Excellent car rental organization personal touch, willing to work with you. They help to support orphanages. Very reasonable rates. We will be doing business with them in the future.

We had a horrible time trying to find a car for 3 days. We tried Enterprise and Hertz had terrible customer service and were left us stranded with our luggage after we got a reservation confirmation for a vehicle they didnt have. We went to A1 and got a great deal, amazing customer service, and great conversation with the employees. Thank you for saving our vacation! Will rent again next time we are in San Diego :)

After arriving at San Diego and by recommendation, we were referred to A1 Rent a Car--they picked out a perfect convertible for my SO and I to travel around town. We rode that baby for miles. Car was well maintained and super clean. Its good to support local businesses who support their customers.

I was in jam to get a car rented last minute. Carlos and Luis were on top of it, they sent a vehicle to pick me up near the Little Italy area, and took care of me immediately right at closing hours.I highly recommend the customer service and getting you out the door and on your way!!!

The car was dirty (seats and dash) when I told management he told me he was thankful I was able to get a car. I was thankful to get a car, but when youre getting a last minute car and paying twice as much as you were going to pay somewhere else you would think you would be getting a pretty decent car smh. They even left belongings from the previous owner ( Registration, phone charger)

I have rented a lot of cars from the big guys like Enterprise, Avis, but this time decided to go with A1. We rented a 12 passenger Van from this place. The car was clean, the service was GREAT and the price was very reasonable. The van was $30 cheaper per day than enterprise.The guy who helped us was also very friendly. I have to rent vehicles fairly often for work and in the past have tried many other companies but have had such a great experience with A1 that I have used them exclusively for the last 5 years. Ive never been over charged or had any surprise charges. Its a small operation with an honest staff that works hard to get return customers.I recommend A1 for any of your vehicle rental needs (cars, vans, large vans), I have no financial interest in the company, Im just a satisfied customer.

The gentleman that helped us was so driven on getting us the best deal for our needs, and was so thorough in walking us through the contract to ensure no surprises, it made our whole trip! I have never had an ideal car rental experience, but this company went above and beyond expectations, I cant imagine it going better than it did. All of his promises (like extra free miles) he followed through on, which makes me question the previous poor reviews. I would rent from these guys again!!!

Avoid them at all cost. The rates they quote you when you step into their office sound really good, but they are too good to be true. Additional charges will be brought up and added on only when you are about to pay/return the car. Despite purchasing insurance from them, we were made 100% liable for a scratch on the car we dont even recall being responsible for.

Just had an excellent experience renting a car from A1. Originally I was looking to rent from Hertz however Im really glad I found these guys instead because Hertz was very overpriced. Anyway, they got me a great deal and I left feeling very happy. Definitely will go there again next time Im in San Diego.

The wait for long and but the employee was able to offer a upgrade to make up for the long wait. The car was good so there was no problem with it and return was smooth.

I was quoted one price, and charged much more when I returned the car (not for any claimed damage, just because they could). The car was junk too - one door handle didnt work and there was obviously some sort of engine mount issue. I hate this place with a passion. If you have no other rental option available to you youre better off hitch hiking, this place is that bad.

Car was crap. Had problems with it, paid WAY too much! And did not receive our *insurance* deposit back (which he took without us knowing). I give negative 5 stars

IF YOU PURCHASE A CAR FROM HERE, THE MAN WILL TELL YOU OVER THE PHONE THAT YOU CAN TAKE THE CAR TO A MECHANIC, AND ONCE THERE, WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO BRING A MECHANIC THERE INSTEAD. DONT GIVE ME WRONG, HE SOLD ME A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING CAR, BUT LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING. THE MAN WILL GIVE YOU AN OPTION TO RETURN THE VEHICLE WITHIN 3 DAYS IF YOU PAY A CERTAIN AMOUNT. THE DMV STATES THE COST FOR THAT OPTION SHOULD BE $75 BUCKS FOR ANY PURCHASE UNDER $5000. WELL HE SOLD ME A VEHICLE FOR $3, 400 AND OFFERED ME THE 3 DAY TAKE BACK OPTION FOR $300. NOW IM STUCK PUTTING ANOTHER $1000 IN THIS VEHICLE TO REPLACE EVERY BROKEN ENGINE MOUNT, WHICH IS ALL BUT ONE. PLUS I HAVE TO HAVE THE ENGINE STEAM CLEANED DUE TO A HORRIBLE LEAK THAT CANNOT BE LOCATED UNLESS ENGINE STEAM CLEANING IS COMPLETE. ONCE I FIND OUT WHERE THIS LEAK IS COMING FROM, I WILL GET TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO REPAIR THAT ISSUE AS WELL. DONT LET THIS MAN SWEET TALK YOU. BRING A MECHANIC, NO MATTER WHAT PROMISES HE MAKES TO YOU OVER THE PHONE. BE PREPARED.

I wish I could give less then a one! I asked one question. And the guy says no we dont and hangs up the phone! I call back and ask for a supervisor he says I am the supervisor now what do you want??? Talk about rude customer service. I would not even attempt to Gove my money to this person. Very rude and disrespectful.

Got a nice used car with low miles

Do not use this car rental as i got ripped off they charge me over $30 a day for a car that was not safe to drive they advertise a price $19 a day on there web site also they have a discount coupon 10% off they will not give you, they will tell you one thing but do another you have to be very careful with this company while i was there a girl came in the breaks on car were faulty i only wish i had taken the time to check this place before hand i payed more then i would have from other big name companys my mistake and a big one i pay the price?
