If you are IN or COMING to the San Diego area, I would highly recommend Captain Evan and his crew within Guardian Charters to absolutely everyone. No matter the length of the trip you are destined to have an amazing time. I booked a half day trip, and it was every bit of perfect. We caught lots of fish, a few sharks and had enough belly aches from laughing to replace an ab workout. I truly appreciated the candor, insight, and lighthearted personality of Captain Evan. Again, to say it was an amazing trip is an understatement.

It was such a pleasurable experience fishing with Guardian charters. There was an issue with the booking system and almost didnt go but the owner Evan was so accommodating and allowed my friend and I to have the boat to ourselves for a private tour, the crew of Noah and Reese were really professional and friendly and we caught about a dozen Red Snapper and other rockfish.

We came all the way from England to spend good quality time fishing with Evan. What a recommendation and yes we got 20 Yellow Fin.Service and safety spot on and his passion and happiness when fishing man fun lots of fun. Just when you think you cant pull another fish hes right there pumping you up.I greatly appreciate you taking care of my family on the open ocean and please anyone who is interested in fishing in the sea for the 1st time this is the Company.All the best,Jason.

I went out with Guardian Charters for a day of spearfishing as well as a night of lobster diving. Evan and the team were absolutely fantastic -- they knew where to go to find fish and gave me great advice on hunting techniques. Our crew speared several fish and took home plenty of bugs. On top of that they are fun guys to spend time with on the water. Highly recommend going out with them!

Private night lobster dive with Evan. Excellent time! Even though the visibility was low at times and the waves were less than calm, we still got 10 bugs between the two of us, and Evan hooked me up with gear too. Solid guy, and Ill definitely return the next time Im in San Diego!

We booked a trip with Capt. Evan for tuna for July 6. Less than a week before the trip we got a phone call from another charter saying he worked closely with Evan and was taking us instead. Came from Arizona and brought home 0 fish. Maybe not the guides fault beings its fishing. I think a call from Captain Evan asking if that was ok would have been nice. After all we did choose Guardian charters.

I have been out fishing with Evan multiple times with friends and co-workers and he always puts us on the fish. Most importantly, he makes it a fun and educational experience.Ive been out on boats with other captains who stuff as many people as they can fit on the boat to make more money which makes for nothing but tangles lines all day long. Evan limits his load to four people which makes for a much more enjoyable fishing experience.As far as I know, hes also one of the only boats in San Diego that does spear gun trips too.I HIGHLY recommend Evan and Guardian Charters!

I’ve been lucky enough to have a couple of amazing and productive days on the water spearfishing with Guardian Charters! These guys know how to put you on the fish and they run a first class operation! Highly recommended.

Guardian Charters are who you need to book with if you want to go with quality. The captain and his crew are one hundred percent legitimate. They are extremely knowledgeable and experienced fishermen, but also understand how to bring top notch service and customer satisfaction as a charter company. I was so stoked to have fished with them. They are super enthusiastic about catching fish. And their enthusiasm and drive to give their customers a great experience really paid off. We caught limits on Yellow Tail when other charters were coming back empty handed. This is the real deal, you guys!

Evans operation is top notch. Ive been on a handful of charters in Southern California over the past few years and Guardian is by far and away the the cream of the crop. Evan has a wealth of experience and really knows his way around local waters. Despite some unfavorable conditions, Evan was determined to get us on the fish and stuck out an extra long day until we got we were after. A lot of charters adhere to a very strict time limit at the cost of the experience of their customers. Evan went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day on the water. In the end, I speared my first bluefin tuna! 10/10

It was a most epic experience had by all. My buddies and I went out to shoot blue fin, and we did exactly that. Our boat captain, Doug, was absolutely amazing. I would do this charter again in a heartbeat. If you’re questioning whether you should do this or not, don’t. Pay the money and get on the boat!

I was a first time spearfisher. This was a great experience. Our guides worked tirelessly to both find fish and keep us safe. If you have good swimming skills dont be afraid to try this sport. Im already trying to schedule a return trip for lobster or blue fin season.

Ive been on several trips with Guardian Charters and theyve all been super fun. Captain Evan and Captain Woody are super knowledgeable fisherman and know how to catch fish. Theyre both really nice and patient as well which is great for a dummie like me.They make trips super easy. They provide literally everything. Looking forward to many more trips with these guys!

