I went in last Friday, my appoint was at 3:30 I wasn’t seen until 4:00 which is usually understandable. I wanted to do black and red ombré. The tech was unable to make it look good although he only attempted on 2 nails. We decided to go with my second option which was black heart tips. Like a French tip but black and shaped like a heart. I assumed he was going to do 2 coats, he only did one. When I stated that they didn’t look like hearts he told me I should have let him know sooner. If I knew that was going to be the end result, I would have. Then we decided just to do them black. He didn’t do a great job at painting them. But I was happy to finally leave. He was flustered as well. Then today while at work a piece of the gel fell off of my nail. Under it was still wet. So obviously it means that it wasn’t cured correctly. I called and the weren’t going to be able to get me on until Wednesday, which is in 2 days. Then I asked to speak to the manager. She said she could fix them for me today. She also stated that she remembered me and that I took to long to make a decision. I stated that if her tech was trained correctly I would have had my first option done. I sat in the waiting area for 30 minutes so I had that time to make my decision. Then she stated that I may have to pay even though they weren’t cured correctly. So I’m going else where and paying there. I’m not going back to inept people that don’t acknowledge their faults and give me bad vibes.

Modern nails is amazing and all of their staff are very kind and friendly. They have so many colors to choose from and it’s the best local nail salon in my opinion. I tried a different place and it was not as good. Highly recommend!

Are the nail techs there all Licensed? The men there do a poor job. They dont take pride in their work, they dont listen, or just dont understand.. It just dont care... It slip slap get out done fast... Horrible shapping of the nails... I always leave spending so much money and thinking I could have done a better job myself... Doing my own from now on.

I went there to get a gel manicure. I chose my color. She decided to use a different base color I didn’t choose for the base and I hated it. I asked her to remove it. She broke skin by being rough removing polish.My friend w me had a mani/ pedi. The manicure left food under nail ie: never even cleaned under.

Very clean and affordable. They did a amazing job and I would definitely recommend. :)

Best nail salon in SB! The salon is spacious and uplifting. The chairs are new (or at least in great condition) and every person who has ever worked on me has done a great job! At this point, I think Ive been there a dozen times and have never left disappointed. I highly recommend Modern Nails!

I have really mixed feelings about this place now.First time we (2) went and first we were super rushed, as really no time to look at all their colors.The nail technician ( Tammy ) was absolutely great . She knew what to do and what I wanted .The second nail technician was “ so so”.We payed for a whole new set, and he fit 7 out it 10 new ones- and we did a new method - so he only said - no worries - trust me- “, which - ok - a guess.As a new customer and a new ( dipping) method - we did not really know what to expect - except great work! but it wasn’t quit what we hoped.Then we went back again, because one of my nail broke, and she fixed it - for free- beautifully.Third time back - for refill and color change -Well this one technician tried to win the fastest record, in fixing both our nails, in the time he usually does one. So nails are fine, but it does not compare to Tammy’s work.

Everyone is so sweet here!!! Ive been coming here for over 10 years and wont even try another nail salon. Everything is decently priced, long massages, and beautiful gel manis!

Went today, a woman did a good job on the toe nails but another person do my hand nails that looked terrible. Hard to see how the toes can be smooth and shiny and the nails are choppy. Wanted everything done to feet and hands but false advertised on there pamphlet. They say they don’t have water to do sea salt on the hands. The person doing hand nails was nice but did it so fast you couldn’t enjoy it. took him less then 20 minutes to do a luxury mani. And I had to have someone else clean up the nail polish off the skin. I won’t go back. 100 dollars later. ☹️

Ive been going to this salon ten years now and it never disappoints. They have a huge gel selection and on top of its a pretty big salon so they can deal with a good amount of people at once. When my family came into town we had a group of around 6-7 and we were all getting our nails done at the same time which I think is major. I typically call for appointments but they also take walk ins. The staff is super friendly and is very detailed. I always leave this salon feeling super excited with my fresh nails. This by far my favorite salon!

Wonderful experience here for spa pedicures for two today. Wonderful service, very clean and great price. Twelve pedicure chairs and lots of staff. Highly recommend.

Best nail salon ever ... they are great at acrylic and gel

I found it to be expensive and they rush through your mani pedicure. You feel like they didnt have time for you. My mani pedicure was 64.00 and felt it wasnt worth it. Will not go back.

Had an appointment at 5:45 with my friend. They sat us both in the chairs for our pedicures. After almost 15 minutes I took my feet out and left as no one bothered to start my pedicure while my friend was already started. Horrible service.

Showed up with no notice for an eye brow wax, they were busy but got me in right away and my eyebrows look great! Exactly what I would expect from them after years of great mani pedis.
