Decent Sheraton..Staff are a A+ when it comes to Customer Service.. Its always clean, quiet and well managed.. Rooms could be use a overhaul in terms of more modern furniture and decor..Overall a decent Hotel if you cant find something next to the Ocean, definitely a good alternative..
Positive: Great hotel. Put a sign top of fridge telling how to turn it on. No one expects to pull it completely. Bad design. Parking each room $28. Ridiculous. We had 4 rooms,4 cars. That should be included. Pet charge at pet friendly hotel????
This hotel was amazing! We loved our rooms and the pool. This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was very attentive, kind, and helpful. Great job Sheraton. I will definitely be back. They made my first trip to San Diego a great experience.
Great place to stay!Great room, great view, great pool! Lots of great places to go eat and shop. Very close to the beach and boardwalk . Manager and staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back in the future!
Great place to stay! Midge at the front desk sure made it special for my daughter, by giving her a room key of her own. Exceptional service great people. Food offered was not so great but oh well!
I had a last minute trip and didn’t book anywhere to stay. I was very nervous because typically last minute bookings are ridiculously overpriced, but to my luck I was able to find a room at a reasonable price. The room was very clean and had all of the amenities my family needed. My favorite thing about hotels are the beds, and once again I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire stay. Overall I would recommend and I would stay here again with my family.
Great value, excellent service, very clean, some repairs needed in my room that could not get done during my stay. I had a nice room with balcony which looked out over Mission Valley. Restaurant was pretty good, handy 24 hour shop, on-site laundry and thrilled they sold Diet Coke! Front desk staff was great.
Ok, but disappointing for a premium brand. Lobby and reception staff are outstanding (shoutout to Laura at the front desk). The ADA /handicap room is subpar. The shower is a high-step bathtub (not low/no barrier). The bathroom vanity is tiny, with no room available for toiletries.Room is quiet and clean.
Not LGBQT friendly! Rude customer service. We reserved a room that included a free breakfast but when my gf and I checked in, they refused to honor it and were rude. We will not be returning.
Good clean hotel. Great location. The only thing is to be carful about parking. They charge $28 to park overnight. I stayed 3 nights and only parked in their lot the first night. The other 2 nights I parked in the street for free. The problem came at checkout when they tried to charge me for more nights. Even though I checked twice (2 nights in a row) to make sure that I was only going to be charged 1 night. The problem is that there is no proof, no receipts no anything dispute how many nights you actually used their lot. When I asked the lady how I could avoid this situaron in the future, she said to make sure to get the name of the person I talked to. I don’t why that responsibility falls on the customer. But anyways she adjusted the charges and I went on my way. So just be aware.
Incredible hotel! Very clean and beautifully kept. The staff is professional, courteous, and attentive. Will definitely be coming back.
We loved our stay because of ONE reason…MIDGE!I wish we could say that we stayed at this comfortable hotel for fun and vacay but we didn’t. We have a baby getting cancer treatment nearby.Traveling from out of state with a family of 6 for cancer treatment is incredibly stressful. But all of that seemed to go away when we met Midge at front desk check-in. She was warm, motherly and made us feel hopeful and inspired after sharing that she is a cancer survivor herself.I am tearing as I write this review but I must say thank you to Sheraton Mission Valley for hiring the best front desk team we have ever experienced. Jackie always greeted us by name with a contagious big smile and asked how or baby was doing daily. And Midge blew us away.We leave today with heavy hearts and will forever recommend Sheraton Mission Valley to everyone who visits beautiful San Diego. And if you happen to stay here, please say hello to Midge and Jackie for us.Thank you so so much.
I would recommend this Sheraton if you’re planning on visiting San Diego. It’s conveniently located so you have quick access to the beaches, local restaurants, and both malls. The hotel itself was clean inside and out and reasonably priced. There is a daily parking fee. Our front desk clerk, Johanna, was very welcoming and friendly. If your a gym rat the gym inside the hotel is mostly cardio focused, however they partner with the gym next door to the hotel. Just inform the gym of your stay at the Sheraton and you get to work out for free which is awesome (don’t skip leg day lol).
Hotel was okay. I will say it seemed very clean minus the random items we found in our room (travel perfume, balloon). Also, the bed was not comfortable at all. It was hard and the sheets were rough. Both nights we tossed and turned. The mattresses need to be replaced and the linen. Very disappointed about the bed. Bathroom was clean and plenty of travel size needs for our stay (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Towels were great and soft (seemed new). The hallways were warm - a/c wasnt circulating well. The restaurant was way overpriced and only had about 9 items to choose from. This may be a result of Covid - understandable. Plan to eat elsewhere. Plenty of food choices across the street (freeway) - may have long lines. Busy shopping mall. Overall we wont be staying here again. Too many cons....
