Not a good place to rent a car. I was thinking about going back. Untill after, I made my trip back I was charged for minor scratches on the tire, I was not aware of.Take a picture of the car yourself. Compare after. Read the fine print. Take your time.Customer service lady seemed to care at first, but after did not hesitate to say how much I was being charged. Am not surprised.I paid the charged without hesitation too and let her know the price was ridiculous.I am not thinking off going there, especially since my first experience not good and my mind has changed from being charged.

They do a soft credit check, even if there is a mishap with that, they find the best way to help. Vehicles are ALWAYS up to date ALWAYS clean inside and out. I rent cars from Savannah Car Rentals every week. The vehicle s at Savannah Car Rentals are efficient and clean. I also like the fact that Savannah Car Rentals deposit are not as high as other car rental places. The staff at this rental company is friendly and helpful. I tell any one if they want to rent a car go to Savannah Car Rentals because they are the best.

Easy pick up and drop off with kind and caring staff. We saved hundreds by going with them instead of an airport car rental company. All it takes is a quick $25 Uber ride to and from Savannah Car Rental/airport and you’re good to go! You’d be crazy to spend your money elsewhere if you need a car in Savannah.

Look at the BAD reviews.They seem cheaper but really consider paying the little extra at national chains.If you have little money then maybe try.Clueless to do credit check the day of reservation. Please do a soft credit check before you go there to try and get the car to travel. My credit is excellent. I unfroze my credit score but this may have caused the soft check to be denied. Several reviews make me not want to trust and try this business in the future. Seems like business could be more organized and prepared with better service. Not a good piece of mind. Pay just a little more and get a lot better somewhere else. Also, I reserved about 3 months ago. It was not on their records but I had an email confirmation. Luckily I checked on it about a month ago. When I found out they didn’t have any information about my reservations I reserved again. But the cluelessness about the soft credit check not being done sooner may leave you without a vehicle for an important trip you have. NO PIECE OF MIND I tell you. Dig deep in reviews and see. ALL negative reviews are about bad business and treating people wrong.

Horrible service, car they gave me didn’t start the day of having to depart. Instead of rectifying the situation by bringing us a car that work. They made us call the towing agency and do all the hassle. Needless to say our departure time of 6am became 11am making me miss not only a conference I was to present at but a family vacation I had planned with my wife. Not only did the replacement car smell like smoke even though it was an “upgrade” it had half full of gas. Very unapologetic brought the car back with less than maybe a few miles off what was originally in it told me I had to go fill it up. Which again I had finals (med student) tried explaining I was just trying to drop of the car quickly. Instead I got the response “well I can up charge you if it that big of deal” not only did they not accept fault they tried to tell me I didn’t know how to operate the car and elude to it was user error. They do not follow the policy the customer is always right. They are cheap because you get cheap service and incompetent employees. The only decent salesperson worth talking to was Gina the rest are just garbage and she isn’t even the boss. END OF STORY DON’T USE THEM THEY ARENT WORTH THE CHEAP PRICE

We had the absolute WORST small business experience with this company. We reserved a vehicle a month in advance (opting to book with a local business outside of the airport) for our Hilton Head vacation. We had a printed confirmation for the reservation that we brought with us and had also called a few days prior just to reconfirm that everything was set for our arrival and pick up.When our Lyft dropped us off at the Savannah location, we were told there was NO CAR available for us. They had reservations for over 30 vehicles that day, but only 18 cars available. We were three ladies from out of state stranded with luggage on the sidewalk and they refused to help us or resolve the issue in any way. As a small business owner myself, I was appalled that they would treat customers this way and not follow though on bookings.Thankfully, Enterprise (shout out to Tory!) on Abercorn Street came to our rescue. They upgraded us to an SUV, didnt charge for additional drivers and offered us an even better price than we would have paid at Savannah Car Rentals. They saved our trip and took such good care of us after they heard what we had been through!Savannah Car Company is one business where going small and local is NOT the way to go.

