By far the most knowledgeable, friendly outgoing staff I’ve ever had on a fishing trip! These guys knew their stuff and took us on a trip we’re sure to remember for our lifetime. We got great pictures and caught an amazing assortment of animals. The boat was clean and the crew was readily prepared and properly equipped to fish for what we were going for. They even gave us advice for how to properly care for and prepare the food to eat. Would totally recommend captain Steve!

Awesome shark fishing with captain Steve and deck hand John. Captain Steve knows all the good fishing spots and is always confident about catching the target fish of your choosing. Overall I have had 2 great experiences with Flash Fishing and highly recommend going with Flash. Captain is very knowledgeable of the fish and how they bite. Great time - Steve and Ben were terrific guides. We caught 4 white sea bass and 3 halibut! We have already recommended them to our friends, and really anyone who is interested in fishing! The boat was clean, same for the bathroom. The cabin was cozy for the 6 passengers. Captain Steve was also allowed our pup to go on the boat - note we are responsible for any accidents!They gutted the fish for you before you take them home as well!

First time my husband ever went deep sea fishing! Captain Steve and his deck hands did an amazing job today! If you want to go out and reel in the big one, no experience necessary. Pictures say it all! Friendly staff they even have a grill on the boat. Great communication up to the day of your trip!!

A group of four of us went out about a month ago and had an absolutely amazing time. I apologize to the company, but for the life of me a cannot remember the captains or the deck hands name, but they were both amazing and definitely went above and beyond in making sure we had an amazing half day on the water. First and foremost, you really cant beat a partially cloudy sunrise on the bay, especially as youre headed out underneath the bridge and out to the coast line. It was superb. They made sure we hit our max limit, so we could bring home as much fish as we could, some really tasty rockfish and a few gnarly (in a good way) looking lingcod. I think we got back to Fishermans Wharf before 1 PM, each one of us with a big ol bag fish in our hands. I would 100% recommend this company if you want to charter a fishing boat and I am personally looking forward to booking them again, which I can guarantee will happen.

Our group did a half day trip out of SF today. I’m never one to sugar coat an experience if it’s good it’s good if it’s bad there’s no reason to embellish.If you’re the type that likes to have the most professional stick up the ___ type of captain out there then it would probably be better to look somewhere else. If however you’re like us and like to let your hair down and have a good time then Captain Charles is the best one there for you. He’s rough around the edges and absolutely hilarious. He also knows his fishing. In roughly 4 hours we had to take the boat back in because we caught so much halibut we didn’t have room for it all.I don’t want to get weird about it but my Dad passed away three years ago and it felt like I was fishing with him again. Charles is a screwball, but he is serious about his fish and the people he takes out. If he’s getting on your case it’s to help you do a better job.Thanks for the great time guys, we’ll definitely be back.

Captain Charles and Ben were fantastic. My friends and I set out on a 1/2 day shark trip, but it turned into a shark and halibut trip! The styles were different and coming from zero experience, Charles and Ben were very helpful and answered all of my questions. My group had no interest in keeping the sharks so we threw the Leopard and 7 Gills back, but it was so fun to catch them and they are beautiful animals. We did keep the big halibut we caught and Ben prepared it for cooking. I had such a great time and highly recommend this charter. The views were awesome.

We had a trip booked for this Sunday at 6am. We received confirmation from them. Today, Friday, at 10 pm, they call us and tell us that our trip got cancelled. I flew from DC just for this. This was for a birthday surprise and we had the licenses, hotel booked etc. this is absolutely inadmissible and I am aware that they usually do this. If you don’t want a last minute cancellation do not book with these guys. That is why they don’t charge you in advance, so that they have the flexibility to cancel if they get something better.

Steve is one of the most knowledgeable charter boat captains in Northern Ca and a great guy and Sportsman to boot ! He will find you fish and provide an enjoyable trip no matter whether you are a seasoned veteran or a first time rookie. He is always willing to provide advise and knowledge to make your experience a success.

Captain Steve is very experienced and knowledgeable. He makes the trip well worth it for beginners like myself or professional fishermen. I definitely recommend these guys if you’re looking for a unique fishing experience in the San Francisco area.

We did our annual father-son San Francisco fishing trip with Captain Charles and deckhand Ben yesterday 6/17/20. These guys are (as usual) FANTASTIC! MANY rock fish, striped bass, halibut, & one amazing lingcod. Captain Charles always know where the fish are and Ben is THE BEST deckhand in the business. Hes so patient with the kids... Always teaching and showing these kids what fishing is all about with a smile. Cant wait for our next trip.

Captain Charles and Ben were great. Got to meet Leo and Eric as well. They took care of my girlfriend and I really well. Lots of laughs and lots of fish. Caught some nice lingcod and rockfish for sure.

Captain Melinda and deck hand Yanos were amazing. I had my two sons with me on this trip, 16 and 12. With out Yanos help I don’t think they would have fished! Both captain and deckhand put us on the fish and my boys had a blast! Thank you so much for putting in the effort! I can’t wait to come back again!