Positive: It¿s a little hard to get to all the freeway but the rest is very nice . Plan on staying here again next visit .
Ive stayed two times at this hotel and I want to like it but I cant. My biggest pet peeve is the staff. They are very rude to guests and could care less about your Bonvoy status. I couldnt get checked in until 5 pm even though 4pm is normal check in. No compensation was offered until I was very assertive about the situation. You cannot tell that they really just dont care by the way they communicate with you. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Ive been treated better at Fairfield. Stay at the Marriott nearby instead and you will find the same prices, new rooms and great management. Im appalled at the way they treat guests at this hotel.
Positive: The low price for the day Negative: I think the beds are terrible. I was uncomfortable and sore the next day. No cushion felt like all box spring every movement made a noise I was so very disappointed in the quality of that bed. For that, I will most likely stay away from booking again
It was okay, overly priced for the accommodations and you got to pay for the parking as well (28.00 a night to park in their parking lot), So it adds up quick! Small rooms. Beds we comfortable tho.
For $250 when you add parking a night definitely not worth it. Noisy, tv kept cutting out like they have satellite, (road, doors slamming, and thin walls) rooms are tiny, mold in the shower, wont take cash. Pool was war
Positive: The restaurant has reopened! Negative: It was all good.
Good location and friendly staff. The room was clean and I felt safe.
We stayed here for a long 8 days on our family vacation and we loved it. Its located right across the highway from a major shopping center which was perfect. I also felt well taken care of by the staff. The front desk agent, Naomi, and the manager, Josie, provided wonderful customer service. They both seemed genuinely welcoming and accommodating. They even suggested family oriented beaches and great places for kids. The room was always clean and the towels were well stocked. Parking cost. The pool is open and face masks are required. This was a very pleasant and homey hotel stay. I would recommend this
My family had a great stay! My kids loved the pool. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly.
Poor customer service. Staff did not mention that parking was $28 a day and also failed to mention you could park on the street for free. I was told by two different employees that I would only be charged for 2 days of parking and instead was charged for 3. Josie, the manger was extremely rude in handling the matter and refused to refund me for the third day charged despite two of her staff members saying otherwise. Pay a couple of bucks more and stay at the Hilton for a better experience and staff who enjoy their job.
Staff was amazing, rooms were great, restaurant food was great. Location was awesome. Pool was so nice. Can’t wait to go back.
Bad experience. I only stayed here because Sheraton would not give me my money back after canceling three hours after booking using Expedia. Loud slamming doors, trash left in the lobby. Pillows in rooms are uncomfortable, $3 water, in the middle of nowhere. You need a rental car. I could go on and on. Will never stay at another Sheraton ever again.
Positive: Clean quiet modern room easy check in Negative: Parking is expensive
While the location is really convenient, there is a few major issues at this hotel1. Despite getting a suite on the 12th floor, the noise from the freeway is so loud, I doubted that the windows were open.. They were not. Its just that the glass is so thin its like not there... I had to put on my ANC ear buds to be able to sleep..2. The food is generally subpar... Dinner & breakfast were both disappointing3. Charging for overnight parking when you have such a huge parking lot is a rip off... At least make it complimentary for Elite Bonvoy membersQuibbles: the suite layout is quite odd, with a huge unused bedroom & small living area... Check the pictures.
They stay was fine, however I booked through Priceline for my entire stay and a week after I stayed they charged a card $427 that I used ONLY for the snack room and did not authorize for any other charges. They said that Priceline only gave them funds for 2 nights and I stayed for 4 nights, WHICH I BOOKED FOR 4 nights through Priceline and payed in full. They didn’t call me or Priceline before just charging my card. Terrible service
Positive: Quiet even though it was right by the freeway. I didnt hear any freeway noise. The lobby is nice and updated. Negative: Less than 10 channels worked and the tv kept freezing and not working. I had to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in to work. The bathroom needed updating. Toilet paper holder was broken and the shower water was impossible to keep at a decent temp.
I’d give it 0 if it was an option. Yes I bought a non refundable room rate but while trying to communicate I was hung up on and yelled at before any conversation was even commenced. The overall attitudes of the workers behind the desk were the most rude I’ve ever experienced and I travel for a living. Their competition, Hilton blows them out of the water. Same issue they allowed me to stay a different time no questions asked. They also answer the phone in a much more professional tone. It’s sad that a former platinum status and current gold member gets you nothing. I’ve tried for weeks back and forth with Marriott just to get a credit but they do not care at all. So I’ll continue to give my business to Hilton. Benifits are way better anyway.
