My rating is based on 2 out of 5 bad experiences Ive had here and the booking app called Booksy.Culture Cutz had two locations but only one appears on the app (Saratoga one). It causes some confusion for people and me. I once booked through the app, but then the barber texted me a few mins before my appointment and told to show up at the other location which was different than the one indicated on the app.Both of my negative experiences were with Chiquis. I dont recommend booking with him. He has a poor time management. He postponed one of my appointments and canceled another because he forgot to block his time out appropriately. The first time he did this I thought I was an honest mistake so I booked with him again. The first time he pushed back my appointment 45 mins. I was fine with this because I live close and had time. The second time I booked him on the app at 9am and he didnt show up and I had to get to work right after my cut. I called and texted him and he didnt respond until 9:40am saying he didnt block his time in the app and he wouldnt actually be in the shop until 3pm. Also, I waited until 9:30am outside the shop (in front of the door) and the shop owner was inside. He didnt come by to offer to help contact Chiquis or anything. Presumably because theyre all independent barbers. The owner just let me stand outside waiting.Its an okay place. Chill vibes. Clean aesthetics. $45 cuts. I dont recommend to ppl that like customers service or have busy work/class schedules and need dependable and timely barbers. They havent worked out a good system for that. Also, if youre booking on the app make sure youre at the location you actually want or text your barber to be sure.@cleanluuc (on insta) is a great barber. Very dependable and on time. If youre late to his appointments hell tell you and cant seat you if youre really late and hes booked. Other good barbershops, if you want to check out, are House of Barbers or Faded on Capitol Exy.

Wow. Just wow. I walked in to get a haircut and beard trim and came out a new man. My friend hooked me up with the best barber shop experience Ive ever had. Simply an amazing shop, great atmosphere, convenient location.

I live near and have been to more than a few barbers in the area. You can find a cheaper place for sure but it won’t be worth it. This place is great. You definitely get what you pay for. Not the priciest either. Awesome atmosphere, the new generation of barbers, just need a fridge with beers for the patrons ;). Will definitely be back. Also right next to a Popeyes Chicken so that’s a big plus! I got lucky as a walk in but definitely make an appointment. Place is busy and growing. Thanks to Willy for the cut and shave, pretty sure the wife’s gonna let me go to pound town tonight!

This spot is solid, you walk in the door and its full of people on a Wednesday evening. Booking was easy, prices are great and the attitude around the barbers really gives it a feeling of a quality job - its not a fancy, overpolished, hipster salon, its where real work happens.I got my hair cut by Lulu and she was the best, she was extremely nice, really friendly and helpful, and was really great with somebody who was trying to work out what he wanted between a few pictures saved on his phone. She gave me a fade and a clean line better than I could have asked for, and she really focused on the details and made sure there wasnt any stray hairs randomly, going over it a few times to make sure. I got a hot towel shave to tie it all together and it felt honestly amazing afterwards, probably the closest and cleanest shave Ive had in my life. Will definitely be coming back regularly to clean it up as I go, and Im gonna recommend this spot to my friends who want a great trim.

Great barbershop located in border line San Jose.The barbers are very skilled, have great customer service, and the barbershop is live and fun.They have ps3 games for you to play, TVs to watch games, movies, etc... great haircut prices and styles!I would definitely recommend this barbershop to anyone looking to get a clean and fresh haircut while being comfortable and meeting new people.Plus new clients get 5$ off!!!

I recommend this saloon for everyone especially Jose for his outstanding service today. This is one of the best beard trims that I got so far. Jose takes care of each and every inch of the cut.

Been waiting to take the time to review this place. Found myself in Family Emergency situation over the Holidays. Found myself needing my haircut. I wear old school Military style flat top. Used to having it done freehand by real barbers. Supercuts wanted to use a comb & that tells me. Lifetime of wearing my flat top. Says they REALLY DO NOT KNOW HOW. Will be leaving with flat hair but 6 tall. I call culture cuts gave gentlemen my situation. DETAILED. Being late in day on Dec 23rd. He suggested coming morning of Christmas eve. I arrived at 9am shard & the gentlemen remembered our appointment & even awaited me at the Door Saying, You Must Be Dave.Culture Cutz gets 3 stars for honesty. I guess I had too much faith even though the cutter even said sounds more like a round top going as low as a #1 on top. I think atmosphere was excellent & cutters were professional & friendly & welcoming. However. I know I have a hard head, hair to flat top. However. Had few get me right 1st time in but found Culture Cutz to lack anything remotely near the skills to flat top Military style. Finally. The cost. When hit with a $30 tab. I didnt expect. $20 maybe because Bay Area but $30 ? All I could reply was, Tip Included Correct ? 1 ☆ for professionalism, keeping appointment 1☆ remembering my name making an attempt at personalizing my appt. 1☆ for last minute xmas eve appt. -1 for on actual satisfaction with product -1 FOR COST

Needed a hair cut for wedding and jose aka el chihuis even came to my house early morning and did a whole facial came out clean and new look than any of my other years. Of course I hooked him up. got talent good looking out. Props

Went in looking for José aka Chihuis after a recommendation and left not disappointed! Young fella with lots of talent !

Asked for a half inch off the top and ended up with a (crooked) buzz cut with greater than one inch removal on the low end, drastically modifying the underlying style and thus showing a lack of skill in understanding the esthetics of cosmetology. Also resulted in a one inch removal of side burns, which is the largest impact with regards to time to fix.To the barbers, I’d recommend spending some time learning to cut women’s hair, such as at a salon, before settling in on men’s so the full breadth of style is available to you.Definitely do not recommend for facial hair, as some major norms were breached with modification when a hair cut was the only thing intended (i.e. not actually a barber). Top of head hair only if you want a buzz cut. Ok for kids. Also not recommended for alternative/thick hair, which I think is the primary cause for this one star review.
