Great gym. Its quite quiet when I realize after taking my headphones lol. Great front desk on greeting upon entrance and exit. Can get crowded, but dont be afraid to ask if a bench is taken or how many sets someone has. People are quite communicative and friendly there. Masks make it a bit awkward, but hopefully someday well get to see one another friendly faces!

City Sports is a great place to work out! I especially recommend the personal training program--my trainer is James F. and hes extremely encouraging, supportive, and inspiring. He really knows his stuff! He pushes me to give each workout my all and Ive already seen improvements in my energy levels. Cannot recommend him enough!

Unprofessional staff texting me daily without permission to contact me via text. Signed up for the 5 day free pass and wasn’t able to enjoy or utilize all the days due to feeling uncomfortable and harassed to sign up. Very pushy and too many phone calls, after I blocked the number they used personal cell phones to contact me via text. Signed with another gym instead, even paying more just to feel comfortable.

CitySports does not focus on customers at all. As others mentioned already, it charged renewal fees and monthly charges without any notification during the pandemic. Many gyms provided customers the option to cancel the membership and get a pro-rated refund from the initiation fees due to the delta variant while CitySports does the exact opposite. Will never consider come back to the gym.

Don’t waste your time and money

Bathrooms are always dirty, always a barbell is missing from bench press. I counted 1 day and there are only 4 barbells for 6 bench press. For the last 2 days all men bathroom urnial are out of service. Gym equipment and attachments need big improvement

I had a great experience right from the get go! Jack whom I met the first day welcomed me with a cheer & was super excited to go over my goals & spent 1hr explaining the nuances and gaps in my understanding of my fitness goals, he also gave a me a free PT session :) ... I signed up for PT Mr. Big Phil .. A serious task master & always approachable, have already started seeing the difference. A great team !!

Better off going to another gym. Place is absolutely dirty, locker rooms and showers are never cleaned. Its very busy at all times with people who dont bother learning to use the machines properly and spend too much time on their phones, and others will take 3 to 4 sets of weights and never place them back on the racks. Only good about this gym is convenience for some, the sauna, and racket ball courts.

One of the manager there is very rude, just caring about getting money from people and won’t say clear about the fees. Other people working there are nice. They change policies just on their own mind, and won’t stick to the original premises. Swimming pool is dirty and always crowded. The swirling pool in women’s will never be fixed. The gymnastics room and the classes are good. The Fremont site is way better than this site.

This place has 5 star potential but is poorly managed. Weights are not organized, showers are not very clean, sauna is not working (sign has been up for 1+ week that it would be fixed–Im not seeing it). Could not find the 20 lb dumbbell the other day. You never know which room they will be in! Hoping management improves soon.

My experience at City Sports Club has been a very interesting one. I have to say with all honesty that I would have given City Sports club-Brokaw a 3 1/2 star if I was just basing it on location and the amenities that they offer alone. However, when reviewing a business the review has to be more than what a business just has to offer. It has to be based on the wonderful experience, the great customer service along with business service that they offer that makes someone write great review. However, I wish I could say this about this particular location, but I cant I could only give it a 1 star.First, I gave it a 1 star because of the customer service that is really lacking in the membership staffing and training counselor staff. They are rude, not very helpful and lack enthusiasm. I want to see a smile from the person behind the desk when I walk into gym and when I leave the gym. When a member comes up to a staff member to ask a question, let the member feel welcome to ask a question by acknowledging them. Do not just ignore the member while they are standing in front of you and pretend that you do not see them while you are continuing to play on your cell phone.Secondly,I have overheard many times staff talking negatively ( meaning inappropriate comments that should not be said on the floor at all)about its members while they are on the exercising floor. In my opinion, there should not be any comments made,but if there are going to be any comments made about its members of any sort it, whether its negative or positive, it should be made in a private setting where its members cannot overhear the comments. City Sports Club-Brokaw it is about image and the image that you are displaying with your members.Finally, what I have noticed is the personal training counselor staff has not been honest with their clients when signing them up for training. The personal trainer sales counselor(Jerry) is not very knowledgeable of the contract(or maybe he is but intentionally leaves out information) and lies to its potential clients to get people to sign up. For example, how much time you have to cancel the contract if you change your mind, how much it will cost to leave the contract, can you prepay or transfer your training if you move away from your current location etc.. My suggestion is do not listen to the personal trainer counselors if you are going to sign up. PLEASE ask to read a printable copy of the contract before signing an electronic copy of the contract to make sure you know what you are getting into. I have heard nightmares of members not being able to get their money back or have difficulty time canceling the contract once signed. Personal trainer sales counselor staff, BE HONEST with your clients and potential clients because it is not all about the sale, but the person that you have in front of you. For the record, this review does not have to do with the Master Trainers or Personal Trainers because if I was doing a review on Oliver and Rachelle S. I would give them a 4 to 5 star because they are excellent at what they do.I would like to add more one thing to this review. City Sports Club reward your clients. Do something special for them to show you appreciate them or when they reach a certain goal and/or ask for feedback from your clients to see what could city sports club can improve on.

