Most reasonably priced service my 2015 BMW had been through. Good communication and honest inputs. They replace with original parts and use BMW recommended oil n stuff. I have taken my car to two other service centers in the past, they charge a bomb for the same work. I was pleasantly surprised to hear my regular service got done for $100.

My battery died on me late at night. A friend helped me jump it the next morning and this place with the closest and had the best reviews. I called and they let me come in right away even though they were fully booked. The guy who helped me was really friendly and funny, and I was in and out of there within an hour. It’s worth mentioning that the guy told me it’s not normally that fast without an appointment, but as a busy college student I really appreciate how quick and easy their service was.

I came in for a oil change for the first time and with what I thought was a check engine light. One of the brothers told me was just a tire pressure light. Honest and didnt try to play me. They even offered to put on my license plates front and back for free no extra charge, refilled my wiper fluids and pumped my tires. The shop is very clean service was quick. Customer service was on point and the price for the oil change cannot be beat, synthetic oil too.They even gave me a discount thank Akins I will most definitely be back. If you are looking for good honest service look no further then Akins, give them a try you wont be disappointed.

I took my 2002 Mercedes SL500 in April 2020 for an alternator replacement. The Akin brothers were so nice and knowledgeable and just chatting with them I felt confident they knew what they were doing. They are a small family owned business and their shop is impeccably clean! The parts and labor charges were very reasonable and they repaired my alternator and oil change the same day! Super impressed! I highly recommend them.

I got a few calls during those few days to learn about the updates as well as the costs prior to me approving them. I do appreciate their transparency. The final cost was appropriate as all the problems were fixed. Now I can drive my car happily. Akin’s will be my go-to place for my cars!

Great Shop! Clean. Like a shop should be. Newest equipment and expert tecs. Even the waiting room was superb. Had a trani and transfer case fluid change. The pan was bent and they straightened it for me. They could have said I need a new one, made more money and told me to come back tomorrow. It took longer to get the additive required for my Jeep than expected. Akin Was more than fair about this. He gave me a discount for the wait. And the jobs were still completed before 2. Absolutely wonderful caring people. I called to see if they had any appointments or availability for some new brakes, the guy asked if I could make it there within 20 minutes and I said yes and drove there. literally within 5 minutes they immediately diagnosed the problems with my car. These were very serious issues (life threatening) that other places I had previously been to hadnt caught before. Ultimately I ended up deciding to get a new car, as I felt my old car had reached its time and cost anyway. He explained everything, didnt pressure me and didnt charge me anything because he understood my situation and he was an honest man.Literally the most HONEST KINDEST and knowledgeable guy ever, I wish I had caught his name. I have a 5 year old Jeep Cherokee and used Akins services twice: 1. several months ago he helped with changing my cars suspension struts, 2. Recently changed the thermostats which solved my check-engine-light-on issue. Both experiences are super great for me. Akins service is professional, his team is able to identify issues quickly and solve it on time with high quality and reasonable charges comparing to the dealers quotes. He is also super friendly, nice to customers from my perspective. I strongly recommend his services and appreciate for his help.

Akin is the most knowledgeable professional mechanic that I ever had. I started working with Akin many years ago and still his shop is my final destination for my cars. Recently my son bought a 2005 BMW 325i. The next day after purchase, his car died . Although I put a brand new battery for his car but he had to jump his car every day. I took it to Akin and after couple of hours he called me and said “ I found the problem, I just changed a couple of fuzzes and your car is ready to go”!!!!I was waiting for a long list of problems and a big bill. He didn’t even charge me for the diagnose and fuzzes. Obviously, He was able to charge me but his generosity and kindness send us home with another great experience.I highly recommend Akin for any type of car specially European vehicles.

Akin and his brother are by far the best mechanics in the whole Bay Area. These guys do excellent work and do it at the best possible price. Akins is amazing. I dont think I have been to any business, especially an auto repair shop, with this level of support. I visited them last year to repair my brakes, and they did an amazing job. A year later, it turns out I got a bad set of rear pads, and my dealership brought it to my attention. The dealer led me to believe Akin didnt switch them. Turns out; Akin did, the dealership was just looking for more business. I called Akin after my dealership appointment, they ordered the parts same day, and got me in first thing the following morning (they offered same day, I couldnt make it). They replaced the pads, worked the rotors, and flushed the brake fluids...FREE OF CHARGE. Akin has a customer for life. All my cars will go there from now on. Thank you!

My best experience of all Automotive shops Ive taken my car to to period ! They are very honest and get the job done to perfection. Their moved to a new location with a clean new garage and repair area with ample parking at the back. Pricing is transparent and they dont try to con or rob you like the dealers and other body shops. My first experience with them was for a brake job for both axles. They recommend top quality brakes and provided a reasonable quote. Have been super happy with the new brakes with zero issues. Now I go here regularly, even for routine oil changes. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get honest and reliable auto services.

Car wouldnt start and realized the battery was dead. I called Akins to see if they could change my battery that day and they said yes come on over. I called my insurance to jump start my car and went over to Akins. About an hour or two before they closed they changed my battery and agreed to change my brake pads, transmission, and everything else that I needed to get fixed (I was due to stop on by for those things anyway). Since people werent coming as much due to covid-19, they got two people to work on my car at the same time. They finished everything with my car and gave me a $230 discount on the parts. They really hooked me up and the employees are super friendly. I hope everyone can go support this auto shop during this time and give them business.

