Sold my 560sl rapidly to a buyer in Vienna, Austria. Never would have gotten the exposure and price in a more traditional auction format. Would definitely sell another car using this service. BAT has a culture of accountability and unfiltered communication. Sellers need to step up and answer all questions clearly and quickly without being defensive, even if the question is out of left field or seemingly inappropriate. I had previously shared glowing comments with this online vehicle sales auction site, based upon my personal Bring A Trailer sales experience. That was over four months ago, so I was surprised to receive a request I “publish” my comments a few days ago.I’ll be honest; I was apprehensive in not being allowed to set a reserve on my owned-since-new, 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. I feared the mileage (146K on the clock) would overshadow this creampuff’s condition and tasteful modifications. I assembled the photos and requested documentation in hopes of optimizing my results, waiting less than two weeks for the online auction to open.That same financial apprehension lingered the first four or five days, but I provided additional photos and commentary - both online and privately, as appropriate. I sold my dads 86 porsche 944 on bring a trailer. I believe I got a great price compared to a private sale. You will find the right buyers at that site. Only complaint is that it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to get your car listed but thats because every car gets a personal sales rep who guides you through the process and writes up your ad.

The advisor was very helpful assisting me with my pictures and videos. He did an excellent job with the description. I was way more than happy with the sale results and dealings with the buyer.

What a great idea BAT is. I used to take cars that I had for sale to the big auctions but not any more With BAT you skip all of the expense and time you spend not only going to the auctions to sell but shipping the car, hotels and travel and the big commission expenses if by chance you were able to sell your car. As the BAT team crafts your messaging about your car you get a final look in order to change, add or delete information that needs it until its an exact compilation of facts and pictures. Plenty of information for a buyer and the buyer can ask you direct questions for any clarification. Its great for all involved. I am very happy with BAT and plan to sell more and buy a few also. Its a great platform...if your a buyer or a seller I highly highly recommend BAT

I as a seller, was very impressed with their thoroughness in preparing the seller for the Auction. The picture process was very detailed and impressive. Great place to sell a unique automobile or anything automobile related, really any neat thing with an engine can be found there. I had a relatively rare and old Porsche 911 that was difficult to value. BaT got the right eyes on it and lots of exposure in the enthusiast community. I was able to sell it at a fair price and couldnt have been happier with the experience.

Great experience and the perfect website for selling a car! The interaction with the bidders, or others, with questions for me, or just fun comments was enjoyable. This site allows a Seller to add 100’s of photos, multiple videos, and BaT staff help create the add. Sellers Fees are extremely competitive and with it being a global presence website, it brings 1,000’s to your add / auction. There is even a soft close so that everyone has time to make another last moment bid. I could not have been any happier with the results and will sell, or buy there again. I go there daily and add favorites to watch. Great place to track the market and have fun doing it.

Good overall experience. The process to get your auction vehicle listed is laborious and takes time with back and forth emails to clarify the listing. BaT does their level best to convince you to either not set a reserve, or set it lower to ensure a sale. Given the luck of the auction process, my vehicle sold for far less than a similar comparison, but slightly above my reserve price. It resulted in a great deal for the buyer and an okay deal for me. That said, I will use BaT again, but expectations will be adjusted and I will hold my reserve price to improve the win/win

Ive sold three vehicles through Bring A Trailer, and the experience is similar to selling a car through a high-end auto auction, but it only costs $99! An assistant helps you get the photos and text together for the best possible sale result, and your vehicle has a week on the auction site. One really cool feature is that any last-minute bid extends the auction by a few minutes, so no one can snipe a low price at the last second.

