We were always given straight answers and while I cant conclusively say there is no money grabbing going on (which us laypeople experience with ALL vets to some degree) the care and skill of the people who work here (along with some help from God, for lack of a better word) saved our dogs life twice. Im also very sorry these other people had such sad experiences and results. Animals over people generally!!!

Would give 0 stars if possible. Do not take your pet to Dr. Ford at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Scottsdale. Gus, my amazing little 16 year old dog who was loved like a son, was doing just fine until his cardiologist started him on enalapril on 10/1. Within a couple of days, Gus started showing symptoms of kidney injury and enalapril was discontinued after 5.5 days on 10/7. His lab tests on 10/9 confirmed his kidneys were adversely affected by the treatment so I brought him to Dr. Ford on 10/14.I was so worried that Gus had kidney and/or liver failure. But at his first appointment, Dr. Ford diagnosed and treated Gus for a GI bleed (ulcers) and anemia, despite him having abnormal kidney and liver lab test results on 10/9 and 10/14, weight loss, lethargy, hind quarter weakness, and decreased appetite. All of which are symptoms of advanced kidney disease and kidney failure. She told me to come back in 2 weeks for a recheck.During those 2 weeks, I called and spoke to the internal medicine resident on 2 occasions about Gus’s continued and progressive vomiting, weakness, and lack of appetite. So after his condition worsened, on 10/27 Dr. Ford performed more lab tests and a chest X-ray and told me that Gus had a large mass near his heart and that was now the main concern and life limiting factor for him. She even recommended a chest ultrasound and biopsy so treatment could be started if the mass was cancerous. She gave me a worst case scenario statistic of 3-6 months for Gus to live without treatment if it was a progressive cancer. I told her I would not put Gus through cancer treatment at his advanced age and heart disease. At that appointment, I even asked Dr. Ford if Gus was dying and I should be considering euthanasia. She told me “No” and reassured me that she would be honest with me.Then on 11/2 after Gus’s health had declined even further and he was no longer eating or drinking and was so weak and dehydrated that he had trouble walking, Dr. Ford told me that he had “early kidney failure and should be euthanized within a few days.” That was the first time she said those words to me, “kidney failure.” And to add insult to injury, she called Gus by the wrong name (Max) several times while delivering that news and even had the wrong name in several places of her discharge report.Despite all the procedures and treatments that Dr. Ford performed and recommended (none of which were for his kidneys), Gus never improved and only got worse in that 3 week period. Maybe he would have died in 3-6 months from cancer or heart disease or kidney disease. But I would have had more time with him. Instead, Dr. Ford gave me false hope and no time to prepare for Gus’s tragic and unexpected death. I watched my baby decline each day to a point of suffering when I finally had to make the heart breaking decision to let him go to Heaven on 11/4.I am not a doctor but Dr. Ford is. And knowing what I know now, how did she not see from the start that Gus was experiencing kidney damage and he needed support in order to avoid going into kidney failure? At each appointment she just kept telling me to come back for more tests and procedures, never mentioning kidney damage or kidney treatment options. So either she is a terrible veterinarian and did not know all of this and/or a horrible human being for not telling me and continuing to recommend further poking and prodding to a sick elderly dog, I guess just to make money.I wish I knew then what I know now and I could go back in time and make different and better decisions for Gus. I trusted Dr. Ford with the precious life of my baby Gus, and now he’s dead. This horrible tragedy was avoidable and I’ll regret that for the rest of my life.

Very disappointed in the way this place conducts the way they mislead a pets owner. My dog was taken their today and was given a grim prognosis I expressed to the doctor how I wanted her to shoot it to me straight she then proceeded to give myself and my family false hope on the outcome after I specifically indicated to her that money was not an issue I just wanted our dog not to suffer and I didn’t want to pay thousands of dollars to keep our suffering dog alive for just a few more hours. She then told me that it is very possible that her condition could be treatable fully aware that she was giving us a false sense of hope therefore we paid the outrageous prices to keep our beloved star alive for a few more hours just long enough for them to rack up a $2,000 bill before she was in so much pain that she could not breathe. Not only do I have no respect for the way they play on emotions but they charge you ridiculous fees to do nothing to save your dog. I am a business owner in the valley and pride myself on being honest and straightforward to my customers this was not the case this evening. If you read this review please explore other options for your pets care as you will be very saddened by the outcome if you Intrust pearl to care for your sick loved one. Zero stars if I could and just based on what just happened I have to question the moral integrity of the doctors who staff this facility. I think I would be able to sleep better at night being a bank robber and a Menace to society then allow someone’s beloved dog to die but making sure their Visa card gets some action before they allow that to happen. Thanks for nothing but being dishonest and proving that your main priority is the proceeds not the well being of your 9 year olds dog. Thanks Dr. Davies you are a real stand up gal. Keep up your great work of over charging people and playing off their love for their pets. Appreciate your honesty and moral integrity.
