Amazing place with a great local barbershop feel. Everyone here is great, I always have Andrew do my haircuts, and sometimes Jimmy as well, both of them I highly recommend. Both are very talented and Greta at getting the right cut for you. Great cuts especially for the price with very friendly staff. Definitely a Santa Monica staple in the community!

Andrew is the best in the game. Very fortunate to have been referred to him over 3 years ago. I cant get my cut by anyone else besides him. Very professional and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone in the Los Angeles area that is looking for a new barber.

Just like the barbershop you went to when you were a kid in the 60s. Its still here in Santa Monica. No chi-chi frills or styling. Just old fashioned chairs, with young versions of old fashioned barbers, giving good haircuts.

Getting a haircut at Tels Barbershop is always a great experience. The barbers cut your hair in the manner you want and I am always satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend Tels Barbershop for haircuts. Definitely a first- rate experience!

Walked in for a haircut while passing through Santa Monica and now it’s the only place I want to get my haircut. Jimmy was super professional and knowledgeable, took his time and gave a great cut and gave some advice on what to ask for in future. Anytime I’m back in the area I’ll be sure to come here

Classic, Tels is an old school mom & pop barbershop. Straight forward, in and out, your done! If your looking for a message, hair shampoo, nails done, this is not your place.

I live in the neighborhood. I called yesterday and spoke with Brian and scheduled an appt for 9AM this morning. I was there on time. Brian never showed up! I was told by the barber on duty that if he shows up he has to see the next person in line before he sees me. (I made the appt. to schedule around my work.) I had to leave. I find this barbershop to be UNRELIABLE and a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! I will not be going back.

Just went for my first time after seeing all the great reviews, this place is fantastic! Andrew gave me one of the best cuts Ive ever had and the price is one of the cheapest in the area. All round great visit, will be back again :)

At first, Mike at Tels analyzed my cut and immediately identified the trouble areas -- with an expert set of hands, he made quick work of it and gave me a fresh, timeless haircut. The barbershop has a good vibe, and the prices are excellent too.Edit: It can be hit or miss depending on the barber. Twice when Mike wasnt around I got a different stylist, and had to spend 10w combined w/ hair standing up on the back of my head because sadly they dont trust my warnings of cutting a cowlick too short.

Just moved to Santa Monica from NYC and needed a new barber. I visited Tels based on other recommendations on Yelp and was not disappointed. You cant go wrong with anyone in there but Ive found my new barber in Jimmy!I have an issue with part of my hair that I have to mention to every barber Ive ever been to... except Jimmy. I was pleasantly surprised when he fixed the issue without me saying anything. On top of that, hes an enthusiastic and genuine guy with a great personality. Needless to say, I will be going back to Jimmy for all my haircut needs!

55 years, thats right 55 years, since I was 8 years old and lived two blocks away I have been getting my hair cut at what was Charlies and now Tels Barber Shop. I have traveled from all points in California and some it the World and if I am any where near the shop I go there and get my hair cut. Even when I lived in Bakersfield, I would drive the 200 miles round trip ( with other business like a Guacamole, Bean, and Cheese burrito down the street at CAMPOS burritos). Best family and best haircut anywhere. Tel, Brian, Randy, and Andrew are like family and cut my hair like it is their own.THE BEST!!!!!!!

A nice barber shop being run by three generations of Tels family for over 40 years. You get decent service with a good price. Tel himself works here two days a week. I usually see him on Saturdays.

There is a lot to be said about going to a local barbershop as compared with any of the franchised shops that are so abundant. Tels Barbershop has been around for as long as I can remember, and as infrequently as I get what remains of my hair cut, I have the same friendly professional attending to my scalp. And somehow he remembers what we talked about months ago and we continue talking as if it was yesterday.Cheers.
