While I did not stay at the hotel, I felt it necessary to write a review and give credit where credit is due! Jay at the hotel front desk was incredible. My husband stayed at the hotel and I was unable to travel with him from Canada. During my husbands stay it was our anniversary and after a call with Jay we came up with a game plan for something to be sent to his room to enjoy along with a sweet card! Truly, can not thank this staffer enough for his support and assistance in making our long-distance anniversary that much better!

Staff was amazing and accommodating with our tired little family late at night to get us a room. The room was no frills and very clean. The bed felt like heaven. Couldnt figure out how to navigate the AC but then realized the thermostat controlled it. Nice pool and gym that we didnt get to use. The neighborhood was very safe. Will stay again for sure!

This is a somewhat older courtyard. The staff was extremely friendly.We stayed on the 3rd floor.which had an odd odor both in the hallway and in the room itself. It wasnt overbearing, but someone who is sensitive to odors may want to try a different floor

The Courtyards are consistently solid. This ones in a bit of an odd location, but my experience was good (as always).

The young man that checked us in was great definitely felt welcomed. The room was pretty big and spacious. Clean everything worked. We went down to the pool it was great they have a cute fireplace right in the middle that was nice and cozy. Plenty of seating. Beds were comfortable and clean. Overall satisfied with our stay definitely recommend.

The rooms were nice comfortable but I think continental breakfast should have been included as well or what do you serve breakfast burrito LOL

We had originally gone to another hotel that ended up being DISGUSTING! So we found this Courtyard. The staff were soo nice and helpful. They gave us half off on parking because we’d had a rough night switching hotels. Will definitely stay there again!!

Average hotel stay... parking is $14 a night. Restaurant food for evenings is only Friday and Saturday nights. Plenty of restaurants in the area to enjoy. They only clean your room if you request it...I stayed there 10 nights and my room only got cleaned once...I would have liked it to be cleaned more.

Woke up with a bed bug on me. Its been plus two weeks and no refund. At one point I was offered a 25 percent refund, then they just stopped replying to my emails.Im not a rude person by nature. But it was 300+ bucks for one night and I had a bed bug on the comforter, but across my lap at 2 am. Not how you want to wake up for a bathroom break. We left right away.Also any food options here are a joke. Too bad, place seemed nice otherwise.Squished bed bug picture, because no, my instinct wasnt to take a picture of it alive for a review or proof purposes later. Managers card who never called me, and Ive interacted only with an assistant manager.

I will tell you some thing that online travel agents dont want you to know. When booking resorts use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They have the best deals on hotels! Well my room was in earshot of about everything. Literally every car on the busy road rang Loud and clear. The room next to mine has a door that would could conjoin with mine if purchased together and the person in that room I hear his TV very perfectly.... all night. Whoever it is either sleeps with the TV on like a champ or doesnt sleep which is problematic because I have to be up at 330.Anyone going down the hallway. Anyone opening a slider. Literally everything is loud. If your a light sleeper I strongly recommend you stay away.Also there was a huge hole in the seat of the couch. They Couldnt even flip it over to try and hide it. This was much less of a problem than sleep but it just kinda helps show what they are about

Stayed here several times while traveling for work. They charge a ridiculous rate for parking as if the hotel was downtown but half the (large) parking lot is always empty. And the real reason Im posting this negative review is because Im stuck in this average room on a Tuesday night and cant stream Netflix because even the enhanced wifi is garbage, so Ive got nothing better to do. Last time staying at this particular Courtyard for me.

It was nice. Clean. There was no microwave in the room but there was a refrigerator. Quite a few places to shop and eat near the hotel.

Very modern. Rooms could use some new furniture maybe. Pool is huge for a hotel. Would def stay again.

The nightstands, desks, the tv stand, everything was FILTHY. I wiped them all off and they all were super dirty and black from the dust! it was disgusting and disappointing. Who knows what else they dont clean, since that was just the counters. The receptionist, was rude and didnt explain well at all when we had a question about the payment. The lady who was there when we left was super nice however. And the location was a great distance from everything. However, I wouldnt stay here again, dirty and bad service. Also, parking is an extra 14 bucks.

The front desk was accommodating & friendly. Due to covid...the Cafe & bar were closed....the rooms were ok, served my purpose. The grounds were pretty.

Easy accessibility. I have booked a family room which has a queen bed and one sofa bed which was reasonable sized room. Restroom is specious and clean. Rooms were clean and neat. There was a mini bar refrigerator inside the room but it has an annoying feature where every 2 hours you have to press a button to keep it works. This has to work continuesly so the guests has no problem of keeping their drinks chilled. Also there are no socket out lets inside the restroom. Therefore if you wanna use a rasor any other electric equipment inside the restroom is not possible. Breakfast was very basic.Moderate pricing. You will be charged $14 for eachday of parking.