My gf booked a trip for us as a gift and it was an amazing experience. We had amazing views of the city, golden gate bridge, and the fish were biting. Everyone caught and we took home a ton of filleted / cleaned fish. Made ceviche and pan fried some. Highly recommended for couples and small groups (6) - also it’s safe to say my gf is hooked!

I fished with Steve a couple of weeks ago for striper and halibut. I have fished with charters from Alaska to Costa Rica, and I have to say that Captain Steve is among the best. We caught some great fish, but even more important for us, it was a great experience. Steve went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and he stayed for a couple of extra drifts after our time was over because the bite was still on. He was genuinely interested in our experience that day. I appreciate such individual attention. If you want a fishing experience for family that will leave everyone happy, then I would go with Steve.

Steve is the man ! We had a blast out on the boat and caught way more than we expected to. They were all super knowledgeable and brought us to the best spots where we slayed sharks for hours. Captain Steve was great. He made sure we understood how Sturgeon fishing usually goes (slow) before we booked. He knew where the fish would be and took the time graphing to make sure we were on the best looking spot. When tides and currents change we moved spots to make sure we stayed on good fishing. My dad caught a 60 incher in the first 40 min and I caught a nice keeper. We put one other small Sturgeon in the boat and missed a few good bites. All and all, it was a great trip and Captain Steve was awesome to fish with. Top two best guided fishing trips I have ever been on.

From beginning to end Capt. Joe and Lucas where fantastic. Capt. Joe kept us where we needed to be for the best fish and Lucas was hands down the best deck hand we have ever fished with. He was great W/ my 13 year old and was 1 step ahead of everyone on the boat. Thanks for the GREAT experience!

What an incredible day of fishing. I am an avid Florida fisherman, but when it comes to fishing San Fransisco I need a charter that sets me up for success. I contacted Captain Steve of Flash Fishing. I had been on his boat before and netted my first Halibut. This time we were fishing for the prize, ... slot sized sturgeon.Right out of the gate, Captain Steve made sure we had everything we would need to be successful. He made sure we had our sturgeon card and all documentation we would need for the trip. He texted me perfect directions to the boat, let me know what was on the boat and what i might want to bring.As soon as we got onto the boat, Steve went over all of the safety instructions and let us know where all of the emergency items were located.We headed out and got to the spot.Captain Steve and Justin rigged up the poles with their super secrete sturgeon bait and set them out in a perfect spread. There was almost no wind so you could see any movement in the top of the pole. The weather was perfect!In just a short time we were hooked up with with our first sturgeon. The first one was not a keeper, so photos were taken (Captain Steve and Justin take incredible photos - thanks).Next, I hooked up with a monster fish!! 56 inches of sturgeon put up a fight that was worth the wait! Sturgeon fishing is not for the impatient or faint of heart.After that, the tide changed to outgoing and the boat hooked a slightly smaller 54 inch slot size sturgeon caught by the other guest on the boat.If you’re looking for the best charter in San Fransisco or Martinez (Martinez is where their other boat was docked on this trip), look no further than Flash Sport Fishing. My husband and I went out for our anniversary. I had never fished before. How awesome is it for your first fish to be a leopard shark?! The guys were great! They knew exactly where the fish were biting! I let them know that I wanted to try and catch a striper (we already caught a ton of shark), so they showed me how. Low and behold, I caught one! They easily deserve five stars! My husband and I will definitely use them again!

Best fishing charter Ive ever been on great crew!

Extremely friendly from the first moment I called until I was off the boat with limits of fish. Captain Joe was incredible!!!! He knew where the fish were and how to get us on them so we caught tons of fish each drift before repositioning the boat. By 10:30 we had limits of rock fish and over half a dozen lingcod. He asked us what we wanted to do next-we said halibut...he found the halibut. He definitely knows what he is doing! Never had a crew so helpful. Will definitely visit them next time Im in the Bay Area!!!

First of all. Make sure you take notes when talking to them on the phone and ask for everything in writing. I was told it was $950.00 for a private charter we leave when we want and come back when we want as long as its 6:00am-4:00pm. That sounded great, they even told be its cheaper if you do that since there is 6 of us and it would be $158 per person their words because normally its $175.00. When we got there the price all the sudden jumped to $1450.00 when I argued that they dropped it to $1200.00 knowing that we just drove for 2 hours and have no choice. This was our first time out ocean fishing. The whole group has been fishing the rivers and lakes for years, yet this trip we all felt like little kids because the Capitan does everything for you, meaning he puts the bait on and casts and you just wait and hope a fish bites, otherwise you dont touch the rod all day like some of us didnt. That was not fun for us. In a way you are paying them to fish for you. We did end up catching a salmon that day and I went to grab the net to help bring the fish up and even that wasnt ok. He had to do that too. We werent fishing we were just watching and paying a very expensive boat ride. So I wouldnt recommend this kind of ocean fishing to anyone who wants to fish. Otherwise its great if you dont mind just riding on the boat all day and not doing anything. But trust me the first few hours are all exiting and than your spinning in circles all day until you head back to shore. Call around and find out who lets you fish and who does the fishing for you. Those are two very different things if you are a fisherman.
