Highly recommend Freddie and his crew. I brought these guys my 2001 yukon. i had an Alarm system installed, also added motion sensor, and tilt sensor. The alarm came with 2 remotes. One of which has a digital screen. That pages you when alarm goes off or when in this case with the motion sensor, if someone looks through the window it sends you a warning beep notifying you someone is near the truck. Or if someone wast to steal your wheels. Also it comes with remote start In my experience. Great buy. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻specially if you have a vehicle you want to keep. It didnt stop there.I came back with my 2000 silverado which i previously had an alarm installed in the city of Paramount those guys did a bad job.Freddie and his crew fixed and properly installed my alarm on my truck. Once again i was impressed with how neat they work. Very professional . I will keep recommending people to these guys. Great Job. Reasonably priced products and services

The BEST! I looked all over Santa Monica for a company that could install my new car stereo. I must have checked out a dozen shops. All of them tried to sell me stuff I didnt need and overcharged me for my install. Freddie at SM Car Sound was kind, professional and most of all fair. I even brought me mom in when she needed a new stereo for her car. Ill never go anywhere else. SM Car Audio is my spot!

Freddie is a dishonest business man. He scratched me $160,000 car and then gave me a $100 credit even though the damages cost me over $2,000. Additionally, the parking sensors he installed didnt work and I had to take my car elsewhere, effectively double paying. I DO NOT recommend.

I totally recommend this shop for all your tint, sound and other customizations of your car. I used the reviews to find a good shop and it was definitely worth it. I got great price for tinting the windows just like I wanted it and upgrading the stock sound system to an awesome sound system on my brand new mercedes. I am very happy with the results and attention to detail. They have great professional techs. Excellent job! Definitively coming back.

I brought my car here to get the amplifier rewired and possibly switched out because the dealers service department had removed some wires. It turns out the dealer also had unplugged some cables from the head unit as well, which I didnt even know about.They were very quick to get the amp working, and noticed the other issue and fixed it all for a reasonable price in an hour or so.Ive also had window tinting done here a very long time ago on my other vehicle and they were quick and affordable there too. The tints held up on that car pretty well. I had used some kind of promotion back then and the price was really low so I wasnt expecting much but it was good quality tint.

Buyer beware. Nice place and nice guy who owns it. I feel I overplayed. My fault, I didn’t do my homework. The viper alarm I bought was 300 installed. Turns out the product is $89 at Best Buy. That’s $210 in labor. Seems when I asked if there was a way to hive me a better price, when he said there’s no room for a better price he wasn’t exactly forthright. Also had some other work done. Makes me feel I was probably overcharged there too. Again, mostly my fault for not doing my homework, but shame on this guy for overcharging.

Hi, I recently bought a Yantech backup camera. I had it installed by Santa Monica CarSound. I ordered the Yantech from Amazon when it arrived I called for an appointment. I had been told by several other installers that I would have to call a few days ahead of time, and make an appointment but Santa Monica CarSound was able to take me that afternoon.When I arrived I was greeted by friendly staff that promptly assessed my needs. They looked at what I had in the Yantech box then looked at my RIG. That’s right I said RIG. I drive a 2002 Roadtrek Versatile 200, built on a 2001 Chevy 3500 Express Van Chasis. That fully customized, 20 foot long, 8 foot tall, class B RV, is my baby. Which means handle with care.The lead service technician and I walked around the outside and discussed optimal placement. I needed my camera mounted high due to bike racks/bikes and other things that would block the view of a camera mounted low. Most aftermarket cameras are mounted near the tag. Then we climbed in and carefully looked at possible routes the cables/wires could take. I did not want to see cables/wires with the finished product. The technician was able to show me how the wires could be concealed from view. Then I excused myself and let the work begin.There are cameras positioned on every work area of the shop so I was able to remotely monitor the technicians as they worked on my vehicle, from the showroom. I am not sure if they use ladders often but they found one for the work I needed. Although it was not included in the work order one of the technicians removed an unwanted wasp nest from one of the outside compartments the cables/wires went through.When they were done, it was amazing. The technician reviewed how the camera worked with me and allowed me to evaluate his work before pronouncing it completed and when I was completely satisfied I return to the showroom to pay.The customer service was fantastic. As a female, in the past I have had service people try to dismiss me, so they can do their job. This was not the case!!! I enjoyed being included on decisions regarding my vehicle. I have to give Santa Monica CarSound brownie points for removing a wasp nest. The technician did not ask for extra money to remove it. He didnt tell me he removed it. He saw a hazard and corrected it. These are the type of people I like doing business with!!!!! So I am not giving them a 5 star review, they earned more than 5 stars. It was a few days job with a very reasonable cost compared to estimates that I got from other places. On top of a great job, I found them very responsible, professional, on-time delivery and honest. This place was a terrible experience. The owner is very unprofessional & incompetent. I tried booking an appointment but the owner was very organized and triple booked for the same time, and preceded to dispute if I ever even booked an appointment. I had to go through my phone to prove that not only had I booked the appointment but had prepaid. The owner still rebooked me and double booked me again. At which point then asked me to just leave my car for the day for something that takes and hour to do, just because his business is ran unorganized. After I let him know I was displeased with his service he made a borderline racial remark.