The hotel is located in a very convenient area near large retail chain stores and restaurants which was great. The staff was very nice but the hotel room was questionable. There was a weird low beep all night from the vents, there were red dots on the ceiling in the bathroom which I hope was not blood. the bed was lumpy and the springs creaked. Since we were there for 2 days and spent most of the day out we tolerated it but this is not a 4+ star hotel. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I had to be honest for all the parents because I was genuinely concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel.
Positive: Midge solis In the reception Negative: Pay for the park 28$ No laundry ¿For the first time in my life I stay in a hotel that cleans rooms every three days ¿¿ No one moving the trash Bathroom to small We were given breakfast from the lady in the front desk and then th
Positive: the engineer handled the bathroom issue promptly. Negative: Cashless. no daily housekeeping. Both of these are Covid- 19related which I understand. Difference in price for 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.
Overall it’s a great hotel. It’s across the street from the mall, 15 minutes to Belmont beach, great customer service, comfortable bed and up to date furniture.
Old and outdated. Room smelled of stale cigarettes, and TV is antiquated. A handful of channels actually worked without fuzzy picture, and TV was not a smart enabled TV (so no streaming options). Its 2021 and this hotel clearly needs to be updated. Not a deal breaker, but absurd that breakfast isnt included. Spent $30 on 1 coffee, 1 tea, 1 croissant, 2 yogurt parfaits, and an apple. Should factor $28 for parking and expensive a la carte breakfast into cost for an old outdated hotel looking out over the freeway. Would not recommend and will not stay again.
Positive: Clean and quiet - slept well! The bed was very comfortable and the room had a nice view of the area. It was close to shopping and restaurants too. Negative: I had to pay an extra $200 to park my car and bring 2 little dogs. I dont like that parking was $28 per day. This makes the price of the room more than I had anticipated. I also felt like they were going to charge for every little thing extra.
Positive: Staff were awesome, rooms were nice. No problems with our rooms. Negative: Their jacuzzi and pool were out of service and appeared very run down, my grandkids were excited to swim but did not get a chance to do so.
Avoid this place unless you cant afford anything else.. Need more trashcan outside, there arent any! Employees are hit n miss. Some very nice, some very rude. The window in the room wouldnt shut sealed so there was very cold air coming into the room. Also, even after adjusting the temp all night, nothing happened it would stay on AC. The only resort was to turn it off completely.Beds were comfy was about the only nice thing here.
Nice Central Location. Well Run to my discriminate eye. I Enjoyed it!
Great hotel views, ceiling to floor windows, small fridge and coffee pot with complimentary Starbucks coffee. Nice rooms and good customer service.
Positive: Nothing Negative: EVERYTHING. Pool not heated. Spa not open. Restaurant closed. No room service. Dusty bed headboard. Dusty nigh stand. Expensive parking. Run down parking lot.
Positive: location. employees were nice. Negative: yes-my room.toilet ran all day on/off making it difficult to sleep.maintenane fixed - issue not resolved.phone didnt work. tv issues & maintenance adjusted cable. no daily room cleaning and not enough cups and coffe and creamers had to request.
I dont remember the hotel so I guess thats good as a description as any
Positive: The location is great! Negative: The hotel charges $28 per night parking fee. They refuse to clean the room unless I stayed longer than 3 nights. It would be ok for a 2 star hotel, but not a 4 star hotel.
Negative: I did the ¿blind booking¿ and then had to pay $28/night for parking. I live in San Diego, there are MANY other hotels nearby that don¿t charge for parking. I stayed in a 3-star Best Western the night before and it was nicer with free parking!
Positive: The room Negative: The fact they advertise on their website they have a guest laundry and it doesnt exist.
Very Nice Stay Great Rooms will go back when in San Diego
Positive: The location of the hotel was good Negative: The hotel was not as clean as expected and the front desk manager was not helpful nor empathetic.
Good location, a bit old and the carpet in room 1015 was pretty sticky...but at least we werent charged for parking. Charging for parking would have been deal-breaking.
Positive: Very clean & great staff! Negative: We were given.a room on the 10th floor facing the highway & the noise from the highway traffic kept me awake for the duration of our stay.
