People have somewhere to get some food and help or even their mail. This place helps you remember where you can be if you arent careful. God bless
Dropped off some donations yesterday at the Center. Love the staff there and we were able to have a quick check in session to see how everyone was doing. Us Social Workers SO need this and its great to be around others in this community that cares so much!! Hope to have some more items for you next week! :)I arrive at usually 2pm on Thursdays with various donations.
Great place to relax and watch a movie and rest. They have clean restrooms and a great staff. Makes you feel safe and secure. J get my mail there a d feel safe that my mail is secure. The staff take great care of I.porta t packages. The last thing is every Thursday they give help getting g your picture Identification. The first five people get a voucher and a ride to get it. Much respect for the entire program.
Because of the virus there are limits. But its a great place to get help. Because the staff are very helpful.
Hello family just want to send some feed back on todays visit to the neil good center. But the last time I came threw here it was called the Neo Green Center at that time. But Im here today to see if I could get into the shelter since I was served with a 60 day notice to leave my home. Not sure who printed it out but its time I guess I move on anyways to maybe help someone along my path in hopes that I get my same bunk 300 lol Ill give an up 📅
Any help you need they will be there for you
I have never been disrespected the way that I every single time I step inside the Neil good day center. The majority of the employees are decent, civil and impartial, but the manager herself is a monster. She disrespects and mocks most of the people that come in to get their mail, she is ALWAYS yelling about somethings or other and twice have I seen her exchanging ‘connect’ information about drugs. (Not weed) Go there at your own risk!
Great place to get everything you need. Steady helper
Humm, where to start. You can receive mail there. Not in the best of areas they call that area the Lower bottoms lots of addicts, alcoholics they dont bother you. Theres usually a line to get your mail. Showers on site, Social Services available upon request. Staff has a good attitude considering the population they are serving. They have a waiting room you can charge your phone, also, they have laundry services available to wash your clothes. Not sure if they provide detergent. Access point for Father Joes Village a Homeless Shelter. Police presence is very heavy in that area so you dont have to be scared to walk around down there no ones going to bother.
Mail and toiletrys are free to those in need can also do your vspadat there
Im giving 4 Star only because you get mail, wash your clothes and have a room were you can leave your belongings safe you do need to go once a week and check in if not you will loose your belongings and its free the bad thing is that picken up your mail takes a long time do to the fact that they are short staffed...
Its basically a place to go for the homeless during the day. It can help connect to many resources like mail, clothing, and meal donations. Its a last resort sort of place so no one is really happy to be there.
I remember using their address as my mailing address years ago but I had to return back to Hawaii because of legal/probation issues but I may return back to San Diego someday 😃
Antoinette shes so awesome when we got housed and she gifted us with posropedic pillows
Nasty place, but free mail service.
The one place I found my roots in.
If you need a place to receive mail that is not your home address you can go there and register theres also sort of social services there to help people who are indigents or poor to get clothing referral services health insurance food laundry showers, pop up get h hi
They are doing the best they can, in a tough situation. Thank you for there service.
Helpfully to the community and the people
I give this place big big props they do another to belp...
Great place to donate to! I give them as much as I can!
The line for mail was longer than Ive ever seen, and I dont buy the idea that the stimulus takes a month past the date mailed to arrive.
Never ever ever ever go there. Second time they stole a package from me. And swear they never received it. After calling the police for my galaxy s8 edge when it was first realead they said they never got it. A month later ups tracked the package and investigated them. 2 days later they sent my package back to Texas and noted ( we noel good did not order this phone) apon return the screen was broken. And not replaced I lost 450 dollars on it. Now today my amazon package said delivered the girl said is it the size of a cell phone i said why yes it is. Thinking how did you know. And they said its not there (like last time) and they are blaming amazon. Lol amazon post it delivered after someone signed for it. These criminals need to be federally procecuted.
Always assisting the unfortunate.