At first I liked it. Clean and nice people. Then I decided to get personal training. The switched personal trainers on me three times. Also, the employee told me that training sessions would run out after 6 months and made me sign a contract. The contract said otherwise. It said that Id have to cut them off myself. Well, the problem is I have a reading issue and I cannot read very fast or very well. So, I made the mistake of trusting them. The billed me for much longer than a year and refuse to give me the money back. Maybe I should have run the contract by a friend before signing it, but I shouldnt have been lied to either. They pretty much took my money and wont give it back.They stole a lot of money from me.

Brokaw city sports is pretty bad one in Bay Area. Manager or Director is the tough one to deal with. He is not at all cooperative. Doesnt know how to talk to customers. He thinks himself very smart guy.And also They dont inform you all the fees involved upfront. They sign you up initially without informing about the yearly fees. And later silently charge your card with yearly fees.

I came to the gym when they opened and I was happy to see that it wasnt packed. I got used all the equipment I wanted without waiting. If you come in the evening its usually really full.

My son joined here and they charged him extra when we talked about it with the manager he didn’t even refund the money and staff is not good. If anybody wants to waste their money this place is good for them. Even I don’t want to give one star but I have to if I could I would give a zero

Very bad response for the billing problem. Their billing policy is not fairly for the consumers, also the sales associate didn’t clearly let the customer know the billing trap . They definitely have obligations to explain the billing cycle when you enroll but they didn’t, yet let you believe the wrong information when you enroll the club. The manager is tough and refused to solve the problem caused, denied to refund anything.

Very Rude front Desk. I recently brought in two friends who are non-members. I was a current member at the time. Notice I said Was...I wanted them to join City Sports so we could work out together. I usually go to the City Sports off Coleman Ave., which is closer to my house so I have no XP with this particular one off Brokaw. But because we were closer to the Brokaw one at the time with my friends, I took them to this one. We walked in the front door, and I went to the counter. I explained that I usually go the the other City Sports, but just wanted to show my two friends what a City Sports looks like, as potential new customers. I showed him my key chain membership card. Both friends have families. The person at the front desk immediately went on the defense and said we could not go in to see the gym unless we were escorted. He said we would have to wait for an escort. I showed him my membership card and said it would just be a quick 2 min tour. He raised his voice and said NO, I would have to wait until someone was available to accompany us. I said OK, but how long. He ignored my question. I asked again and he said hes very busy right now...Maybe 10 minutes. I said OK, and we sat near the front for over 30 Min. waiting for someone to Escort us. At that point I told my two friends Forget it, lets go. You know, if a fitness center makes you (Current customer) and two potential family customers sit and wait, I dont even want to know what the everyday attitude would be if my two friends joined. I told them to go elsewhere...In which they did. They both really like where they are at now, which needless to say is NOT City Sports off Brokaw.