Never again! parking $28 per night per vehicle. Attitude was given by front desk staff. No breakfast at all! Small rooms. If there were less than one star, it would be more accurate.
Positive: Staff was nice and accompanied us by switching to a different room. Negative: Rooms are ridiculously loud! The freeway feels like it¿s in your room. Parking is very limited & they charge $20 a night, & pool, gym was CLOSED which was not disclosed when purchasing the room. Bathroom had a hole/ blackish gross spot in the bathtu
Positive: There was 3 elevators Negative: The room was hot. The thermostat was at 60 degrees and the room wouldnt cool. Parking was $26
Great Customer Service A+on my list... Very nice place Very comfortable.
Positive: Very friendly and courteous staff, quick service Negative: Hotel restaurant was not operating due to COVID restrictions but there were other restaurants around hotel to go out or have a delivery to our room
We had a great week long stay at the Sheraton from December 23-30. The staff was great, room was clean and the location was right in the middle of everything youd want to do in the area. Coffee in the lobby each morning provided a good headquarters for us to eat breakfast and play cards with the kids before getting going for the day. Fitness center is standard with treadmills, ellipticals and some weights. As a Gold member our parking was discounted from $27/night to $15. Only cons about the room was a lack of storage space and places to hang towels.I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I am in San Diego.
Positive: The staff was so friendly. Negative: The location and area didnt seem very safe.
Good service. Nice room will stay there again
Positive: Location! Negative: Mildew in showers on all upper corners VERY DISGUSTING, $28 per night parking fee WITH NO PARKING ATTENDANT!POOR Wi-Fi RECEPTION Can¿t t watch anything on TV for a full minute without a NO SIGNAL interruption.Overall the location is the only good thin
Where do I start? Check in was a disaster, with the hotel having us booked for 1 night rather than the 4 we booked. When they finally acknowledged their mistake we were booked for 3 nights under 3 different reservatins. No 4th nite. More about that later. Room was on 10th floor, without a working ice machine. When front desk informed, response was oh, thats engineering. No towel bar in bathroom, other than in the shower. Toilet valve broke on 3rd nite. No laundry or room cleanup. On 4th day housekeeping attempted to enter room 3x despite privacy hanger on doorknob. Then a call from front desk wondering why we were still in room??? After another call from front desk, finally 4th nite straightened out. Altogether probably my worst hotel stay ever.
You can park on the street for free but the hotel ask you to pay $30 per day for parking!!! old fashion otel
Positive: The room was clean and comfortable. I also did not notice a lot of noise from the halls or other guests. Negative: No
Positive: Nothing, extra parking fees, add ons Negative: $28 parking fee...I wasnt told about
Excellent customer service and comfortable beds.
Positive: The location was excellent. Negative: There was a blood stain on my comforter. Also, I stayed for multiple days and they never cleaned my room.
Positive: The room was attractively furnished. Negative: There was no microwave in the room as listed, and there was a problem with the heating/cooling. We needed to request maintenance on the cooling unit and also asked for a box-fan.
Positive: Location, staff and ability to print my itenerary Negative: No microwave in the room, laundry machines that dont work, surprise parking fee
Positive: Staff was friendly and overall hotel was clean Negative: Air conditioner was really weak and room was hot. Beds were hard with old springs. Pillows were really worn. Water pressure was like a rocket. Restroom really small. Not sure why its rated 4 star. Not like a normal Sheraton.
Amazing. For short. In essence a learning experience.
Great bed!! A very nice room. I recommend you stay here
Positive: Location Negative: $28 parking for unsecured parking lot. Stains in bath tub. Uncomfortable bed.
Positive: The room was very clean and updated, front desk staff very professional and helpful. Negative: The $28/night parking fee is ridiculous considering it was just an open unsecured lot. The hotel is not located in the downtown area so no reason for this extra charge on hotel guests.
Positive: For the most part, it was great. Negative: The restaurant was closed due to issues that appear to no be COVID related.
Positive: It was close to malls and restaurants Negative: Horrible experience....we found a dead bug right by the headboard. And a women¿s bra in the room, right after they assured us that the room was clean. We had to move to a new room that was stuffy and the restroom door would not stay closed. Never again
Absolutely 5☆s... the front desk ladies were great. Room was spotless & employees were very professional
Positive: The location was great. It was perfectly situated to get to all nearby attractions within a reasonable timeframe. There was also so many great local eateries nearby that we tried And enjoyed Negative: There was a bad smell of musk in the room that we attributed to the air conditioning running all day/night and creating moisture in the carpet surrounding it. Also in the age of COVID-19 the room wasn’t as clean as it should have been.