Other than to conduct business like mail beware. Mad Max/WW Z land. Supposed security kicks it with the zombies. You are on your own inside and outside of facility for several blocks.
At this time of our lives COVID-19. The activity there is hectic . But we make due. Very little problems.
This place is the best place for immediate assistance while homeless. They can help you with housing assistance, meds, resources and mail.
Helped my children and I years ago in 1996. Thank you so much. Rita Stone
The staff is horrible security is very lazy and treat the homeless so wrong like there not human.
Helped the homeless with some food.
Not a place you go unless you have no other choice. If you are on the streets and need a place to rest for the day it does the trick but watch your belongings, they grow feet and there is nothing that is age from theft, they will take everything from electronics to food to clothes and blankets. Also the individuals that sleep in front of the day shelter have no respect and leave their sleep areas filthy, do not bring children near here, they are not allowed but also would learn life lessons that most adults dont need to learn.
Good people trying to help
Neil Good was a superior help for me to find resources around the San Diego and SoCal region while I was homeless there. The staff are top notch, because well the people they separately have to boot out and deal with are not always the most respectful people, however most days it was nice to sit down inside a nice day center, charge my phone, watch sports or news, or catch up on resources. They also helped me get around the city, and learn the various cities around the San Diego area. Heres the deal, while you are here, mind your own business, dont be stupid or disrespectful to anyone, have manners, and you will not have any issue with anyone at all. They allow you to sleep out on the synthetic grass if you want to sleep and feel more safe. The security does their job well, and are very respectful and will listen if you want to talk for a moment. Food is often delivered by whats called Drive-by. They provide food and sometimes essential hygiene supplies from local churches, charities, or just very good willed people. They help you obtain whats called an orange card, which allows basic entrance into shelters for food, showers, laundry, and to also get back on the Neil Good Property. Now Im back home where I should be, and I extend a thank you for the staff pointing me in the right direction to get Travelers Aid. You are guaranteed safety within those walls.
YOU NEED HELP. GO HERE. 299 17TH STREET SAN DIEGO, CA 92101
They house and help the homeless with a large assortment of services. Clean and well supervised. Very difficult situation.
A good source of information for people who are attempting to pull themselves up out of the homeless cycle. The staff is helpful and will supply anyone with the necessary information to get back on the road to self sufficiency as long as someone has follow through and the ability to do the required legwork.
Poor help
Helping homeless.
The 🏡 for the homeless gives one their dignity. The 🌎 peoples place to refresh and enjoy dignity for a visit. Enjoy this courtesy given by those who truly ❤ you.
Nice place to cool your heels
No shelter space. Not enough room for overwhelming amount there.
Great resource.
When I was there staff not friendly hopefully things change
It is important for homeless people to be able to get their mail which I could not get at NGC. Some of the staff members would give me my mail but there were a couple of them that wouldnt. On one occasion when I showed a staff member the tracking he reluctantly went to another room and got my package. On another occasion he asked the female staff member why she didnt give me my mail and I heard her say I just didnt feel like it. .If you protest they kick you out. I was not rude to them and didnt protest until that happened I would sometimes get mail 2 weeks after the post marked date. I gave up trying to get mail there. There is a sign on the wall that says they dont withhold peoples mail and that is just a rumor. It turns out some of the staff members do sometimes..
Went to donate food. Busy place. Security guards were very helpful. Staff was pleasant. This place provides a safe environment for the homeless.
Security does a good job
It a safe place to be when your trying to get off the streets wash clothes for free is blessing
Neil Good Day Center (San Diego Day Center) is a wonderful establishment. The resources and staff on site are wonderful and vital for individuals who are looking for or need services. It is truly an essential and integral part of the San Diego Downtown Community.
Good place to sleep during the day.
Slot of people who wants real help can get it here for sure they let you get mail &etc
I feel they dont really want to help homeless
Its a good place to hang out and get help with things. U can get ur mail here. Location is kinda harsh and some of the people are questionable.