I have used this club for more than 1 year while i was working close by. I really miss this place now. It is very big and features with many equipments. I miss all amenities. Hopefully they will open one more Club close to my home :)

Staff is very friendly, but not the operations manager Marcos when brought facility problems to his attention he was sarcastic and disrespectful. The issue was about cleanliness, specifically the Locker Area is absolutely nasty. If you walk on floors your feet will turn black, I guarantee it!!! Sinks are clogged up, bathroom stalls nasty and no toilet sheet covers. Showers absolutely nasty with white shower curtains that now look black. Personal lockers are absolutely messed. My one-star rating of this facility is super generous. In addition, I did not notice any janitors wiping off machines down. And Marcos was making excuses for all the issues instead of taking responsibility as the operations manager

Typical gym - clean and inviting environment. Equipment are few years old but not dated. Pool is reasonably clean which may be crowded in the weekend due to swim lessons

Gym is poorly managed due to many of the gym goers lack of gym etiquette.The free weights are all over the place and the bathroom rarely have soap in their dispensers. I go to de-stress but often leave frustrated by people hogging a bench or machine so they can use their cell phones.

Usually Im not picky on service, but this place takes it to a pretty low spot. After just a few years some fixtures are getting rusty, the bathroom can be a spectacular surprise, the staff has very, very high turnover rate, and you often have trouble finding them(for example, when you decide to cancel your membership on a Saturday).

The equipment is very good but oh my gosh - the locker rooms are filthy, the shower heads are plugd, the floors are dirty, they often have no soap in the dispensers and the list goes on. Sadly, management is perfectly happy to let this continue. Ive complained several times as have others so I can only conclude that they think they have a captive customers. If you are thinking of joining - check out the locker rooms first. This review is specifically for the center on Brokaw.

Unimpressed with the pool. It is shallow and the water is a little murky. Only three lanes and they get crowded with people bobbing around or doing breaststroke. I swam here three different days on the trial membership and even in off hours had to share a lane with at least one person. There is no timer on the wall to see your lap times. Only good thing about the pool is there is a large window on one wall giving lots of natural light.

Take these reviews seriously. This City Sport location is awful. Every time I come here, I make a point to greet the person who is doing the check-ins and I say goodbye when I leave and they NEVER acknowledge me. The staff is unbelievably rude. I have asked for help on how to use some of the machines from several staff members and they either didnt know the answer or they blew me off.My bike was stolen from the bike rack right outside and they could not have cared less when I inquired about security cameras or even if anyone had seen anything. They seemed inconvenienced to have to talk to me at all.Luckily I live close enough to just go home and shower, but their locker room is disgusting. The shower curtains are so filthy I couldnt imagine using them.They need to fire everyone and start fresh with a new staff because the customer service at this location is just terrible.

City Sports at Brokaw in San Jose, is not just sometimes dirty, but is always dirty. Personal trainers are not recommendable, dont reach the expectations of a good friendly behavior between the customer and them as members of City sports. The wooded floor of the group work outs is full of dust and sweat spots accumulated for weeks. The toilets in the women bathroom are embarrassing to say disgusting and at times there is no toilet paper. the showers are full of hairs not just during times of the day but all the time. Weekends is the worst.The most uncomfortable thing is that they bring their pool maintenance man to attend the water in the hot tub when they are females in there or taking showers. Actually cleaning and maintenance of the water should be done when no one is using or when the female customers are not using the hot tub.

Worst club. List of negatives besides the one you can already see in other reviews- Always very crowded.- Staff is decent but manager is very rude. That is because there are so many members that he lacks ability to speak courtiously.- Expensive compared to other clubs in the area- they can open account for you any time and always have promotion going on which always ends on the day or day after when you visit them ..such a marketing gimmick. When you ask then to cancel they can only do that from 9-5 on Mon to Fri or otherwise ask you to send stamped mail ! Really its 2018 where you ask for stamped mail where as going into the club is as easy as scanning the barcodeThink twice before you get membership here.

I have gone to this gym when it first open. It was quiet back then now is more crowded which is good for the business. I have no complaints with equipment there. The concern I gahavisthe womens bathroom need to change curtains. They are very old and dirty. The staff are very cold and unfriendly. I hardly see them smile. It is sad :-)

Place is clean and equipment is typically in good shape...staff on the other hand is hit or miss. Customer service is definitely not a priority and if an issue is had they are not that fast to resolve the problem.

