Fair shop that doesnt try to upsell you services you dont need. I was sure I needed my breaks replaced because I was long overdue and was hearing some noises I assumed were related. The guy told me the pads were still good and I nose was likely rust related since my vehicle sat unused for an extended amount of time.

Great staff and very helpful! But at times it seems like they are so nonchalant about certain jobs, took my truck to find a problem and it was there for 8hrs+ and when I called they said that my car has been ready and didn’t have a problem with them so they couldn’t find what was wrong... I thought a mechanic does an all around inspection before just giving up, I paid about $100 just for them to not find the problem. I always think of them as my neighborhood mechanics but they can’t even change a battery for me or do small jobs by the sounds of it, everytime I ask there’s a “but”. Great place if you need Air conditioning only though!

These guys are good at what they do, honest with their work, and knowledgeable. Brought my car in and am happy to say I believe shes in good hands. Cant wait for the work to be done!

After a number of mechanics, including Pep Boys and other big shops, couldnt figure out my issue, Tunes Lubes & Smog put in real effort to get my van up and running again. I cant recommend this shop enough, especially if your regular mechanic cant seem to figure out whats wrong with your car. Best of all, they didnt keep throwing costly tests at me - they just did them without upselling me whenever they hit a wall. Pretty sure this shop just became my go-to mechanic, but, with the expertise theyre putting into their work, Ill be needing a mechanic a lot less often.

I was referred to this place by a friend of mine and tried it to get more detail why my fuel pump kick on intermittently. As I showed up to the shop Jason Huff ask me what part I change so far and the issue why I couldn’t start the car. He assured me from first day and the day I pick up the car running again. Even though that were pacing Coved-19, they are still working to get other people car back and running to be use for groceries and for emergencies if they have to go to ER. Anyways Jason Huff updated me daily with the progress of their troubleshooting why my car wouldn’t start. They have traced it to the ECU is the problem and gave me a copy of the ECU diagram and explained it to me why. They recommend the ECU to be replaced even they got it to start just for me to take it back home instead of calling a tow truck. Thank you Jason and to your team for a thorough and well explained of the diagnostic doing everything right on first place with no rework. The price was a reasonable and definitely recommend this place and I will come back again for my other cars.

Highly Recommended!! I brought my car in after dealing with an issue for a few months. I had already taken in to another mechanic and the Toyota dealership. Neither could offer me a viable solution. ALL OTHER REVIEWS ARE FAKE - Dont go here to get your car fixed unless you want to get ripped off. Had a timing belt repaired and they never remounted the engine correctly. Paid additionally for them to fix the motor mounts 3 months later that they should of made sure was right in the first place when they remounted the engine. They told me it was good to go and that my engine wasnt going anywhere. 3 months later the engine is side ways and the motor mounts are broken again. Now theyre trying to charge me again for work they should have made sure was right to begin with.

Rip off, DO NOT GOI went to Tunes Lubes & Smog in 966 Hollister St. San Diego and they ripped me off over $150. The sensors go for $50 but I didnt investigate before hand.Second, they tried to sell me an illegal Catalytic Converter Manga Clova brand new (yet it was already opened out of the box) for $1356 which can be bought for $200 online. They also tried to charge me $448 for Gaskets when a full gasket kit for the car would cost less than $120.Oscar doesnt know what he is talking about and disappeared on the day I was towing my car to a different place when I wanted to challenge him on these prices.I highly suggest to anyone you do not go there unless you want to be ripped off. Do your research on the price of the parts.Basically entire cost would have been over $2300 with an illegal part that would not pass Smog. I was able to get it all fixed for about $1000 at the dealer instead.I am not the only unhappy customer, here is another link outside of here who also got ripped off.They may have ripped me off for about $150, but you are going to be losing more customers. I hope it was worth it.

This place is a place that makes bogus diagnostics and tries to rip people of I took it there and they tried to pull almost 2 thousands on a transmission replace but took it a honest friend and was just a sensor, I do not recommend.
