I wish I could give Cost For Less heating 100 stars.I went with a different company to re-do my entire duct work because Cost Less Heating and Cooling wasnt available for this type of job at the time. Other company was to remove asbestos from the boots, and put brand new ducting. Safe to say other company botched job. Other company damaged my ceiling(below attic where they worked on ducting), hole in plenum box. I spoke with Marianne, amazing lady from Cost Less heating and Cooling looking for help to have them please come out to inspect a botched job from other company, she told me owner would give me a call. I spoke to the owner of Cost for Less Heating and he gave me amazing advise that saved me thousands of dollars. 1st he asked if the other company had pulled permits. I told him other company had told me permits werent needed. Immediately he guided me through code mandates, permits are a must for that type of job, and that a title 24 company and the city should test and inspect. He gave me amazing advise, as soon as I mentioned title 24 to other company and that I was calling San Jose to inquire about permits, other company immediately said they would send someone to fix work, pull the permit, and use title 24 company to run a HERS test and get their work fully inspected by the city. Owner of Cost Less Heating and Cooling charged me 0 for his time and advise, he truly was sympathetic for what I was going through. I kept him on phone for a while and he answered all my questions free of charge. Without his guidance I would have never known permits are a must, would have never had the other companys job fully inspected by city. Prob would have paid another company to re-do the work. Eternally grateful, and happy there are honest businesses with amazing people that are willing to help.

Are all the amazing reviews of Sal legitimate? Well, after having just finished with our appointment, I can give you a resounding yes, absolutely.He was extremely polite, offered to come out early because he had finished early with another customer, and when he arrived, the following things really stood out to me:- We were able to organize the initial visit entirely over Yelp (pretty cool!)- Sal came fully prepared with all the equipment needed- He knew exactly what to check for right away- He even offered to show me exactly what he was looking for and what needed to be fixed- Heres the crazy part; Sal wanted me to know that the A/C unit was most likely still in warranty and we *could* if we wanted ask the original installers to take care of it. How honest and trustworthy is that? Hes literally willing to turn away business if it would be the right thing to do. (We opted to go ahead and have him fix it anyway)- He had a brand new tank of refrigerant, and also offered a great deal on a UV seal to prevent the leak from happening again- He explained the entire process as he was performing the fix- When it was all done, he even put a sticker on the A/C unit to inform anyone in the future to first and foremost check with the original manufacturer to see if it was in warranty, just to make sure that no one wastes any money.At no point did he try to upsell me on anything. At no point did I feel like I was just agreeing with something without understanding it. This is top notch service, and a testament to small business and how it can succeed. Our the difference in the temperature of the air being blown now is unbelievable.Seriously. Its hot as heck right now. Dont hesitate, call/message these guys and stop looking elsewhere.

AC went out at beginning of May...only 5 months after buying our 1st home. After waiting a few weeks to find out our home warranty was useless as they didnt want to cover repairs, bit the bullet and contacted Cost Less Heating and Cooling to replace our 22 year old system. My AC unit and Furnace all the sudden stopped working and I called Cost Less Heating & Air and as before, they were able to send a technician the next day. Sal showed up on time and wearing a mask and gloves. He was very thorough checking all systems and by a system of elimination figured out the problem. He was able to fix the issue and now both units are working as before. He was also able to point out some discrepancies with the original wiring of the system that he was able to quickly adjust to prevent further problems. Their prices are fair and if I were to need further assistance in the future, I will call them gain.

This is the second time I’ve called Cost Less for service and the second time I’ve been happy with the results. Scheduling an appointment was easy and I’ve only known Sal to be professional, knowledgeable and personable. He gets in, does his thing and doesn’t try to upsell. I’m a pretty handy person, but A/C is not exactly my specialty. I reached out to Cost Less Heating & Cooling based upon the previous reviews, and Sal texted me within an hour.We began a back and forth as I described my problem and the troubleshooting I’d already done, and Sal guided me precisely into a couple of quick possible fixes. Unfortunately they didn’t solve it, but they did eliminate some obvious avenues. He finally gave me one last idea for what I could do myself (involved tracing my thermostat line under my house to look for mice damage) and BOOM…that was it. FIXED.Sal took time from his days, we probably had 15-20 pages of texts back and forth, and he helped me solve the problem myself – with no expectation of compensation. He guided me to a free fix. Today Sal and Richard came and cleaned all our vents and duct work. They were professional and worked quickly. I kept adding extra things on to clean and Sal had no problem with the additional work. I really appreciated that. Its an old house that hadnt been maintained and now I feel very safe with my grand babies living there, all the vents are clean. Sal is the best HVAC guy I have ever worked with. My AC unit had died and he came out to take a look the next day and told me that there was an electrical issue. He then referred me to a great electric company that fixed the problem but the AC died as the electrical issue got fixed. He came back and installed a brand new AC unit for me the next day. I had called him and he got 2 problems solved for me within 1 week. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my HVAC issues.

