Amazing ambience and amazing food. Lucky we got the seats inside the N.first street Tram in the center.Freshly baked bread and butterSicilian Garlic cheese bread was the worlds best and super soft.Spinach ravioli and fettuccine spaghetti were lovely.Minestrone soup awesome.I didnt like Spumoni ice cream due to Cinnamon flavor but it was unique. So i just had vanilla ice cream. The cherry Italian cream soda was really like a cherry on the top. Loved it.

Very atmospheric place, kinda mixture of old factory and medieval castle Observing all that velvet furniture, stained glass windows and other interesting details makes the waiting for your meal even exciting! Food is really good here, and each plate you choose in menu goes with salad or soup before and a ball of icecream after. Im a great fan of their one of the most popular pasta Chicken Parmigiana. Marinara sauce is so classic and perfect at the same time! And chicken is always very juicy and savory with top of melted cheese and tomato sauce. Recommend this meal to everyone . Another cool thing to try is jumbo crab ravioli with ricotta cheese and pesto sauce! As for prices they are fair for that big plates and lots of complimentary items. So spaghetti factory is really worst to visit spot on San Pedro square

We used to enjoy the spaghetti factory from time to time. Its never been a high ranking restaurant but had been consistent. Our experience this week was consistently bad. We ordered a bottle of wine they were out, we opted for our second choice, they were out, we finally said what do you have? It took a good 15m for the bottle to show up, the irony it was unopened! We had to wait another 5 minutes for an opener to be brought to us and we opened it ourselves. Never had that experience before. We ordered 3 salads, two with balsamic and one with Cesar... after several minutes we were told that they didnt have Cesar, so we opted for ranch.... when the salads showed up all three were balsamic...so why ask?Dessert time...2 orders of spumoni ice cream and one vanilla. Guess what showed up 3 spumoni ice creams. It was so bad it was comical. You couldnt even be upset as it was like a scene out of youve been punked. The food was mediocre, not horrible but not great. Given all the wonderful options for pasta we will likely take a pass on another Spaghetti factory visit.

Positive: Very cool interior design, professional service-oriented waiters.Neural: I would like to see more salad choices apart from a 1000+ calorie Cesar salad.Negative: My chicken was only barley warm and not hot. This makes me thinking if it was just re-heated (pre-cooked).

I would rate this restaurant an overall zero. There were some aspects that were good, but the most fundamental thing to a good restaurant wasn’t there. Upon arriving, we were greeted and sat down at a timely manner. Our waiter was very inexperienced with opening a bottle of wine and serving it properly, but he was kind and checked on us regularly. Unfortunately, the most important thing at a restaurant is the food. The food at this place is not Italian and most importantly good. It’s 2021 overcooked spaghetti with store bought marinera should not be served. Your pasta should be married with the sauce. They desperately need a new menu, or they should just change their name to Olive Garden 2.0.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a dining landmark in San Jose. The place has been around for decades, and is as good as ever. Comfortable, family friendly, affordable, and has a good menu. The menu doesnt look like it has changed, but Im sure its been updated. Still, you can find your old favorites. Their meals come with soup or salad and an ice cream dessert. They have a decent beer and wine selection. The staff is friendly and efficient. Its good for groups or couples. It even has a full bar. So there is something for everyone.

For being outdoors ... its ok if that. Could have went less stars, but I still like their salad, but even that was cheaply plated with hardly any dressing.. Had to ask 2 waiters for more.. There was 3 of us.. My mom got a Potpourri plate.. It was more sauce than the cold pasta. The entree plates were smaller/ less and it was dinner time. Prices are expensive. I have been many times before covid, twice outdoors during covid and standards and service are just going down. Id rather spend my money somewhere else. Makes me sad, but if customer service and care is not there... then why should my family and I care?

Have orderd and picked up dinner here a few times. Food was always ready on time and as stated on the website when ordering. The dishes are tasty while they could add some stronger flavors, salt, some spices..... What bothers me is that every time they got something wrong: gave me bread when I didnt order any, no salad dressing when I ordered extra, triple butter when they didnt deliver the bread....they need to improve on that.Else, will dine here again.

My fiancé and I came in last night to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and had Mohammad as our server .. not only was our server he was absolutely horrible he had no personality didn’t wake if we wanted an app didn’t explain the menu was in a bad mood didn’t even realize it was our anniversary .. I was embarrassed for the restaurant me being a general manager of a restaurant expecting such a fun night had us leaving very disappointed.. I also complained to the manager who on my way Out rudely with no care or emotion at all tells me she came to wrong table to address the issue ..then proceeded to roll her eyes at me and had an attitude.. the entire experience was gross such a huge disappointment not to mention so much staff on doing nothing but visiting .. it definitely would’ve been nice to have a waiter to come back and check on us to see if our food was good or to see if we at least see if we wanted another drink the whole night was a joke we stared at him as his other tables were upset also.. don’t waste your time if your going to celebrate a fun time ..