No microwave really small refrigerator!! No breakfast!! No restaurant!! In rm heater didnt work! Gave a small portable heater!! Could be cleaner!! Coffee mach ck!! Sheets nice and clean though!! Doesnt tell you 25 dollars a day parking!!@#! :( They had plenty of rm for parking and no valet!! Why the 25 dollars they are hiding!! If you use Priceline or any of the online booking places they will not advise you of parking fees anywhere!!@#! Even when you turn on their switch for full amount discovery of taxes and fees!!@#! :(
Room felt a little outdated. Id imagine it be a little more for $300.
Positive: Was more like a best western inn or best western maybe even motel 6 Negative: Everything was not good other than location
Positive: It was close to restaurants, shopping and the San Diego airport. Negative: The sound of the traffic on the highway kept me awake most of the night. The bathroom was literally the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel in all my years. There was now whwre to hand a hand towel and no counter space. Exorbitant parking fees.
Rooms are certainly very nice and the bed was cozy. The cleaning crew knocked on my door at 9 am and there is a $28 parking fee they dont tell you about when you book. At least not the website that I booked on.
Positive: Location Negative: Handicap parking sorta far and only 1 spot hidden by bushes filled with bees
Positive: I liked the location the best. the freeways were easily accessible and we didn’t have long driving times to where we wanted to go. Negative: $28 per car per night for parking No alternative grab & go breakfast . No liners in the wastebasket and no trash cans in the hallways or by the elevators. I killed 2 bugs in the room and found a dirty sock in the closet. They charged for coffee!
Go somewhere else, seems like all they care about is money. Asked for late check-out and was not honored. Instead, I was charged half a day to stay till 3pm ($75). The funny thing was that the hotel waited and fraudently said I stayed until 5am!!! This is the first time I have EVER been charged for a late check out, the hotel refused to give us a refund. They also charged $28 dollars for parking, which was not disclosed at booking. Apparently they need the money more than I do! Make sure you get everything in writing if you make a reservation!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE YOUR RESPONSE IS A LIE. THERE WERE NO FEES MENTIONED BY THE RESERVATION AGENT AT THE 800 NUMBER DURING MY REQUEST.
Great hotel stay only problem was the bath tub was stopped up.
Positive: Cleanliness and professional staff Negative: Cleanliness and professional
It was a nice place but I would not stay again simply because of their security guard racially and stereotypically profiling and harassing me and my family all night.... following us when we wanted to smoke a cigarettes asking us if u belong there.....I and so disappointed
We were upgraded to a balcony room. It overlooks the freeway. The sliding doors are so flimsy they dont keep any sound out. When we walked in, we thought the door was open and it was actually shut. If you sleep well with white noise, this is the hotel for you. The tile in bathroom isnt the cleanest either.
Positive: Good access to freeway, attentive staff. Negative: Paying for parking.
My fiance and I really enjoyed ourselves at this Sheraton property in San Diego. For my 37th birthday we spent the weekend here and were truly impressed. staff was amazing! From check-in to housekeeping to the lounge everyone was extremely friendly & professional. Location is amazing close to everything maybe 10 minutes from all of the beaches great restaurants in the area. Lots of available parking. And a beautiful suite with a super comfortable bed large bathroom and huge balcony. Restaurant made great food with outdoor seating near the pool and jacuzzi. If youre going to be in the San Diego area I highly suggest staying here.
Beware of the hotel gotcha! I learned on check-in that parking $28 per night per vehicle. That information certainly wasnt on my booking and certainly would have swayed me away from this hotel, which also has no breakfast (not even to go, unless you get something from the guest shop) and no other ameties during covid. In fact, at check in they also told me I would have access to a gym down the street. When I asked the next day how I get that access, the lady at the front desk told me she didnt think they actually had that deal anymore but Im welcome to go and try. Apparently the hotel has made telephones and customer service and also inaccessible...
Positive: I like that the bR was open Negative: The staff nagging about masks
The hotel is very clean and friendly staff. Stayed for 3 nights and they cleaned our room once which was very nice. A lot of things have changed due to COVID so just keep that in mind. Overall our stay was great.
Nice hotelThe service was a bit lacking and its getting old. You pay to park in their parking lot and theres no room service. I was surprised that they even charged us $7 for two coffees in the morning.
Positive: Leaving Negative: No air conditioning in my room and the staff was indifferent to my problem. Very unhappy, no refund. Got a $10 snack comp.
Positive: Good customer Service Negative: Parking