Ive been a member at City Sports for over three years and only started coming to this one on Brokaw for the last year because its 5 minutes from work and I have a club membership and guest privileges for which I pay extra. Ive been consistently disappointed with the quality of the space and staff. The equipment is rarely maintained, the showers are straight up disgusting and clogged with grime, the pool is filthy and unsafe, and the locker room is rarely checked or cleaned with multiple customers complaining about getting athletes foot from the place. The staff is outright disrespectful and rude to customers, which is incredibly remarkable because Ive come to expect a better standard from the other locations I frequent. Ive found myself agreeing with a lot of the reviews on here by people dismayed by the quality of service at this location and you can tell that most of the 5-star reviews are fake. I let this go for a certain time because of sheer convenience.But today, Im downright offended by the treatment a guest and I received during the afternoon. I sign in and remember that I left my water bottle and headphones in my car, so I let my guest go in to change while I get my stuff from the car. Im searching for my headphones and I get a call from City Sports and its one of the sales representatives. They tell me to come back and stay with my guest in the most condescending tone, even after I tell them that I just stepped out to grab something. Then he tells me that hes going to note my account with an abuse of privileges and that, If we notice it again, were going to have to take drastic action. First of all, paying for a service is not privileges, its a professional and legal contract giving customers rights to use said services, so its not a favor in the least. Secondly, I was aware that their sales staff are extremely unprofessional and rude, but I wasnt aware that theyd make threats against paying customers. I come back in and watch their sales guys clowning around and stare me down from their stations. At this point, Im going to consult with a lawyer about taking legal action and get involved with their head office, because it isnt at any point acceptable to violate and threaten paying customers.I would not recommend this City Sports to anyone. Theres a 24-Fitness down the road and several other gyms in a 10-mile radius that provide much better service, environment, and at a much better pricing. If you value where your money is going for the sake of quality, avoid this location.

The same great City Sports, but I have to agree with the other reviewers that the customer service here is not good.Plenty of treadmills, plenty of areas to work out, drink machines, even a booth on the side to order drinks but also A LOT of people. Everyone is mostly in their 20s and 30s.I walked in and they scanned my ID. Im used to the worker at the other City Sports saying something like thank you or have a good work out but this worker just scanned and went back on his computer. I wasnt even sure if my badge worked or not.At least 2 of the 6 or so sinks didnt have any soap in them and the water wasnt turning on. Didnt see that one old man walking around naked using the drying machine to dry his private part like in every other gym.

Very very rude sales person. I came on 3rd, Oct around 4pm and I believe that you can identify who is the sales guy. I waited for half an hour and he quickly spent only 3 minutes to introduce the membership fee. I believe that he was also dishonesty with me regarding the initiation fee which he said would increase more than 50% tmr morning. After the 3 minute introduction, I requested him to show me around the facilities and here came the funniest part. He claimed that this club was owned by a Korean people (not sure why he mentioned that) and he has 195 clubs country wide. It was already cheap and no need to show around to people who are interested in!I also noticed some other people were treated badly by the sales person recently. If I were the manager, I will investigate this carefully or you just have too many customers and are reluctant to have new.Thanks!

I hope to give ZERO star to this place. The staff is rude, especially the manager. Very aggressive. The staff would be very friendly before you signed up but once you did, they have no patience and no respect to you. Dont trust whatever they said before you signed up. BTW, you can bargain about the membership fee! They will charge you much more if you did not bargain.

Lap pool and hot tub for a good soak after working out. Some of the headphone Jacks are broken on the eliptical TVs and the wallpaper decals are peeling by the hot tub, but overall good. They also have Zuma, Yoga, Cycle classes and personal training.

Scammers. Signed up for a free guest pass for 5 days, but when I went in, they said it will cost $15 for a single day. The reason they gave was made up, saying that I need to be local. That is not mentioned anywhere on the website. Other LA fitness did not have this requirement.

