I came in for a flat and it was repaired quickly. I have been to this shop before and they had always been very good, reasonable (wont do more work and charge more than necessary like other bike shops Ive been to), and friendly. Just recently I was happy with the work but it seemed like the mood or atmosphere of the place was not like before. I dont know their names but there were, in the past like a few months ago, a couple of guys who were really nice, and I didnt see them this time. Maybe they are gone from there for good, I dont know.

Im sorry to hear about the poor reviews. This location is in Bankers Hill with off street metered parking. It speaks volumes that this business has been sustained through these unique circumstances. Service was positive, bike tuned up, and pleasant conversation during the wait. There could be a wait from 0-20 minutes. Its best to go on the weekday.

Ive tried a few different bike shops around time, and this has become my go to spot. Everyone there has been very knowledgeable and friendly. On my most recent visit, I went in to purchase a new crank set as well as a new cassette as I was throwing my chain a little more often than normal. Instead of just selling what I asked for, they ordered me a new crank set, and did some chain adjustments to resolve the issue, stating in the notes that my cassette didnt need replacement.As a novice cyclist, I really appreciate the honesty and integrity of the shop. They could have easily just sold me what I requested instead of what I needed, and I wouldnt have been mad at them since I didnt ask for any advice, but instead, they took it upon themselves to only do the necessary!

I shopped at multiple shops for the stylr of bike i wanted, and Ian and his guys were the most knowledgeable, the friendliest, and they offered the best deal.

Above standard customer service! Amazing stuff, it does not matter who you run into, all the guys are very helpful. I have stopped by a couple of times. They helped me with flat tires and adjusted my breaks. When I need any help again, it is definitely a place to go!

I have a 3 year old Trek Crossrip 2. Great bike. I am pretty much a city rider averaging 60 miles a week. I dropped my bike off at Bankers Hill - Uptown Bicycles Sunday afternoon with a long list of tasks and repairs. Chris told me it would be ready on Tuesday and that he would call me early Tuesday with a progress report. I have to confess, I didn’t really believe him. However, Chris did call early Tuesday, and my bike was actually ready Tuesday afternoon. I was Impressed!When I took my bike for a test spin, it was as if I was riding a new bike! Chris repaired everything I had asked for and also fixed many minor issues I didn’t mention. His care and customer service from beginning to end was exceptional.P.S. Uptown Bicycles – Today customer service is everything! Please provide lots of time off for Chris to rest and recharge. I needed some new rubber on my road bike so I decided to check out uptown bicycles. Great customer service . The staff interviewed me to determine my type of riding . They found out that I needed thicker tires on my bike. Wow what a huge difference. Im going to be dumping a lot of miles on my bike thanks to uptown bicycles. Good job people

Uptown Bicycles is amazing! We ordered a bike online and walked in to the shop to pick it up. Ian was so much help! He answered all of my questions, gave me recommendations on accessories for my girlfriends new bike, and even helped load it into my car! He went above and beyond my expectations and will be coming back to Uptown whenever I need anything for my bike!

I love this place. Prices are surprisingly close to online, obviously they will not compete with online but the level of service more than makes up for it. They are just upbeat and cheerful folks that make me wish I had more money to spend here. Very knowledgeable and they dont make you feel dumb cause you asked a silly question or push you into something that you didnt need. Keep up the great work!

Great service after your purchase

Were from out of town and had biked a good 25 minutes away from our place. My tire popped in a super loud, scary way right in the middle of The Prado. We were pretty bummed that the rest of our day was about to be ruined. We quickly googled Bike Shops and found Uptown Bicycles. They saved the day. A quick walk with my crippled bike and they were able to fix us up with a new tube in less than 15 minutes for $15. I was even offered a complimentary beer. I wasnt even upset at popping my tire as the whole experience was nice. Thanks again!

I have not, YET, used the labor nor retail service of UPTOWN. But once I come to UPTOWN --- I come for 1 reason: (nearby) HOSPITALity treatment, for what the down-the-street Adams Ave Bike Shop lacks.Afterall, a bike mechanic is paid for such treatment for a customers bike.

I ordered online and had problems with what I received. They were impossible to get ahold of via email or phone message. Did not contact me back. And when I called they seemed knowledgeable but did not follow through on what they agreed to do. I am very disappointed with there service and lack of support with the products they sell and wish I had chosen somewhere else for my purchase.