The owner Fred has thirty years of experience which was revealed by me trusting him and having installed an absolutely amazing system with great clarity and volume because of his knowledge of the best quality speakers amplifiers and overall knowledge as one of the greatest car stereo systems ever. Guy at counter claimed the original tint I had paid for fades so he upsold me to more expensive tint. Manufacturer for tint I was originally gonna get claims its tint is color stable so so your research before coming. I didnt notice until I got home that the rear defroster connections were removed and they put the film over the connections. FYI, the defroster connection shape is supposed to be cut out to fit the film. When I called, the manager was immediately aggressively defensive about it said the installer showed him they werent connected to windshield. Manager passed phone to the employee who installed the tint but not before saying you speak hispanic,? Which is inappropriate. Installer said the same thing about connections being unconnected when they got the car and even claimed to have taken pictures as proof, but when I asked for them he claimed to have deleted them. How convenient, right? So then I asked them both why they didnt show me in person while I was in the shop and they just spewed excuses. I knew they were connected as they were both connected the day prior. Film looks okay but gotta wait for it to cure to really know how it came out. Supposed to come with lifetime warranty but not so confident thats gonna be honored now. Gonna have to redo the back window tint if I want a functioning rear windshield defroster now. If by some random chance the connections were actually off then I apologize and own up to it but the way the issue was handled doesnt give me confidence that was actually the case. Also if the connections were really off then its very poor policy of just doing work without showing the customer proof first. This could have all been avoided with a super fast, can I show you something very quickly before we work on your vehicle? Story would have ended there.

The guys installed a head unit I brought in which other shops wouldnt do. They also installed new speakers all around on my G Wagon. They are super friendly and efficient. Would recommend this shop to others.

Just had my whole system pretty much re-installed after a theft and he hooked it up with everything thing parts wise I had before and more at a great price and quick turnaround. Jeep sounds good

This is by far the best window tinting shop in Los Angeles! Freddie and his staff are the best in the business! He has tinted the windows of numerous cars for my family. He also did the windows on our home and businesses. His prices are fair, and the work is top notch.

They left wire trimmings all over my car, installed the speakers in reverse orientation, had the wrong HPF and LPF on the wrong speakers, didnt put parts of plastic back on, and introduced signal noise to my system by improperly installing cables. They honestly couldnt have done much worse and I paid way too much in the first place. This place is a straight rip off.

I dropped my car off today, simple tint. A few hours. Never called, so I showed up unannounced. Car no where to be found. Well it was getting painted with silver paint...ON A BLUE CAR. Not only did they lie, and deny, I had to call the Santa Monica PD, Officer Berry, to come and mediate. Small claims court is my only recourse. I paid CASH, so I couldnt stop payment. Above all!!! I was there about a month ago to get my windows tinted. I asked around a few places, and this shop was definitely the most friendly on the phone and in person. I ended up missing my appointment that day but they were more than accommodating when I showed up later. They also carry SunTek, which is better bang for the buck than most other films in terms of heat rejection. Their price for the level of film quality was also the lowest I could find. My car was actually quite dirty, and they were still able to do an excellent job without any bubbles or dust. Overall very satisfied.