If I wanted to see the truth about how the city really helps our homeless. Truth the trickling drops of water that come from the on sink located on the outside by the storage that is accesed once a day open for one hour. Never are any of the programs open but once a week for and hour. Sisplaces people laying on the ground. One single TV that has people doing nothing but brainwashing them into coming back no showers bathrooms violation privacy and barely work.. and security if the see any thing that they dont understand they dont care your banned for months at a time for having a insulin siringe fall from you bag. Where else will the go at. St Vincents feeds once a day at noon
Good facility for assisting the homeless..... Mail, bathroom, laundry, and a place to get out of the rain during the day...... Good Job Fathers Joe
The staff is helpful, and it offers a variety of helpful services. Though there are a lot of good people who are clientele, there are a number that definitely are not, and at least one of the security guards is a homophobic, unprofessional bully.
All staff here r truly a gem.
Nice Staff. Helpful. Not easy to get in and out. Lots of people traffic.
Neil Good would NOT approve this. Ever. More help is needed. Immediately.
Its tough to be around so many hurting people. And the number continue to grow.
I can have a address to get mail that mit bee important.
If you are homeless good place to seek help to get community information and support. They also have non-profits that come to the site for support.
Great services. Some homeless peeps have a tendency to trash the place...not good🤔
Worst place ever for homeless very very stinky. DONT GO NASTY SMELLS
They are all ways very helpful. And it all ways seems to have a pleasant atmosphere.
This place says that they provide many services.the truth is the procidenlaundry for only ten people a day. No food services. And they have them covered in as though its a prison. The storage services arent helpful when things are missing legal aid comes o .ca every week if they made it. The water trickles out from the faucets. Help the people lay idle not moving or biend p productive
Very nice place to get resources you just have to be mindful of the area. It is very high risk if you are not used to it.
Thank you for helping the less fortunate people of this community. If you need somewhere to go when you have nowhere to go this is a great start.
I get mail here, but the line is slow.
It is a good place to get your mail, takeing showers and to get all kinds of help, food and clouthing
For all that the people do to help after seeing first hand the chaos!!!! Thanks for not giving up on those who are silently great full appreciatingte every thing yall stand for ....#NoWorrys but you have to try, stay focused, and enjoy the California vibe
A day-care center for the homeless. Has gone downhill since St. Vincents took over, and has always been a depressing place to hang out.Nevertheless, its good to have. There are services, such as ID assistance, available, and drive-bys throughout the day.
Extremely populated because of the homeless population in the downtown area. Considered a well known hang out. A great deal of the staff are rather short with the clients which is inexcusable. There are case managers that go there to help the veterans. They offer clothes waking services but you must be there extremely early to get in line to have it done. There are food dropoffs by various donors. There is a tv. You can also get the VISPDAT (homeless indicator testing) done there but make sure you findout your score immediately because that is very important...7and below = rapid rehousing/8 and above = permanent supportive housing. It is no longer run by alpha project. Its run by Father Joes village which is a totally different entity.
The biggest problem with this place is location. People with advanced COPD probably couldnt make it up such a steep hill.
Day center to where people can receive mail, phone calls, make calls and wash clothes. You can receive help with social security disability...
Very Friendly & Curteous Staff. In The Midst Of Abnormal aka Crazy Homeless People That Regularly Frequent There.
Nice helpful place but watch your stuff.
Top notch mail service window
I am disabled and they help me with getting resources and they are very dedicated to helping people.
I consider myself lucky and well fortunate to have stumbled across Neil Good Day Center. I was getting assigned to receive a Obama phone while I was in Chula Vista. I told the person I have no mailing address where she can send my new phone. My sister refused to let use her address cause its too inconvient for her to contact me and meet to bring my mail to me. The lady giving me the new phone referred me to Neil Good Day Center. She said her family is the same way mine is. NOW I can finally can apply for my retirement from social security. The people in the office at Neil Good Day center treat me with respect and kindness. Neil Good Day Center provides you with a mailing address at no cost. Also with the orange picture identification card they supply you with, can be used to get a healthy meal daily at Saint Vincent de Pauls cafeteria.