We were staying in San Jose after a VERY long ride in from Yosemite. Looked online for somewhere kitchy and found it! Called and was told we wouldnt need a reservation for a table in 30 minutes (7:30pm). Got there and was told wait was 20 minutes 😕 The womens bathroom was in need of serious service! We were seated at a booth right next to an old trolley car, pretty cool! Food was filling and good, my fussy kid loved the cheesy garlic bread w marinara. Other one ordered tortellini with Alfredo and we split Chicken Parmesan. The waiter was told this but didnt bring an extra plate for our salad or entree, no bread plates either, no bread refill although it was requested and owed with 2 entrees, and no water refill. We chocked it up to him having a bday group of 10 and 2 other tables. Never saw a manager walking around, checking on things. However, no one left hungry and cost was fair, esp in a city!

Pretty good restaurant. I had the spaghetti meat sauce which came with a loaf of bread, chosen minestrone soup (cup size), and ice cream (cup size). While it does not look like they use wheat pasta, the semolina white pasta was good. The ice cream was all right. All of that for 16.50 is not so bad I think considering it is downtown and Bay Area.

The Tiramisu cut like a fluffy cube of butter. It was a perfect blend of chocolate, cake and cream. The famous mizithra cheese spaghetti dish was a little dry for me. The marinara sauce had its authenticity but I usually have a lot of sauce for the little amount of pasta on my plate so I felt the sauce was not enough. The toasted cheese ravioli made its way to one of the best served dishes too. The sides of soup and salad were exceptional.

Good n Cheap. Good selection of beers. After coming here nearly 30 years, glad to say if you liked it then, youll like it now. Unless your tastes have changed. Not the best Italian-ish food Ive had, but still as good as the first time I went.Cool interior and furnishings. Kind of old gothic church look. Nice bar with booths and cafe style tables if you want to get seated quicker. Last trip we sat in the bar and the bartender did a good job of looking after us while our server seemed to forget us a bit.Same as you remember, every meal comes with a salad--which is bigger now(!) and ice cream for desert. Even the bread seems to be the same recipe, great to see a place that hasnt cheaped and has kept the food the same as it has been for years.

The grandeur of this age old building will leave you awestruck. So beautiful vintage interiors will give you the feeling as if you have been taken back in time. I had a to-go order on a Friday and the waiter was very friendly and helped me with the menu. But the place was very busy (maybe because of Friday) and if you were to dine in house, Id guess that you would have to wait for sometime. The food was really good too. Food:If you are going to get spaghetti here, make sure you dont get the meat sauce and just get the marinara sauce. It affects the food taste dramatically. The minestrone soup is delicious. I enjoyed it. Their bread must be requested. I wished they cut the bread for you, but they dont. The salad is very generic. Nothing to race about it.For dessert, you get ice cream. Its either vanilla or spumoni.Service:Our waiters were pretty cool. They got our order in quick and got our food to our table in record time. I do wish that the soup and salad came out a little earlier. I barely broke into my soup and my entree already arrived. Our waiter constantly checked up on us and made sure we were okay.Ambience:The tables and chairs have a Victorian old school vibe. It is very dim inside. There is even a trolley in the center. You can request to eat inside. On the walls, there are artwork replicas.

The Spaghetti Factory was an average experience. I originally expected a little more from them. The host and our server were both very polite and accommodating. We did not receive a full course meal because they ran out of soup and salad and therefore could not offer either one to us, nor did they offer us any substitute for it. The food wasnt anything special, more mediocre. Simple in presentation, quality & taste and not very generous in portion. The best thing about this restaurant is the old historical building that they reside in. It was a dining experience that was not quite worth the price in my opinion. As a long time resident of San Jose, from the time i was in middle school and thru adulthood, I would always hear from many of my friends, how much they loved going to The old Spaghetti Factory and how great their experience was each time they went. Although Ive always wanted to visit this place myself, for some reason, I just never found the opportunity until just recently.Honestly I regret to say, they are not quite as great as I had expected them to be, maybe thru no fault of their own. I think that perhaps my years of anticipation had cause me to build up an image that was not realistically attainable. It was not a bad experience, but at the same time my experience was nothing too special to brag about. I think I might just have had bad timing because I visited on a Sunday evening after the dinner rush, on the same weekend Santa Clara County finally lifted the the 15 month long Covid19 restrictions and allowed businesses to operate indoors at full capacity, at a time when most restaurants are have difficulties finding and hiring employees. Perhaps under ideal conditions my experience could have been great. Although it was my first experience dining here, these have been unordinary times, so maybe during these unordinary times it would not be fair of me to place judgement based on this one specific experience. Maybe Ill give it another chance again........someday.