Freddy and his team hooked up my led lights on my front bumper and headlights, cellphone mount that is magnetic, alpine digital amp w sub control, fast installation, wheels, control switches for my parts, blacked out light film, equalizer, and 3m tint. I had Freddy and his friendly technicians install a touch screen media player, powered sun, amp, backup camera, and a laser radar detection system in my Audi TT. Every piece of equipment was top of the line, as was the ability of his technicians. Freddy was the warmest person when telling you every option available. I had such a wonderful experience here. After someone tried to break into my car and ruined the lock, I needed to install a keyless remote system. I first got a quote here and I also consulted with another vendor who told me I needed a key cylinder, which he needed to locate because I have an old car and parts not easily accessible. He said that the other vendor would not be able to install the alarm w/o this part. I called to follow up a few times but it didnt seem like he was in any hurry to help me and he never got back to me. So I went back to Freddy and asked him if I needed the key cylinder which he assured me I did not. Long story short, I got a great price, no extra parts needed, done on the same day I dropped it off. This place rocks!

I have two cars the Dodge Stealth in the pic which I have two amps and 2 10 inch sub woofers and a bunch of zero gauge wire installed...I had problems with my cd unit cutting off, thought it was in the install...turned out to be a bad alternator...the people here sourced the problem, re-installed a new deck I bought for no reason and did not charge me for labor...who does that in this day and age...they did!!I have a 300gt VR4 twin turbo, they tinted my windows and educated me on how some tint people use poor grade tints, I made that mistake on my stealth and the tint on my VR-4 they did was superior to the other people...you live you learn!!!..I would recommend these folks to new customers.I was treated very fair!!

Ill share my experience and let the users decide whos right.I went to Santa Monica Car Sound to install a DVD player I bought from Amazon. I made it clear that I know little about cars so whatever harness is needed I need to buy. Freddie charged me a total of $389 for labor and parts and after 5 hours the job was done and my Lexus Navigation system stopped working. The technician said Of course, theres only one connector so either the DVD player or put everything back to OEM. I was surprised that I wasnt told of this BEFORE the job was done. I feel they are hiding this info from me intentionally so that they could make more money, which is somewhat deceitful.Upon my return, Freddie agreed to undo everything and charged me another $120 to put everything back the way it was and add an AUX port to the OEM equipment, so basically I paid $509 to have an AUX port installed. Or, he could install an adapter that would cost me an additional $430 to make both the DVD and the navigation working.Freddies original words were: Hey man, I thought you [the customer] did your research and knew the navigation would stop working. He further said that it is impossible for him to know what would stop working in every car and its the buyers responsibility to know in advance. My reply was I said I know nothing about cars. Who on earth would know that uninstalling the factory CD player would cause the navigation to stop working? Freddie then told me that its common sense because the audio input has only one connector so either the navigation or the after market DVD player.So Ive told the story and my experience. In my opinion I went to them and was willing to pay more than the average price because I trusted the YELP reviews that they are professional. If they didnt know the navigation would stop functioning, how can they call themselves professionals? Why have a car audio store when you dont have the knowledge to tell the customers in advance what would happen? Taking a step back, even if they didnt know, they should have let me know as soon as they find out during the installation. But then again Freddie claimed that its common sense that non-factory units could have an adverse effect on other OEM equipment. Doesnt this conflict with his claim that he could not have known that my navigation would stop working? If he could make assumptions about customers, I can, too make an assumption that I came in to install a DVD so I expect everything else in working order when I leave, that includes the navigation, not for another $430 -- it should not be a trade off, especially the choice wasnt given to me upfront.They get 2 stars only because I want to be fair to them that they did spend a good amount of time installing the DVD trying to make everything look nice. Otherwise, they would have gotten the worst rating possible.

They did a clean job installing my Dash Cam to the windshield and hard wiring it to the ignition. Will return in the future. Thanks!

I went there to install a sound system and they told me they will install a alpine radio and speaker. they had my car for two days and after i went to pick up, I was running to work late and I did not notes that they installed a 40.00 kenwood system. i will take them to court.DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE
