Waterside Dental takes care of my entire family. Tracey our hygienist is caring and does an awesome job. The Dr is honest and does excellent work. The office staff are very nice and are always willing to help. The office is bright and cheery with plenty of parking. I highly recommend Waterside Dental!

I have not needed a crown for over 20 years, and never had a good experience getting one in the past. So, I was nervous to get a crown yesterday. Dr. Childers and his assistant were excellent. Even the Novocain shot did not hurt. Absolutely no pain, not uncomfortable, and the effects of the Novocain diminished quickly after the procedure. The temporary crown he installed is almost as good as a permanent. I just cannot say enough what a great experience this was. Dr. Childers and his staff are wonderful.

Rachel, the dental hygienist, was excellent. Very professional and informative. Comprehensive cleaning and provided info regarding oral hygiene maintenance. Good job!

**I CONTRACTED COVID-19 HERE**My first visit here was decent. The hygienist seemed to really care about my medical needs and took the time to explain what I needed to do.The second time I went for my fillings was not so good. Not only was the front desk not wearing masks, neither was the dentist and his assistant. As they were working in my mouth, they both proceeded to talk about their personal lives, politics, and things totally unrelated to my teeth. They got distracted TWICE and sprayed water all over my face. Every so often the assistant kept asking the dentist questions which made me feel nervous as if she didnt know what she was doing.A few days later I get a call saying several workers from their office tested positive for covid. Sure enough, four days later I start having symptoms so I go get tested and it comes back positive. This is devastating news since I was really careful about following distancing precautions and ended up catching it at the dentist office of all places. At this point, I will be reporting this office to the American Dental Association since a medical practitioner should be following basic covid precautions.

My recent visits to Waterside Dental have all been very positive experiences. Dr. Childers and his entire staff are very friendly and genuinely concerned about their patients. They are also very confident and very thorough. They keep the comfort of the patient a priority. They also keep the patient informed and updated during every procedure. Even though I was a nervous wreck, Dr. Childers and Jeanie were able to keep the atmosphere calming and friendly.In addition, the waiting room, exam rooms, and bathrooms all appeared to be very clean!

I had an semi emergency root canal. I have a lifelong dentist phobia and everyone there did a great job making me feel comfortable and I was very pleased with the experience, especially considering my preconceived notions of how horrible it was going to be.

My son came home and I was afraid he was not going to make another appointment being he is a 40 yr old baby about the dentist. He told me he had a wonderful experience with the staff, they explained everything that would happen during his scheduled visits and he is not afraid there will be pain. Which was the biggest reason he NEVER wants to go to a dentist. There was the possibility that I would need to get a new bridge--the old one was loose and in removing it there was a chance that it would crack/break. However, Dr. Childers expertly removed it without damage. He saved me a lot of money. Thank you, Doctor.

I even called back the next day to verify something that I misunderstood and they were very kind and patient with my ignorance to what the human mouth consists of. Very excited to start getting work done with this dentist. So far so good.Update: Still wonderful! I went in yesterday for some more serious work. I was supposed to have a few fillings and a root canal. Dr. Childers was so kind and honest. Once he opened the root canal tooth he let me know that it wasnt as bad as they thought and I didnt need to spend the extra money on a root canal that day. PRAISE GOD! The whole staff was so kind and I actually found myself relaxing in the chair...I never relax at the dentist. Definitely still a 5 star rating! Thank You Waterside!!Another Update: I ended up needing the root canal after all. After some time passed we realized it was necessary. I was SO nervous because my last root canal was a HORROR story for me. I ended up having an anxiety attack after. I shared my anxiety and past experience with Dr. Childers and he was SO kind. He promised this would be a different experience and through the procedure he checked on me and assured me that things were going well. In a nutshell: GO TO THIS DENTIST! He and his team are amazing!

Lets be honest, no one really likes to go to the dentist, but I actually enjoyed my first visit to Waterside Dental! The offices are bright, clean, modern and the staff is, too! ;) My assistant, Tracey, explained everything she was doing along the way, was efficient and just fabulous. Dr. Childers and the entire staff seem to enjoy each other & have fun, too. Having recently moved to the Sarasota area, it was a nice surprise to find the perfect dental practice on the first try.

Awesome office. Finally got good dental insurance and looked up places in my network and came across this office. Its clean and they run on time and in an efficient manner. Very thorough and friendly office.