Not my best experience, mostly due to the staff. First, I enjoyed the room and the general vibe of the building, the grounds are nice. The staff pushed me away to the point when, next time I go to San Diego, I wont be coming here. I was treated like I was a customer at a fast food restaurant, not a guest at a hotel. There was no tv remote in my room, and when I asked for one it took a half hour for them to bring me one. Take note of this next time youre looking for a hotel. I do not recommend.

Covid has impacted operations but it seems like the employees are now using it as a crutch. I stay here every week nearly while working at a local hospital. Sometimes toiletries are forgotten. I was told they will tidy up the room after the 3rd day but that hasnt happened in my last 2 visits. Still a nice hotel but they are slipping in service level.

Positive: The best thing about the hotel would be the staff. They were friendly and helped with my concerns. Negative: I brought up my concern to the hotel staff about the bathroom door being off the hinge.the most concerning part was the bathroom tub not being clean. There was a hair in the tub and the shower curtain lining was visibly dirty. And an empty shampoo bottle.

The location was good, The room, hotel and pool area were nice and clean. Very friendly front desk. Gave us more blankets and pillows and a roll out bed at no extra charge. Free coffee in room but if you want Starbucks coffee you have to pay $3.00. The room was clean and the bed were comfortable.However, the suite had no balcony which was disappointing and our room smells like an ashtray and they said it was a non smoke room??? So i am guessing the cigarettes smell is embedded into the walls??? not sure... There was no signs of cigarettes stains just the to smell was pretty strong. And you cant open the windows very much because theres a security lock so you only have the AC available which circulated the cigarette smell. We were already unpacked when we discovered that we couldnt open the windows to air out room and didnt want to relocate since we were only staying for one night and were planing on leaving early in the morning. The Restaurant and bar are closed because of the pandemic. Oh and parking in $14.

Sad to see such a wonderful hotel deteriorate so much recently. When we checked in for two nights, the rear entrance door would not automatically latch, causing us concern for security. Additionally, mud was on the entrance floor but it hadnt rained in San Diego in weeks. It was still there two days later. There were items of trash on the floor of the elevator/ice machine floor during our two night stay. While concessions must be made for Covid-19 issues, there is no excuse for the inattention we observed. I blame it solely on management. Finally, I called the front desk in the morning shortly after we checked out to see if two items had been turned in to lost and found. The clerk (L**a), said she would check and call me back. When she hadnt called back six hours later I called another clerk who passed on my request to L**a standing next to him. She again said would check and call me right back. That was 3 days ago. No call back. Needless to say we wont be returning.

The people working there are super friendly! They will call you to ask if you need anything even if youre just there for a night! I keep going back because I love staying there!! The rooms are spacious and just so comfortable!! Thank you!!

What does it take to get one star? For starters an aggressively rude front desk manager. I called the Marriot to Express my displeasure and was sent a generic my bad response via email. My question to the Marriott is why are there only responses to the positive reviews here? Why are there no responses to extremely disappointed guests when an issue needs to be addressed? If my issue head been addressed properly or perhaps acknowledged I wouldnt have left this review. Any questions?

I cannot say enough nice things about my stay here the past few days. Jay and his team went above and beyond to make sure that our experience felt both very safe and very comfortable. I cannot really imagine what hospitality professionals have had to endure through the past few months of this world crisis. It’s very evident that Jay and his team are still standing very strong. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. The property is clean, relaxing, quiet, and has so many great amenities. The beds are comfortable and I really enjoyed the internet TV which allowed me to watch Youtube and Netflix. The staff is very nice and helpful. The fitness center has great options. The bar, happy hour and food selections are good. I didnt eat breakfast, but I did pass by to take a look and everyones plate looked amazing. A must stay hotel!

Negative: Did Not like the fact that I requested a room with a king bed and pullout sofa then was given a handicap accessible room

Checked in and they gave us a king size bed instead of 2 queens, We didnt complain. That night we found a huge tick in our room, didn’t complain again. When we went to pull out the pull out bed from the couch it had dead spiders and was very dirty. It was a very uncomfortable night. I complained at checkout the next day and all they did was cover my $14 dollar parking. Never again will we stay here. I’ve written multiple emails and Im just getting the run around or no response.

Great bar experience

Positive: The location was great - everything was 15 minutes away. The staff were nice. The pool, the one time in three days I got to use it due to their Covid pool reservation policy, was good. Negative: It was dingy in the public areas. Carpets looked worn, walls looked dirty, the elevator was shared with the cleaning staff. Surprisingly depressing for a Marriott property. Not being able to use the pool whenever I wanted was a huge negative.

