About 10 years ago, my family took me to Peter as a birthday present for my first ever bespoke suit. I was young, and didnt know much, but Peter was extremely patient and kind as we talked about the suit. He was extremely helpful and in the end the suit looked great and fit perfectly. To this day, its still one of my best suits. Now I make it a point to try and visit the store each time Im in downtown San Francisco. 100% would recommend.

I have been having my clothing tailored here for 19 years - since 1999 when I brought in a CH ballgown that needed to be turned around in a week - done beautifully then and have been back hundreds of times. From taking in jackets (hard) to creating a custom pencil skirt for me from a concept I had (I get compliments on it every day) SF Tailors has always gotten it right. Nothing looks worse on an executive than ill fitting clothing. I dont even try things on in the shop now when they have tailored them as 99.9% of the time it will be right and I know it. Heading there today to drop off another top that needs major tailoring. I am a swimmer and so its hard to accommodate a lean frame with muscular arms and legs - they get it right every time.

I recommend this place without any conditions. I walked in to have new pants tailored. I walked out in 15min with perfectly fitted pants. Great service at reasonable pricing. Location is right off Union Square. So if you get a new suit at MAcys or Saks next door and need some adjustments, that is the place to go.

Excellent quality work and fabrics that you just can’t get anywhere else. I ve tried tailored shirts in other countries - like China and Vietnam - that allegedly offer similar quality at much lower prices but the result was definitely not the same.I have a very skinny but tall body, but Peter tailored shirts tat fitted absolutely perfectly.Try Peter, you might pay a little bit more but the results are outstanding.

Im pretty sure this is the right place, youll see a small street sign, walk into a lobby, up one floor in a tiny lift. Always busy, always does a great job (the button for the lift to get back down is behind the door).

Peter has always given me excellent service. Nice to support a mom-n-pop operation in an era of chain stores. I prefer a straight shooter over a slick talker any day. When I got home the first time my wife liked my jacket and said dont go anywhere else.

Ordered custom suit, took twice as long to receive than promised. Order did not match many specs, greatest of which are that the jacket was 4 inches too small at the waist & chest was many sizes smaller than indicated. To appease the vendor, I went to 2 tailors to confirm measurements given. SF offered to make a new jacket for $75. We inflated the chest & waist measurements a little for good measure & waited. 2nd jacket came even smaller than the first. And the lining had stitch holes in the middle of the jacket where it had been reused. Also the lining was not completely sewn in [large separation in the middle of the jacket w/ threads hanging. I had been very accommodating & patient through the process. My last email to notify the vendor of the problems was unanswered. Then I followed up again to received an undeliverable message from their email address. It looks like they got me good.

I must have caught the husband on the wrong day but simply called to see if the shop could taper a pair of jeans and the man said yes we can and I asked what the rough estimate of price would be like any other conscious shopper. The husband lost it on me when I contested the rate of 100 dollars saying I have no clue what I’m talking about, I don’t know anything about running a business and that is the normal price. He continued to say don’t come here if you don’t like our price.. getting the taper done by a professional for 45 that doesn’t add the nice flare of anger. You are in a service industry! Act like an adult!

Very rude. Traveling on business. Needed buttons on a suit vest moved over. Lady wanted $50 to move the buttons. Was extremely rude. Costs $8 in downtown Los Angeles. Would go somewhere else if I were you.
