Great haircut, I had an appointment at 4:45 and he had me in the chair before it was even time. I got exactly the haircut I wanted and it was quick too. This will be my haircut from now on.

Trnd salon is very welcoming to their customers, I felt very happy and appreciated with their customer service. Hiywot was my stylist who give me a great wash, treat, cut and style. I was very happy with the work done to my hair and also the price so I booked another appointment and return one month later to do extension and style. The customer service is great and the price is excellent for my pocket. Overall Excellent customer service for Hiywot and her team, I love all of them and the salon . I will surly be back again and this will by my salon from now on.

Phuong is awesome. My 1st time there. He actually did 2 haircuts at once if you can believe it. I came in while he was cutting a customers hair. While that customer went for a rinse he cut mine, and then we switched for my rinse as he finished up that other customer. Whoa. And it was still one of the fastest and most well done cuts Ive had.

Great service. I love the way my hair turned out. Phuong texted me before the appointment and asked how I wanted my highlights to be.The music in salon is also very nice.

I called and made appointment to get my son’s haircut and customer service over the phone was great. We arrived at the salon and told the guy what my son’s needs were (to get faded hair cut at only the bottom part with the top part not to be touched so we can keep braids on the top part) the guy agreed and started working on my son, and walked away to help the other customer who was there before us. It didn’t bother me but when he came back to fish on my son I was looking away for a moment and when I turn around to see the progress, I was shocked in disbelief because my son’s top part of his hair was gone, my son was shocked and very disappointed couldn’t say a word. I got up and said nooooo! That is not what I have asked you to do, the guy seemed that he didn’t understand and didn’t apologized but tried to tell my son how good he looked. We left without completely taking off the top part. Did pay the requested amount. My son is elementary school student and wanted some cool style and went to this place because of the ratings. My so left with bad experience and promised not to go to any barber shop ever again.It’s nice that we finally can come in to a venue like this but very disappointing start. Hope the person takes his business with care and knows what he is doing, and understand people’s requests and value them and execute his work with respect and excellence.

Ok this is only really applicable for women - please avoid AVOID going here for a haircut for so many reasons :1. The lady who washes you hair is very rough with it despite me letting her know a couple of times2. The guy instructed they will not cut my hair while wet. So they fully dried it.3. Worst is they said they only really use a flat iron to cut hair which means they made my really healthy hair burn to a crisp with a flat iron despite my friendly hesitations for it.4. There is no blow dry here it’s just flat iron5. My hair still has split ends and honestly I cannot think of a worse hair cut ever in my life6. They kept saying how healthy my hair is so anyway if it’s burning it’s probably OK.7. At one point to “speed up” the process both started using flat irons from each end literally pulling my hair8. They used a men’s hair trimmer to “finalize” my trim...Rally sad with my first real haircut after quarantine - wish, wish the customer service was better and my hair didn’t look like a broom. Also let’s please be respectful of knowing not every ethnicity needs straight hair. I requested them to leave my crown hair alone and not burn it, still did not listen.Overall, please please if you are a woman and your hair is not straight already do not go here.Incredibly disappointedUPDATE: will have to spend now an actual 120 dollars to fix it and have it done by a person who might understand my hair better

Good and not so expensive

Recently moved to San Jose and was stressed having to find a new stylist. Saw TRND was highly reviewed so gave them a shot. Phuong immediately put me at ease with his friendly upbeat personality. He was attentive to my requests and did a great job cutting and styling my hair. The salon is clean and the price is in line for the services provided. Couldnt be happier with the results and to have found my go-to stylist. Highly recommend!

Although I wasnt technically a walk in (I made an appointment online a few minutes before arriving), I showed up with little notice late on a weekend and Phuong was super cool, didnt rush, and did a great job on my hair! (Ive gotten lots of compliments!)

When I moved to San Jose I was looking for a great haircut which as we can all appreciate how hard it can be to find. One day while I was out for a run I passed TRND and decided to give them a try. After my run I headed over to TRND and got my haircut by Phuong.Phuong does an amazing job of cutting hair and I have been back ever since. From the moment I walk in, Phuong and the rest of the staff at TRND make me feel welcome. He always remembers how I like I hair my cut and the only thing I have to say if I was to go short or keep a bit of length. Other than that he knows how I like my sides faded and my hair styled!He can get pretty busy so I would recommend schedule an appointment but they also take walk ins if you are not able to schedule in advance.

So happy I made the decision to come in! Phuong Doan was my hairstylist and I will definitely be coming back to see him. It’s my first time coming here, so I called on the phone to make sure they were open, and they were so polite and professional. When I walked in I felt so welcomed, which for me is hard to say because I’m really shy. Honestly I’m so grateful, they took their time with me, talked to me, and made sure my hair was what I wanted, So excited for my next visit, they have such kind people working here. The problem was the haircut not the people. The owners are absolutely good people. As a new customer, you have certain expectations.....The friendliness was very apparent as you walk through the doors but then I see customers come in overbooked/double booked waiting for haircuts). I felt very nervous then he started cutting my hair. Within 10 minutes, I looked like a guy! I waited almost 30 min plus to get my haircut. It took him 10 minutes to cut all my hair off!!! Yes, all was gone. I even told him and he just pushed me through his waitlist of people. No shape to my cut! He charged me full price and had the next person already in the chair before I was out the door. Never again!!!!

Excellent haircut by Phuong! He has great attention to detail, thoroughness and mastery of scissors. The experience was quick but no steps were skipped. He also does men’s eyebrows!

This has been long overdue review (sorry Phuong lol). Its true what they say: when you find THE barber, you wont go to anyone else. Ive been getting my haircuts from Phuong religiously for close to 3 years now and I thank my lucky stars that I found him; I walk in through his door looking like an abomination and I walk out looking like a new man reborn. Got a haircut service done. Had the pleasure of meeting Phuong (the owner) and getting the haircut personally by him. As evident from most of the reviews, he is efficient and fast at his job. He does a great styling and really tries to understand what the customer wants. I went in with my 1 year old photos of a haircut i had got once, and wanting to replicate that. He had the patience to notice details and ensure thats what he delivers. A lot of past hair stylists (given they were just greta clips, supercuts) could not reproduce similar results.Even though it was late, and he was about to close the shop, he took the time to take some clicks with my updated hairstyle for my future record and to remember this experience. He was even polite enough to allow me to park my bike inside his shop for the duration of the haircut. I am one happy person after having discovered my new personal favourite hair stylist in town. :)

Phuong’s taken care of my hair for a couple years now, before TRND at Kittiez in south SJ and Santa Clara before that. He was the best that did my hair since Kittiez and remains my go to. Let the photos speak for themselves, you can try a place for 15$ or pay another 15 and guarantee to walk out feeling good.

Never seen a barber in America as skilled with scissors. But he lacks attention to detail, which makes the skill almost redundant.Could have used some sanitization between patrons, especially in these times.Looking at other reviews, looks like he is a pro with fade cuts. I did not go for a fade, so I must say I have got better hair cuts elsewhere.