We booked our trip with Guardian Charters from word of mouth and Im soooooo glad we did! The whole transaction was smooth. The boat was the perfect size and super fast. We got to the Coronado Islands before I could even take a nap. Captain Evan got us on the fish quickly and often using several different techniques. He has great knowledge in the water and was really nice and patient with us rookies. He has really nice equipment and helped us the whole day with casting, pulling in fish and keeping from crossing our lines up. Snacks and drinks were on board, along with a bathroom and soft cushions to lay down on. He even filleted the fish at the end of a long day on the water. We ended up with like 18 yellowtail, 3 Bonita, 1 calico bass and a few rock fish between the 4 of us. If youve never tried a private charter, have no reservations giving this company a try! Our 4 person group went out spearfishing Bluefin Tuna with Cpt. Evan on Thursday and Yellowfin Tuna Hook and Line fishing and Yellowtail “paddy hopping spearfishing” with Cpt. James on Friday. Both Captains knew exactly where to find fish and worked tirelessly to keep us on top of the hot spots, our hooks baited, and needs met for 2 long days. I’ve been on a lot of charter boats, and I can whole heartedly say Guardian is a first class operation!

Caught 17 yellow tail on May 4!!!! Was booked on a different boat and that boat broke down the day before our trip. Called Even and he had a spot open for the next day. We went out with Captain Nate with 5 guys (3 had never fished before) and he put us on fish!!! Everyone had a great time.

I first heard about Guardian Charters through a friend early summer last year. I decided to give it a shot. Best decision i have ever made. Captain Even put us on the fish every time! I even gave spear fishing a shot, changed my life! I aso fished with Captain Woody a few weeks ago, let me tell you hes one salty dude. He went out of his way to make sure we were catching and having a great time. And we sure did. Both Even and Woody will make sure you are having the time of your life. I cant believe I wasted all this time and frustration fishing on those crowded sport boats. Money well spent let me tell you. Give GC a call and book a trip, you will never look at fishing the same!

Been out many times with Evan and his team. They are fantastic and always put us on fish. Over the years weve caught lobster, octopus, yellowtail, mahi, calico, sheephead, Bonita and trigger fish. Always a good time!

Went out offshore with Capt Nate ended up with 2 yft and 1 skippy, Capt Nate worked hard to get us on some fish, and handled everything like a pro!!! The day was pretty rough as far as fishing season is coming to an end soon, but guardian charters will put u on fish!! I recommend them to the novice fisherman or seasoned pro thx Capt for a great day out on the water!!!

In my opinion guardian charters is the best sport fishing charter in San Diego hands down. There are not a lot of charters in San Diego that are willing to cater to spearfisherman but at Guardian they do. Their new boat offers a plush ride to the Coronado Islands or any other offshore fishing spot. Their captain has epic knowledge on the best dive spots, depths, and species of fish that you can target. I also like the fact that they always have a guide diver in the water with you, most companies just drop you in the water and expect you to figure it out for yourself. If you are looking to up your game and land new species of fish, or bigger game fish like yellowtail / tuna than look no further. A lot of my friends have gone on their rod and reel trips and this last summer they were hooking tuna all the way through the season. I am just now getting into rod and reel fishing after being mostly a diver for the last 6 years so I’m stoked to go out and hook some fish when the water warms up. This past Saturday we booked guardian for a dive charter to the Nados and had epic conditions the whole way. The Captain was clued into which day would have perfect weather and advised us to bring our 7mm suits if we had them as the water temp had just dropped to 58 degrees. I shot two sizable white fish (a new species for me) and one of our other divers landed 2 sheepshead close to 20 lbs. When it’s winter in Califonia and your landing fish around 20lbs it basically doesn’t get any better than that. I can’t wait for summer of 2017 to roll around, I’m planning on doing one of their longer 2-3 days liveaboard trips and hopefully shoot my first tuna. 5 star review here guys, look no further.

I was with @Ray Justus. Disappointing to not catch fish. Especially since Guardian Charters caught fish that day. I guess it’s not guaranteed.

My girlfriend and I went out with captain Woody on Sunday, and he really went above and beyond to put us on the fish! I would pick these guys anytime!