This was an old review below.. But i wanna personally mention Marcos.. He fixed everything. He is awesome! Kudos Marcos! Other than that one problem.. This place is HUGE.. All the equipment you could ever need.. Huge locker rooms! (But make sure to lock up your stuff) sometimes the locker rooms or showers get very crowded because of the swimming croud and i heard ppl complaining about crouded pool.. But i never really used the pool. Sometimes people will spend what seems like forever on one weight machine and do not know the meaning of working in sets with another.. But over all.. This place is decent.. A little pricey.. Some GREAT staff members.. And others that are complete BLOCK HEADS.. I wish i could remember your name as i would put it right next to BLOCK HEAD..I asked to freeze my account because i was going to have surgery and wouldnt use the facility for probably one month. They told me to come in when my payment was due and paid the $10 and then my account would be frozen. I showed up one day early than my bill was due and was told that my account was already Frozen and they said go ahead and work out and when youre done come back and talk to us and well work it all out when I came back that person was gone and they said I had to pay the whole month for working out that evening. What a rip off these places and what a crooked way to get over I told him just to close my account...The daytime manager foxed everything... I ❤❤ city sports

Love all the workouts equipments. But, the people whos work on the counter is not at all friendly. Mostly maybe because theyre teenagers.

People find the dumbest crap to complain about on here. This is a gym & the equipment works great. I have been coming here regularly for the past 6 months and have not had any issues with this place or the employees working here. In & out with no hassle. So, quit looking for excuses and get your ass in the gym.

However, I did report to front deskabout the first left shower bath for handicap properties with the problem about the switch handle doesnt work. Its seem to take forever to repair and change that shower.I need your guys check out again and make it available to use soon.your customer.

Oh, today I had enough of it... I am always a friendly person and doesnt cost me a smile to others..apparently one of the front desk guys doesnt thinks so. I dont remember when last time I was treated so badly by a stuff member. Its been few time that he is rude to me, unfriendly and unprofessional - not even mentioning the smile! He yelled at me today so badly that my little boy I came with got concerned and commented bad guy - police need to lock him up well Kid is only 3yo but that how it was...I am not sure what his name is but I am so reporting that guy.Besides of that person the club is nice and friendly. Kids are ok in the Club. Most of the time clean.

This place screams mediocre. The clientele it attracts is not the best. You have a lot of people who have never worked out and dress in dresses, jeans, collared shirts, etc. It gets especially crowded on weeknights. Its so busy then that you cant use any of the free weights. The picture im including was taken at 4 pm. I also want to note that not a single headphone jack on the treadmills still work.

Very rude personnel. I printed out the 3 day try out offer and went there to see how it is. If it was OK, I would sign up for the full year. They told me that my offer had to be activated by a sales person. I said, OK. Then the guy came and asked for the ID, I presented, then he started questioning me. Do you live in San Jose? I said yes. He said the ID has a different address, I said I just moved here and he told me to come with a PGE bill or something that shows my address. Thats how you lose a customer in 30 seconds. First of all, why would I need to live in San Jose? Lets say if I live in Milpitas or Santa Clara or anywhere in the world, would not you get my money to become a member? If you would not then you are stupid. If you would then why do you ask for where I live. My second question is why would I need to present you my bill that has my address? Am I applying for a mortgage? I came here to to see how the facilities and personnel are and I didnt have the chance to see the facilities, but you showed me how the personnel is: Rude and plain stupid. I will take my business somewhere else. Thank you very much!

Just signed up. Very disappointed. Equipments not cleaned, restrooms are disgusting. Looking for new GYM. . .

They charge your bank even if you cancel your gym membership. Watch out! Maybe we all should start a class action lawsuit!

Do you like water down liquid soap? Salty mirky pool thats always over crowded (sometime up to 4 people in a lap lane), and worse, 1 of 3 lap lanes often closed for classes.

Parking SUCKS after work (5-6 weekdays). Wifi is suck also. Hope you downloaded your playlist for offline! Equipment is good.

This facility parking area is not safety.Somebody broke my car’s window and stole all my personal property while I was in the gym.Also the lady sauna and spot always out of order . No anyone fix it.

Great and clean facilities, I have been going here for over two years and have never had any complaints with it. I try to go around 2-4 when its some slight down time as the gym can get quite crowded.

Dirty and unkempt. Management doesnt give a rat about cleanness and equipments are creaky and unmaintained.