The place was quiet and very comfortable for the night.

We stay at this Marriott Courtyard hotel for three nights using annual 25,000 certificate from Marriott Reward Premier Cars. This category 4 level hotel is well appointed, clean and comfortable. It has a great pool and hot tub for all to enjoy. It is staffed with friendly and polite check-in and maintenance personnel. Laundry machine on each floor is very convenient. Late night room service dessert tasted great ! (Brownie and Apple Pie). Happy hour drinks are $5 on Monday - Friday. I recommend this hotel and the staff. Great for a short stay with kids.

The only reason why this gets two stars is because the hostess was very nice otherwise no the first room they stuck us in the bathtubb had water still in it and it didnt look cleaned the next room they put us in we woke up to blond hair in our bed and some one elses hair on the floor the air conditioner unit was leaking on to the rugg leaving a big wet spot by the patio

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff we encountered were all super friendly, professional, and efficient. Our room was very clean and spacious. The grounds are exceptionally well maintained. The location was perfect and centrally located. The food at their bistro was delicious.

The AC didnt work and the description of the bathroom was inaccurate. I was almost placed in a room without a balcony after booking one but I was able to relocate to a new room.

Where do I begin?!? The room had a bad odor that never left. The bathroom was not cleaned well. There was an orange-ish, liquid stain on the floor by the toilet. One can assume what it was and that it was old. Apparently housekeeping doesnt clean bathroom floors because it was there when I checked in and 3 days later when I checked out. Not once was it cleaned. Some towels had stains. The soap holders in the shower had residue on them. Who knows how long it had been there? Some of the staff was rude and uninformed. Saturday morning at 8:30ish I went for breakfast which was still sitting out. There was a buffet of food and the room/door was completely open. When I walked in, an employee aggressively ran toward me to say breakfast was over. It was a ton of left food out. She said I could not have any and was ushering me out. Since when does breakfast end at 8:30? What was going to be done with the food? Why was she watching tv in the lobby instead of shutting down the breakfast area? There were plenty of other issues with my stay.

This was a nice place. Me and my grandkids had a blast! The staff was helpful and actually delightful to talk with. The pool was awesome and everything was clean!

Guest room lights need the option to be brighter especially at the vanity/ sink area where grooming takes place. Requested a microwave for the room and received one that had crumbs on it. This is a nice place to stay. I found the location central for my daily buisness. (Down the street). trips to Poway, Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo and not to bad of a ride to and from Vista and Carlsbad. Clean rooms and great food was a nice touch. I liked parking by a door so I could haul my stuff in and out with no problem.Fresh Coffee in the morning is the best start to any day.

Stayed here for our daughter’s softball tournament that was 15 min away... well worth the extra few minutes. Close to the freeway (but can’t hear cars or traffic).Staff! Everybody, the entire time, was kind and polite - they elevated the experience. Folks cleaning in the lobby, front desk, bartenders, all were super nice!Had the breakfast bar/buffet because of the large group - food was basic but always hot, restocked, fresh and tasty ( scrambled eggs, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, meat stuff, Toast, coffee, tea etc). Rooms were spotless and good amount of space for fam of 3. Pool was quite big and area was very clean.Got evening food from bar area - salads were fresh, good portions - we like kale, quinoa and that funky stuff so we were pleased. Overall - exceeded expectations. Not sure how far downtown SD is from here, but it def will stay on our radar and highly recommend.... well done!

Had to stay here during this covid time. They really did their best to make us feel like everything was normal.I love this place and their people! Consistently wonderful customer service, no matter what.

We did not spend much time in the hotel but while we were there we had a few issues. The room could have been cleaner. We requested extra towels and did not receive them. I ordered a burger from the kitchen and it was not fit for human consumption. The texture at first bite did not taste like beef. When I broke it open it was completely raw. I was really upset that they could serve food like this that could potentially make someone sick. Then there was an issue of parking at $14 daily. Our 1st night there we did not have a vehicle but we were charged. I think its absolutely ridiculous that they charge $14 for parking and the spaces are so tight that its impossible to get out your vehicle without tapping the car next to you. The other issue I have with this is there are no other parking options available to be charged $14 daily is outrages.

We had a restful stay, food was excellent. Service was great. Spa and pool clean, big and heated. Nice firepit to have drinks. Great bar and cafe. Rooms.clean and we had a real balcony. We will return!

Soft bed cute room

The place was really awesome for a weeks stay. I was on a business trip and the location was perfect considering it was close to the office but also convenient to go downtown. The Starbucks and the bar was great so was the service. Just one blip was the receipt for my stay. I had requested to email the receipt but they didnt. Will follow up for the same.