This place is very unorganized and I will never go there again. I made my Reservation over a month before my vacation, and they still did not have my van when we got there. What made it even worse was that one of there employees made the reservation for me. She said they would have us another van in 30 we waited over 1 and 1/2 the car they tried to give us was too small. So we just left with out the car so very disappointed. They also had trash over flowing from the trash can in front of there business and some was on the ground. Not one of the worker tried to clean it up.

My brother was nearing his final days after a long battle with cancer. I needed a car to get home to Michigan ASAP but they were all booked up. Kevin the savannah manager wrote my name down and was on the look out for the next available car at all 3 locations and even looked into getting a new car from the dealership to get me in a rental in a rental as quickly as possible. I had a car within 2hrs and was able to be home with my family when we needed it most. This was my second rental with them and if they didnt do great the first time this time insured I will be a customer for life because they care about their customers.

We have rented from there several times with less than stellar experiences. There were frequent problems but they always tried to do something to make up for their misses which included not cleaning the car between rentals during the height of Covid, renting a car that reeked of smoke, renting a car that the back window leaked and finding out they had it repaired multiple times but didnt verify it was fixed so all of our stuff got soaked, renting a car that vibrated terribly at 70mph, etc.. The last rental was the last straw.We typically rented mid size cars but for this rental we had to have a vehicle at least the size of a Murano because we were moving some things to our daughter in Atlanta. We planned well in advance and reserved the Murano on 5/31 for a 6/24 - 6/30 rental. The website clearly showed the Murano and thats what we rented. I drove from Pooler to Hinesville the morning of 6/24 to get the car. We needed to get to Atlanta that afternoon to meet the movers. When I arrived, I was informed they do not have Muranos and the lady did not think they had ever had Muranos at that location. She said they rent Rogues and consider Rogues the same as Muranos. Anyone who has ever driven both cars certainly know that isnt the case. I explained the situation and said a Rogue simply wont fit what we need to move. The lady was nice and said she would try to find something else but if she could, there would be an extra charge. She tried but was unable to find anything so I left. Here is a company that knowingly rented a car they did not have nor have ever had and couldnt / wouldnt do anything to make it right despite me sitting at a car lot full of cars. Seems fraudulent to me to advertise a car you knowingly dont have. So now I have wasted nearly 2 hours of the day and I have to scramble to figure out how to get my daughters items to Atlanta and ended up rescheduling the movers. Not a happy camper.As I understand it, this place is under Vaden Nissan and if so, I am guessing Jane Vaden Thatcher hasnt looked much into how this place operates because I dont believe she would like how she is represented.For those considering renting, the costs are generally less than you pay elsewhere. What you give up is your time (it usually takes 20 - 30 minutes each time to pick up and drop off a car, which includes them actually calling your insurance company while you are there to verify coverage), customer service (website with almost no capabilities, have to call for just about anything and they dont answer the phones so you leave a message and wait for a callback) and second class cars (they are okay but not to the level of the main rental car companies - not as clean, higher mileage and typically the gas tank isnt full when you get it, plus the issues I wrote about at the beginning). So, if you can deal with the hassle, waste of time, lower quality cars, the likelihood of some type of problem on every rental and the risk that they wont actually have the car you rented to save a few bucks, this might be the place for you. As for me, I am done.

So up in the air. Best to call in advance if a car is available or not, even with a reservation. I would have liked a courtesy call letting me know my reservation wasnt available.

After Hertz temporarily closed a location, in which they confirmed my reservation and did not notify me SAVANNAH CAR RENTAL SAVED THE DAY.! Hertz did not honor the reservation and stated they didn’t have any cars available.Savannah Car Rental was very friendly and accommodating!