As the doctor was pulling my tooth I ordered him to STOP the procedure. He continued against my request. Then he induced a panic attack/seizure like symptoms that led me to call 911!!! I ended up getting an ambulance out of there. As Doctor Childers was leaving the room.He said “I DONT WANT YOU EVER BACK IN MY OFFICE”He could of had some bedside manner but that was apparently lacking. It was very traumatic and caused pain and suffering.Also as I was being escorted by the EMT ambulance, the EMT said “That dentist seemed really rude, I wouldn’t want him as mine”I have never had such bad bedside manner from a dentist in my LIFE. maybe he was in a bad mood. But he should take into consideration of Anxiety (which was charted) and improperly numbing the tooth. I could feel the whole extraction. Hurt very bad and now at hospital getting I.V. Antibiotics.UPDATE: I had to spend the night in the hospital and got sent home with IV antibiotics, I was told by the ER DR. that the improper way of pulling and not draining the abscess led to a terrible Infection in my sinus canal.It honestly strikes Fear in me every time I think of this Dentist touching another patient.The PAIN and SUFFERING he put me though is just to much to handle. I had to seek professional help.Going to a dentist will NEVER be the same again. Thanks Dr. ChildersI will say the front desk and nurses are WONDERFUL!

Recommend this office highly. We just switched due to new insurance. It was kind of pricey with our plan but they took good care of both my wife and me and addressed some issues more carefully than my last dentist.

I went today to get a filling fixed. The dentist and receptionist were maskless. I couldnt believe it, especially given the day before they sent out an email about how seriously they were taking COVID! I asked them to put on a mask, they said I dont wear them and proceeded to put it on with their nose hanging out. Absolutely insane, especially as the pandemic is only getting worse in Sarasota. I walked out. Ill never go back.

Im very pleased with this dental office! Stephanie (front desk)was very kind & very helpful when my insurance changed & gave me a hard time with getting my new ID number. She did not back down until they gave her the information she needed. Staci (dental hygienist) was awesome. I was a little embarrassed about how long its been since my last dentist appt, but she made me feel very comfortable, & showed no judgment. She answered all of the questions & concerns I had & she was very professional & fun to be around. The doctor was nice, professional, & quick.

Right now you go in and there’s signs everywhere (and the dentist loves to remind!) that there is no reason to charge for PPE use. That is a standard due to the CDC. no other company is charging for use. $12 is ridiculous and more than the cost of 1 box of masks (I would know!) that is unfair to charge for that during this pandemic time. Yes I know it’s an expense, but it is for everyone and no one else is charging.

The process was smooth and the dental treatment I received was great.

The only place that was able to willingly and pleasantly help me with an emergency. Great place would recommend to anyone looking for caring team of people! Thank youTo the Dr and the staff.

Called for pricing the receptionist had such an attitude. Mentioned needing a root canal and she states we dont know that. Never asked if I have X-Rays or why I feel that way

Dr. Childers and his dental assistant Jennifer were wonderful!! I was scared to get my root canal done because of a past experience but he assured me it would be fine and it was painless! If you need dental work done, Dr. Childers is who youd want to see. I went in today due to some upper rear gum discomfort and found out that I had to remove my wisdom tooth. I was very hesitant due to a traumatic experience with an oral surgeon years ago, but I took a chance on Dr. Childers and he did not disappoint. First off I was in disbelief when he pulled the wisdom tooth out in under 5 minutes - but since the procedure went well I decided to let him take the other one out too (also in under 5 minutes). It is now about 8 hours since my extraction and I havent even taken the pain meds that I was given. Ive already eaten some pasta and salmon and this is just day one. Dr. Childers....you rock!!!! Thank you.P.S. - he also has some awesome staff members working with him. Its a 45 min drive from my home, but I will be back!

Everybody was so very kind I didnt wait very long at all in the waiting room before I was taken back to a room my treatment plan was explained to me very thoroughly helping me understand the entire process and financial aspect of it all all the staff was very personable and I felt at home I definitely recommend this practice for any of your dental needs

I hate going to the dentist but my experience pulling a tooth this week was a surprise. I am still alive and the Dr was fantastic Did not hurt except of course the needles. But I am a very happy girl today no pain

Great customer service

Dr. Childers performed a root canal on me this morning. Procedure went quickly, without complications, as comfortable as a root canal could be. Dr. C worked efficiently, yet took the time during the procedure to explain what he was doing each step of the way. He was more than ably assisted by Ms. Miranda, who augmented the process at every step. Besides that, they take my insurance !!! Cant beat the experience. Highly recommended.