Safe place to hang out if you are homeless.
Only place for homelessness if you find yourself in a bad living situation go there so you wont start on the street you can get a place inside before you are outside. Its Not Planned Dont Feel Bad do Something!
They are a very good program for homeless resources and even just for help
A lot of love and support for the less fortunate and homeless nice people work here
Needs to be updated.
Too many homeless but services for getting i.d., taking bird baths, checking mail, doing laundry, plenty of food drive-bys. Run. By St. Vincent de Paul, who has no intention of ever getting people off the streets unless its a major holiday that they want to suck the teat of donors feeling guilty for doing nothing the rest of the year.
They let you use their address to get your mail. Associated with St. Vincent design Paul. Use the place only if you have no option. Dirty and unhealthy.
Okay, after seeing of the bad things some people wrote in their review of the Day Center I feel as though I should at least attempt to set the record straight, if at all possible. A little about me first: Im originally from Orlando, FL and I got here to San Diego mid April of this year (2017) and Ive been homeless and living on the streets since January of 2016 starting in Orlando then now out here on San Diego and the comparison of the two cities in regards to the homeless is night and day. Nowhere on all of Central Florida is there any place even remotely like the Neil Good Day Center. And yes, when youre dealing with such a large number of homeless people like at this place, you are going to have more than a few bad apples amongst other decent acting homeless people, so things like it being loud, people yelling for no reason or the floor getting dirty and stuff like that is going to be unavoidable no matter where you go, so youre just gonna have to deal with it. And to the people who gave negative reviews of this place, you should instead be GRATEFUL that a place such as this even exits in the first place! Go to Orlando and try to find any place that offers the kinds of services to the homeless down there that this place does and see what youll find - not a friggin thing! Seriously, the Neil Good Day Center out here offers us so many awesome things that its ridiculous and Im not exaggerating in the slightest bit either. Im so serious right now. They offer vouchers that will waive the entire $29 fee the DMV charges you in order to get your California ID card! I lost my Florida ID after about 2 weeks out here and the Day Center gave me that free ID voucher I took to the DMV and I got my California ID card completely free of charge and without any issues whatsoever. They also offer mailbox services, so you can give the street address of the Day Center as your own and you can then get any sort or mail (USPS, UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.) mailed to you by anyone from any place in the world and this place holds it for up to two weeks for you and you can go up there and check your mail seven days a week, all free of charge of course - just like all of the other services they offer us. Anyway, Ive ranted long enough. Please dont listen to those ungrateful homeless who wanna write negative reviews of this place and of youre homeless, then do yourself a huge favor and get up to the Neil Good Day Center ASAP and take advantage of all they offer us, for real!P.S. I was originally gonna give it a 4-star review, but after going back over everything it offers along with the simple fact that Ive never came across another place even remotely like it, Im changing it to a full 5 stars. Yeah, I think thatll do.
Day center for the homeless. Many services. Compassionate staff
A place for homeless people to get services housing suggestions health care options.
EXCELLENT PLACE FOR THOSE IN NEED. THEY OFFER A PHONE THAT YOU CAN USE TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS, ETC. THEY HAVE LEGAL AID COME IN ONCVE IN A WHILE TO ANSWER OR DIRECT YOU ON HOW TO DEAL WITH LEGAL ISSUES YOU MAY HAVE. STAFF IS VERY UNDERSTANDING OF THOSE LESS FORTUNATE. THEY OFFER MEALS, SOMETIMES CLOTHING, SNACKS ARE DELIEVERED BY DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. AND RHEY OFFER AN ADDFRESS AS WELL AS AN I.D. CARD.
Awesome Clarity today for those souls that it services.
Felt out of place. Nice employees, but everyone said something different
Needs better informed and people friendly front desk people.
They take care of you. I get my mail there
Very Helpful place for SanDiegos Homeless population.
