Its sad to write a bad review of a neighborhood business. I got $14 service with tire shine. You can see that about 1/3 of the tire got treated. Car came out dirty, many areas were skipped over, and with a lot of hard water spots on the windshield and other places. You need to add $1 for a towel, they dont provide you with one. Stars and Stripes at Miramar Road is so much better, its really worth the ride.

Terrible experience this morning. Do NOT purchase “premium.” My truck was still dirty, bugs all over the windshield, cob webs on the mirrors, dirt all over the side of both door panels. Attempted to reconcile the situation by speaking to the young man running the wash this morning, he had absolutely no interest in making it right. Will not be returning to this establishment, plenty of other options in the neighborhood. If the business had been open to making the situation right, a review would not be warranted. I did not walk away without trying to allow them the opportunity.

Expensive service!They charge 11$ for silver car wash and its completed in just within a minute as you can see in the video. They offer few other options but I do not think more expensive options offer anything better. I would pick a manual wash over this from next time. However they let you use 10 minutes of vacuum service. You can also use pressurized air to clean your car interior by yourself.

Got my monthly.. I can go as much as I want pass.. best money spent.. highly recommend

I usually think they give a very good car wash and the vacuums are great. But today the drive-through wash was not working, then got fixed. But the wash wasnt good. I had to rewash my hood when I got home; it wasnt clean in the middle. I will go back though because until today its been great.

It was a gud wash, but water was spilled in my deppo( trunk) - it dried tho.Towels/ vaccum.

This is the closest car wash for me, thats the only reason I continue to go.The brushes seems harsher than other car washes and I worry they are creating mircoscratches. The bristles are held on with thick rubber and slam against your car, it always slams my driver side mirror shut.Even with all that, I am always left finishing up washing the car. It never gets the top of the trunk (I drive a sedan) nor did it on my boyfriends car (also a sedan). It doesnt really clean any bug debris or tough spots well, I have to go around scrubbung those off.They say to limit vacuuming to 10 minutes, luckily they dont enforce it strictly. If so, Id never go here because it takes more than 10 minutes to vacuum my whole car by myself and re-clean what was missed.Oh and most of the time the music they play is not good. But maybe thats a tactic to reduce vacuuming time 😅

Purchased their Gold package, second from the best of the four options for $14. I have had my car cleaned better at a $7 gas station car wash. There were still bugs and dirt all over the front end. The spot free rinse left water spots across the entire front windshield. Ive had better results here once in the past, but I will no longer be waisting my money for the quality of cleanliness here.

I thought is is not bad for $7 basic wash. Since I saw a few complaints I added a bug service. Then I realized they also charge for towels. Since towel is a must, I dont recommend this place over other places.

Good wash machines with very thrifty business practices…. Also one of the most expensive washes in the area.This wash was such a weird experience… all they give is 1 towel to wipe down the entire car… and when I asked the employee to give me a few more… he had to ask his manager before handing out 2 more … like WTF…Have you even seen any other car wash!They have literally tonnes of towels to dry!You should give atleast 2 towels .. one for the exterior and one for interior…. What you you expect me to wipe my dashboard and seats with the same towel I use for my wheel rims? This was just so disappointing… that too with them charging some of the highest rates in the area!!Also one more thing on thrifty business practices….. every other car wash gives a complimentary car scent thingy…. But this place doesn’t….. even though their rates are higher than all of the other places…. Just something I noticed was weird … especially after being accustomed to the awesome service and car scent from soapyJoes from my previous wash location.Lastly… again on questionable business practices… they require a minimum 3 month commitment for any of the wash packages… I’ve never seen any of their competitors force their customers into This kind of situation…..The only reason I keep going back here is because I feel their washer tunnel is very nice and not too rough on the car

I like this car wash because you can do it all on your own. Drive your car in get it washed then park and clean/vacuume the car clean.

Poor quality service and non professional management, after 2 times car wash my car was still super dirty. I don’t recommend to anyone.

First of all this place was relatively expensive, especially since their dryers dont work. Luckily I had a towel in my car, but still i shouldnt have to hand dry my whole car. And my car still had dirt on it, I mean I got the basic one but that shouldnt mean I still come out with a dirty car. I seriously could have done a better job with my hose at home. I didnt even bother with the vacuums, I just left and went to a different car wash it was that bad.

I love this car wash! I go every week with both mine and my husbands cars and the staff is always so nice and helpful. We have the unlimited monthly memberships, its so great to go whenever you want. They give you a towel to wipe down your car and plastic gloves each time you go through. The vacuums are super strong and everything is very clean. The owner Meddi (spelling?) Is always so nice and helpful. I dont think he gets a break I see him every time! Thank you Meddie and Balboa Car Wash you rock!

I went in for a car wash and it didnt even wash my car fully. The back, sides, and top are all still covered in dirt. This is the worst car wash I have ever had.

The different washing apparatuses used in this carwash really hit our car hard, but they did not remove all the bugs, dirt, grime, etc from our car. We spent almost $20 to not get our car clean!

Worst car wash ever. Did not get car clean at all, even after two washes.

