The level of unethical and unprofessional behavior displayed by this location, specifically management (Rosanna), is unparalleled. As others have previously shared, not only does this area manager falsify statements and records, but her behavior is belligerent. Hertz corporate attempts to relinquish themselves from responsibility by stating it is a franchise. Avoid at all costs or be prepared to obtain legal counsel.

I have used this rental company every 90 days for the last year and never had an issue until my last trip which happened to be that I flew out on Jan 1st 2021. I was charged an extra day for my rental because they were closed that day and there was other no way to turn the car in on time. After calling the location and speaking too Arianna for about ten minutes about how I shouldnt be charged an extra day for turning the car in on time, but to the drop box due to the location being closed, and was not made aware at all of the fact that this would result in an additional cost by default upon the in-person renting when I got the car. All she had to say is it was policy and if she did it for me, shed have to do it for everyone that has been having the same problem. If its a problem for multiple people, the problem is with the policy not the people. Multiple people were charged an extra day for the location being closed and not told at initial pick up. Basically Arianna is saying that because they closed for New Years, everyone that returned their vehicle on time that day got a surprise extra charge anyways because there was no other means of return other than for whenever they got to the drop box the following day. Arianna told me on the phone at least 7 other people were emailing her with the same issue. The issue is with the policy that is taking advantage of multiple customers and taking hundreds of dollars away from people who were just trying to visit family after an already extremely difficult year. The right thing to do would be to refund or credit every person one day that returned their vehicle on the holiday and in the future, have employees tell customers who say theyre return a vehicle on a holiday that this will result in an extra day charge due to the location being closed.

They told me over the phone I should rent a car with my bank card as long as I had enough money to cover the deposit and a piece of paper proving my address...they lied...when I arrived the day I was suppose to rent the car and be in Santa Barbara at a certain time they told me no they wouldnt rent to me leaving me stranded...thank God for avis rent a car they took care of me and got me on the road no thanks to hertz

I would give zero stars if possible. The worst rental experience of my life. I was just HUNG UP on by the manager ROSANNA after she was terribly rude and condescending. A deer hit my rental car side mirror and I had no problem paying my deductible but they are trying to charge me a $150 admin fee because they out source things to other companies so they dont have to do the work. This was not explained or detailed in their contract. It says you have to pay admin fees but includes zero fee details or scale of fees. Hertz can charge you what ever they want if they choose. We will take or personal and corporate business else where. Rent at your own risk

Contacted the Hertz airport location about my rental Id previously booked through Hertz. James was WONDERFUL on the phone, helping me not only get my rental earlier, but save me $20 by picking it up at the location across the street vs. the airport, which I was not told when I booked originally. THANK YOU JAMES. You are an angel.

This agency went above and beyond in customer service. They left the keys for me even though my flight arrived after they had closed. The car itself was very nice, clean, and amazingly fuel efficient. I will rent from this agency every time I go to San Luis Obispo.

Our car broke down from los Angeles, we phoned but nobody picked up. Once we got here there was a guy sitting ignoring the ringing phone.We then explained the situation answered they told us to come back in the morning and they will have a car ready, when we get there in the morning they are rude and make us pay for another car.So now I have paid for a car that broke down and also paid for a replacement car. Terrible service

My experiences with the Hertz counter are obviously different than some others, and have always been positive for the last three years. The staff has always been helpful, and while they close early on weekends they have always been able to accommodate me regardless of when I arrive. The vehicles have always been clean and fueled up.

The most unprofessional ignorant business people I have ever met theyd ask me on different occasions to spend money out of my own pocket to fix their car they have made my life so complicated I hope that they go bankrupt and had terrible things happen to them both in their professional and personal life there is one lady that works there in particular I wish the worst worst things imaginable would happen to her on a constant basis and if it had your life would still be too good for her I dont use this word but she is a fu#@$ng c☆nt. do not rent from here once again do not rent from here they will lie to you on every chance they get and try to overcharge you for everything they are actually not even hertz their what is called a license. The morons that actually only business complained about me needing to have the car for a longer period than originally thought I was stranded when I blew my engine you needed a rental car for work and these people have no idea what theyre talking about I honestly hope he breaks down to an extent that they lose everything they put into it thats how much I hate these people how ridiculous their business ethics are.

DONT DO IT...Read the reviews before even considering this hertz location. Staff is the worst i have ever dealt with. Try being stranded 180 miles from home with no vehicle in 98 degree temperature. They messed up our reservation badly. I had all my paperwork in my hands and they still said i had no reservation and no cars were available, she said theres nothing I can do for u. I was literally in tears. I highly suggest you just make the extra 20 minute drive and go to Santa Maria. After getting on a shuttle bus i got my reservation fixed in Santa Maria. Avoid this hertz at all cost.

First off upon pick up I waited at the counter for 15 minutes while one of the employees was on the phone and the other was playing a checkers game and made no eye contact with me neither did he say one word to me . Secondly I was told to have the car returned by 5pm and I returned by 4:55 pm and was charged an extra day. I called and spoke with the manager who was very rude and did nothing about it. Very disappointed and will never rent from them again or recommend them in any way.

Im a Hertz gold club member. They did not have a car ready when I arrived. First car had inadequate air conditioning and steering was unstable at speed. I had to drive all the way back to San Luis Obispo to swap the car out. The next car I had for 2 weeks; they triple charged the fuel (on accident), charged a $200 detailing fee, and when I spoke to the manager, he agreed to correct the fuel issue, and said it would take 5-7 days to correct it and he wouldnt be able to get a corrected invoice until then. The correction was not made, no updated invoice was provided, and I had to submit the expense report with 3 times the fuel cost. Go to Avis when you fly into San Luis Obispo; this isnt even a real Hertz.

Personally and the experience that they made me pass, I would not recommend they give a bad service starting with the person that makes the reservations of name ANDREA O ANDRE has no kindness that made me more than 3 hours waiting and all because I just wanted to see the DMV paper of my license and I was with my 3 children and one of them has his broken knee was waiting from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm and only because she wanted to see the role of DMV when I showed it to him and that was it when she made me go through everything just because she wanted to see the paper was a racist person with me

Renter beware!! Turn your rental in to another hertz location.Do not leave the counter until your rental car has been completely checked in by the teller. Three times in a row, they have failed to check in the car I have returned, rented those cars to someone else and then charged me for the next persons rental. This has resulted in over $500 dollars in over charge!I have reported all three issues to Hertz Corporate (I had to, to get the hundreds of dollars back that I was over charged) and they seem uninterested in looking into the issue.Renter beware!! Turn your rental in to another hertz location.

This was the worst rental experience of my life. Uncooperative staff, my concerns were not resolved. Complete garbage customer service. I will never rent from Hertz again, and you shouldnt either if you want to avoid headaches with your rental car. Go National, they nail it every time.