Last fall, I sold my classic Triumph Stag on Bring a Trailer. I chose this venue for several reasons. (1) I wanted to engage with potential buyers because it was super important to me that the next owner of my car would have a good experience with it. Triumph Stags are not exactly easy cars to own, and some potential buyers might not be a good fit. (2) I wanted unlimited space and pictures in which to display and describe my car. The more information I could get out there, the better. (3) I wanted a smooth transaction that would eliminate the shill bidders, buyers who dont complete transactions and just basic timewasters. (4) I wanted to get what I considered to be a fair price for my car.BAT delivered on all of my requirements, and in fact exceeded my expectations. Not only was the selling process stress-free, it was actually fun. I found Andy, the BAT auction manager, to be knowledgeable about my car, responsive to questions, thoughtful, helpful and good to work with.The highest compliment I can give any business is to be a repeat customer. They must be backed up, because it took a long time to actually list the auction, not like eBay, which is instantly. The $100 listing fee is fair and I believe they do some advertising online. My listing reached the reserve, but I was a little disappointed it didnt go higher. The assistant, Jeff, who B.A.T. assigned to my auction, was excellent and very helpful. The B.A.T. community of bidders are very knowledgeable and be prepared to be asked very detailed questions about your vehicle and prepare it, from the undercarriage up, so that it is presentable. The more info you have, the better! Probably the most respected do it yourself auction site and many feel you can find good deals on it. Buyers pay a 10% fee on top of their winning bid. The difference in a brick and mortar auction, is you have to bring the vehicle to their site, pay a much higher entrance fee with no guarantee the vehicle will sell. Certain vehicles might sell for more money in these type of brand name auctions however, often in conjunction with a popular car concours.

When it comes to selling cars on bring a trailer, it’s quite easily the most effective way to maximize the outcome, and final sale price of a vehicle.Now it’s absolutely critical, that the vehicle to be listed on bring a trailer big detail very well, it’s very important to make sure and pull out all of the flaws, scratches, and any issues. Transparency is absolutely part of the fabric of BAT. Now if you do all of these things, and have a car or truck or SUV, which is not exactly boring or normal, and participate throughout the entire auction, the chances are you’ll see an outstanding outcome. You’ll also become an addict like me!

Just sold my Mercedes CL600 on BAT and it was so easy. I took my own photos, uploaded them to their site, a few days later i was told the vehicle was accepted and they recommended a reserve. A week later the car sold for 25% above the BAT recommended reserve. The next day the buyer called and wired the money within 24 hours. The whole process was so easy that i plan to see other cars i own on BAT too.

My experience selling a vehicle was great as I am a reputable seller and want the person that purchases my vehicle to love it as much as I did. I give my selling experience a 5 star.I also purchased a vehicle on BAT and on that one I would give it a ZERO stars. Received vehicle and it was according to 2 mechanics I took it to, Grossly Misrepresented! BAT agreed with me and gave my purchasing fee back, but did not pressure the seller (who is a company and not an individual) to take the vehicle back. Long story short I had to sue to make the company take the vehicle and give my money back. BAT let this guy/company sell 3 vehicles while I was suing him even though they agreed he had committed fraud against me.Lessons learned1) only buy from individuals and not companies on BAT as the companies are only interested in flipping vehicles.2) If possible always go and see the vehicle if you are close enough.3) beware the seller who has multiple accounts and makes comments and tries to bid you up with fake accounts. Looking back on it and reading comments from other people that feel this is going on it probably was happening

Formatting, documenting, writing, selling …all parts were smooth and easy to navigate. However, the shipping aspect was very frustrating. Clearly, this is out of the control of BAT if the buyer chooses their shipper because this simply gets bid out. However, despite the promise of close communication I twice had a shipper show up to my house unannounced by either themselves or BAT. Ultimately, the process commenced without complication (regarding the vehicle and timely delivery), however this certainly served to delay the vehicle’s departure as well as cause quite a bit of confusion on my (the seller’s) end.

I work for the BMW CCA Foundation Museum here in Greer, SC. We listed a car on BaT that had been part of our Museum collection. As our collection grows, this tribute BMW E30 M3 clone car was not needed anymore. We elected to sell it on BaT. The experience was good. To our surprise, a German won the car and had it shipped back to Europe. BaT helped us through the whole process. Thank you BaT. When we need to sell another car, we will be back.