Sal came out today (Saturday) morning within an hour of my call. Sal troubleshooted everything with my 12 year old carrier unit hoping for a easy fix given the extreme temperatures. The cleaning took about 2 hours since my home is about 1600 square feet. Also sal showed me and explained to me how important it is to change my filter to avoid future hvac problems. Sal is a life-saver. He saved me from getting conned by some scam-artist on Craigslist who checked out my heater for a $20 diagnostic. The guy claimed my heater was 15 years old and that it needed to be replaced, but something didnt feel right about it. I called Cost Less for a second opinion and Sal immediately warned me about scams on Craigslist. I sent some pictures to Sal and he told me my heater was only 5 years old and is probably still in good condition. He first gave me some suggestions to try on my own to fix the issue which I really appreciated because he was trying to save me money. I decided it was best for him to come check it out. He determined the problem had nothing to do with the heater, but with the thermostat. Sal replaced it on the spot and boom it was up and running. If it werent for Sal, I may have replaced a perfectly good heater for a lower quality one and been in the hole for $2,000. Sal helped fix the issue for a fraction of the cost. He was super helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. It was also extremely refreshing to work with an honest guy who enjoys what he does. I learned that it absolutely does not pay to cut corners when running into issues with a heater or air conditioner. Its best to go to a reliable and trustworthy professional whos easy to work with. Ive had many HVAC companys in the past but by far Cost less heating and cooling were fantasticI was very impressed with sal the owner of the company with professional customer service and very knowledgeable on what he does .Sal inspected and repaired our 25+year old carrier ac unit thats been on its last legs.sal with out charging us an arm and a leg repaired it so it can last for the rest of the summer.When it completely does we plan to hire Cost less heating to install our new HVAC system.If you are looking for a honest outfit then look no further.

We just had our AC fixed by Sal . He was great! Very professional and seemed very knowledgeable and honest. I contacted cost less heating through google and sal (the owner) wrote back to me right away and said he could would be out the same today. That was at 9am. At 10:45am, sal was at my door. We ended up needing a part replaced on the compressor and a new thermostat, and he had both replaced and we were up and running in no time. I would highly recommend cost less heating and air. We were initially with another HVAC company that we later found out upsold us on alot of services that we really didnt need. We ended up calling SAL because of a AC issue. When he looked at one of our AC condenser units, he was actually able to fix that AC unit which other companies gave up on and just wanted replaced. Sal is honest and he really just wants to help. Last week, we had heating issues with one of our units. We called sal and through some detective work on his part, he found out that our fuse were blown and were actually not working. This led us to discover greater damage that we wouldnt be aware had sal not taken the initiative to look further than a mere heating problem. I rarely write reviews but I just had to in order to vouch for sal and his company.

In the middle of night, I woke up thinking Gee, it must be really cold outside. A few hours later I woke up again and said to myself Why is it so cold in here?. Well, it turns out my furnace stopped working.I called Cost Less Heating & Aire Conditioning first thing in the morning and they arranged to have someone out later that day. Turns out the capistor had failed. They did have the part on the truck, The part was replaced with in 30 minutes, and then boom furnace fired up and now We got heat. Im very impressed by this company. Im a renter and my furnace died on us this morning, I got premission by my landlord to contact a local hvac company only because hes out of state. Today I had purchased A Nest learing thermostatAnd didnt want to fiddle with the wiring & installation.I was in the search for a hvac professional to get the job done right. I found cost less heating and coolingOn google and decided to give them a call since they are a 5 star company on google/yelp and facebook.Sal showed up on time, before entering our home he wore his foot covers and introduced him self with a bussiness card.he explained to me what and how he was going to install my thermostat (nest)Sal installed and programmed my nest and spend some time explaining how to use it. What impressed me the most that he wasnt in a hurry to get in and out.
