Very interesting barbershop...We had a 30 min conversation about Michelle Obamas gender and he showed us some videos saying she was a heThe haircut was OK, a little bit old fashioned and not exactly what we have asked for. I think when you go there multiple times he will know exactly what you want and is able to repeate the haircut every timeWas nice meeting you Jim
Unique barber shop. Old fashioned shop. I have been going there for years. Nothing fancy just a great haircut with stories.
Both times Ive gone here Ive left with a better haircut than Ive gotten anywhere else before. Jims a genuinely nice guy, even if some people find his sense of humor abrasive at first.Me: Ya, Im CanadianHim: Oh, I hate CanadiansDont take his jokes too seriously. :)
This barber was the original from the barber shop by rossies but now you get him exclusively right at home youll feel face it you and youre hair style are over50 stick with what works
First and foremost, Jim is a great barber! The best haircut Ive ever had, bar none; wears well even as it grows out. He is a bit of a character which could be a bit intimidating for some, but this aint supercuts... get over it. Excellent shop, great price for a great cut - what else could you want!?!
I just had one of the best haircuts ever. Jim is a no nonsense barber, and pays attention to smaller details. And his haircut comes with great funny conversations! And he refuses to take tip from students :) I am glad I visited his shop- at first I thought I came to a wrong place and was almost ready to leave.
Jims definitely a gem from a by-gone era. If you can stomach the Big Fish-esque storytelling, the guy cuts good hair. Cash only. 9/10.
Jim is a nice guy but he just gave me the worst haircut Ive ever received. Maybe he is good with short fades, but he just cut my long hair incredibly uneven and will take a year to grow back. Currently sitting in a chair at another shop to get me looking somewhat normal.
The best barber shop in the known universe! Jim really knows his stuff. The place has a very homey and easy going vibe to it. I always feel like a million bucks when I walk out his door. A real san francisco institution.
Just called to ask for a price and whoever answered was pretty rude. Didnt say their name or even identify that I had called the right number, just hello. So I asked what their prices were and I got what do you think as a response. So I say I dunno, its just short hair. He says Come on. I dont play on the phone. He said that a couple times. Finally said the prices are $20 or $25 and then hung up on me.F-that. I had a 60 second phone interaction and have no desire to give this place my money.
Jim salvaged what had to be the worst hair cut I have ever had. He took my dismal mop and shaped it into a model worthy hairdo. More impressive still considering I was laughing from the great conversation. I will be back!
Call ahead- no waiting- great haircut - definitely not a ‘supercut’ experience - a unique SF barber- I go here once a month
The WORST haircut I have ever received. Extremely uneven, the top left of my temple ended up way shorter than the right and an uneven cut over the front. Had to go home and clean it up myself and may end up having to pay for another cut someplace else in a week just to fix this mess. Do not go, the place is a mess on the interior and the barber is crass, vulgar and casually racist.
Very good haircut