I have always purchased gold and platinum which are more than $12. The wash used to be great but not anymore. In my recent experiences the washes are not good. When I brought it to attention of the staff he told me to buy bug cleaning package which adds to the cost but it is unreasonable to ask for any higher amount when my expectation is to get only window and windshield cleaned nicely. Later he offered one more plain wash. Two of the staff told me to buy bug cleaning thing next time as if they are doing a favour in doing one more wash. The spray man standing at the entrance will just spray on one side on the car and sometimes never does anything. I am not even sure if they are doing premium services like hot wax or ceramic the way it is supposed to be done. Apart from this experience I like thier vaccuming area which is nicely maintained.

I really like this carwash. They have an easy yet beautiful setup. The guiders are always polite and spare gloves is a nice jester. Nive machines and clean environment. Free vacuuming and microfiber towels for use and air supply to get a clean dry car between the mirrors and such. 5 Stars all day

Ive been coming here since they opened a few years back and they make a quick car wash easy. You can choose from basic to platinum car wash options, and after a quick wipe down (not offered during Covid-19) Im good to go. With 10 minute access to two sizes of high power vacuum attachments post wash its easy to clear and clean out my car when the inside is as bad as the outside. A complimentary towel helps me get a quick wipe down done and there are restrooms and a vending machine if you need to grab something. There are gas stations on two of the opposite corners should you need to fuel up on the way out. My first choice for easy in and out car wash.

This was my first time at the carwash. Thomas helped me wipe down the mirrors and the windows and made sure it was shined up nicely. I was impressed with the job done because I had several spots where seagulls had left droppings on my car and other carwashes did not get the droppings off of my car but this one got them all. It does seem to do a better job than the one I used to use while I was driving for Lyft.

This is the nicest express car wash facility Ive ever been to. Reasonable car wash options/prices with option for unlimited wash memberships varying depending on car wash service levels. Lots of vacuum stalls with various types of vacuum cleaning tools. It is on a very busy road at a sometimes hectic intersection but the facility itself is excellent. They accept cash/card.

I love this place. It’s my go-to for washing my car. Vacuuming is free too! They have great value too. Most expensive is $18, least expensive is $11 AND it allows you to buy a plan that gives you even greater value.

Went to BECW about 40 min before closing time on a Saturday night. The staff was too busy taking down vacuum hoses to help customers. Had to wait for the attendant to guide me in and turn on the car wash. You cant tell which wash you are getting even though I paid the the $11 wash, it didnt appear any different than the $8 wash. As others have said the wash is just ok. In this case my car was quite dirty going in and almost as bad coming out. The dryer doesnt dry the car and they still dont have anyone at the exit drying cars like they did in the past. It makes their 10 min time limit hard to achieve when you have to do your own vacuuming and then dry the entire car. Before I was finished a very rude young man came by and said I had to leave because they had other cars needing to use the vacuums. There were only three cars at the vacuums, they needed mine becuse they had already closed all but four vacuum stations. I believe if a business is open until 8:00 they should be open until 8:00. Start tearing down after closing now while still open. (Hint: How do you feel when McDonalds shake and ice cream machines are not working?) I have used this car was many times in the past but it seems like the owners are now just there to take money. The attidtude seems to be who cares about customers? more will come alone if the current ones leave. Next time I need my car washed, I will think twice before returning to Balboa Express.

They charge more than some other car wash in San Diego. Thats not a problem tho, Im sure there are a lot of people would pay extra for better service and thats what I thought. Their dryer doesnt dry the car and they know it. They dont have couple extra hand for a better dried car like other car wash places have, they dont provide free towels like other car wash places do instead, they have a vending machine which you can buy towels for $1 and leave it in their dirty towel bin in order for them to re-sell them. Basically, you pay extra for couple of LED lights that they have installed inside and in return you dont even get a car wash service worth $5 in any gas station. DO NOT waste your money in this place and end up with bunch of water marks on your paint.

I recently moved and after an awful experience with another car wash I was in need of a new car wash that offers a monthly plan. After a lot of research I decided to to sign up for this car wash. My first visit was great and I have visited often for the last couple months. I have never had any issues and all of the staff are extremely nice. They even offer an addition drying cloth for my son when they see he is in the car. I love the hand dry at the end of the wash. It doesnt get your car completely dry, but its enough that if I dont feel like vacuuming and drying, I am okay to drive off. One thing I love about this car wash is the mirror above the car wash entrance so I can see my car is on the track. Much appreciated! Ive also noticed they leave enough space between cars and select when the car starts moving. I appreciate this since my last car wash had me so close to a truck that it skipped a roller and my car kept slamming into the truck. The vacuums are also great and they have clips to hang your mats while you vacuum. I think Ive found my favorite car wash.

OK people here is what happened today . I purchased the Silver Carwash for $ 11 . It all went well until I moved to the vaccum area . Here I found unusual scratches on the car hood . I have an ford explorer . The attendant called the manager to inspect . He arrived and looked at the scratches and he said that it never happens in his place . His explanation was that I scratched it with the Vaccum hose when I moved from one side of the car to the other . Thats a great imagination indeed, I have been to at least 20 automatic carwash places in the last 2 years and never had an issue . He really did not want to help at all . Did not offer a complimantary carwash or any other gesture to keep a customer . I really very disappointed . I probably do have a choice than to file an official complaint the BBB in San Diego area and even seek a legal action for the damage . I suggest be careful at this facility

I like the layout and location of this place, but the effectiveness of the wash leaves a lot to be desired. Last times I still had the little yellow spots of bee poop on my car. I don’t think this is an issue with other car wash places I’ve been to.To their credit, the vacuum set up is nice and they even have a compressed air future, I guess to blow out dust?