For the whole time living in California (over 5 years) we were coming to Akins. They are professional and dont try to cross/up sell you. We regularly did oil change, later they changed breaks, transmission fluid, also spark plugs. We moved away but they were awesome, will miss them!

Ands down the best mechanic experience Ive ever had. When looking at all the 5 star reviews, you cant help but be skeptical of their legitimacy. I can assure that they are all accurate. I was able to make an appointment for brakes and roaters and they were even able to get me in early. This establishment is honest and respectful. I took my 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel to them for suspension noise and did not charge me when they did not perform the repair. They literally lost money on my car and didnt treat me any different.Reason they didnt work on my car is I had already left and I didnt tell them its a diesel. In return, he referred me to a shop that does.

Got my intake manifold runner changed. They found issue with the cold air intake hose and attempted to fix it with electrical tape. The part was old and due for a replacement, but they didnt let me know. Found out by failing smog check and had to replace it myself. It caused me a lot of inconvenience. Went back to the shop and they gave me a small partial refund and admitted he forgot to tell me.The owner seems nice, genuine, and cares about his customers. I think admitting fault and trying to work it out is good character. Would return in the future and recommend.

Got my cars water pumps, seals and brake replaced here, they did a better job than the job toyota capitol.

Went in for an oil change and an inspection since I was worried my car needed costly repairs and new brakes.I was instead informed by Noah that my car was in good condition and still had a decent amount of life left on the break pads.Overall, I was very pleased with the service I got, and greatly appreciated the honesty in telling me what services were not needed. One of the best mechanics I’ve ever taken my car to. Oil change is reasonably priced (under $60 most visits). During each oil change, they also do an entire check of your car’s fluids, tire pressure and other general things that help keep your car running. Noah, the guy usually running the front desk, is always polite and transparent with whatever issue your car may have. Definitely recommend these guys if you’re looking for a trustworthy mechanic.

Akin said what he would do and I was off to the waiting room.Waiting room has a big sofa, TV, bathroom, slot machine, and water. Its a time for you to bond with other customers while you watch news. Wifi is very fast so bring your laptop and work.My AC was recharged and good to go in 1 hour for $45!Not sure if this fixed my issue, but so far its working. Thanks Akin!----Update : I had to bring in my car again because it was blowing hot air again. Turns out Honda / Acuras often have issues with the compressor. So once Akin diagnosed the issue, he gave me a quote of $800-900. Absolutely no pressure. He said to take my time and get quotes from others and let him know what I chose to do. I really appreciated this.I went to other places.Acura Honda Connection - $1200-$1300Acura dealership - at least $2500 (yes, they quoted me that way)Akins - $800-900I figured out from reading online, that my Acura RL needed the field coil changed so I ended up doing this myself costing me $100 + 3-5 hours of labor + a lot of bruises from being a newbI think Akins price is very fair. Given that a new Denso condenser costs $400-500 for my car online, hes only charging $300-400 for the labor.Akin can be a bit loud and intimidating, but he does great work. Thumbs up!

Quick repairs good prices

Ive been coming to Akins for a number of years now and they are definitely the best mechanics around. Fair prices and honest mechanics who dont try to upsell you. They are also thorough in doing their jobs. I come here mostly for oil changes but they always make sure to inspect the car too and tell me of any leaks or brake issues. Highly recommend. Be aware they recently switched locations and are now located on Keyes St

Always up front pricing. We asked for a 30k mile checkup, but he suggested the 100k version when he saw the mileage. Also, a couple of days later, the engine started skipping. And although it didnt seem related to anything his crew had done, he fixed it for free since it was so close after our visit.

Akin and his brother Ayden are by far the most honest mechanics that I have ever met. I have been going to him for years, and there is a reason why his business is always expanding (started going to his business when he only had 2 bays, and now 8 or more bays). Akin and Ayden do not up-sell services that are not needed, and are very patient in explaining issues that your car may have. This is drastically different when compared to other mechanics, as other mechanics will push extra services/repairs that are not needed. In instances of multiple repairs being needed, Akin provided me with a list of repairs based on priority, so that you can plan accordingly. I highly recommend bringing your car in for service here as it is very easy to work remotely from the waiting room, and they provide consistent status updates with your car.

They have saved me with car trouble multiple times with fast, honest, and quick work. My first experience here I went on a test drive with the head of the place (I think Akin himself) and he diagnosed the problem in 30 seconds. We headed back to the shop and he had the car fixed in no time at a fair price. Is it strange to say I don’t actually mind having to come here? Everyone dreads taking their car to the mechanic...NOT ME! And you won’t either with these guys. They’re so friendly and respectful to me and my toddler daughter who gets toted along with.

I’ve been going to Akin’s automotive for years. I initially found the shop by looking at a lot of shops and a lot of reviews online. The extremely positive reviews seemed almost too superlative, but I’ve come to know that Akin’s is a shop I can trust completely with my car. I’ve had 3 different cars during the time I’ve been coming here and have always been treated with care by the knowledgeable staff. I recommend them without hesitation. The only downside to leaving this review is now there will be even more competition for a service appointment. But now the new expanded location will surely accommodate any overflow. .
