Ordered an iced latte and tuna sandwich. Service was quick and the seating under the umbrella was nice. It seems they limit seating to 1 hour, but I dont know if theyd bother enforcing it as there was ample seating. Staff seemed pretty cold and the prices are expectedly overpriced, but tolerable for the view. Iced Latte (with a little vanilla) was actually quite good and quick. Tuna sandwich was trash. Celery forward with no moisture between two hard pieces of toast. I get the impression it was made by someone who doesnt like mayonnaise or tuna sandwiches, but has seen them in pictures. Tuna sandwich was ready in no time at all, but it shows. Ill probably go again for just coffee and a seat if Im on the beach in the area, but dont plan for this place.
Dont rent here! Website said they opened at 10. We got there at 10:30 to rent bikes and were told to come back in 30 minutes when they were done setting up. They gave us lots of attitude when my friend asked them to adjust her bike seat. I asked for a different bike with working gears, and was told I was already paying for the time but suit myself. Then, when we returned, were told we had to go get our paper printouts because their system was down. Terrible service, terrible attitudes, mediocre bikes. Never again!
Leaving this review at 6:40pm. They refused to take our food order because they close at 7pm. Who has heard of a restaurant closing 20 mins early? Here with two hungry kids. Planned our day around their hours. Now we have to figure something else out.
Went on June 30th, wrong order, not only mine but many others, the bathroom was a disgrace, flooded, dirty, no soap. It was around noon, so it hasnt been cleaned since morning, as the soap cannot finish that fast.. Our requests to clean it were meet with rudness, my wife was told by one young employee that they have no time to clean it, and he just loked it.What was worst is that he yelled at us as we were leaving and refused to give his name. The manager seemed to be absent.
I went for a coffee and she said they were out of coffee and offered a latte. When I turned to ask my friend if they wanted a latte she told her co-worker, Im not about to make coffee and were about to close. FYI they didnt close for an hour, and it was chilly out. Since she isnt aware of how to politely whisper I declined the latte.
The coffee is really good. We walked the beach, smoking cigars and sipping coffee.
Unkind people running the place, ... Normally etiquette would say that when you see someone stranded on the side of the road you try lend a hand if possible, I wouldnt expect these people to even slow down... My family needed a favor to plug our battery trickle charger to jump start our dead battery that died in the parking lot next to them (not an EV) and the staff told me that they didnt have an outlet anywhere to plug into......
We stopped at Perrys during a family bike ride down the beachfront. Their prices are a bit high, but the food is excellent, with huge portion sizes.
Great food, but not much of it for the price. But it is convenient if you are already on the beach there.
I am reviewing specifically the bike rentals. Not the food. The bikes were perfectly nice, but the service was not. The bikes were unlocked for us at 10:05 and we payed for an hour. A 10 minute grace-period was provided. We arrived back at 11:13 (cutting it close but still within our grace period of 10 minutes). The employee charged us for two hours and claimed we had made the purchase at 9:50, even though the bikes had not been unlocked until after everything had been processed. I understand that stores like these face competition from App bike rentals, but I think it is unfortunate that they ripped us off like this. I would go again, but I will remember to be much, much more cautious about when I check back in.
Unexpectedly one of the best chicken sandwiches Ive ever had, paired with a very refreshing mango smoothie and an unbeatable view of the beach. Everything is clean and as expected!
Heres the upfront: Im reviewing the bike rentals aspect of Perrys. I didnt eat at the cafe.Easy enough to rent bikes and be on our way. There is a per-hour fee, and then over 3 hours (I think) is a flat fee. We returned the bikes slightly over the 3 hour limit and were granted the lower price anyway, which was great. As for the quality of the bike, my chain clicked quite a bit, but made the entire ride. The seat was comfortable enough and was easy to ride without being cumbersome. The rentals came with a big lock, so we were able to park the bikes and enjoy the beach/local shops without worry or having to bring the bikes back.Overall, a good experience!