Take your business elsewhere.We reserved a vehicle for 7 days to pick up at 13:30. The day of, we phoned to tell them we were a bit behind schedule. The employee told us there was no reservation in our name. We viewed the email reservation to be sure we phoned the correct co. & phoned once more. This time we told them the reservation number & they still told us there was no reservation. We insisted we had one & we were promptly passed to the owner or manager. He told us they did not hold reservations past 30 minutes. When I told him we did not have cell service to phone sooner & phoned as soon as we got service, he continued to argue with me. I told him we phoned at 13:47 (phone log) & he argued with me that we phoned at 13:54. He argued with me over a 7 minute difference. Either way, it was within 30 minutes of the reservation (the 30 minute time restriction is not mentioned on the phone nor in email, when booking.) He told me it was past the reservation & they rented the vehicle to someone else. He told me he had another vehicle we could rent for $590 something. I told him we were not bothered with the type of vehicle, we just wanted the reservation price of $278 honored. He told me he would not do it & proceeded to argue.This co wanted over double the price when we were 17 minutes late to phone them. They did not try to phone, nor did not email us. The funny thing is, I’d found a less expensive option to rent elsewhere when originally reserving, yet convinced my parents we should book with the slightly pricier local business to support local business owners. This is not a customer service based business & therefore, you might as well do the less expensive & more convenient option of big car rentals. At least they are reliable.

Was not satisfied I never when to a car rental were they run your credit ..I was depending on the car the wholeweek ..when I got were about to go out of town they claim I couldnt get it 😭😭Bad business..I think he wanted to give that car to someone else ..talks very nasty. Savannah Car Rentals was great! Yesterday evening, I had to put my car into the shop at the last minute and was looking for a rental for the night. It was around 4:30 in the afternoon and all of the major car rental places were about to close and did not have any rentals available at that time. After searching the web to see if any other places were still open, I came across Savannah Car Rentals and gave them a call. They were the only place to have anything available at that time. The renting process was quick and easy! The staff was very professional and friendly. I had rented a Nissan Rogue with very little miles on it. The vehicle was clean & drove excellent and the price was much less than what Ive paid before at other car rental companies for the same SUV. I would definitely recommend and will be back again for any future rentals!

This company is ridiculously too expensive for the cars they have. They also have a high deposit hold. The airport is much better if you dont mind the drive and they have all newer model cars. Sorry Savannah Car Rental, but you are just too high for the cars you offer.

Misleading as always promises to help or they do is make you get harder inquiries in your credit score. Than have the nerves to calling me today 08/25/2018 ask for more cash deposit money. When yesterday I was told you can take the car and bring 500.00 on Tuesday and wont have to pay until 45 days. No Dignity absolutely wont recommend this place to no one. I have knowledge on sales for a dealer few years ago. Where I learned how to sale making people feel good with the deal presented. Heres how this works they have a chart where gives you the value of the vehicle. So they go high you ask to work with you and get lower price. With this said, they still getting more of the cars value and the deposit you give is the salesman commission. Simple as that, before you fall into their hands do your research online or go to a couple of dealerships before making any purchases. Also be careful with what bank they get you invested on your money or youll end up with a ridiculous interest rate. I know for experience and for previously working for a dealership. Be good my Friends this is the truth and if it wasnt I would not have written it.....

I rent here regularly and they only way you dont get approved is if you dont have a license.Newest cars and they always have what you reserved or something better. Customer service is too nice and the service is fast.If you arent renting from here, you are not getting a good rental.

Ive rented 3 or 4 vehicles from Savannah Car Rental in past month...no smoking...no animals in car...I just rented a rogue on Saturday thru Thursday...appt was at 12...I got there a few minutes early and waited outside service center because girl was picking up lunch...there was a blue rogue sitting in service driveway and I asked service guy if was mine...he didnt know...I went inside 10 mins later the blue rogue was gone and girl was there...I sat down and did paperwork and then she pulled up blue rogue...walked around but had no damage and she said half a tank...was obvious the out side hadnt been cleaned and the when I got inside to drive off...it stunk and hadnt been cleaned either but I had no more time to sait...then when I dropped off...I get home to a message that they were keeping my 150 depisit because I didnt fill to half and I forgot to look but it wasnt much under half tank and that was dog hair in vehicle and in hatch! I NEVER had a dog in car and she said was in hatch which I opened when I got home and saw was never vacuumed but I never opened again!!Because they failed to inspect last customer...they charged me 150!! I will NEVER do business with them again and from now on...I get a rental...I will insist it be cleaned!! This was just WRONG and BAD BUSINESS!

Once I came to pick up the vehicle in my lunch hour and they were cleaning the car the I was going to use, they took a little longer than expected and offered me a free upgrade.
