I am currently interviewing dentists in Santa Cruz county. Today I visited Dr. Matiasevich Jr.s office near Dominican Hospital. My teeth cleaning was done very carefully with a high intensity warm water spray. Pictures were taken of my teeth and put on a screen so I could see for myself the problem areas. The office is squeaky clean and very state of the art. I highly recommend their professional services!

I have been going to this same dentist for 15 years and they have done everything from cleanings to braces and even wisdom teeth. The staff is great and they really get to know you.

Everyone there is super friendly and they make me feel welcomed . Staff is very knowledgeable and thorough. Definitely recommend them .

I went in for my regular checkup - i.e. cleaning, x-rays and semi-annual exam. Jenny, the hygienist was super great - gentle, thorough, relaxed and efficient. As opposed to other oral hygienists Ive had with other dentists over the 50 some years I can remember, she is the tops! My mouth didnt feel like a battle zone afterwards! I think Im in love!I have been very impressed and satisfied with every aspect of Dr. Matiasevich, Jrs practice. They take great care of you. Dr. Chai, the other dentist in the practice is equally wonderful and has done a great job with my often problematic teeth.Very impressed, glad to have them as my dental provider.

Excellent Practice! Doctor Bob Matiasevich is everything you would expect, knowledgeable, skilled, good bedside manner. He solved a major problem for me with expert work. He has kept every one of my appointments on time; so no waiting. Anna did a good job cleaning my teeth and made the experience very comfortable. Staff is pleasant and receptive. Things are run smoothly. Office is clean and clearly very good about practicing (Covid-19) safety.

Dr. Bob is extremely skilled and caring, and his staff are very personable and friendly. No one likes going to the dentist, but if you’ve got to go, I couldn’t recommend a better place or a better dentist.

I’ve been a patient at this practice for about 15 years. I see both Dr Matiasevich and Dr Chai, and my dental hygienist is Anna. I love them all and have gotten great care over the years. They have always handled my insurance and billing concerns accurately. It’s always a pleasant visit.

Dr. Matasevich is a consummate professional that knows what he is doing and how to do it right. I have seen him for many different dental procedures over the years without a single issue. The same can be said for all his staff. They are friendly, helpful and very competent in their various roles.

I have extreme anxiety around dentists. I was so not looking forward to seeing one because of tooth pain. Santa Cruz Family Dentists went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, cared for and informed. Gentle and compassionate was their care, I left feeling good about next steps for my smile. I will be switching over my entire family to their office. This was the first time I visited a dentist and was happy afterwards!

I am a total dental phone so this was the way experience at the dentist I’ve had in many many years. Totally made me feel comfortable and at ease.

Beware. They give written quotes way over service price to people. They don’t do medical insurance pre auths. Weird. Then say “you’ll get a refund” If insurance billing comes back and we owe you. My family had to ask six months later for our credit back. Their response, “oh looks like we owe you $303!”I worry about all the elderly and financially insecure people the they’re doing this to, that just don’t check into it and go on this erroneous good faith estimates. Bad bad business practices. Do your homework people! Better yet, don’t go there! Yikes!

If I could have it my way I would only have Anna as my dental hygienist. You feel her warmth from all the attention she gives you. The welcoming smile to greet you with, welcoming ears to listen with and gentle touch while cleaning your teeth. Anna treats you as a family member. When she is done cleaning my teeth I could actually feel the difference on the surface of the teeth. My teeth are clean and smooth. She actually removes the plaque off my teeth. I had my teeth cleaned many times and she was the first person that I felt actually knew what she was doing. These are some reasons out of many more reasons why I return to Dr. Matiasevich and Dr. Chai at Santa Cruz Family Dentist .

Loved this place until the front office decided it is unlawful for me to make an appointment for my husband. I had just made an appointment for him at his eye doctor and family physicial that same day and have for 20 years plus everywhere.When I became upset with them they decided that I was not someone they had time to talk to and would not talk to because I was upset and raised my voice. I did my research both online and with Blue Cross representative who said it is not a Hipaa violation to make an appointment for my spouse as long as there are no confidential discussions.I asked to speak to the owner Dr. M. and was told they would leave a message to have him call me. Have not heard from him yet.I even explained to them that there is nothing confidential about picking out a time and day for my husbands appointment.Front office people are so crucial to the sucess of a doctors office success. We sadly will not be going back to this establishment.

Very expensive! and don’t have any payment plans, came In the clinic with a horrible tooth pain, all they care is about how much money You would pay .i spend over 300 dollar just so a kid that working in the clinic would come and estimate crazy prices that I can’t afford ! Immediately they offer the most expensive treatment!i paid 300$ Just to be told that I can’t afford the treatment? Free consultation like promise in the website ?? Total false advertisement! .

I LOVE this team! Their staff is amazing! They really are the very best. Always happy, smiling and so good with their patients. I started my day at 8am for an exam and cleaning and they were so refreshing.I have been a patient of theirs for a year and a half and wish I found them long ago. After seeing many dentists throughout this county and others, I am forever their patient, Dr Bob, Dr Chai and their staff are so good at what they do and I will ALWAYS HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.If there were 10 stars, they would get them.