We had fish and chips and a cheeseburger in the late afternoon, which were both surprisingly good. Fries were pretty good. A bit expensive but obviously paying for beach location
The location is definitely awesome. They have some chairs and tables for you to use. The view is great. You can see the ocean as well as do some people watching as you eat. You can take your shoes off and just have them on the sand. That was the highlight. The food was pricey and below average. Small portions.
Great food. Excellent location. A bit on the expensive side
They are EXTREMELY SLOW. Waited over 30 minutes for fries that were already cooked and 1 taco that is literally a tortilla with chicken on top and nothing else. Our order was to go, thinking it would be faster. Shouldnt take 35 minutes. 4 people complained ahead of me who were waiting for at least 30 minutes. Their excuse was they were going in order, but then proceeded to give someone who ordered a pizza 10 minutes after us their food before we got ours. Then they offered to refund us and not give us food after waiting that long. Im usually understanding but thats BS. The worst part was there was a hair on the chicken which we only found after sitting down on the beach to eat it. It wasnt worth walking all the way back at that point.
It might be pricey and the customer service a tad rude...but for this Texas resident the view, location and food are outstanding. We always get the King Richards Veggie Burrito which is outstanding....and this time we also got a huge pancake in addition. To sit on the beach and watch volleyball, hear the waves and the sun warm the the left side of my face while my toes curl in the sand make this place worth it.Coffee and drinks are really price and face it a diet coke is a diet coke, bottled water is bottled water....and most coffee is coffee. So we picked both up before getting there to save 8-10$.Enjoy!
Great food. Excellent location. A bit on the expensive side !thanks !!
Cool little beach bar with seating right on the beach by the beach volleyball. Food is ok, what you would expect from a place on the beach. They have nice iced coffees and frescas.
I ordered an item on the menu that says it comes with Rice & House Salad. After the order was done, they informed me I only get one of rice OR house salad. They did give me the salad after asking, but they have no plans to update the menu accordingly.
I like the place. Small but good things to eat if your at the beach with no food. I dont like one thing.. Only one bathroom for everyone. Not cool.
Very nice place, cozy and nice food, helpful team working there, very convenient to the access after the parking with great view if you want to set there and order some snacks
Good seating under umbrellas on the beach. While other places had a long wait, this place had no line and plenty of open seating, but the service is very slow, so make sure youve got plenty of time to sit and wait. The food is fine.
Staff were pleasant and cheerful. Bikes were a disaster, old and decrepit. Bikes not comfortable, brakes not good, chains rusty. Really not an OK operation. Would not use them again!
I got Iced Coffee. I thought it was as good as anywhere Ive had. Im a tough critic. I would recommend this to visitors. This place could be snarky. A sign noted non-fast-food takes time to cook, so I didnt have my hopes up for anything.
Most beachy snack shops sell exclusively fried fare, which yes, I want, but not when Im wearing a bikini. Perrys Cafe sells fresh eats like avocado toast, organic quinoa salads, vanilla protein shakes and mango smoothies that wont make you too full to have fun on the beach. And dont worry, they still sell boardwalk favs like hot dogs, homemade potato chips and two kinds of fries. Look for the sign that says FUN and youll know youve arrived.
Perrys has the friendliest and most efficient staff ever.Their Tostada salads are the best ones Ive had.Chef Robin and Bahaar used to make this delicious coconut chocolate pastry thats beautifully exquisite in taste.Almost Everyone Ive known that works at Perrys is hardworking and strives to ensure that the customers are well satisfied. They provide food, bikes, surf boards, Butler service and a great experience.Their commitment is sincere and Id recommend it to anyone thats visiting the beach.
I liked the burritos, appeared initially pricey but the quantity and quality are both definitely above average. They have shaded beach chairs to sit and enjoy your fare.Definitely will be coming back.
Ridiculously over priced and mediocre food at best. Walk to the pier and have a Pier Burger instead. Much better value and be sure to but all beach toys before coming here so you wont be stuck paying $15 + for cheap sandcastle building items for you kids.
