Angel has been cutting my hair for almost 15 years, and he is undeniably the best barber Ive ever had. Fast when he needs to be, leisure speed when he can be, but always the same excellent results. Ive been bugging him for years to start his own shop... and was thrilled for him when he opened Castro Barber Lounge. Its a great shop - wonderful vibe - clean, safe, friendly, Castro the pooch is sweet.

Absolutely amazing barbershop. Stopped in without an appointment walking up market Street.Best covid-19 safety I have experienced since the beginning of the pandemic. You sign in for contact tracing, you get your temperature taken, and you swear in writing that you are healthy.The haircut was perfect. It was exactly what I wanted. The barber could not have been more professional and friendly.The barbershop is bright and clean and upbeat.There was even a puppy.Im just sorry I only discovered this place last weekend. I will definitely be getting it my haircuts here in the future.

Okay, so a couple of days ago I had a nightmare experience with a barber and I made an appointment here with some nervousness. I can say with full honesty that Adora has in fact restored my faith in barbers AND earned themselves a new forever client. Not to mention an adorable shop pup will greet you at the door and show you a ton of love! Castro certainly sets the tone in the right ways. It’s a great location, and he’s put a ton of work/thought into the space. I’m excited to watch it’s success.They started doing outdoor cuts 9/2/20 and have an incredible backyard patio/garden setup.

Angel is a great barber - I even took my son to him for his first haircut and were both still going 7y later - the shop is excellent and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

Great barbers, reasonable prices, i like Ernesto but all the barbers seem very good.

I wasnt able to make it to my normal barber (whom I still love). I found this place on Google Maps and was able to book an appointment online same day. Kermit was great. Professional and took great attention to detail. One of those cuts where I thought he was done and then he took 10 more minutes with a few more instruments before finishing and it looked all the better for it. The best new barber shop in the Castro! They take both walk ins and appointments. During the pandemic, appointments are recommended. The prices are very reasonable and in line with their competitors.The staff is friendly and accommodating. I loved the upbeat music. The theme is fun and very LGBT friendly. They prefer cash but also take Venmo.During the pandemic they are limiting customers, masks are mandatory, they offer hand sanitizer, they take your temp, and you sign a waiver. During the haircut they use a disposable cape and sanitize often. They just built an outside seating area. If you want you can request a haircut on the back patio.I can’t say enough about Castro Barber Lounge. They are my new regular place for haircuts.

Great experience... so gratifying to finally get a haircut. I was really impressed with the outdoor setup. Angel was hospitable, professional, & honest with his styling recommendations. The entire staff made everyone feel comfortable and safe with the precautions they were taking in handling/cleaning equipment, using PPE, managing appointments, etc..Ask for a business card! They’re super practical :)

Best new barber shop in town. I showed up early and was seated early for my haircut . Angel always does a great job and you can trust him to style your hair even if you arent entirely sure of what you want yourself. On top of that everyone is friendly and they were all following all the COVID-19 guidelines without fuss or compromise.