My son was checked into Rady’s Children and my wife was staying with him. I needed a place close by and this one was perfect from distance and ease of backing and forth. However that is not why I would stay here again. The hotel and two employees that felt made my stay perfect. They were aware of my basic situation of a child at Rady’s but never asked too detailed questions. They would address me by my name when I would enter lobby making sure if I needed anything. I own a business and if I could I would hire these two young people away from Marriott. It is nice to go to place that understand the kindness in the world and towards other people.

We stayed here for a short trip down to San Diego and our stay was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we had no issues with any of our room amenities. It was a very nice and calm environment which we really appreciated. Would stay again.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting family in the area. While the hotel is located away from the main tourist area it is an excellent choice if you are renting a car while visiting San Diego. All the attractions are within an easy drive. La Jolla is only 15 minutes away, Mission Beach, Sea World Old Town are a relatively short drive away. There is also easy access should you wish to visit further north. I would recommend the wineries in Temecula less than an hour north. Drive south 45 minutes south you will find Imperial Beach, a picturesque beach town. There is also easy access to Mission Trails regional Park with its many walking trails. There are several restaurants in the area and I did notice public transit to downtown across the streetThe hotel has a very nice pool in the courtyard area and lots of free parking

My stay at Courtyard San Diego Central was great! I received quality service from the staff upon arrival. The staff was able to assist me with local restaurants and the best places to visit while in town. The room was clean and the hotel was very peaceful. I ordered breakfast from the cafe and it was great service as well. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great hotel in a peaceful location in San Diego.

I enjoyed my week stay at the Courtyard. It was a home away from home. After a long stressful day of work I came back to a wonderful, comfortable room to relax in a hot shower in front of a TV with my own login to Netflix. A needed break from a stressful day. Due to the whole covid ish Hotels are either expensive or booked. We googled this place and it was the cheapest. For the price the rooms were nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

My partner and I stayed overnight at your Hotel Last week.The reception staff was super friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi connection also worked seamlessly. I also observed that the rooms were very spacious with large comfortable beds. The overall experience was very satisfying. I couldnt ask for more from you! Highly recommended!

The room was good, comfy, clean. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. The bar area seemed nice. Desk service is spotty. And, like every hotel, the lobby marketplace is nothing to be counted on for more than a bag of chips. The location is set in a business park of sorts, there is a small park a few blocks away that is adjacent to many new apartment complexes. Nothing to boast about. But, if you have a one or 2 night stay, get a good rate, have plenty of time away from the hotel, dont need any support from the front desk, and its close to your meetings, this hotel is more than adequate. While I didnt have time to sit by the pool or go to the fitness center, they looked nice.

I stayed here 2 years ago for the convenience of the location and had such a wonderful experience that I stayed again for 12 days and plan to book here again when I return to San Diego. It was a business trip combined with visiting family. Fantastic, very friendly staff and a nice clean hotel!

From customer service over the phone to checkin and out, I had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff there. They were all professional and kind. They also went above and beyond to make sure I was a happy first time guest there which I will definitely return and highly recommend to others.

Stayed one night for a softball tournament. Hotel was easy to find and in a nice location. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean and spacious. Food from the restaurant was great, and happy hour at the bar was a nice surprise.

We booked 4 rooms, 3 on one reservation and 1 on another reservation, during a time when the hotel became completely sold out. We called the hotel to request our rooms be as close as possible and they did everything they could to accommodate us. They happily worked their magic and we had a wonderful stay. We also received great service from all of the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for business, personal, or a family trip! 5 stars!!!

Easy access from the freeway, close to shopping and restaurants. Unexpectedly delicious food in the lobby--they have a Starbucks with food menus for breakfast and happy hour/dinner created by the hotel and cooked in their kitchen. Creative, contemporary, vegetarian and gluten free options, served quickly from a friendly staff.

We stayed in a Prado Suite, their smallest suite at 1,000 sq. ft. Its actually two regular hotel rooms with a large double-doorway providing flow between the bedroom and the sitting room areas. The double doors are very thick and heavy and can create a sound as well as a visual barrier between the rooms if closed. Because the Prado Suite created from two rooms, there are two complete bathrooms, closets and dressing areas. If having two bathrooms is important, this is the way to go. We were on the third floor (the top floor and at the same level as the lobby), looking to the northwest through trees and shrubs to the beautiful golf course. A balcony off each room had two comfortable chairs and a table on each balcony for enjoying the fresh air.The facility was created with a high degree of quality designed into the finishes. Wood, marble and tile abound. The bathroom fixtures are gold plated and mirrors have beveled edges. Doors are very thick, solid wood and very heavy. The adjectives that come to mind in describing this property: opulent, luxurious, sumptuous, palatial, lavish, magnificent and grand. If youre looking for understated, it wont be easy to find here.