We arrived, signed the contracts but took some extra time to choose the bikes since we had a small child with us, we finally left later and returned within the hour of departure, BUT, the worker we spoke with let us know we actually went over our hour and wanted to charge us DOUBLE, we showed him proof that we returned before but the young man was extremely arrogant, told us to sue him if we werent happy. Never going back there to rent bikes, other workers were embarrassed by hia behaviour. I strongly recommend going somewhere else.
Surprisingly good for a tourist hot spot. A big selection of reasonably priced, decent grub ranging from pizza, to tacos, to sandwiches, so there should be something for everyone.
Martin was extremely rude to my son and I who decided to come ride. My receipt shows 3pm but it took them 5 minutes to get our bikes and we got back at 4:15 and he was very disrespectful and told me I went way over even tho they give a 10 minute grace period. Do not rent here find somewhere else to rent from! Avoid this rude service
Pizza with too much cheese in it. The greek salad is okay. The dressing ist not homemade.
Very unfriendly service. They claim to have skates but actually don’t have them at this location.
Horrible and rude service. The manager like a to bark at pedestrians and creates a hostile environment
King Richards Burrito and salsa (on anything!) 👍hash browns w/peppers & onions👍fresh fruit cup 👍location & atmosphere for breakfast 👍trying banana bread next time
Horrible food that costs 3 times the price anywhere in the world. Not a fan at all.
Great price and close location to the vacation beach.
Tourist rip off central, locals avoid this place like the plague! $20 for a cheeseburger and fries hahahah what a joke.
To hire a Bike you have to give them your CC.Anyway nice Panino from our POV.
Nice coffee stop along the beach with nice friendly and speed staff.
November, sun shining, eating at a table in the sand? Amazing. The turkey burger combo? Super delicious. 20 bucks for it?! TK Burger in HB, we can get 2 combos for that! 2! Double! Seriously, outrageous! My wife and I split it. Could you imagine riding your bike and stopping for burgers and spending 40 dollars?! I would totally eat here again if the combo was 12 bucks maybe even 13.95. 20?! I cant do this again, for 40 bucks I can get a case of coronas, 2 lbs. Of burger, 15 potatoes, a 12 pack of soda and a jar of pickles and feed the neighborhood. The only thing is, Im sure it it my GLLL theory. Greedy lazy land lord. With this being foot traffic, Ill bet that jerry is charging over 10 grand for this location, no joke. They should put a sign up explaining that is why it is so expensive, then I would eat here repeatedly.
Nice people I plan to come here again
The food is bad actually, the service and prices are horrendous. Turkey burger and California roll $38 we got two drinks as well. Had to wait 20 minutes for our food. I imagine the only reason people comeHere is because it the only option without getting in your car or renting a bike (btw this review is not for the bikes or rentals section) the food was pretty good but the customer services and everything else was really below par
Crowded but still a good rest stop while biking down the beach
Coffee tasted like burnt dirt toast was rock hard and cold. 😝
Refresh your day with a good iced tea
Experience was good
Good but pricy
Old dated very expensive
They close at 6 p.m. too early for a beach restaurant
So much fun
Amazing place
Ok place near the beach
Good :)
Clean and friendly ♡
Nice
Average coffee
Santa Monica public beach restaurant bar.Friendly staff and a good choice of salads and various dishes, all well prepared and abundant. The prices ... A bit high, but here you also pay for the convenience of practically eating on the beach ;-).Nice place, a few steps from a large parking lot (this is very expensive), for a pleasant break from a day at the beach.
Coffee was ok, nice that you can directly on the beach overlooking the sea. Service is average, prices are the same.
The food in the cafe was ok, long waiting times and long lines, but it was most likely due to the fact that it was midday and everyone was hungry. You can sit outside, but the umbrellas keep falling over, the tables are dirty and otherwise it doesnt make a very good impression locally. Too bad there would be so much more potential than getting so much more out of it locally. Apparently, she doesnt need it.
Very bad