Over the course of about 6 to 7 months Dr. Matiasevich and his staff did a 4 post implant for a lower set, I was skeptical at first but with full confidence they told me it would be the best thing to do for my circumstances. To be honest Im pretty happy with how they came out and pretty happy I have back teeth for chewing now. The procedure was quick in one session and even had some temporary teeth untill my permanent ones were mad in a lab. After the healing process I was then fitted with my permanents. Very impressive. Thank you guys!!

No one really likes going to the dentist but it’s a fact of life. I personally used to have anxiety attacks and just refused to go. Until I started going to see Dr Matiasevich . He has such compassion and care for his patients. He listens and understand his patients needs and wants and goes above and beyond to make that happen. His staff members are very warm and welcoming as well. I would definitely recommend Dr Bob to anyone for any dental service.

Charged $295 to extract a tooth that took less then 10 mins. After we left his office my wife let me know he was more concerned about hurrying up then patient care and actually yelled at her to not move even thou he was hurting her more. She was smart to informing me after we left. Our regular Dentist over the hill, who unfortunately was out of the state would have charged $79 and used a smaller needle to inject the medications, instead of the pencil sized needle.SO Over priced, and terrible bedside manners.

The office staff are friendly and really help you to feel relaxed. Dr Matiasevich is great and is very skilled at his job and the cleanliness of the office is high. They are all doing a wonderful job of sanitization with modern equipment and technologies.

2 Crowns and 3 fillings, 2 molars broke different occasions and they rushed me in, closed the nerves, and I had a temp done that day!! All the material whose was quality and a week later after my new teeth were made They were installed Doctor Chai did a wonderful job, Its been 3 years teeth are strongwr than ever!!😁

Coming from someone with a dental phobia this has been the best dental experience ever. Today I went in to get work done with Dr. Chai. She was beyond amazing. She really made sure I was comfortable throughout my appointment. I even got a cozy blanket! After my treatment with the doctor I had a cleaning. The hygienist Anna not only left my teeth feeling clean but really took the time to get to know me. I would definitely recommend this dynamic duo to anyone looking for a dentist!

I REALLY admire the efficiency and outstanding professionalism of Santa Cruz Family Dentistry.I’m very relieved, because even though the wonderfully able Dr Chai had to work for 5 (!) hours filling cavities and root-canalling one tooth, I’m all fully repaired by now. (I’d come from another dentist who was so disorganized he ignored info on my cavities so I’ve lost two teeth, one that’s been replaced! Make sure there’s follow-up to your teeth cleaner’s assessment, otherwise cavities don’t get fixed on time! I’m so glad a good friend referred me to this first-class dentistry!!!!

Dr. Robert Matiasevich is kind and knowledgeable. He did implant surgery on me to replace some missing teeth. Perfect! Everyone at his practice is highly trained and polite. His office is state of the art and always spotless.I was referred to him after my previous dentist failed to diagnose a problem that cost me a tooth. I had told my him of pain when I flossed a certain tooth. He took an x-ray and said the tooth was fine and not to worry. I told him again at my next 4 appointment but he said the same thing. After 2 years the tooth was infected so he referred me to an oral surgeon who took a deeper x-ray and said we had to pull it. I was not happy about itI am very happy with Dr. Matiasevich.

Wonderful from start to finish: front office is very welcoming and makes a point of getting to know you. Leslie, the hygienist who worked on me, was very educational about teeth care and worked with what I was familiar with, as well as recommend other products (but wasnt pushy about needing to get them). I liked her approach of lets work on setting up a good home-care procedure vs. going straight to deep cleaning or work. Dr. Bob was great and gave me good recommendations/feedback on my teeth.The office obviously realizes that people are a bit afraid of the dentist, so they work to make you feel comfortable all the way through. I love their menu options while your teeth are being cleaned - you get the option of lavender pillows, music, sunglasses (talk about extra comfort!).Glad I found this dentists office and look forward to making this team a part of my regular dental care.

Due to rough dental experiences in my youth, I have become a white knuckle patient.A co-worker recommended Dr. Matiasevich Sr to me, many years ago. What a wonderful man…caring and gentle.When he retired, Dr. Bob Jr took over the practice and he was just as caring and gentle as his father. I especially like the fact that he takes the time to explain any procedures he will do, and is aware that I am very sensitive to dental work.Another thing: All the dental hygienists that I have used in this office, are wonderful. They, too, explain the procedures as we go along, and I love the little goody bag they give out when the work is done.I have recommended Dr. Bob Jr to many people. He is truly a fine representative of what a good dentist should be.

I first found Dr. Bob about 4 years ago when looking for a dentist for my then 93 year old mother. I was so impressed by how good he was with her that I switched to him myself. This dental office is exceptional in every way. The office staff is friendly, professional, helpful, and efficient. Leslie, my usual hygienist, is wonderful and Ive also seen Ana, who is great, too. I always leave my cleaning appointments feeling like Ive learned something new about caring for my teeth. Dr. Bob is warm and friendly and makes you instantly feel at ease. I feel completely confident in his skill as a dentist, and I like knowing that he can handle any dental procedure that we might need.
