Bartlett came by early August. to prune two street trees, an acacia and a ficus. They were very slow, lots of laughter and chitchat, and the pruning job was poor, incomplete, hacked/butchered, and asymmetrical. We pointed out the glitches and the workers argued that they followed the work order. ( what about the client?)One of the workers allowed that The hourly rate is $175! Per man.The supervisor inspected this botched job, agreed that the work was lacking, and said the workers would be back on 8/19.Wrong! They arrived today 8/18 w/o notice and continued their poor work. Ditto: arguing that it was fine. Another annoyance was extremely loud shouting of directions from the street up to the pruner.Moral to the story: don’t think that the highest bid will result in the highest quality tree pruning. Wrong!

TL;DR: Bartlett didnt take responsibility for the damage they did to our trees, after I asked them to stop trimming them so heavily.Details: We hired Bartlett to trim 3 willow acacia trees in front of our house as we prepared to list it for sale. We also hired them to prune two eucalyptus trees in front of our neighbors home, for aesthetics and improved views. They were the least expensive bid we received, and unfortunately I ignored poor reviews of their work online.Witnessing that their crew had very heavily pruned the first 2 of the 3 willow acacias (inconsistent with the goal of listing for sale in just a few weeks), I asked their crew leader to less heavily prune the 3rd tree. They went ahead and pruned it even MORE heavily than the first 2, deciding it was more important to achieve symmetry than to keep foliage on it.4 weeks later and the tree remains nearly barren, and an eye-sore in front of our for-sale home. I asked Bartlett not to charge us for their services, escalated to their regional VP, and they declined. Im posting here so others might avoid the same mistake. They earn 2 stars because they did nice work on the eucalyptus trees, and to show that Im not a ranting internet commenter.

Worked with Josh to nudge our neighbors to trim their trees that were over the property line and dropping leaves/fruit on our deck. Experience was great! Easy scheduling, communicative, and completed work looks awesome!

They were prompt with estimates and callbacks. Happy to have them work on a tree with a difficult fence between houses. They left the place cleaner than it was before the tree trimming.

Bartlett Tree Experts is the owner. Mr. David and his team did a terrific job trimming and shaping bulb for the king palm in my back yard. The crew is personable and professional. They trimmed the tree, removed the branches, and cleaned up the area. I could not ask for more! Reasonable rates, great people, great work! Thank you very much for your all of your work! I highly recommend Bartlett Tree Experts.

Luis and his crew worked efficiently and is great at what they do - trimming and tree removal. I think the price is fair and they could come on short notice. They clean up pretty well and even went over to neighbors yard to pick up the trimmings.

I got some very good advice from June about navigating the SF permit process. I ended up going with a slightly cheaper quote (unfortunately I need to save every penny these days) but wanted to check in here and thank June for his help.

One of your technicians came out to look at my 2 sick trees. He was prompt, knowledgable and concise. He knew what the problem was and what needed to be done. He left promising to send an estimate that evening to my email address. I never received it. I gave him a week and then called and sent a request for the estimate, as I am anxious to get the work started. A week later and still no word? This is a bad business model.

Once I approved Juan Carrascos estimate, it took several phone calls and at least three months for him to call me back. And then it was to let me know someone could come that day. Well, that day was inconvenient for me and it took about another month or six weeks for him to call back to say, once again, someone could come the next day. A nice young man did come, applied the treatment I had accepted for an estimate of $350. Surprise! When I got the bill, there was an additional $185 charged for a treatment I never authorized. This may just be a problem with Juans services but I will never use Bartlett again.

I believe they are out of business.. None of the mail boxes at their tel # has any place to leave a message, and they do not answer emails, and the only date mentioned..is by Juan Carrasco, and it refers to being back in the office in Dec.R.I.P.

Juan is a worst manager .👎 its shame for Bartlett to keep him and loose his costumer service because of him.