Bring A Trailer has incredible software that makes submitting the auction info and photos a snap. I does take nearly 30 days to get listed. They are trying to hire more auction writers. My auction writer Chris was superb in every way. The auction itself was exciting and I sold my vehicle for 95% of what I was hoping to get.

Great auction. BaT has really got their act together for Online Auctions of specialty cars. We sold a 1963 Corvette Split window. Mark was the BaT point man and made things go smoothly. Have used BaT before and actually I am putting up another car to be auctioned in a few days.

He’s the deal, I had a extremely clean 2 owner SL AMG 63. Before the sale a local MB dealer offered me 30k on a trade on a new car. Research showed the car was worth 39k to 42k. That included NADA, KBB,Hemmings, and BAT previous sales. I would have been please with those figures. It sold for 54k because extremely nice cars are rewarded on BAT. The biding process allows those cars value by contacting the real owner not a dealer moving iron. The good guys rarely win but in my case I did.

I am quite happy with the whole process of selling an exotic car through BaT, and dont know of anything that could have been done smoother or better. My Eddie FourFather Hill auction of our 10-mile 2019 Ford GT had 92,969 views, as of a few minutes ago, and still getting views well after the close of the auction. And 3,128 watching- that is excellent exposure.Yep, they do it right!

Several years ago, after my Uncle’s death, I was engaged by his daughter to sell his classic car collection of 14 cars. My first choice on some of the cars was to turn to Bring a Trailer. I sold my 1959 Morgan classic sports car on Bring a Trailer. They are very careful about which cars they accept, and seem to have a big following of interested car people. They guided me through the process of documenting and photographing my car. They took care to review the documents which proved my ownership, and assigned an auction specialist to get the most professional description possible. The resulting auction and the helpful comments by bidders and other enthusiasts added to the over all presentation. The auction was very successful, and the winning bidder was easy to work with. They vet the vehicles being sold and take the time to put together an amazing description of your vehicle.I sold my 1998 RR p38 w 54k miles closing at 43k usd. The night before the final auction day the auction was at 25k usd. It was a great experience and a lot of fun to see such a beautiful and well kept RR sell for a great number.I think that auction brought the value up in the RR p38. The P38’s seemed to get passed around and therefor finding one in near perfect condition is rare.

The community around Bring A Trailer is what makes it special, the comments section of each advertisement is where the gold is. People share their expertise and experiences with vehicles and it results in excellent dialogue about the auction. I very much like the traditional auction style where there is no buy it now option, you know when the hammer is going to fall. Its also wonderful that they have the auction setup to prevent end of time sniping, last minute bids add two minutes to the countdown clock to allow people to continue to bid.My only complaint is that the time it takes Bring a Trailer to process new ads for sale is quite variable and can leave sellers hanging, wondering if their ad is being worked on. My experiences with the writers though are all very positive, they do good work.

Really good experience selling my Porsche. I follow the Bring A Trailer auctions daily looking at cars, but was not sure how it would work if I decided to sell a car of my own but decided to give it a try. A friend of my adult children told me about bring a trailer. It sounded too good to be true, and I am not tech savvy so I was quite reluctant. The more I found out after talking to this person the more I like the idea. Since I was selling a classic car, I really wanted to avoid having people come by my house and take the car for a joyride, and haggling over everything!For someone like me that is a business owner, and my time is money, this was one of the best choices I’ve made in selling a car ever. I really enjoyed not having to talk to all the potential buyers with all the endless questions etc. It was nice to let them put their money where their mouth is and bid on the car if they were serious about it. The process was seamless and I highly recommend it to anyone.

BaT is the “go to” way to sell your prized possession. They were very thorough in the listing details and photo requests. I knew it had a large clientele following. I was pleasantly surprised on the bidding activity and final selling price going higher than I expected. Was also amazed the high bidder was in France (long way from Texas). All in all BaT was simple to utilize and was a “home run”.

It took a while to get the auction up but everything takes longer these days. The rep assigned was thorough and very helpful. I was pleased with the final price and will certainly use BaT again if opportunity should arise.
